True, it is possible. That is why the calculations use not only the difficulty estimate, but also the rarity, which limits the manipulation of glasses. People who are fine with it usually don't care enough to post just to agree. Then we end up with all the ideas looking unpopular when in reality several ideas in this thread have been absolutely fine even if they weren't perfect. I wrote a math function that would only give you points between 0% to 50%, and you'd get from 1 to 5000 points! Huge range in terms of points, this gives you some value for lesser rare, but not much, and spam fest games are not worth anything at all. The trophy has to at least be a little bit rare to count! Some wanted 50%, so I started at 50%. It has a pretty steep curve that really takes off near the end, and I feel this actually ended up pretty fair. I had to play around a bit with the retardation rate, but it ended up at a pretty nice number. The function isn't the simplest, but it's actually surprisingly clean. If someone wants some change to it, like if it should be steeper or not, I can play around with it a bit more, but it does take some while, as there's a lot of math involved. But exactly those questions is what I wanted to examine by looking at the function. I wanted to check for saddle points and stuff. But it makes a good impression overall. I think it could be a bit less steem towards the end. Take the last step for example. You have 4600 points at 0.1% and 5000 points at 0%. There are only a handful of earnable trophies in that range, but they cover roughly 8% of the point scale. On the other hand, maybe because they are indeed THAT rare it is justified that they cover such a large portion of the scale, I dunno. I'll give it some more thought. It's a normal math function, no branching points or anything like it. In fact, it's created out of equations for some exact values I was looking for. If anything, I think more points could be invested into the latter part. :') But maybe there could be a cut-off threshold at 0.2%, or something, but I'm not too steady on doing this properly. I guess I could give some reasoning here for why that isn't even needed IMO. It comes back to what @Arcesius commented on, that I had blown almost all the points in the part closer to 0%. You need so much of what is below "rare" to be equal to what most of the more rare trophies are. Also, none of these trophies are going to be anywhere near trophy spam fest games. I think I calculated someone like ikemenzi (world 4th in terms of points) would get like 62500k points from 7/8 of their trophies. ? He also gets 700k from UR and 200k from VR. That's like around 1 million points total. You'd get more than 7/8 of his trophies from your very rare alone. Just guessing, but your UR would probably get you around 4 million? Yes, Hakoom and tusman would likely beat you, after all, they also got more URs than you. The real test is if stream_force does. I can do actual calculations on it later today. However, I can push the function a bit more in favor of rewarding those with high rarity, though I think it was a fine balance. Another way is to set 0% being worth even more points.
