Soul Calibur V was just a simple delisting, the servers are still up. Also, I believe Shank 2 was shutdown on schedule.

I think Shank 2 still works. About two days ago I booted the game up and was able to see leaderboards and start a multiplayer lobby. Probably worth someone double-checking.

Friday the 13th is unobtainable as the database server function no longer works. You can play the game but you cannot earn any trophies which require your stats to track across multiple matches.

It was too specific for it to be wrong.

 

Plus, the news surrounding Embracer nowadays made it believable.

 

Now if someone comes on here and said "every Battlefield game (including BF1, BFV, and BF2042) will be shutting down by the end of next year, trust me bro" then yeah that's bs.

Gonna hold my hands up and admit I was wrong for being skeptical, but at the very least I'm glad it's not fully shutting down. Would be one hell of a game to try and do if it was.

Because that was and is the reality. I don't lie and I don't spread misinformation, that's not my style (I mentioned Switch version too later down the line, on 227 page, didn't I?).

Yeah, I get it. But you also can't blame people for being skeptical, especially with information you get from the internet.

Yeah, and I thank you for it, it's very kind.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't expect people to believe me anyway because of "source: trust me, bro" thing. Well, hopefully that post gave at least someone a little headstart on this. I myself can't play the game, but I hope people can plat it before it's too late.

He did confirm support would be dropped, though the servers are on life support instead of being instantly shutdown.

I hinted at Switch version being FUBAR, if you read closely my second message on this topic. And now I can safely say that it was almost ready to go, too, but they dropped it because the game wasn't a smash hit and didn't have legs to support it.

And you're welcome to wait for the inevitable "hey, yeah, sorry guys, we're closing shop" down the line if you still think I'm full of it. I mean, no dev studio ever closed down servers soon after they stopped supporting their flop game, right?

TEDTalk incoming: I want to preface my concern about this with I have not played The Evil Dead game. I added it to my library with PS+ but really don’t have any intention of playing it. I have however, played all 3 other Evil Dead games, including completing Evil Dead Regeneration 26 times (and still being only my 2nd favorite game of all time, and almost getting a chance to have Bruce Campbell himself sign my pristine copy of the PS1 Hail To the King game. I’m a huge fan of the Evil Dead movies and show, and own multiple editions of each release, I have all of Bruce’s books, and 3 Evil Dead T-shirts.

 

That being said, I had no interest in this game solely because of its design. I’m not a huge fan of the 4v1 style games like all the recent horror icon releases of Predator, TCM and Friday the 13th. I love all those franchises, but am not a fan of this particular genre of games. I can see how they’re enjoyable for others, but they’re just not for me. I know I’m not alone with that sentiment, even if it is potentially a minority opinion. The game didn’t sell well though, and it could potentially be because of the genre of game it is. There have been so many 4v1 releases lately, as previously mentioned, and a lot of them have had lackluster releases or have lost support quickly. Add in that gamers are getting quite weary of Live Service models, and it was an obvious uphill battle to begin with for this game to do well. 
 

My concern is that we won’t get another Evil Dead game because of the failure of this one. Developers and publishers, maybe even rights holders, could see this as no one wants an Evil Dead game, and that’s not true. The IP is huge in the horror community. The Starz show got cancelled due to high piracy rates, but that’s partially/probably because not a lot of people wanted the Starz subscription for potentially just one show, myself included. I bought the physical releases when the came out, but not everyone even buys physical media anymore, and only doing that doesn’t support the show as much as viewer counts when it originally airs. The decisions of the show and the game to be how they are when they are can be a viewed as a form of gate keeping. I just hope that we can get an Evil Dead game in the same vein as the original 3: a single-player, maybe even co-op oriented, story-focused game about killing Deadites, time travel, wacky scenarios, Ash inevitably making things worse and having to fix his mistakes on top of the original problem, and gore. Lots and lots of overly excessive, hilariously disgusting gore.

No risks of closure or removals yet but Embracer just layed off multiple people at Beamdog. Their newest game Mythforce was just released on Sept. 12th

 

I haven't played this new game so unsure if it's online only or not. But the CRPG Remasters Beamdog has made a couple did have multiplayer tacked on which made the games easier as you could import characters not usually used at certain points in the games. Though multiplayer is not needed to complete their CRPGs trophies.

They going through "restructuring" of their entire portfolio. Basically they spent to much before they actually had the money to spend to obtain all these devs. Then on top of that with a couple supposed "Angel Investors" basically just dropping off the face of the earth before they even seen a cent from them and some failed launches like Saints Row Remake their in pretty rough shape financially.

The Original CoD Warzone that debuted in Modern Warfare Remake 1 was suppose to shutdown yesterday. Just looking to see if anyone can confirm one it shutdown and two if the Spec Ops mode related trophies that it used are indeed safe still.

Warzone 1 was an an entirely separate mode in the menus and wasn't added until 2020. You're fine, but WZ 1 itself is still accessible, they just removed the option from the menu, hence why the game is still 100+ GB.

Yep that's the trophy thanks. I thought it would be safe but just wanted to double check since it uses WZ files for it.
