Popular Post crimsonidol38
Game 5, Day 1: Hyper Light Drifter (PS4) Hyper Light Drifter, or in short HLD, is an action-adventure in 16bit-look set in fictive world where drifters are in search for treasures in lost ruins. You take control of one those drifters (let's call him..ehm... Dave). Unlike all the other drifters, Dave is not only searching ruins of long forgotten civilzations for treasures which he cansell for a good buck, but also for some medicine as he he's infected with a deadly disease and he's sure to find that medicine somewhere in the ruins. That's at least the story how I remember it when I backed this game back in 2013. Main reason why I backed this was the fact that the art design looked really appealing and I also enjoyed the music that was featured in the trailer (side note: which isn't part of the game at all ). Now, four years later I finally get to play this game (excluding the ~40 minutes I played of the beta back in 2014 or 2015?) and I have to say that I feel a bit disappointed so far. Nah, disappointed is the wrong word. I guess you can say, I'm not in the right mood for this game right now or maybe: The game starts off with some story sequences where Dave has some kind of dreams (?) about black creatures appearing out of the blood he coughs up and which try to kill him. Shortly after he awakens and finds himself back in reality. You now take direct control of him and have to make your way to some unknown place. Typical for an action-adventure you have some weapons at your disposal, although the only weapon you have right from the start is a sword, but shortly after you will also get some kind of gun, w While Dave makes his way through the ruins he is accompanied by one little floating bot which Dave can use to interact with some objects or to heal himself, if he have some spare medikits. Soon after you will find yourself in the first fight against one rather stupid enemy whom you have to kill with your sword, while using his speedy dash to dodge any attacks. Shortly after, you are introduced to the main design concept of HLD: Floors filled with large gaps. As you can imagine the old ruins and areas Dave explores have crumbled over the course of time and so many passageways aren't complete any longer. To make your across, you have to use the Dash-ability as Dave moves fast enough to make it across those gaps without falling. After making it across those gaps and traversing the areas a bit more the Drifter collapses. Soon after that he finds himself in the main town of the game, which seems to be some gathering point for all drifters, with various shops to enhance your abilities or to stock up on items. You can talk to the other drifters and the shop owners but the main problem is: You don't see any text boxes, but instead everything is told solely by pictures. I know it's a narrative decision but I have to say it's rather hard to guess what they want to tell you sometimes. Another problem I was confronted is which currency is used to buy upgrades or items. Shortly after I started to find some chests with small bits (?), which seem to be the so-called Gearbits. Collecting four of them seems to give you one unit of the currency which you then can use to buy upgrades, although all seem to require at least two currency units. After exploring the town for a bit I decided to explore the world. There are four main directions you can go to and as it seems, you can explore any of them as you wish to. I decided to take the eastern route which brought me to some aqueducts and temples in a lake-like environment. So far there weren't that many enemies but still I had my fair amount of problems as I tend to lose track of the enemies all around the drifter which makes it frustrating right now. I might have to give Remote Play a try so I have a better overview of everything. Similar to @MosesRockefeller I feel like this game could be much more enjoyable on the Vita for me. I only played the game for about 45 minutes but like I mentioned before I don't feel like being in the mood for this game right now. Can't tell why that's the case but I guess the main reason is that I feel a bit lost right now on what I have to do. It feels like HLD is a game where you to prepare yourself a bit before playing or otherwise you will regret it later on.
Popular Post crimsonidol38
Bonus Game 1, Day 1: Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma (PS Vita) Technically speaking, it's not the first game I play besides the KYC-games as I also started LEGO City Undercover about two weeks ago. But talking about LEGO-games is kinda boring (although City Undercover is real fun), but talking about the third installment of the Zero Escape-trilogy is surely fun. Like I said yesterday, I was eager to play this game, even though I felt like I wouldn't care for the game's ending at all. I won't go much into detail about the game's story but I will tell the basics: Zero Time Dilemma takes place sometime between the first installment 999 and the second one, Virtue's Last Reward. Zero Time Dilemma tries to show the player how the world turned out the way it did in Virtue's Last Reward. This time the story is divided between three teams of each three people who are forced to play against each other and who have to decide after a given amount of time which other team has to die by voting for them. They can't cooperate directly as they are all in seperate places. There's also a new feature that the story isn't linear and that you can change between the three teams any time and you can also play some of the different story-sections in any given order. After enjoying 999 and feeling a bit disappointed in the way how VLR compared to it (although it's still enjoyable most of the time) I have to say that ZTD feels like a completely different type of game and to put it nicely: A total crapfest. To remind you: 999 is more or less a mix between a classic Visual Novel (2D-sprites, 2D surroundings, textboxes) with puzzle-elements of a point-and-click adventure. VLR replaced the 2D-sprites and backgrounds with 3D-models and environments, but it kept the text boxes. Now Zero Time Dilemma takes this a step further. Instead of using textboxes to progess the story, the game uses cinematic sequences to tell you the story. It may be more appealing to today's crowd but I can't express the hate I feel for this decision they made. There are several reasons why this was a bad decision IMO: You can't forward those sequences: This wouldn't be the problem if they wouldn't talk so sllloooooooooooooooowwww. There's plenty of time to read the shown subtitles before the voice actors even start to talk. You can activate the option to fast forward even unread text but that doesn't really help as you have to look up everything in the log then. The pitch doesn't fit the atmosphere and it feels really monotonous. Even in moments when someone dies or feels pain they feel totally unmotivated, more like a cold robotic voice which is forced to show some emotions Awkward animations: Now I don't know if it's a negative point or a plus point but the animations, whether it be the movement itself or the use of gestures or facial expressions is quite stiff and awkward. It feels like someone tried to create a TellTale-like narrative but was only able to afford a trainee who just learned how to use Blender. Most of the time it feels like you are watching animatronics. A good example is the the following YouTube-video which contains one escape room and the story sequences that occur before and after that. I don't have to tell you that it contains some spoilers, but nothing too important (the scene is also rather at the beginning/one of the first you can play): Spoiler The part I'm talking about is mainly the section starting from 0:35. The moment where Carlos moves his head gave me goosebumps. I normally don't play horror games, but I guess this gives me similar kicks. As it may be seen in the video about the camera movement feels off. There are many scenes where you just wonder why they have to move the camera the whole time instead of holding it in one place. The unsteady movement is not the problem, but the whole aliasing and flickering textures (mainly the hair) don't really help to keep the motivation high. Cringeworthy dialogues Combined with the abysmal animations some of the dialogues are more than cringeworthy. There were some jokes in VLR and most were okay or acceptable. There were some annoying parts like Sigma and his whole "I'm a perv"-scenes. But the level so far has been quite bad (correspondingly): Oh, there's a baking mold. "I like to bake." "Oh, you like to bake? For $<random name>?. I'm sure you put some love into it". ($random name = crush of person) I'm sure there are many more reasons why I dislike the fact that they ditched the textboxes and replaced it with these cinematic sequences. Honestly, I wonder what they were thinking when they made up that decision. Did they try to appeal to the western audience? Did they see the success of all those interactive, cinematic adventures which was mainly influenced by TellTale and thought that they should give this a try, too? Now you may say that the way the story is presented isn't important, but for me it is. I can't sympathize with the characters if the way the story is presented is so off to the actual story and it more feels like the bad first attempt of high school students to start a film project. Heck, I even felt more sympathy for the characters in TellTale's Back to the Future although the animations felt off. About my progress: I spend about two hours in this game and besides the 10 to 15 minutes I spend in the Pantry, solving those puzzles, I was only able to watch the story sequences. I just hope that other story sequences will be better.
Popular Post JoaoQuique
Game Nº 7 [Mugen Souls Z] - Final Report Edunstar84's reviews: First one - Last one First Day Report: Click here Well, my intention was unlocking Mugen Field, Blast Off and Fever Time to see how is its money farming (the first "grindind action" on Mugen Souls Z can be money farming, to build stronger weapons/armor), but without improving Damage Carnival capacity, money gathered is not that much... (the best way to farm money in Mugen Souls Z is activating "Fever Time", allowing to send enemies to spheres placed on air only during Fever Time, where money drops each hit on that spheres - but que quantity of hits and money droped depends on limits of "Damage Carnival" because "I don't know why"...). To make things worse, to try reaching that point of the game, I was barely paying attention to game's story... In the other hand, while I was researching about this game, I've "discovered" that there is a way to avoid G-Ship battles, so in this game you can strike on Mugen Field with high bets (a high bet means more powerful enemies on Mugen Field, but while you can overpower yourself with strongest weapons/armor without depending on levels and/or story progress, G-Ship battles depends only on Shampuru gathered, which can demands a lot of time...) - so, if you want gather Mugen Points (MP), you can just do Mugen Field with low bets and gather a considerable amount of MP, and when you will try to achieve a trophy for "complete Mugen Field's 100th floor with maximum bet", just use "Assault battles" instead of G-ship battles (to unlock Assault Battles you must spent some tickets, but there is a free DLC which gives you some of them...). Summarizing, this game is a lot better, and A LOT easier than Mugen Souls - people who actually liked first game should play this game too. Playtime: Almost seven hours Trophies obtained: 7 from 50 (Completion at 10% - Rank D) Personal Completion: from 71,25% to 71,12% (71,08% after first day) Final Ratings: Graphics: B+ - this game's graphics are pretty cute, a lot better than first Mugen Souls, and well colorful. Sound: B- - the BGM of this game is well characteristic of this franchise - you can like it or can not... Gameplay: B - as Edunstar84 said, battle mechanics can be quite confusing for those ones that is not into this kind of game, but it is also better than first Mugen Souls... Replay Factor: B- - as a person which Plat'ed first Mugen Souls, Plat'ing this game will be quite simple and enjoyful. Trophy-wise: A- - besides this game requiring considerable grind, its trophy list is well-balanced: simple-tasked trophies, story-related ones, trophies related to optional bosses/stages, grinding-related tasks, etc. Hopefully collecting (almost) maximum amount of Shampuru is not required anymore... Personal grade:
Popular Post MosesRockefeller
Game #8: Orcs Must Die! Unchained Orcs Must Die! Unchained is the third game in a series. I played the first two on PC but the first one was on Xbox 360 I think. I was looking forward to trying the new game, although I was hesitant about the free-to-play nature of the game. I was mostly correct in my misgivings about the free-to-play elements of the game. Depending on your tolerance for that stuff, the game could range from not worth your time, to fun. It's been a while since I played the first 2 games, but IIRC they let you upgrade your traps substantially, in between maps. In this game, to perform any noticeable upgrades, you either have to pay real money, or grind like crazy. I don't mind some grinding... hell, I am a JRPG fan and grinding is basically a staple of that genre. But the grinding in this game is not enjoyable to me, and quickly feels like a chore. With the loading times and pitiful rewards for replaying levels, grinding gets old really fast. I really like the core gameplay of the OMD series, and I'm glad to see that it is still here. The game is a third-person shooter where you place down traps to stop orcs and their allies from making it to your home base, i.e. "The Rift". The shooter part comes in with the fact that your player character can move around the map, and attack the orcs with weapons, melee attacks, and timed magic powers. The free game comes with 3 player characters, and they play fairly differently. I have the most experience with the main dude Maximilian, so I mostly played as him. But I did give the other two a try also. Like most tower defense games, later waves get really tough, and even with a good array of traps set up, it is tricky to stop them. There are probably tricks and techniques to making the best kill zones with your traps, but I tend to just go with what seems good as I'm playing. I think going with the same set-up each time would make the grind even duller, but maybe that's just me. More efficient trap setups would probably make the grind go faster, but only within each individual match. Last night I got my first 5-star (the highest) ranking on the first map, and I saw that the rewards were pitiful - in my opinion doing so should reward you with enough rewards to upgrade 1 trap, but it is not even close. Besides going for a trophy, it hardly seems worth going for 5 stars. The upgrade system is a bit of a catch-22. It's easier to get higher rankings when you have better traps, but you need gold and skulls (the 2 main currency types) to get upgrades... and those things are awarded by getting better rankings. And as I noted above, the game is very stingy about handing out rewards, even with 5-star rankings. Two elements I did not evaluate are the Endless mode (where you fight off infinite waves of enemies until your rift falls), and multiplayer. There may be a competitive MP mode, but I know there is a cooperative one for 2-3 players. I will try that out at some point; I do remember having fun with a friend playing 2-player co-op in OMD 2. It's hard to pin down my rating of the game. I like the core gameplay a lot, but the slow-as-molasses progress at which you upgrade traps is too frustrating. I can get some mileage out of playing a match or two on a daily-ish basis, but at some point in the (probably) very near future, the load time of launching the game, getting through the login messages, and starting up a level, will no longer be worth the effort. I could spend that time playing a "real" game where the rewards are more substantial. At this point, I'm sad to say I'd be more excited to see OMD 1 become backwards compatible on the Xbox One, so I could play it again there (I never had a Xbox 360). One last note, if you do decide to try this game at some point, do yourself a favor and grab the PS+ free pack now. It gives you some in-game currency, skins, etc. to use with the game and it's available for one month from the release, so you have 3-ish weeks left for that. It should be available to anyone with PS+, and if you don't have PS+, you're doing it wrong. Playtime: 3 hours or so Trophies obtained: 4/44 Completion Percentage: 7% for an A rank Score: 6/10 My Plans after KYC: I will probably play the game a match or so a day, until I get too bored Next up: Bloodborne for PS4 Edited July 25, 2017 by MosesRockefeller
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Final game - Watch Dogs 2 - Day #1 I don't really have any expectations for this one. I played about 15 minutes of the first one and then something better came along that I played instead. This one is supposed to be better, but I won't really be able to compare it anyway. I booted it up this morning for a short time before going to work. Wasn't really a fan of the tutorial sequence, nor of the button layouts. I'm hoping that once I'm able to invest more into it I stop being bothered by the controls. Anyway, all I know is that you play as a hacker, and hack stuff. Let's see if there's a sufficiently interesting story to carry the game along. PS: I've been going back to Ride on and off over the course of this event, still enjoying it a lot. Finally got the online trophies out of the way as well, so that's a bonus. Edited July 25, 2017 by voodoo_eyes

Popular Post Hemiak
2nd day, 2ish hours? 18/46, 30% I fire this up and Mim immediately says "Oh this game" and goes back to the laptop. I play all three of the hidden levels I unlocked when I collected all of the Tokis. These levels are definitely a step up from the regular levels, but still not too bad. I was able to get through them without too much trouble and I made a discovery. I had been trying to time my button presses to the colored orbs, but if you just mash the correct color as the orbs are coming up you'll get perfect every time. I actually got diamond stars on two of the three hidden levels using this method, and then started the next story world. I played through about 6 levels before Mim had enough and I switched games. I was able to diamond 5 of those 6 levels with minimal effort, and obtained the trophy for earning 20% of the available stars. Along the way I was introduced to two new mechanics. One is a colored fan that blows upwards. If you are the correct color, the fan will shoot you upwards to collect orbs or reach new paths. The 2nd mechanic is called a chopper. It's a stick and leaf helicopter rotor, and when you grab it you immediately lift off, and then slowly return to the ground. You can also hit circle to let go and fall down. This technique is essential for collecting all the orbs in a level, as often times the chopper will carry you over them. I'll Mos toilet finish he 2nd world, and call it good for the event. This should be an easy one to go back and clean up afterwards, and I've got other games to play in the meantime. Speaking of.... Game 8, 2 hrs played. 5/43, 10% I got this game free on ps+ and honestly had no idea what it was. After a miniscule amount of research I determined it was a puzzle? game with UR trophies. While there are a few puzzles in the game that's definitely not how I'd classify it. It's actually an isometric exploration Platformer with light puzzle aspects. You start as a boy or girl, with clothes of red/green/blue/yellow. This is my kind of customization. There is no speaking or reading in this game. The few times the game explicitly tells you something it's just a simple picture. Everything is lined up on the diagonal plane so you initially get to decide whether pressing up makes you move up-left, up-right, or straight up. You can also use the Analog stick for free movement, but this makes certain things harder. I find myself using analog most of the time and switching to d-pad if I have to walk a thin line or make a precise jump. You start off looking like a normal kid, and you run into an arcade. You can freely walk around, but can't interact with any of the other kids or games. When you reach the back of the room there's a Tron moment and you get zapped and transported into a game world. Instead of a normal looking kid you now vaguely resemble a cross between Cartman from South Park and Vivi from FF9. The game is presented on a room by room basis. The area you're in is presented as a half cube. You can see the floor and two rear (from our perspective) walls, floating in space. It's kind of a cool effect and allows you to focus on exactly what you're doing at the time. Many times there are hidden exits outside the viewing area, more on that later. For starters all you can do is move and jump (barely). I head out the only door there and begin wandering. I soon come across blocks that can be pushed, but can't jump high enough to use them for anything, and continue on. After navigating around spikes and boxes I finally reach a room with a high jump power up. This allows me to clear spikes and get on top of one block objects. With this new ability I backtrack and am able to climb some blocks and reach a sheet of paper, which turns out to be a page of a map. We now have a map that shows us there are 14 floors, and in my floor 1 is filled in. The map shows some of the items of interest, doors, and elevators, but doesn't update if you pick something up, and doesn't show our position. It's not too much trouble to figure out my location though. While traveling I see purple water, spiked balls, ground spikes, and at one point a little robot. All of these kill with the lightest touch, and respawn me at the entrance to the room I'm in. I've spotted several rubber ducks along the way. They're always out in the purple water, and it takes me longer than I'd like to admit, to figure out that you have to jump on them, and bounce off them to collect them. Once picked up you have to make it to an exit to the room to collect it for good. If you die you have to go pick it up again. At one point I notice a suspicious ledge near some boxes. I jump across and am able to jump up on the rim of the area, which leads to a hidden room. In the room is a cassette tape and when I touch it I'm told I have 1/?? Tapes. I've found several of these rooms already, and they always either have a tape or a gold coin. Many are pretty obvious but I'm sure I've missed others already. At one point I find a gear, and am shown a picture of a wrench. Once I find the wrench I touch the gear and a treadmill starts moving, allowing me to navigate a room I couldn't previously. I've also had to find keys for doors, and a yellow gem for a statue, but I haven't actually used that one yet. Later I come across some incredibly aggressive and lethal spiders. There are small ones and very large ones. After searching around I find a staff, but it doesn't do anything. A bit later I find a lantern, which gives my staff the power of light. This has a battery level, and you have to find little glowing sprites to refill it. The light scares away the little spiders, and if you're full, the staff will shoot light at the big ones, which kills them outright. So far the game is pretty darned fun. The fixed isometric view can make some of the jumps a little hard to pull off, but in adventure mode you have infinite lives and instant respawn so it's not a big deal. I seem to have found 2 of the 4 main story objects, but having no actual story or dialog I'm not 100% certain of this. I'm really looking forward to getting back to this charming little adventure this evening. Edited July 25, 2017 by Hemiak
Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #9: Plague Inc. Evolved (Day 1) Plague Inc. is best described as a strategy game. Your goal in this game is to kill every single person in the world by creating a disease. You can play as different kind of pathogens like bacteria, virus, fungus or worm. There's a few more types but I can't remeber. First you can only select the bacteria. All other pathogens have to be unlocked by beating the previous one on at least normal difficulty. You also have challenges with a set them like an ape disease. There you have to transform averyone in an ape I guess. I haven't tried the challenges yet. I started with playing the tutorial to know what I have to do. First I choose a name for my disease. Using the random suggestions a few times gave me the very dangerous bacteria "Stubbornpox" We start the game by selecting a country to plant our bacteria in. The tutorial told me to choose China, so I did. Now you watch a world map waiting for people to get infected and eventually die. You get points for infected people and bursting bubbles appearing on the map. with these points you can upgrade your bacteria. You can upgrade the tansmission, the symptom of the disease and the resistance of your bacteria. When your disease is discoverd the world starts to research a cure for it. If the cure is fully researched it's game over. You can delay the research bu developping resistence agains antibiotics or by making it harder to reproduce in labs. With the symptoms you make your disease more dangerous. You can add some light things like coughing or fever but also injuries to inner organs. With specific cominations of symptoms you can unlock special symptoms like "The Walking Dead" or "Projectile Vomiting" These ar two I got but I have no clue with which combination. While waiting for your disease to spread random events occure. They can close (air)ports or borders, which makes it harder to spread your disease. You have an information screen where you can look up some things like ETA of the cure, which country is infected, which one is completely dead, what the countries do to fight against your disease and such things. After the tutorial was completed I tried a normal game. I created my infamous bacteria called "One Piece" It managed to kill about 4-5 billion people before a cure was found and the remaining 2-3 billion people got cured. IIRC only Canada was not that much affected by it. Time played: No clue. Maybe 1h Trophies: 4/55
Popular Post vin_rob
Game #4: Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious journey Day 17-20 I’ve played some other Atelier games a bit, but the previous game (Atelier Sophie) I did finish the story. I’ve played this game over the course of 4 days.. Based on the previous game the controls are pretty standard walking, running jumping hitting opening the menu etc.. They did add some new features to the alchemy formula. But that’s just helping you along making better items if you do this right so no complaining over there. At the start of the game you get in some tutorial that is explaining what to do.. But, the tutorial has a time limit. You have 30 in game days to complete some of the basic tasks, this is after you meet with Sophie. She will teach you how to work with alchemy and that’s how the game starts. Like in the previous games you have to complete tasks for the npcs. Final trophies 4 / 45 Percentage 6% If it wasn’t clear this game lowered my completion.. next game will be Danganronpa 1 . 2 reloaded for the ps4 6 hours ago, MarkusT1992 said: After the tutorial was completed I tried a normal game. Popular Post DamagingRob
Day 1- Dokuro Finally managed to put a little time in last night. I just didn't feel like playing anything most of the day.. In this one, you play as a little skeleton dude. Scenes with little to no text explain the simple story. Basically, you like the princess more than your Dark Lord, and set out to help her escape his clutches. Gameplay consists of platforming and puzzle solving. You'll move giant blocks to fill in holes in the floor, double jump to high places to active switches that raise gates, draw lines with the touchpad to connect objects, and more. There are also enemies that can hurt you or the princess, that you can attack and kill. A little later on, you learn how to transform into a prince. When in prince form, you can kill enemies faster, and carry the princess. But this only lasts for so long, before you have to let the ability recharge. Levels are fairly short so far, but there are a lot of them. Over 150! I've completed only 20, and already had to look up the solutions to a few. There is also a collectible coin on most levels. You have to finish the level after collecting it, though, or you'll have to do so again. Every so often, there's a boss fight, of which I only did one. Died quite a few times, as I could only take 2 hits.. Now, my health seems to have increased by a large margin. But I'm guessing the other bosses will be tougher fights. Or they just made the first one harder by providing the player with less health, for some odd reason.. Although, it isn't that hard, once you figure out what to do. But so far, it's pretty fun. I'm not really sure why I put it off for so long. Hopefully, I can make better progress today. Time played: Hour, hour and a half. Trophy progress: 3/31 for 4% and an E rank.
Popular Post Metal Slime King
Period 5 Wrap Up. Starting Completion - 87.03%. Current Completion - 83.01% Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove vs. Zotrix No contest, Shovel Knight wins this round hands down. Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove - 14% (11 of 42 trophies) - My personal rating: You play the titular Shovel Knight in this retro 2D action platformer. Travel the overhead world map to select levels to face off against the Knights of No Quarter in your quest to rid the world of evil and find your lost partner. The controls are good and the action is fun. Your initial moves are somewhat limited but they get extended through upgrades and sub weapons. The game is a decent challenge that most people won't just blast through on their first attempt but you'll have to really master the game to pick up some of the trophies. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes retro games but if you're into retro games you've probably already picked it up, lol. Zotrix - 15% (4 of 16 trophies) - My personal rating: Twin stick space shmup that is at best a boring grind and at worst a glitchy mess. Menus are horribly designed and awkward to navigate. I would randomly lose money between levels which is a big issue when you're saving for upgrades to actually damage the larger enemies. If there's a reason why I lost money it was never explained, I'd go through routes without dying and lose money, sometimes I'd die a few times (you get 5 lives every time you start a level) but still get money. I was looking for information on this game and read that trophies are glitched, like if you play arcade too much it glitches the quest trophies? I really can't recommend to anybody to pick up this game. B-b-b-bonus Round! Element4l - 25% (4 of 12 trophies) - My personal rating: Because there are 4 'elements', get it? lol. This is a physics based puzzle game for Vita that is currently free through PS+ so I picked it up. The puzzle is how to navigate the different levels to reach the objective point when your only method of moving is by changing between 1 of 4 possible states; Air, Ice Cube, Rock and Fireball. Changing into fire moves you forward (right) and changing into air moves you up but both those forms are destroyed if they come into contact with anything. Ice slides and rock rolls and falls faster. The levels are pretty challenging to figure out but the controls can be a little frustrating. If you die in a level and restart at a check point you obviously lose whatever momentum you had and that can make sections harder. 100% completionists be warned some of the trophies are UR even on our site, mainly it seems that the dev times are very hard to beat. Up next for me are Shadow of Mordor: GOTY and Until Dawn. Edited July 26, 2017 by mking_63
Popular Post JoaoQuique
Game Nº 8 [Handball 16] - First Day Report Since I'm trying to make a guide for this game, I'm also collecting some info, and I was doing some tests at all. Actually, I started just a few matches, to feel how much different this game can be, related to Vita version - well, (obviously) it is the same game, excepting inputs to do spin shots. However, I had not played this game too much to be able to describe about this game well, as I still do not know if this game glitches so much as Vita version... Today/Tomorrow plans: I will play career matches to collect information for my guide and a proper description to post on KYC... Playtime: about 1 hour and a half Trophies obtained: 9 from 26 (Completion at 17% - Rank C) Personal Completion: from 71,12% to 71,02%

Popular Post MosesRockefeller
Game 9 - Bloodborne - initial impressions So, a lot of you Bloodborne pros will probably laugh at this, but contrary to my expectations, my initial problem with Bloodborne was not the difficulty level, but getting stuck! I created a badass-looking character that vaguely resembles me (but unlike me, somebody that wouldn't lose in a fistfight to a 90-year-old wheelchair-confined great-grandmother with severe arthritis), and set off to start the adventure. The opening cutscene is pretty disturbing. I run past the first monster, but quickly die to the 3 humans in the next area. After spawning in a different place, I explore the Hunter's Dream area before warping back to the sickroom. I like the way the game has notes left around with hints (although the player-created ones are probably more useful for pros - they don't mean much to me yet), which Salt and Sanctuary also did in the early areas. Now I have weapons! So far so good. I defeat that first monster and 3 humans in the next area, but then I get stuck. All the gates I try to open are locked. By this point it was my bedtime, so I quit the game for the day. My time with the game last night was probably 30 minutes. Today as I'm at work, I'm looking at FAQs to figure out what to do next. According to this one, I'm supposed to pull a lever that I obviously didn't see last night. Since this game does not have an in-game map to my knowledge, I will use that FAQ so that I have an idea of where I'm going. I think I've complained about it in most of my reviews so far, but seriously: Developers, put in-game maps in your games. This is 2017 and almost every game needs them. Thanks. Since I'm on the subject, kudos to the games that did have in-game maps: Hell Yeah, Hyper Light Drifter, and Salt and Sanctuary. So far I'm liking the game just fine, but it's too early to tell. Hopefully I will make it to the first boss tonight. Edited July 26, 2017 by MosesRockefeller

Nevertheless I'd say they are challenging to a certain degree. I've run Demon's Souls up to NG+7 and only had a hard time on NG+1 as the difficulty spike was massive I have yet to finish Dark Souls 1 and 2 (haven't bought 3 yet as I'm waiting for the Goty edition to drop in price), I've beaten most of the bosses on either ot them though. There have always been 2-3 that have been a pain to get through, but after persisting I end up beating them most of the time. In DS2 it's been Smelter Demon and Mirror Knight that I've not been able to get past yet. Bloodborne is the one I've played the least of, got maybe a couple of hours in without getting much progress done. Had a hard time adjusting to the combat style as I'm way too used to the Souls games. I have to agree with Bloodborne being tricky to navigate through. There are far more branching paths and areas that have several levels to them, than in any of the previous Souls games. A map would have been useful in this particular game. I'll probablz have to start off from scratch once I decide to go back to it, as I'd have no clue where to go by now.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Final Game - Watch Dogs 2 - Day #2 Premise: Bored at work and posting this now will give me more time to game when I get home. So a win-win situation . So I played for a couple of hours by now, but didn't really make much progress as the missions seem to be multi-layered. The game has an optional online portion, which is enabled by default. So someone tried to "hack" me shortly after having finished the tutorial. This happened while I was trying to do a mission. Kind of annoying as I was close to completing it, but then had to search for the hacker instead. Found him hiding crouched in the bushes and shot him for interrupting my mission progress. This of course alerted the mission target that legged it and the cops as well, resulting in me having to bail until the cops gave up the search. Shortly after dealing with that nuisance I had someone else join my game. This time I could hack that person (takes forever btw), which I did and got myself a trophy. I spent most of my time trying to complete a side mission, which involves hacking ATMs and making people's lives miserable or more enjoyable iun the process. Currently hit a wall with that quest-line, as pme pf the consoles to hack the ATM with is on a rooftop... After running around for 10 minutes like an idiot, trying to find a way to get up there, I just looked it up. Turns out I could have spent eternity looking for a way up, as the vehicle (lift thingy on wheels, that I don't know the name for) didn't spawn where it was supposed to... So I quite the game and started it up again, and this spawned the vehicle. I thought I could finally get this mission over with, but I was wrong... Turns out I need to "learn a skill" in order to hack the fucking thing. So now I'm attempting to get a skill point (there are activities that give those around the map) and of course teh only one I can find is on a roof that would be accessible, if it wasn't for a locked door that I can't hack either. Probably need anotehr fucking skill point for that as well.... As you probably can tell, I'm not particularly a fan of this mission/skill system that blocks progress whenever it can. If you implement some nonsense like that, indicate on the mission select what skills are going to be needed, so I don't have to waste my time with it. PS: Watched the Ratchet & Clank movieyesterday. Was decent, but could have just as well done without it to be honest. Not nearly as bad as metacritic makes it out though (not that that is anything new).

I would have loved a video out option for it. But yeah, I think it's just one of those games I have to play a bit at a time. It gets tedious, when I can't figure out a puzzle, and have to keep watching the videos. Which has been the case for the majority of Stage 4.. I made it through Stage 3 without help, but this one's a pain. :/ 1 hour ago, voodoo_eyes said: The game has an optional online portion, which is enabled by default. I knew that the game has an online portion but it's good to know that it's enabled by default. So I know for sure what I will do if I boot up the game. And this thing about the skill system sounds rather annoying TBH: Seems like you can't really mix up story and side missions to have a little more variety but instead it reads like you have to focus on the story first to get enough skill points and later on you can do all that side stuff. Which reminds me of another thing that pissed me off, someone with a bounty was in my game (you hunt them down along with the police), I was close to getting him and the fucker just left the game. Why would it allow them to leave when they started the damn bounty? Yeah, it seems like it tries to push you towards the story, although there are skill points scattered around the map. I got one of them just fine (prepare for a lot of annoying puzzles throughout the game btw), the other one I found I can't seem to get to though. Whenever you feel like trying to get the online stuff out of the way, let me know. The guide on here seems to be out of date, as some of the methods don´t work anymore ever since the game got patched.

Hopefully, I can make better progress today. Time played: Hour, hour and a half. Trophy progress: 3/31 for 4% and an E rank. I have this game. Some of the levels are Nintendo Hard(I have to dodge flame jets and keep the princess from walking into them) but overall this is a cute game. I got to Level 8 for the Alphabet Challenge on (URL not allowed). I will probably restart this game on my bigger memory card so I can be consistent. The mechanics of the three types of chalk and changing between the skeleton kid who can double jump and the hero who can pick up the princess and keep her from having brain farts and walking into her death is fun. Popular Post Hemiak
Day 2, 5 ish hours, 14/42, 26% So I take my trusty Staff of Illumination and Spider Smiting (TM) and head back through the level. I finally find the gem I'm after in a dark labyrinth full of spiders. After backtracking, I approach the statue and place the thing. Lights flash, colors bloom... and the God Damn grim reaper dressed in purple appears in front of me. Needless to say I got the hell out of dodge through the nearby door that opened when I committed this grievous error. I'm partway down the hallway when Grim enters behind me, and the chase is on. There is a green glowing book on a pedestal at the end of the hall, and I figure if I make it there it'll help me defeat this monstrosity. He's catching up, but I should have time to make it before I'm caught. My little dude however has other ideas. When crossing a small bridge just before the pedestal he stops, turns around, and pulls a Gandalf. He raises his staff and slams it down on the bridge just as Grim steps upon it. This destroys the bridge, we plummet into the darkness, and Grim remains floating on thin air as he watches us fall. He then turns to the camera, and shrugs, before turning and leaving the room. I fall into a strange room in a kind of Limbo, and 10 coins are removed from my inventory. The room has no walls, a circular middle platform, and 6 walkways leading off in different directions. I choose one at random and exit the area. After navigating a small section with some moving blocks I'm transported to a tower and a timer appears on top of the screen. I start climbing but noob up pretty early on. After figuring out a better path I decide to just let the timer run out, as I'm not sure I'll make it on time. When the timer ends, I'm transported back to the middle area, and then completely out of Limbo. Whoops, apparently I only get one shot at it. When I'm transported back I shoot out of a purple rift, straight into Grim, who explodes into four mini Grims, who disappear from the area. Each one is a different color, which turns out not to be significant in the slightest. :/ Anyway I start exploring again and find myself in much more dangerous areas. Spikes of various types are more common, there are now electrified floors, ice, moving/rotating floors and pillars, lazer gates, and there are moving circular things of 4 different types. The first is white and blue. They slowly draw towards you, and simply bounce you backwards if you touch them. They bounce back too, and later there is an air hockey type puzzle where you have to knock three of them into a goal to open a door. The 2nd type are green and they either move back and forth, or in a pattern, to block your path. These are spiked and touching them immediately kills you. I don't think you can jump them, so you have to find a way to exploit their paths to get by. The next type is blue and moves in a straight line around the room, ricocheting off of walls. Every time it hits a wall it sends out a circle of death that expands until it is off the screen. The only dangerous part is the outer edge, so you just have to jump over this. The last ones are red. They behave erratically, moving in a straight line until they hit a surface, but leaving at unpredictable angles. These are spiked as well, but they will occasionally stop, and shoot out four fire streams while rotating. There are also wasps that float around and occasionally try to shoot you with stingers from their tail. They can also hit you if you are climbing or jumping high enough. At one point I find myself back in Limbo, and another 10 coins are removed from my inventory. I decide to try something different and head off in another direction. After another different block jumping room I find myself in an old school shmup type game, still with the isometric view. I shoot ships, turrets, and buildings, collecting little Zzap logos along the way. I lose one of my three lives, but make it through pretty easy. I'm presented with a large yellow T for my efforts, and two trophies. One for the T and one for collecting 64 Zzap logos. I make my way further and finally reach a room with a large cauldron and a floating purple book above it. The 4 mini Grims are all floating around the book, but otherwise not causing a problem. There are 4 doors open to me, and a 5th locked one. These turn out to be the final challenges of the game. Completing each path opens a number on the wall, and after all 4 are complete the locked door opens. On one path. you play a pac man like simulation, and have to use your staff to trap the 4 Grims in a Ghostbusters trap. I won't go into all of them but I unlocked the trophy for dying 250 times in one run on this final stretch. Once you go through the door there is a final series of puzzles to complete, and then the Grims leave the cauldron. Return to the cauldron, touch the book, and the game ends. I'm back outside the simulation, and run out of the arcade like a madman. I'm not able to interact or control anything at this point. I get to see a pond with 21 ducks in it, which is how many I was able to collect in the game. The credits scroll on the right and then I'm sent to the main screen. Hitting play again shows me a continue option, hmmmm. I hit that, watch my character run through the final door to grab the book from the cauldron, and the end starts again. Literally you have no control over anything, so not sure why they decided to include this continue, unless you reply want to watch the end again. All in all I had a lot of fun with this little game. Exploring and figuring out everything was pretty cool, though it definitely took a while to get used to the camera. Literally my only complaint of the entire gene is the camera, since it makes certain things much much harder than they need to be. That being said, the game is a throwback to old school games, so I understand why they did it. I started my 2nd run and I'm following a series of video guides to pick up all the cassettes, coins, and ducks, as well as completing all the miscellaneous objectives. It's amazing how much I missed in (now) plain view. There isn't a new game plus, so if you miss one thing and haven't backed up your save you could be hosed. I'm about a third of the way through again after about 45 extra minutes, and I completed my first run in about 5 hours or so. After this it'd time for Old School mode, where you can't save, have finite lives, and apparently a lenient timer. Sounds like fun. I'll just go ahead and give my final score now since I'm just doing cleanup at this point. Fun: 8/10 if you like this sort of thing, I could see some people absolutely hating this though. Good news is that the first trophy doesn't pop for a whole so you could give it a shot and see for yourself. Difficulty: game - 5/10, Plat - guessing 6-7/10

Anyway, if the second game is like the first, you don't HAVE to find the hacker... just ignore him and he'll succeed and the game will go back to what you were doing before. IIRC though, in the first game it would reload when the hacker invaded and left, so you couldn't just resume where you left off. I left the Online invasions setting on until I got those trophies, then kept if off the rest of the time I played.
