Most of the shows that I watch over are things that have already been completed like Dexter, Breaking Bad, Deadwood, The Sopranos and Justified. But I try to avoid starting something new until a season has been released because my schedule rotates and I don't want to get hooked on something and then have to work and miss an episode.
