Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #10 - Hitman: Blood Money (PS3) - Preview Developer: IO Interactive Publisher: Square Enix Genre: Stealth Price: 9,99 (just get the bundle with all 3 games for 14,99 instead) This is definitely not my first go at Hitman games.I'm fairly certain that I've played all of them except the very latest Hitman 2 reboot. However I played the HD ones, when they first released on PC over a decade ago. I remember those games being pretty good, so I have high hopes for that to still to be the case. I also remember, these games being quite difficult, if you went in guns blazing. So I'll probably stick to stealth throughout. I'll probably try my luck at the professional difficulty with silent assassin rating from the get-go. Thankfully I don't remember to be timed sections, so with patience it should be possible to get those done. This being my last game for the event, hopefully it'll still hold up quality-wise. If not, it would've been a pretty mediocre list of games for me this time around. Edited November 28, 2019 by voodoo_eyes
Popular Post AuroraHistoire
Game of the Year 2019? ~ Wargroove I have been looking forward to this game for awhile. I was first introduced to this game after seeing a video on the Many A True Nerd YouTube channel simply titled, Wargroove - Game of the Year 2019. I thought the title was a bit odd since it was flipping January. I admire the amount of confidence required to do that. I have been told that Wargroove is just Advance Wars, and that's okay. Advance Wars is a beloved game from my childhood and I've been waiting for another entry for 10+ years; is what I would say if Advance Wars was a beloved game from my childhood. I've never played Advance Wars before but it looks like the kind of game I would enjoy. Wargroove was saved for last because I expected it to be the best of all the games on my KYC 11 list. Many fantastic games have gone before Wargroove, so it will have to really impress me to come out on top. Pointless rankings aside, I'm confident I'll at least have a good time playing Wargroove.
Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #8: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 I played a lot of LEGO games so far including the first LEGO Marvel Superheroes. Each LEGO game consist of the same elements. There is a set amount of story levels with a lot to collect. At first you only have a few characters to use in the level before unlocking free play for that level. To get everything there is you have to replay each level in free play which allows you to use any character you want. The things to collect are character tokens to unlock new ones, a lot of studs (basically the money in LEGO games) to reach the True believer status and 10 minikits. What exactly the collectables are depends on the LEGO game. In LEGO Harry Potter for example you need to collect 4 house crests and get the True Wizzard status. Between the story levels you can explore the hub world. There you can collect even more stuff. In this game you have many small hub areas like Manhatten, Wakanda or Asgard. In the hubs you can play as any unlocked character to collect all the stuff. Each character has their own skills to solve the different puzzles that hide all the collectables. A nice thing is that each character has a litte bio you can read to learn a bit about that character and the first appearance in comics. I think I spent 30 minutes to read all the characters I unlocked so far which was quite interesting especially for the characters I didn't know yet. There are over 270 characters to collect I guess, but not quite sure right now. Story wise it's about Kang who mixed all the worlds together. But before that, the Guardians of the Galaxy were after Kang who landed on earth. Now the Guardians and the Avangers and probably many more superheroes try to stop Kang and his companions by following them to the different locations. Since I'm not that far yet I can't really tell any more about the story. I'm not sure what Kang's plan is and how it will play out. But the story isn't the main part of a LEGO game. It's more about the collectables and how to get them all, at least for me. Since I like Marvel more than DC and I also played both other LEGO Marvel games and got 100% in them, I'm looking forward to continue the game. So far it's just ok but that might change later during the game. At least you start with different characters than in the other games plus Spider-Man. He was in all three right at the beginning which is great because he's one of my favorites. Time played: Around 3h Trophies: 4/76 (4/46 from the base game) Rating: so far.
Popular Post Psy-Tychist
In Space We Brawl Time Played: 2 hours Trophies Earned: 0/18 - 0% Challenges Completed: 5/21 Completion: 62.17% - +0.17% In Space We Brawl is an exclusively multiplayer, single-player game. This seems like an oxymoron in terms, but it is the most accurate way of explaining the game. It has no direct story mode to complete at all and all the modes you play involve 3 other players which can be bots. The only other option is to play the challenges which are the tutorials for the game, wrapped up in giving you harder and more complex tasks that may prove useful in the other modes. The game has 3 main modes inside of the Arena Mode; Gladiator, Tournament, and Championship. Each is mostly self explanatory about what they involve but they can all be tweaked if you wanted to work in teams and setting certain win condition levels or difficulty of the bots (if you don't have any friends like me). The game when started has 13 different ships to choose from for your Brawl and eight different areas to choose from, each with their own hazards and chances of powerups appearing. With each area though, you can choose the size of the arena as well; Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, each of these being Small, Medium and Huge in size. So kind of like having 24 areas instead of just the original eight. Each ship has its own stats as well as a specific amount of special weapons you can mount on it too. There are supposedly more to unlock somehow, I am unsure how any progression happens in this game. When actually in a Brawl it is chaotic as all hell and very colourful. The ships are brightly lit and the arenas are evocative of the designs on the menu. Imagine Resogun if it was a cartoon and fit on one scrolling screen and you have no idea whether the colourful dots that appear are pickups or otherwise. That is my main issue with the fights that I am unsure of what I can pick up and what I can't. Damage is hard to distinguish unless there is a toggle I haven't found yet and the ships all do feel different. The ships however, all seem to feel like pushing around a biscuit through gravy, once you get moving it's fine but until then it just seems bogged down and heavy. If I had friends, this could be fun, like playing Duck Game, Towerfall or Starwhal, but the charm can't outweigh the fact that there isn't much else to the game. Unlike Duck Game which feels tight and each match moves at a brisk pace, this just slowly meanders in a confusing array of colours and dodgem style ships. It doesn't help that the trophies are all on the super grindy side (4000 alien kills, 2000 player kills, 1000 matches, 250 kills with weak weapons etc) and doing some unusual arbitrary tasks (Commit suicide 25 times, Complete 10 matches in 3 seconds etc). All in all, not a game I am inclined to continue with unless I want 18 UR trophies. Next Game: Everything
Popular Post PerryToxteth
KYC 11 Game No. 4 Playing Time: 3-4 hours Trophies Earned: 6/28 (16% D ranking) Final Thoughts: Ever worked in customer service and wished you could tell the patron how you really felt? Well, play this game and get that service sector aggression out! A macho guy getting in your face? Punch that MoFo in the grill! A chick being sassy? Cuss her into oblivion!! That's some of the gameplay in Out of the Box and although a bit one-dimensional, it was also quite entertaining. You begin the game as an ex-con, who desperately needs a legitimate job to appease his parole officer. You end up getting hired by a crime syndicate boss, who wants you to be a bouncer at his nightclub called "The Box." Your job, or the game's primary 'play,' is to let quality customers into the club, and keep the riff-raff out. The main screen for gameplay is a street scene filled with a line of people. You can go up and down the line and pick potential customers to interact with. Once you click on them, you can converse with them, ask for ID, kick them out of line; or, just for perverse fun, drill them in their f'ing face. The goal of the game is to earn money; the more people you let in the door, the more money you will make that night. BUT, your pay will be docked if you let in underage kids, ruffians who start fights once they get inside, or druggies who overdose in the bathroom (that actually happened. I lost the game bc of that scenario happening?). So your cut for one night's work might be $400, but fines, lawsuits and hospital bills can drastically pare that down. You need enough money at the end of the week to pay basic living necessities like rent and child support, and extras like a gym membership (you need to stay strong to kick some ass!). As the game progresses, more things get thrown at you to manage. There might be VIP's that need to be let in, special events requiring tickets, and upheaval in your line. If you let things get out of hand in line, customers will leave. I got about halfway through the game, and it was still fun. There is an arcing story in the game, so after a night's work, you go into a dialogue screen with various characters. That helps propel the game forward as the actual gameplay is pretty one-dimensional. But it's far boring! My last night of work, I had a customer call me an "asshole'" so I was able to tell them to "Fuck off," and left them with a black eye. As a former bartender, I wish I could have done that every other week! I earned a couple trophies; most seem to be tied to numbers (let 100 people in, punch 20 people, etc.). There are a few tied to different endings, but I don't think you need to redo an entire playthrough. I think you can restart about halfway through and finish with different choices. But we'll see; I'll send updates as I play this out next month. Final Grade: Next Up: Fe
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Another quick update, this time regarding The Council. Finisehd the game and got the plat. Story does a complete 180, as I feared. Which bummed me out quite a bit to be honest. Another thing I forgot to mention previously, is that the accents are very poorly done. Nevertheless it's still a , just because it averages out that way. Episodes 1-3: Episodes 4-5: It really feels like they ran out of money from Episode 3 onwards. It gives the impression, that they went in a completely different direction than what was planned.

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #10 - Hitman Blood Moneu (PS3) - Final Impressions Time played: around 3h Trophies earned: 4/25 In case I don't have time to return to the game today or write about it, I'll do so now. Graphics are fine for a PS2 title. It's not the prettiest game, but it doesn't need to be. Animations are a bit odd at times though. Anyway, this game shines with the gameplay. As an contract killer you are put in a location and need to figure out a way to kill the target. For that you get your standard loadout of coin, poison/sedative syringe, bomb, detonator and fiber wire. Additionally you can take weapons with you as well, having to keep in mind that larger weapons can't be concealed. Since I've been going for the Silent Assassin ratings on the highest difficulty, I haven't even been taking weapons with me. Speaking of SA ratings... to get that rating you can only kill the assigned targets, can't be detected, bodies can't be discovered (unless accident), don't leave weapons behind that you took with you and you need to exit the level with your suit. You also can't save at any point during a mission and there are no checkpoints, which means doing it right iin one go. Having followed the guide on PSNP, for the first mission, it never gave the me SA rating, but specialist instead. Conclusion guide on here is absolute arse, maving me waste over an hour by trying it the indicated way and giving me a different result every time. I went with another guide instead, and it worked first try, and have had little problems getting consistent SA ratings since. Sometimes the interactions of taking someone out or fiddling with a potential accidental death get a bit fiddly. This can become a problem as every character in the missions is on a rotation that htey repeat eventually. Missing your first opportunity will have you wait at least 5 minutes for another shot at it. So far I've finished the first 3 missions with SA rating on professional difficulty (+ tutorial). I'm still going to try and get a couple more missions done today, we'll see. The game itself still holds up fairly well today and has a decent amount of replay value, as there are several ways to take out your targets. Definitely a and if it was a bit more polished in a few areas, it would get a higher rating. So that concludes this KYC round for me. I'll do my usual summary tomorrow. Popular Post dizzyshadow
Game 8 : Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes Keep talking and Nobody explodes is an exclusively couch coop game, with the the slight oddity that your partners don't need to be in the same as room as you they only need to speak to you and have access to the internet. The game is about diffuseing bombs, one player is the diffuser and they are the only one who can see the bomb. the other are the experts who have access to the manual. The diffuser must describe the bomb to the experts who must read the manual and give instructions to the diffuser on how to disarm the bomb. If you have VR then the diffuser wears the headset and the experts access the manual on the TV screen, without VR the bomb is on the screen and the experts view the manual on their tablet or phone (off the internet no connection is needed to the playstation, hence they can be in an entirely different location to you). Personally i found the VR to just be a distraction so i much preferred flat screen mode. Bombs are made up of modules (up to 11 of then) each must be tackled separately within the time limit of the bomb. There are about 10 different types of module, which range from things like cutting the right wire, pressing buttons in the correct order, decoding passwords etc. The manual is very well written in my opinion, it always clear what needs to be done, but its written in such a way that it takes longer than it should to decode, and its very difficult to memorise any solutions so even after you've done a large number of bombs you are still not sure what the correct steps are without the help of the experts. That is what really makes this game. Overall its a great part game, and a novel coop experience. There is also a decent challenge as well, by the end of the game the bombs do rank up in difficulty significantly (particularly if you are playing with just 1 expert. Popular Post Arctic Cress
Game #9: AI: The Somnium Files Playtime: 5 hours Trophies: 9/45 (15% - E) AI: The Somnium Files is the newest title from Kotaro Uchikoshi, creator of both the Infinity series and the Zero Escape series, of which I've played all the games on the series (I played 999 on the DS, so it's not on my profile). When I heard about that, I was definitely going to play this one when it came out. AI puts you in the shoes of Kaname Date, a member of the Advanced Brain Investigation Squad of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. He is a Psyncer, who can explore the dreams of others via a machine. This dream area is called Somnium, like the title. This area can both produce memories and other secrets that the person in the Psync is either trying to hide or may have subconsciously hidden away due to various reasons. So far, I've made it to day 4 and the story has recently taken a very dark turn. I obviously will not be spoiling anything about what has happened at this point. The game has a few different modes that it cycles through. There's an investigation phase, and if you've either played Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney or Root Letter you know what to do here - investigate any suspicious objects around and talk to people to gain what they know about the case you're working on. Then there's the interrogation phase, where you present evidence to a potential culprit or witness to get them to open up to you. There's a shooting phase for a few scenes, but they don't involve any actual shooting - just a few QTEs with a bit of aiming. Finally, there's the Psyncing phases explained above, where you dive into a person's subconscious. Several objects are present when Psyncing, and you must figure out how to utilize each object to remove a person's mental locks on the event they are hiding. Performing an interaction on any object during a psync takes several seconds off the clock, and you only have six minutes (in-game) to do so. During the Psync, you have to find out how to remove the locks while still staying under six minutes of time. The last psync I did had me under thirty seconds left with four mental locks, so it was definitely close! As I said before, I won't spoil anything, but after reading many of Uchikoshi's past works the turn that this has taken wasn't entirely surprising, but I'm definitely interested in continuing the story, obviously. This will probably be the first game I go back to unless Shenmue III completely wows me, and given what I have already done with it - I highly doubt that. Anyway, if you've liked any of the games in the Zero Escape series you definitely have to check out this game as well. Starting completion: 71.83% Current completion: 70.35% Difference: -1.48% Sword & Fairy 6: 6/46 (10% - D) Super Neptunia RPG: 6/36 (10% - E) YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World: 6/41 (10% - E) Crystar: 14/51 (20% - D) Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night: 7/45 (10% - E) Worldend Syndrome: 1/23 (1% - E) Team Sonic Racing: 12/52 (17% - D) Zanki Zero: Last Beginning: 2/38 (2% - E) Doesn't look like I'll hit under 70% this time, but that happens when you play other games during a KYC and get three platinums when doing so. Anyway, Shenmue III is the last game on the list and I'll spend time doing that today, and finish up my write-up before the end of the day. I'll be back in this topic soon.
Popular Post AuroraHistoire
You Either Die a Hero or Die Needlessly Because Your Commander is Incompetent ~ Wargroove A dog would command a army better then I could. Wargroove is a very good game. Wargroove is a turn based strategy game. Your main objective is to either defeat the enemy commander or take the enemy base, while the enemy tries to do the same. There are other structures to capture along the way, that give you more gold per turn or allow you to recruit more units. You use gold to recruit units or heal. The units that cost the most gold, are usually very strong but every unit can get countered by another type. I saved my gold for a dragon just to have it get 1-shot by a ballista in a ghillie suit 6 squares away. Your units don't have names, back stories or the potential to sire children, so you don't feel bad when they die and restart the mission 27 times so they live. Your opponent has the same unit types (they look different but they the same statistically) so everything is fair. Your commander is also on the battlefield and they're very strong. They charge a special ability called a 'groove' by waiting around and taking part in battles. Grooves are active abilities that are pretty strong and every commander has a unique groove. If your commander dies, you lose the battle, so be careful. Wargroove has a lot of content to mess around with. You have a standard story mode, arcade mode, puzzle mode (I didn't unlock it), local multiplayer, online multiplayer (with a online trophy that requires a quick boost to get since nobody plays the online), a level creator, a creator that allows to create your own campaign and the option to download other people's custom levels and campaigns. Wargroove gives you plenty to do and the trophy requires you to master the game. I had a lot of fun playing Wargroove. I enjoy strategy games that have both sides playing by the same rules. I'm not very good at Wargroove and that's okay. It took me 3 tries to beat the first part of a arcade run this morning and I was having a blast. I got to see a few new unit types and learn how they work. The only part of the game I don't love is the plot. So far it has seemed very generic but I haven't gotten very far into yet, so it could get better.
Popular Post dizzyshadow
Game 9 : Frostpunk I didn't get a lot of time with this game, however it certainly didn't leap out at me as something i want to play more of immediately. In frostpunk global cooling has taken over and the ice age is upon us, you take over a band of survivors who are heading north in england in search of reactors that were built by the british empire to prepare for this eventuality. As the game starts you found a city at one of these reactors. Your job is to ensure the city thrives and people survive. this is much harder than you may first imagine. the game is an RTS with the focus on resource management, I haven't come across any combat but i can't guarantee it doesn't appear later in the game. The nearest comparison i can think of is the ANNO series of games. You job is to manage your workers to ensure you have a steady supply of food and coal to keep your people alive. However even that is challenging as things soon start going wrong, people fall sick and possible even die they will make demands and its up to you to ensure these are met otherwise morale will fall and eventually you will be kicked out as leader. Coal is the key resource in the game as its used to keep the reactor running without this things go south pretty quickly. There does seem to be a lot of depth here, it models a full day/night cycle with work shifts, weather plays an impact (the colder it is the more coal you will need), and there are some good trade offs you can make, passing laws which will your city more productive but sacrifice happiness or vice versa. I failed my first attempt pretty badly, so we will have to see what challenges await when you progress further in the game. But for now its only a Playtime: 2 hours Rating: Trophies: 0/10 Completion : 60.24%
Popular Post SixyLove
Review + Event Overview Trillion: God of Destruction Playtime: 5 hours Trophies earned: 12/36 18% Story One day Trillion, the god of destruction, is trying to destroy the underworld because Trillion is a big dumb monster who's only purpose in life is to destroy things. The current ruler of the underworld doesn't want that to happen, so him and his brother go out to try to kill it. They both die. This Faust girl of mysterious origins necromages the ruler of the underworld (I forgot his name and don't care enough to look it up [It's not Satan}) and tells him to go kill Trillion but not suck this time. Faust gave "not Satan" a crap body, therefore he can't do it himself. You train one of the 6 deadly sins to do it instead. The six deadly sins can't attack him at once because Trillion smells so bad, getting within a mile of him is lethal, and the underworld doesn't have any air fresheners. Faust brought one magic air freshener with her that will teleport back to her if the last holder dies. The rest of the story is just trying to train your chosen deadly sin and trying to kill Trillion. Gameplay Most of the game in=s spent in a menu. You can choose to train, relax and do a bunch of other stat/equipment things. The game has a day go by if you decide to train or relax but nothing else will use up a day. Training gives you experience points that you can redeem for stats. Relaxing lowers stress, raises affection or gives you money depending on what option you pick. The game has actual gameplay. It's a dungeon crawler. You move around a grid while enemies do the same. You have a basic attack and abilities that use affection or magic points. Affection is both hit points and magic points and you use it instead of your HP or MP if you have some. You only dungeon crawl when your in the Valley of Swords, fighting Trillion or an event happens where you have to fight somebody. The Valley of Swords is a one floor dungeons with some enemies and loot. You need 5 Valley of Swords tokens to access it and you get those from training. Your only allowed 120 turns in the Valley of swords before you instant fail and lose all your loot. The majority of your time will be spent fighting the practice version of Trillion or the real thing. The practice version is a bit easier but still very difficult and not fun to fight. The real Trillion is harder and has a Trillion HP. If you lose, the deadly sin you have been training dies. You can run if you still have affection points and live. Trillion will destroy part of the underworld after your battle. If your deadly sin dies, you lose all your equipment but some of the experience points get transferred over. You keep playing until all the deadly sins die, Trillion destroys all of the underworld or you win. Graphics and Sound The game uses really big numbers for statics. You have Trillion with 1,000,000,000,000 hp and your sins starting stats are in the millions. Sometimes they shorten the numbers (use 1,000k for 1 million) but sometimes they write the whole number so it's very confusing. They don't put a comma every 3 digits either. Everything else visually is fine. The opening theme is good and the rest of the music is alright. Trophy Thoughts I think you need to beat the game 9 times and Trillion has 3 forms apparently. I'm not finishing the whole list, ever. Final Thoughts Trillion: God of Destruction is not fun. You do the same boring thing over and over again until your strong enough to fight a boring boss. I don't care about the story at all. I don't want to ever play this game again. Event Overview Overall, the games I played were alright. I didn't get to play every game as much as I would of liked since I've been busy will life stuff. I'm sure my completion rate has taken a critical hit for massive damage since I haven't finished or even come close to finishing a single game. Let's check my completion rate now. I started at 57.27% and I'm currently at 56.61%. I expected lower but I have over 300 games so, it takes a lot to hurt my completion. Mary Skelter: Nightmares, Code: Realize - Future Blessings and Cosmic Star Heroine will probably get finished or close. Puyo Puyo Champions might be played a little here and there but I have zero plans on completing the whole list. I would take Trillion: God of Boredom out back and test my homemade flamethrower on the cartridge but it's a digital download. Mary Skelter: Nightmares - My favorite game of the event. I've had the most fun with it and was the most challenging while also being fun. I believe the digital version is on sale for a few dollars right now. I'll probably get the platinum trophy for this game because I like it that much. I forgot this a trophy hunting website, so that doesn't really mean much. I've basically retired from trophy hunting between KYC 10 KYC 11, so going for a platinum now, is a big thing for me. Cosmic Star Heroine - This is a close second. The game is really good and does very little that annoys me. The story is a bit fast but everything else is great. I may get the platinum for this one too; it depends on how much work I have left after finishing the game. Code: Realize - Future Blessings - It's a visual novel that I enjoy. I does nothing wrong, everything above I just enjoy a lot more. Visual Novel are typically simple games to 100% but if I miss a glossary word, I'm not wasting my time to search for it. Puyo Puyo Champions - I'd rather play Puyo Puyo Tetris. Trillion God of Destruction - I'm never going to touch it again. Overall, the game is alright. I got for next to nothing, so it's a huge loss. I've spent more money on worse games but I would rather spend my limited free time on games I actually want to play.
Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #9: Ether One Ether One is a walking sim with some extra stuff to do. You work for the Ether Institute of Telepathic Medicine as a restorer. Your job is to enter the minds of people diagnosed with dementia. Your current patient is Jean Thompson, a 69 year old woman. After entering her mind you can explore a town called Pinwheel and its surroundings like the mine and the insustrial area. Your main goal is to collect the lost memory fragments represented by red bows scattered throughout the area. There are 8 of them in each area. After finding all of them you can enter the core memory where you have to take some pictures. Rinse and repeat for all the other areas of Pinwheel and you are done. Besides the red bows you can find broken projectors lying on the ground. Those can be repaired by completing three "puzzles" normally located near the projector. One of those projectors included completing a letter by filling out what to order and the amount, bringing the letter to the post office and returning the order to the house. Another one had you complete an ore transportation. After repairing the projector you can view a short audio log about past treatments of Jean. I think the projectors are completly optional for the story completion but not for the trophies. Throughout the world you find some letters or other notes that tell you what happened in the past. That's almost all you learn about the story. The only other info you get is through some monologue from your instructor who allways tells you how important it is that you're doing a good job in this case. I heard that the game has some bugs and crashes often. In all the time I played so far I didn't encounter any bugs or crashes. All in all I enjoyed the game so far and completed 2 areas out of 4. The first was Pinwheel harbour, after that I went to the Industrials. The harbour was a light compact area whereas the Industrials was darker and more mazelike. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Final Overview Alright, it's time for me to do a roundup. 11 games in total for me (with the 2 in 1 deal) and a few more on the side. A somewhat balanced list in the end, with some highs a few lows and a lot of mediocrity. Not a single must play this time around though. Worth playing: Hitma: Blood Money - It's just a fun game with a lot of variety. The controls are a bit wonky when it comes to precision, but that's pretty much the only issue it has. Torment: Tides of Numenara - I suppose it's a good successor of Planescape: Torment. Personally not on the same level as other CRPGs, due to it being it's own subgenre in a way. It's much more focused on narration and character development and as result the combat falls falt. The Council - Starts out good and then it goes completely of the rails. Had some really cool ideas, and the character intearctions are interesting. Get on a sale: Yomawari: Midnight Shadows - It's a neat game, that unfortunately failed to improve on it's predecessor. Ghost Blade HD - It's fun while it lasts. Doesn't really have replay value, and is on the short side. Yooka-Laylee - It's a fairly generic 3D platformer, with way too many collectibles. For those who love 3D platformers, this may have ended up on a higher tier, I'm not one of those people though. Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into: Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner - Farily bland mech action with a terrible targeting system. Pure mediocrity from start to finish. Iron Crypticle - Underwhelming twin-stick shooter, with roguelike elements. Gets boring quickly, but at least there's local co-op I guess. State of Mind - Quite clunky overall. Main character is a dick and all other chracters are detestable. Plot is nothing new and was done better in a handful of other games. Don't have to worry about that one anymore: The Legend of Korra - It's dull, has no depths and also ain't got a story. Good news, you can't get it anymore. If you already have it, leave it alone. Just no: Elea - It's a waste of space that takes place in space. What I played on the side turned out to be more enjoyable, for the most part. Battlefield 1 - Very mediocre FPS. The campaign was dull and the load times were excruciating. Same goes for the MP, which is boring and poorly balanced. I booted this one up with the intentions to get thee plat, but after doing the first mission for hte collectibles I realised that I had no patience to deal with the load times. Dishonored 2 - Still great fun. Started a new playthrough with no powers and high chaos for collectibles. Trine: Enchanted Edition - A former KYC game that I only played about halfway through. Finished the story this time around. Bloodborne - Played it, loved it, platted it. Best game on the system for me. Still playing it and NG++ by now. Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep - Long ass name for a short ass game. Under 3 hours long and fairly meh I guess. It looks nice though, but the combat is kind of abysmal. Finished the story and I'm good with that. Word Search (Vita) - Just a time killer. It's meh, but does what it's there for. Far Cry: New Dawn - Fun game so far. It looks and runs great. Enemies are a bit too aggressive though. Only played little of it, but so far it's solid. Not sure what I'll be going back to from this list and at what point in time. Definitely not returning to Zone of the Enders 2nd Runner, Iron Crypticle, Ghost Blade and Legend of Korra. Those just aren't worth my time. 4 of the gamesare already finished, so that leaves 3 from this list. I might return to Yooka-Laylee first though, to see how far I can be bothered to take it. For now I'll be focusing on a few other gams though. Edited December 1, 2019 by voodoo_eyes
Popular Post DamagingRob
Game #10, Final Review: NieR: Automata Well, I fought a naked dude with no genitalia in this game. Never thought I'd say that. Other than wanting to see what crazy shit happens next, the music is the real highlight. Incredible soundtrack. So, you play as 2B, a female android. Joined by 9S, a male android. And I guess you're taking out machines who have been deemed as threats to mankind. But while they're supposed to not have feelings, you start to get the idea that they're wrong about that. The naked dude was basically created by them as a means to protect themselves from being destroyed, when 2B and 9S slaughter a whole bunch of them. The prologue is best played on Easy, trust me. I died and had to restart from the beginning, because you don't have an opportunity to save until it's over. Not a great way to start things. But after lowering the difficulty, I finished it on my 2nd attempt. Gameplay is mostly hack and slash, with some shooting segments in a flying mech. For the hack and slash stuff, you can either get in close, or attack from a distance by shooting with . You can shoot while melee attacking, but it can be tricky to do that and dodge enemy attacks with . You also equip two melee weapons at once, pressing for one and for the other. And you have a special attack that takes time to recharge, and is activated with . The shooting segments are basically fly around and shoot, while dodging enemy projectiles. You can also get in close, and melee attack in the air. You have a special attack for your mech, as well. There are a lot of different enemies, and types of robots. Some with shields, forcing you to melee attack them. Some that fly and fire projectiles, where melee attacking would probably be a bad idea. Animals, that I think you can ride, though I was unsuccessful with my bait. Moose and giant boars. You level up with XP from fighting, and get materials/money from fallen foes. Then you can buy new weapons and upgrade them. Shops also sell healing items, items that provide temporary boosts, and chips. Chips provide different boosts and are permanent as long as they are equipped, but you only have so many slots. A very interesting mechanic, is you will find the bodies of other players who died. And you can absorb them for health and some temporary boosts. Or revive one and have it fight alongside you. When you die yourself, it seems to be a bit like Bloodborne. Where you can get your stuff back by going to where you died. You'll get to fight on top of a moving roller coaster in a theme park, slide around on sand in the desert, and it looks good. And 2B is constantly showing off her... derriere. Don't look at me like that! It's always in your field of view! Especially if you self destruct, and blow off her skirt. Yeeeeah.. You can also fish. It all seems pretty awesome, but there is one thing I'm not a fan of. The map is sooooo huge, and there doesn't seem to be a fast travel option yet. Running everywhere is getting a bit old. There are a lot of sidequests, so travelling is a must. If you can ride those animals, maybe that's how you're supposed to get around faster? But then the map itself is not great. Trying to get to an object on it shouldn't be so difficult. Eventually gave up, after realizing it must be underground or something. But those are pretty minor complaints. Game is at least on par with Prey for my favorite from this installment of KYC. Will be interesting to see which one edges out the other in the end. Score: . Time played: 7+ hours. Trophy progress: 6/48 for 8% and an E rank. Completion Percentage: 91.49% (-1.11%) Hey, I actually lost over a percent this time. I'll probably do a roundup tomorrow. Update: NieR: Automata is basically done. Just sitting on the final trophy for now. But I'd say it has elevated to a , putting it above Prey. NieR perfection. It does still have some problems, though. No game is perfect. It did open up fast travel, and I was able to ride the big animals. Which fixed some of my initial negatives. But it still felt like I was running around and backtracking all over that map a million times, to the point that I had no desire to level up all my weapons. Would have had to farm items and deal with RNG drops, too.. Easier to just buy the trophy, and watch the final ending on YouTube. Another thing I disliked that I noticed someone point out in the Game Awards thread, is these sections where you're... somewhat disabled, I guess? One in particular is very aggravating, since you are trying to get somewhere in a certain amount of time. But enemies will knock you down over and over and over, slowing you down a lot. And when you're in your hobbled state, you can't jump or run, so you're stuck sitting around and waiting till you can at some points. But the enemies don't care, and they may make you miss your opportunity by knocking you on your ass, when you should be finally jumping up to the higher area. But the story more than makes up for any shortcomings. Like damn, is it good. And the true ending is a thing of beauty. I wasn't crying, shut up! Popular Post Arctic Cress
Game #10: Shenmue III Playtime: 3 hours Trophies: 3/64 (3% - E) Shenmue III is the latest entry of the Shenmue series, eighteen years after the release of Shenmue II back on the Dreamcast. Honestly, except for the graphics, it feels like it could have been released a few years afterwards given how the game plays. As with the rest of the Shenmue series, Shenmue III follows Ryo Hazuki as he continues his journey to get revenge on Lan Di for murdering his father. Shenmue III starts with the ending cutscene from Shenmue II (which is understandable given the time between releases) and has Ryo finally entering Bailu Village. In there, he learns a group of thugs have been attacking the village, and Ryo decides to ask around to try to find out where they might be hiding. If you've played a Shenmue title before, you'll know just what to expect for a while. You'll be talking to a lot of people for information on where to find someone, then watch a cutscene or two, then go back and continue talking to people to find out more information. I have nothing against dialogue in video games, but it does get tedious after a while. At least all dialogue continues to be voiced as it was in the previous games, and most characters sound a lot better than the laughable acting in the first two games. Ryo's voice actor is still deadpan as usual and I really wish they would have recasted him as well, but that didn't happen, unfortunately. Fighting in the game is expanded a bit with the new controls that the PS4 can use. now allows you to use a special move without any button combination, so you can utilize Tornado Kick or Elbow Assault without relying on its button combination (both of which use 3-4 buttons to pull off and can be difficult at times). is no longer the guard button either - it's now used for additional attacks, and the button replaces it there. This allows for a more in-depth combat system. Ryo can level up his moveset by sparring with others, and there's two people already in Bailu Village that he can do so with that I've found. There's also a training area where Ryo can upgrade his endurance which, combined with the level-up of his combat moves, averages out into an overall kung-fu level. Unfortunately, the fighting still seems sluggish compared to other games with a similar system, so it hasn't improved much from the previous games in the series. The first real battle took me a good few tries to actually get past to continue the storyline as well. I haven't gotten too far into the mini-games yet, but there's a bunch of gambling games in Bailu Village already. Had to do a few to continue with the storyline and none of them have been that interesting to keep playing at them. Though it looks like you can still save beforehand and cheat to get money if needed, so I'll probably do that when I come back to this, like I did in Shenmue II. Anyway, if you liked the Shenmue titles you'll definitely find something to enjoy here. I'm not as impressed since I have no nostalgia for the old titles (since I just finished them this year) and the lack of advancement the gameplay has made really does bug me. Popular Post MidnightDragon
Time played: 10 1/2 hours Trophies earned: 9/13 This is essentially old school Oregon Trail meets the zombie apocalypse. It's quite enjoyable and it brings back some great memories. You're traveling from the east coast to the west coast to avoid the zombies. You have a junky station wagon (though you can unlock others). You can upgrade it by either buying upgrades (more reliable) or finding things randomly. In my first game, found one upgrade, had to buy the rest. The car deteriorates over time and you'll have to fix it either with spare parts or scrap. Some of the upgrades negate the use for spare parts.. You can also buy, trade, and, unlike in the original Oregon Trail, sell stuff. They even made the hunting minigame. However, instead of killing for food, you're scavenging for supplies and can shoot the zombies. Scavenging pretty much is your lifeline since most of the shops are expensive. Sometimes you'll see other survivors come to steal the supplies while scavenging. You can kill them to prevent that or to get the supplies back if they get them. The controls are very similar to hunting in the original game. It does take a little getting used to, but it's still quite fun. There was also a fishing minigame, but it sucked and I could never really figure it out. It's very RNG based, much like the old games. That is a blessing and curse since it also applies to the majority of the trophy list. Sometimes the RNG is helpful, sometimes it really screws you over. I got screwed by the RNG super hard at the end of my first difficult run. Had better luck on my second run. Still, as long as I'm enjoying the game, don't see getting the rest will be too much of a chore, even if it takes some time. There is an intro you have to play through the first time, but feel free to skip it in subsequent playthroughs. You have to beat the game five times for the trophy, but you can do four of the runs on easy, then clean up anything left. Final stats Games Played: 126 Games Completed: 96 Trophies Earned: 2715 Unearned Trophies: 834 Completion Percentage:79.36% (-2.24%) Had a lot of fun with this event, though I didn't kill my completion very much. If there's a KYC 12, I will probably sign up again.
Popular Post Arctic Cress
A quick recap of all the games I've played in this event, in order of how good the game is: 1. AI: The Somnium Files - Another great visual novel from Kotaro Uchikoshi and I am already hooked into it only five hours into the game. Has all the craziness you would expect and plenty of both puzzles and some funny dialogue that I continue to laugh at as I keep playing. If you play any of the ten games on my list here, make it this one. 9/10 2. Crystar - Seems like an average action RPG currently, but has a lot of interesting story content so far and it is definitely not a boring title to play through. I feel like the game might get old at some point though there are additional characters, so I can switch up there if one character does get boring. Also, you can pet the dog. 7/10 3. YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World - Unlike the other visual novel located below, this game has some interesting events frontloaded into the game to keep your interest piqued early. There is going to be a lot of trial and error here if I do not look at a guide, but it should be interesting if nothing else. 7/10 4. Team Sonic Racing - An average racing game with some neat team mechanics that unfortunately does not stand up to a title released back in 2012, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Even so, it is still fun to play through and I hope to get some enjoyment out of it as I play through the very odd story mode with this completely not suspicious tanuki. 6/10 5. WorldEnd Syndrome - There is nothing to speak of at this point besides one plot point that has happened so far, but the characters are unfortunately stuck in a school setting and cannot get out of it at this point. Will continue to the end of a route just to make sure it is something I can either skip or keep playing to discover more of this setting. 5/10 6. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - I will admit I did not play this as much as I could have since I got bored with it extremely quickly - this might just not be a genre of games I like, even if I did like the 2D retro title that this company also produced in the same series. Not really sure why that is. Anyway, this game is probably the one that can move up or down based on what is ahead more than the other games here. 5/10 7. Sword & Fairy 6 - It is really annoying that I have to put this game down here, but the technical glitches in this game really prevent it from being a real stand out among these titles. I do not think it will get any patches either, which is a further annoyance. I will still try to play it when I can, but I will try to avoid playing it for too long so I can avoid any crash bugs that may come. 5/10 8. Super Neptunia RPG - Perhaps I may have been to harsh on this, but as I said I still do not like platformers much and this game has too much of it for its own good. If it was just a straight RPG I might enjoy it a bit more. I will get back to it eventually, but it will not be any time soon, probably not even before next KYC. 4/10 9. Shenmue III - This is more Shenmue. If you liked the Shenmue series so far, it will seem really familiar to you and you will probably like this game as well. If you did not like Shenmue, you probably will not like this one as it will just feel awkward to play in the year 2019. I fall into the latter category. 4/10 10. Zanki Zero: Last Beginning - A storyline that does not even make sense and gameplay that is just an annoyance in every way possible. No log for mostly visual novel based cutscenes, so you might end up missing whole lines with no way to check back. Steer clear of this or put it on the lowest difficulty - it's definitely not an enjoyable title by any means. 1/10 If I didn't play AI: The Somnium Files this entire KYC seems like a waste, this is probably the worst draw of games I've ever picked, especially with Zanki Zero completely disappointing me in practically every way possible. My drop in completion was 1.81%, similar to July - which was 1.71%, and with such a disappointing group of games it may take a much longer time to recover than what I did with the games in July's KYC. As always, thank you @voodoo_eyes and I'll be back in March. Probably will only choose five games that time so I stop falling behind so often.
Popular Post DamagingRob
Games played from best to worst: Prey- Creepy space shooter with aliens that can disguise themselves as coffee mugs, among other things. NieR: Automata- Bizarre hack and slash RPG from the mind of Yoko Taro. Tales of Zestiria- Just another entry in a long-running series of action JRPGs. Really enjoyed the first few hours, and hope it continues. I don't know how much I think like other fans, with my all-time favorite being Tales of the Abyss, and thinking the first Xillia was just okay. So we'll see. Mafia III- Fun open world game and trip back to the 60's. Not sure when I'll subscribe to Plus again, though, so I probably won't be continuing it for awhile.. Jydge- Neon Chrome 2.0 sums it up quite nicely. Top down arcadey game. Earthlock- Pretty good indie attempt at a JRPG-clone. Can be a bit grindy. Mary Skelter: Nightmares- Dungeon crawler JRPG with girls based on fairytale folklore. Also pretty good. Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault- A spin-off with a mixture of classic R&C gameplay and tower defense. Decent, and a lot better than the other spin-off. All 4 One may never get completed... Dissidia Final Fantasy NT- A 3-on-3 fighter lacking in content, and held back by a lot of issues. Also has some obnoxious trophy requirements. Whoever thought 300 was a good number for treasure and Ranked wins needs to be wrapped up with a bow and placed under my Christmas tree, thanks. X-Men: Destiny- I love the X-Men, and thought this might be pretty fun for me. But it's as bad as professional reviews made it seem. Play anything else, please. Final stats: Games Played: 634 (+...9? Oh, I think I had X-Men on the list already ) Games Completed: 530 (+2; those two PS3 that turned out to both be pretty short. At least I won't be console switching, now) Trophies Earned: 20,780 (+188) Unearned Trophies: 1,708 (+275) Completion Percentage: 91.49% (-1.11%) Overall, not a bad selection of games. Only one I truly hated. As always, thanks to @voodoo_eyes for hosting and everyone that participated.
Popular Post Kevvik
Apologies to all the people who managed to bring great reviews again to another great event. RL has not been gamer friendly outside of a few bursts. I got about two hours into Dragon Fantasy Book II and haven't touched anything since. I hope to get Smoke and Sacrifice started soon and I'll throw a review in here and try to get a summary up for the event in the next few days. Here's a quick fly into my Game #9 but I feel I really haven't pulled my weight during this KYC edition. Game #9: Dragon Fantasy Book II Initial Impressions Time Played: ~2 hrs This is a throwback RPG to the 8-16 bit generation. Here your main character is Ogden, an aging knight who has a dream about princesses who need saving. You battle your way through to find something bigger is going on and you'll have to deal with it in the waking world. Combat is turn based (attack, skill, use item, defend, run, you know the drill) and you need to pay attention to your HP as you go lest you get in a battle having left yourself low. You awaken to slowly join up with your comrades. You do bounties for people and follow the main quest. You can also capture monsters which can be used in your party of up to 4, this is particularly helpful when doing tasks on your own away from your other party members. There is also a crafting system for when you find/buy recipes of equipment. The game is entertaining, has a good sense of humor and a serviceable battle system. I enjoyed the first game which was a series of chapters introducing you to each character of the now main group. This has carried forward well and I'm looking forward to spending more time with it (or almost anything lately except One More Dungeon). Trophies earned: 8/31, 20% for D rank Score so far: 6/10 Completion Rate: 83.55% (-1.08% for the event) I'll try to get an event summary up in the next couple days, hopefully with some time in Smoke and Sacrifice. A big thumbs up ?? to our host @voodoo_eyes and all the great reviews that have come in from everyone for another great event. Wish I could have been a bit more consistent this time through. Popular Post AuroraHistoire
Remembering All the Games I Played for KYC 11 I'll be talking about every game I played for Kill Your Completion 11. I'll be talking about the games in whatever order I feel like. If anybody was wondering if the trophy type tied to the image represented how much I liked a game, it doesn't. I always picked the trophy image I liked the most, as long as I earned the trophy. School Girl/Zombie Hunter ~ This is the only title I've gone back and played since the last time I talked about it. Despite not being of high quality, killing zom-zoms is always hectic fun and easy to get back into. I finished the story and it didn't get better. You use the power of friendship to defeat all the zom-zoms and their leader, in cutscenes. In actual gameplay, you just shoot everything with guns. I have obtained all the easy trophies and only have grind and SSS-Rank trophies left. Overall, the game is fun, story is terrible and turning the blood pink makes it look like strawberry yogurt. Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent ~ A fun little puzzle game. I'm not very good at puzzle games but I managed to get through this one alright. I was able to figure out most puzzles but a few I had to brute force. The trophy list sounds intimidating but it's not. The game doesn't change the puzzle solutions between playthroughs, so if you remember the solutions, you can speedrun the game effectively while cleaning up the trophies you missed. Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent was a short game when I was getting stuck on every other puzzle for 5 minutes. The game's writing is very funny and the story is entertaining. The controls are not great, but a point and click on console rarely has good controls. I still can't remember why I thought the game was about a paperclip factory. The Princess Guide ~ This game made me feel physically ill at first but it got better. The game doesn't do anything wrong but was nothing special. Every person in the game is cursed to bounce up and down a fast speed while they talk; that one thing bothered me and made me feel sick. The story has many good jokes and is at it's best when it's not taking itself seriously. Lapis X Labyrinth ~ A cute little game that feels very simplistic in a good way. You run through 2-D dungeons that feel procedurally generated, but they're not. There is some light platforming and plenty of enemies to kill. You have a party of up to 4 slightly customizable characters. They're basically just a class and you have access to about 10 at the start of the game. You can name them; the game features a random name button if you're terrible at names like I am. The random name button features both mundane and "creative" names. The gameplay feels like Smash Bros. despite not playing like Smash Bros. at all. You control one party member at a time while the others sit on your head. You can swap to the others at any time. The main draw of the gameplay is entering fever mode. You gain invincibility and everything you kill/destroy will bleed a ludicrous amount of gems. You always feel good when in fever mode. There is almost no story. The visuals are very cute and amazing to look at. Overall, there is not much to Lapis X Labyrinth but what is there is amazing. Nekopara Vol.2 ~ I was dreading this game but the beginning was great and the extra story was very good. Some parts of the game are terrible and can be skipped over without missing anything too important. Nekopara is a visual novel game with no choices. It was the easiest game of the entire event. The Midnight Sanctuary is in the same boat difficulty wise but Nekopara can be completed a lot faster by skipping everything. Little Dragons Café ~ While I was playing Nekopara, I wished I was playing a business management simulator about a shop that sold pastries. I was hoping Little Dragons Café would fill that desire and it didn't. The business element is very shallow. Little Dragons Café does nail exploration and a sense of adventure very well. Finding new things is very exciting and feels rewarding. The game has the same draw distance problem that Pokémon Sword & Shield have. I really like this game. Azure Reflections ~ The hardest game with the most enjoyable gameplay of KYC11 for me. Azure Reflections is sidescrolling bullet hell game and is very difficult on normal difficulty. The trophy list requires absolute mastery of the game to 100%. One day I'll comeback and 100% this title. It will take a training montage or two to defeat this beast of a game. Wargroove ~ This is my cup of tea. Wargroove is a neat little turn based strategy game. I didn't play a lot of Wargroove, but the little bit I played was amazing. The Long Dark ~ It plays like modern Fallout and Skyrim, without the dragons, myriad of glitchs and the constant action but the wolves are still unrealistically aggressive. The Long Dark is a hardcore survival game where you're constantly trying to not freeze to death. I was not optimistic going into this game but I had an enjoyable time. I had fun exploring abandoned locations. There was a lot of doing almost nothing sometimes. I feel the trophy list looks like it will take a very long time to complete. The Midnight Sanctuary ~ Best plot of any game I played in the event, maybe the best of all games I've ever played. I still can't describe the visual style and the character animations can be very bad sometimes. The Midnight Sanctuary is a visual novel that is very different most. It apparently didn't get the memo that all visual novels need to be presented like Steins;Gate and decided to be Metal Gear Solid instead. I absolutely love The Midnight Sanctuary. I'll probably buy a VR headset at some point and see what this game is like in VR. My completion stat was 67.27% when I started. It is now 69.88%. My completion rate went up and is even rather away from 39% now. I finished 3/10 games my list and I didn't get very far through the trophy lists of most the games I didn't finish. I believe the other games not on my list that I completed are the reason my completion improved. My total number of games went from 38 to 50. Completed games went from 19 to 27. My unearned trophies went from 451 to 484. After I complete 1-2 games that should be back where I started. My earned trophies went from 1,149 to 1,431. That's 282 new trophies; 122 are from games on my list. Most of the games on my list are the type I would like to focus on exclusively. It will be a very long time before I'm not busy and can give my list the attention it deserves. Anyway, this event was a lot of fun. I would like to thank @voodoo_eyes for hosting the event. I would also like to thank @DamagingRob. @MidnightDragon, @dizzyshadow, @Kevvik, @Arctic Cress, @SixyLove, @Fnee2000, @PerryToxteth, @MarkusT1992, @BlackSquirrell1 and @Psy-Tychist for taking part in the event along side me. The event would be nothing without you all taking the time to make it great.
Popular Post Psy-Tychist
Everything Time Played: 4.5 hours Trophies Earned: 23/35 - 50% Items Collected: 572/1391 Completion: 62.15% - +0.15% Everything is Something. That something is very hard to explain in common terms. It defies most definitions as a game or even as an intellectual medium. One thing I can say about it is that it doesn't come close to being a game. What it does do is act like a PS2 tech demo that got bigger and somehow decided to put philosophical and existentialist questions into a game where the animals you control cartwheel instead of having a basic walk cycle. This trip inside of Everything begins with a Tutorial telling the player how to interact with the world around it. You move around as a Zebra to start with and can interact with other animals by 'singing' to them and on occasion, you will have a speech bubble that will give some (no) insight into the world and about the world you are in. Eventually, you will have the ability to move between levels delving into the microcosm and out into the vastness of space and also create clones of groups of items and 'dance' as well. One other random thing you will be able to react with is the symbol of Everything and hear an audio file of Alan Watts talking about various philosophical and intrinsic thoughts related to Life and the belief of Life. These will play out in their entirety without having to stop doing what you are doing, whatever option you choose. It took me 4 hours to finish the tutorial, you can complete it faster but the game doesn't allow you to attempt to get through the tutorial until you've traveled through all planes of existence and unlocked a fair few types of creatures and 'things' in the world and universes you find. Even then, you will have no idea how to complete the tutorial unless you've read about the Golden Gates and what they entail. This game is not a game, it's not a walking simulator, it's not a media experience. It is all these things and none of them. It defies convention, yet is constrained by all the ideas of what a game should be. There will be few people who actually like the game itself but you will be fascinated as to why the hell it even works in the small ways that it does. It's like Marmite, you will either like it, or you will feel like you want to throw up due to boredom. Take of that what you will. Popular Post dizzyshadow
Game 10 : Cat Quest II I played the original Cat Quest in an earlier KYC, and ranked it highly, consequently my expectations were a lot higher this time. If you've played the original you'll know what to expect the game is very similar, if you haven't its an simple hack and slash game where you play as a cat (think a very basic diablo), its very casual in the game play as well so its good to dip in and out or just to race through it in a couple of evenings. Probably the most unique feature is that when you find loot, if its an item you already own it upgrades your existing item rather than giving you a duplicate. The big change compared to the original is this now comes with Coop, however the 2nd player is actually a dog (shock horror), the story revolves around the cat and dog kingdoms being at war, you are the ancient kings of both kingdoms who have been summoned to save the kingdoms. Other than this it is very much more of the same. Not much more to say on this, given my higher expectations this hasn't blown me away as much this time but its still one i highly recommend. Popular Post dizzyshadow
Event Summary Games in order of Preference 1) Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes - Brilliant Coop/Party game that is fairly unique / 2) Forager - great cartoony crafting game which is good light hearted fun, let down by the stupidly low drop rate on the few last things needed for the plat 3) Cat Quest II - Casual RPG which is tons of fun even if it does include a dog this time 4) Erica - Story Driven FMV game which does a good job of hidding what is actually going on. 5) Medievil - Neat remake of PS1 game, some of the original gameplay decisions show their age now / 6) Resident Evil 2 - Great remake of what is apparenty THE survival horror game, not sure its my thing unfortunately. 7) Gorogoa - interesting puzzle game with some unique ideas, a little short for a higher rating 8) Wargroove - Turn Based Strategy game, good but relatively vanilla in my opinion, i'll stick to fire emblem 9) Kingdom - New Lands - survival game with some frustrations, could be better. 10) Frostpunk - couldn't get into this may be good game here if you can stick with it. So 3 games finished and hopefully 3 more which will follow soon in December mean its been a slightly odd event for me with progress on games outside the event my completion actually went up!, Also its arguably the best selection of games i've chosen for one of these event from my point of view so i've enjoyed doing this again. Thanks to @voodoo_eyes for organising this again and for everyone's reviews see you all next time.
