Not a PS game but instead a Nintendo game. The recent Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem Engage was censored by the localization team from NOA. The game censors a lot of romance dialogue between The main protagonist and other characters in the game. Here's one where the main character and Anna an 11 year old girl confess their love for another. At least in the Japanese version they do. In the west, it is more platonic if anything.


I feel this is necessary to bring up even if its not from Playstation. These localizers aren't doing their job and are inserting their own morals and beliefs (sometimes memes) in the game. When all they have to do is translate the game. This is just one example of the many changes they made in the localization for Engage. It's not just in Playstation and Nintendo games. But anime as well!

Yeah, I've been following the Fire Emblem Engage situation. This kind of stuff happens a lot from all over the industry unfortunately, although the Nintendo Treehouse is especially infamous for it. The Twitter account iuntue documents a lot of these localization differences, and I'd recommend anyone who cares about this kind of stuff to give them a follow (or just bookmark the page if you don't have a Twitter account). It's blatantly obvious that a lot of these localizers have no respect for the source material and will just use their position to push their own ideology. That Katrina is a perfect example of this, and it's quite frankly amazing how he/she/it keeps getting hired given the other examples of their "work".

Sad that it's come to this, but learning Japanese really is the best option when it comes to consuming Japanese games and anime. Localizers are scum and can't be trusted. If we're lucky, AI will put them all out of jobs one day. ?

Didn't you hear, learning any other language to avoid censorship isn't a legitimate reason to learn said language....   I shit you not, a 'localiser' said that.

remember Soyny only seems to have issues with Anime styled attractive female characters. Most of the time they do not have any issues with violence.

The devs self-censored the previous Postal game on the PS4 so there's a chance they could do it again to this one.

I imagine it will be the PSP version we get. There hasn't been a new PS2 classic in ages and Sony don't have a PS2 emulator that works natively on PS5 yet. But if I'm reading that right, it sounds like the EU version is censored on PSP, so I guess that's something to keep in mind when it comes out.

This was a developer decision

It was also censored on PC

So yeah they mainly have issues with anime tiddies

How about the new controversy over The Witcher 3 detailed Genetalia of some Feminine monsters (Bruxas and the 3 Crones)?

 

Again Kotaku with their SJW stuff "stricking" CDPR. As they said they will remove the stuff. And i also believe one sex and nudity scenes were somewhat removed also, but very minor since they were not prerendered within the game originaly. 

 

But if you want to see the Labia of those monsters don't update the game anymore, or else you will only see them on PC or videos ??

I was potentially going to pick up a copy of that game once the gamebreaking glitches were fixed but this news just killed any interest I had in doing so.

There's some fuckery going on with Octopath Traveler II's English localization. In the original Japanese, there's some dialogue that refers to a characters "2 big and ripe peaches", and that people wouldn't stand a chance if she shakes them around. The suggestiveness of that scene was removed in the English localization with the dialogue referring to the character's talent/dancing instead.

I mean they just sell it on their own site

Sony says they won't distribute adults only games but they don't say they don't want them to be playable on their console

Maybe this will be an loophole in the future for indie devs like madmind studios

So Nintendo only have a problem with nudity in games sold on the eShop? It's interesting that they treat physical copies differently like that. Physical game enjoyers eating good lol.

It's lame, but I at least appreciate that PQube were upfront about it, even going so far as giving us comparisons. I'm glad that the Switch version wasn't toned down as well just to avoid this kind of situation like a lot of devs seem to do these days.

The PC version has nudity which Nintendo has more recently stopped allowing in games (at least the ones sold on the eShop). Not sure what the exact differences with this game specifically is, but my assumption would be that the Switch version has skimpier clothing compared to the PlayStation version.

I have at least 3 games that claim to be uncensored on the physical release as opposed to the digital one, waifu uncovered, waifu discovered 2 and perky little things, that last one even has full on uncensored porn.

I own all three of those too   The Pretty Girls Collections are Uncensored too from what I can tell
