The two DLC Challenge trophies in Max Payne 3 are still possible. Removing them from the list. Updated list below. Getting a little bit of time to go through everything now.

Which DLC challenge trophies are still obtainable and how? I was under the impression all the DLC trophies were impossible now ?.

Besides being told that it worked offline before the update (on Xbox at least), I'm seeing unlock data for it on PSNP and TrueAchievements after the shutdown that doesn't really align with the whole "keep your console connected to multiplayer" thing that happened after the shutdown. I can certainly be wrong about it though since I haven't personally verified it.

With the amount of server shutdowns going on I decided to finely start using this, and did a run through my "not 100%" games to check and saw a few issues, that I'm not sure if are already known..

1st - if I already have the unobtainable trophies earned, but not the platinum, it still marks visually the platinum as the only unobtainable trophy (not sure if bug or limitation of the add-on).

Example: https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/5439-driveclub-vr/Han_the_Dragon

2nd - none of the Flatout 4 are unobtainable with the disc version (the trophy marked as unobtainable is only unobtainable in the patched game, playing on the disc version 1.0 it's possible to earn it).

3rd - I need to double check, but all original Zen Pinball trophies should be unobtainable, since everything got delisted (as I said, I need to double check this, and submit the proper report after that).

Still, great work with the add-on! Really solves some major issues for me (specially this one with the unobtainable trophies.. luckily didn't found more unobtainable than what I was expecting.. RR Driftopia, GTA5, NFS The Run, LBP2 and LBP Vita.. 14+ Zen Pinball..).

I've made a thread about this in the MP3 forum so hopefully we'll get an answer sooner, rather than later :).

1) Yeah, the platinum trophy is a bit of a pain to handle. I might fix this for now. In any case, it should be pretty easy to determine whether you can still obtain the plat or not even now.

2) Yes, there are many games that can be downgraded and you can earn trophies that way. These games will still be listed.

@HuntingFever @Shadow_Kisuragi I'm hesitant to remove these 2 trophies for now. I'd like to see more posts about these 2 trophies with some recent timestamps.

That would require downgrading or not updating the disc, whereas the feature is concerned whether the trophies are obtainable on latest patch.

But, if someone has the DLCs downloaded, they could earn all the trophies? Therefore, it's not truly unobtainable. Yes, someone would need to own the DLCs or gameshare off someone, but still.

Ok, was just not sure if it was a problem or something, since I haven't been following this. That's why I pointed out.

Well, true, but since it got delisted, wouldn't it be the same as needing to downgrade the game to make the trophies accessible again?

I say this because in both cases the trophies aren't available for new people unless some extra action is taken, be it finding someone to gameshare the DLC/Game or to revert the game to an earlier state.

You start the game connected to PSN for it to know you own the DLC, then you dc and it will not validate if the servers are online and will let ou start challenge mode without leaderboard score

1. First select challenge mode so you're in the chapter select part (while still signed in).

2. Then go to the XMB and go to the Account Management option/symbol.

3. Press triangle and select Sign Out.
4. The game didn't boot me out of the challenge mode chapter select, so you should be good.

Its case of "you have game, you can do all trophies without any file ingeration". Delisted games are not unobtainable. I own many delisted games, i can start them now and get all trophies. Putting them on unobtainable list is missleading. If you can't get a game it being (or not) on this list changes nothing for you. And there are separate lists of delisted games.

That's only true for full games.

Going back to my example, that is, Zen Pinball, I have access to the game, but not to the DLC, so, in this case it does matter to me what trophies are unobtainable for me on it or not. Specifically since in the case of this game some DLC trophies appear in the base game list (it's "pre-DLC division in trophy lists), so, I don't even know what are base game trophies or not..

That's a dev list which should never have been synced to PSN. @HusKy If I may, I recommend adding a Dev list tag to the PSNP+ Extension so people know the difference between these and the correct lists :).

Very good point that has not been discussed, but owning the game or DLC should be the basic prerequisite. This would increase complexity tenfold considering different region stores provide different games/DLCs to purchase. Some games/DLCs are still available through third party retailers etc.

The assumption is, you have the game/DLC available to you and installed with latest patch.

Another point.

Closure of PS3/Vita stores is only matter of time. Adding 100% of Vita and PS3 games as unobtainable to this list is just ridiculous and obviously it is wrong.

1 hour ago, Han_the_Dragon said:

It is still true to DLC's. You have DLC you can get trophies. Just like in not delisted game. I agree there should be warning on trophy list that you need dlc to get 'platinum' part of it, but it don't belong in unobtainable section but on forum of this specific game.

"Specifically since in the case of this game some DLC trophies appear in the base game list" - was it different before delisting?

By your logic i can say trophies on AC Valhalla are for me unobtainable becouse i don't own nor base game nor DLC's to it

When trophies were added there was no "split section" for each DLC part of the trophy list, everything was put under the same base game list. DLC was still not required for the platinum, it was just not split from the base trophies.

And in Zen Pinball, it's a PSN 100% list, no platinum in it.

And you are missing my point, since the DLC was delisted, I can't buy it to earn the trophies for those DLC, making those DLC trophies are really unobtainable for me since I didn't bought the DLC at the time, but at the same time I can earn the base list trophies, since I own the base game.

In your example, you can still buy the game/DLC and earn the trophies, that's not possible in the case of delisted DLC, even if you own the base game before it was delisted. I don't even understand why you bring an example of a game that's still available to anyone into this, since I'm just talking about delisted games and more specifically delisted DLC.

I think the point you're missing is the function of this is to determine which trophies are unobtainable for absolutely everyone, not just specific people. There would have to be another method of determining which trophies are affected by the delisting of content, and those would have to be highlighted as different from unobtainable.

In short, unobtainable for *you* doesn't mean it's unobtainable.

I asked this to make you realise delisting didn't changed requirement. You need DLC to get this trophy. That's not issue with closed server or glithed trophy. Only thing that changed is the fact you can't buy this DLC. That is what lists of delisted games are for. There still may be way to buy some delisted games on eBay for example. Then they shouldn't be unobtainable, right? Or should they? Hence my AC comparison. Accessibility to own a game is irrelevant to obtainability of its trophies.

Got it, so in essence the same deal that I mentioned about platinums being marked as unobtenaible even though the unobtenaible trophies where already earned when available.  (I know that @HusKy already said that he will eventually address this case).

I can understand that, but then why are trophies that became unobtenaible due to something introduced by a patch (bug or change), but are obtenaible in the unpatched retail version are treated as unobtenaible?

You can always buy the retail version and play it without the patch to earn the trophy.

What's the difference between both of the bold sentences? Because both are being treated in different ways, while saying to do the same thing.

@HusKy said that trophies that require a downgrade are considered as unobtenaible, and I understand that, but that's only true for digital versions, or games that require a specific patch installed (FF15 case), at my eyes it's not true for retail copies that can be played without patches.

Going back to my Flatout 4 example and following the idea that I can simply buy a retail copy and earn the trophies by playing the unpatched game, the trophies actually are obtenaible without having to downgrade the game, no?

I just want a coherent line of though here, nothing more.

I just want a coherent line of though here, nothing more.

You need to do specific file ingeration to get them. You can't just get these trophies by playing game as intended. Not gonna talk about downgrading. Guide to downgrade speaks for itself.

For disc you need to prevent it from updating. But then we have to create many cases for games that have or don't disc version (maybe even specific disc with right update).

List should be simple without "ifs". You wanna play that game, you look it up and you see that it has not unobtainable trophies. You're happy but after playing you see this info on forum: "yea, you can get it. Just be sure you have this very specific disc version of the game and never update it" or "yea, easly obtainable, do this:

Spoiler
  1. First of all, make sure you uninstall FFXV is you haven't already. Even if you haven't installed the latest patch and have Version 1.00, it's best to start from the beginning.
  2. Install a HTTP proxy like Charles on your PC. Normally is costs $50 USD, but you can use a free trial for 30 days. Unfortunately, the trial version closes down every 30 mins and that might be annoying. However, it's still possible to do this even if Charles keeps on closing, as it won't interfere with the other steps.
  3. Open up Charles, go to the settings (the cog on the menu bar), and click on "Proxy Settings". Then in "Proxy Settings", turn on "Enable transparent HTTP proxying". Make sure that for "Port", it is set up to "8888". It should already be preset to this. Then click on "OK" at the bottom. Keep Charles open for the rest of the method.

    • WwXBEBi.png
  4. Now, find out what your IP address is. You can do so by opening up Command Prompt on your PC. Not sure about the procedure for Mac users (google it up and you'll find it quick), but for Windows users, press the Windows key + R, then search up "cmd". Press OK and Command Prompt will pop up. Type "ipconfig" and press Enter. A list of information will pop up. Look for the line that says IPv4 Address and remember the number listed on that line. It should be something like four numbers, each separated by a "."

    • oDhsd1B.png
  5. Now you'll need to set up your PS4 network to go through your PC first. Normally, you have your PS4 automatically connected to your router, but now your PC will be in-between that connection. To do so, go to your PS4 Settings > Network > Set Up Internet Connection. Choose either Wi-Fi or LAN, depending on what you're using. But make sure to choose "Custom" instead of "Easy". Keep everything at "Automatic", and DHCP Host Name at "Do Not Specify", until it says "Proxy Server". For this setting, chose "Use".
  6. You will be told to put an "Address" and a "Port Number" in. For "Address", put in your IP address you got from Command Prompt. For "Port Number", put in "8888". After choosing Next, you should have a message pop up on Charles. Accept the request so your PS4 can connect to your PC.
  7. Now, insert the disc for FFXV and you should have the update automatically downloading. The update should be 34.620 GB, at least for the US version (This was back during the 1.27 update. The file size now should be different, but shouldn't affect anything). Keep it downloading while you do the next steps. Digital users will just start the download of the game instead.
  8. On the "Structure" section in Charles, you should've noticed that a lot of Playstation-related URLs have popped up. Look for the one that says "http://gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net". Using the "+" tab on the left side of the URL name, you can open it up and open up to its subfolders. The folder opening order should be:
  9. In the "f" folder, there should be multiple different files, but you're looking for the file that ends with .json. This method is for both physical and digital copies. The only difference with digital copies is that there will be two folders: "appkgo" and "ppkgo". As mentioned above, you're only looking for files in "ppkgo", so just ignore "appkgo" entirely.
    • dghkbR9.png
    • Note: in my picture, it says A0126 on my .json file because I already did this method. For you, it will be A0127 or higher, depending on what the newest update version is. But I've edited the picture so the structure and file location should be similar. Keep in mind that the folders won't be the exact same as this screenshot was taken when I was downloading 1.27. The instructions still remain the same: find the .json file in the "ppkgo" folder.
  10. Right-click on the .json file and choose Map Remote (probably the second-last option in the list).
  11. A window should pop up that says "Edit Mapping". The "Map From" should already be filled up (Query part stays empty). What you need to do is fill up the "Map To" part, which should be:
  12. After you filled that up, press OK, then delete the patch that's still downloading on your PS4. On Final Fantasy XV that is installed, in the selectable options, choose "Check for Updates" and the patch will start downloading. It will still say Version 1.27 is downloading, but the file size should be different. The normal file size of 1.27 is 34.620 GB (for later versions, it's different), however, the patch that is downloading for you will be 30.043 GB. If it's 30.043 GB, then it's Version 1.26, and that means that you've successfully remapped the URLs. Digital users will delete the game that's downloading, and then redownload the game. The game should download as Version 1.26 if everything was done correctly. Note: After the release of 1.29, there's been a change in the file size. You might see a download file of 30.071 GB rather than 30.043 GB, and that's totally fine.
  13. Let it download, and keep Charles open. If you have the trial version, Charles will close every 30 mins, which will pause your download. Don't worry, as long as you reopen Charles, it will continue from where it left off. If the download doesn't continue, pause and resume the download until it does. Whenever you pause and resume the download, the file size of the patch might decrease. Don't worry, as it's showing you how much you have left. Once the download is done, it will say the newest update has been installed, but worry not, it should be Version 1.26. To make sure, check the "Information" for FFXV, and it should say 1.26. Alternatively, you can switch back to your usual internet setup if downloading through Charles is taking too long or is too cumbersome. As Charles is only used to change the path you're downloading the game from, once the remapping is done, it should be safe to switch back to your normal setup.
    • ptqgbQj.jpg?1
  14. Now all you need to do is install Comrades. If you have it purchased. Check your Library > Final Fantasy XV > PlayStation Store > Your Add-Ons, and you should see Comrades (7.5 GB) listed there. Download it.
  15. Now you'll have FFXV Version 1.26 with Comrades installed. When you start up the game, the actual Version 1.27 will start downloading, so pause that download, or disconnect yourself from the internet. Now you should be able to play Comrades offline with AI.

  • If you find that it's not working for you, you should be able to tell where you've messed up. If you're PS4 is connected to Charles and PS4 activities appears on Charles, you've done Steps 1-7 correctly.
  • Even your incorrect URL mappings gets saved, so you might want to delete that. On Charles, go to Tools, then Map Remote (alternatively, you can also press Ctrl + Alt + M) and a list of mappings will appear. Click on them one-by-one and click Remove. When you're going to try the steps again, it's best to start from fresh.
  • If your PS4 can't connect to Charles and you're doing it via Wi-Fi, try switching to LAN and see if that works.

Credits to HusKyCode for the method and Armored Squirrel for the Version 1.26 URLs. A list of game update URLs for many games can be found here. If you want to use an older FFXV patch, or want to use this method on another game, that list should be useful. Alternatively, you can use the website here. Search for a game, choose your region, click on "View Patches & Information", click on "Older Available Patches" to choose the update you're interested in (If you don't see that option, they only have one update in their database), right-click on download and copy the link address. Change the link address by replacing anything that follows "-V0100" with .json at the end.

And just too add:

  • This method makes the trophies achievable. If you need proof, then you can check my profile and see that trophies are still achievable post 1.27 patch. I only played enough to earn only one trophy, but it's been done well after the closure of the Comrades mode.
  • These trophies are not eligible for flagging and this is a totally viable method. The thread below states "Deleting update data to use a in-game glitch or play a game on a previous version of the game is also allowed and not a flaggable offense. This includes having to update a game through use of a proxy."

It's better to just include these games. Obtainable should mean "chill, play game" not this monstrosoty above. BTW i'm very happy downgrading exists.

I personally think "it's unobtainable but you can do this..." is better then "it's obtainable but you NEED to do this...". This way seems more fair and closer to truth.

Just to throw it out there, but TrueTrophies has the "Partly Discontinued/Unobtainable" flag for these specific reasons, and we have descriptions as to why normally (though, again, I'm way behind in filling out the info but most of the flags exist). Trying to put ALL of that information into the thread, let alone the userscript, is very overwhelming and the flag itself is confusing to people. I'd suggest just sticking to the simplistic ideal of "It doesn't work on the latest version of the game available for all people" and make forum posts explaining the issues in more detail for each individual case for those wanting to learn more. e.g. Fallout 3 DLC isn't available in Eastern Europe and Russia, so owners of the CIS version can't complete the game since the DLC doesn't exist for that version, but it doesn't stop the rest of the world from unlocking the shared list. How do you denote all of that specific information into this?

@WiktorM101 See, that's the double standards that I mentioned.

For you it's earnable if you can somehow buy a copy retail or other region and play, but not if you can buy a retail copy and play the game unpatched.

Playing a game unpatched doesn't require to go through any kind of things, unlike downgrading, that's why I split both earier.

Just by curiosity what is your take on Syberia 2?

The "Old School" trophy is unobtainable in the EU version, but it's earnable in the US version. At your eyes, it's earnable or not?

At my eyes both Syberia 2 and Flatout 4 are the same, or if anything Syberia 2 requires more work-around than Flatout 4, because for an EU player to get the "Old School" trophy in Syberia 2 they would need to make an US account, find a place to buy a US PSN card and only then buy the game, for Flatout 4, you just need to put your system offline and play.
