Finally got around to finishing Kena. It was nice to be able to do everything in a single Master-difficulty playthrough, thanks to the update which lets you select it from the beginning - two runs would have felt pointless and tedious. As it stands, it was a fun, beautiful game with a decent amount of challenge. Parries are damn satisfying to pull off on this one.

 

I think my next pick will be Slay the Spire, but we'll see. When it comes to Resident Evil 0 my only concrete goal is finishing it before RE4R's release, and I'm quite familiar with Hollow Knight due to having fully conquered it on a different system - so that should actually be a pretty easy 9/10. Super Meat Boy is also a game I already completed on Wii U and one of my favorite platformers ever, but I never did the deathless runs and that's going to be a major pain.

Platinum #261: Life is Strange: True Colors

Finished a Romance game in February for the  Love Bird badge! This was a good game. I like the LiS series cause they're all chill and interesting. Though this one isn't nearly as good as the first one. Anyway, I finished this forever ago and been sitting on it to pop the badge...which isn't my favorite experience...and I'm sure some others out there hate it too so I'm thinking next year I'll either remove the badges dependent on a certain month or make a rule that the game must be done start to finish in the specified month. Next up I've been chipping away at Doom Eternal PS5 for a while now, making progress slowly, but surely. Been juggling other games too like Stray from my second list, a few small games for the Platinum Every Genre Challenge and of course the new Dead Space Remake. So it might be a while before I update again.

Nice, I have this planned for this month too along with Doki Doki Literature Club for a couple of my other lists.

 

Currently working on Asterix & Obelix XXL which is the 8/10 on my first list and slowly making my way through Extreme mode. Its definitely worthy of the difficulty ranking that's for sure but its a fun game so am enjoying it even if Extreme mode requires a lot of Patience.

Its been a while since I have updated but today I have gotten a new platinum for my 1-10 challenge list being my 6/10:

    
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - Reunion (PS4)

Overall, I really enjoyed Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - Reunion as I was interested in the story and the gameplay was fun as well. The grinding for high level gear and materia wasn't too bad but finishing off the remaining missions was boring, alongside 100% the DMV and the annoyingly large list of missables to get the platinum. The secret boss wasn't too bad as I prepared for it and spammed potions and costly punchies till it went down.

 

I recommend the game as I enjoyed it!

Doki Doki Literature Club:

I am a bit dissapointed in this game. I had higher expectations on that game since a lot of people said this is so mindblowing. Since i read a lot of Visual Novels i need to say this is one of the weaker VN i played/read so far. I dont want to spoiler anything so i leave it that way.

 

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memories:

Well where to start. Sometimes i really dont understand Square Enix. This game is a big "what happened in Kingdom Hearts" over the entire game and you play a lot of the different Songs which where in all Kingdom Heart games like level OSTs or intro music. In the last level they put in some new story to Show the Player where the journey will continue from this point and that is a really Stupid thing in my opinion. If you are interested i would advice to just look a Youtube Video with the ending since you dont need to play the whole game just for that. You need to play all Songs at least 3 times since you need to finish them on all difficulty settings. It doesnt count that you played it on the hardest difficulty from the beginning. Worst thing if you already played it on hard, the stages getting kind of boring ln the loser difficulties. Last thing is the unneccessary grind to kill 100.000 enemies. It took me Solid 4-5 hours after finishing every difficulty. If you are a Fan of the franchise you could give it a look but otherwise i wouldnt recommend it.

 

On Trackmania i am at the last 2 races for the Gold medals in Canyon. Those Loopings can go to hell, but i am making slowly progress.

Miles Morales down and out. Really enjoyed going back to this after so long, shame its so short but loved it. That end sequence is truly epic and a little touching. Not a clue hwat I'm going for next tbh. Maybe see what Hogwarts Legacy is like next week. My friend who I game share with has got it pre-ordered so I'll be trying it out but can't see if being too difficult so might have to start a second list. 

Slowly edging towards Rainbow Six Siege as well for my 6/10 since I won't be going for the Callisto plat.

Huh, I just realized the platinum for Hollow Knight on PS is way less involved than the full in-game completion I pulled off on a different system. No speedrun trophies, or deathless trophy, or the couple annoying missables. I almost feel bad for having it as my 9/10 pick now (according to the PSNP guide's difficulty), but since I'm doing SMB for my 10/10 I guess I'll allow myself this slight cop-out. So yeah, HK will probably be the next thing I complete for the challenge

To be honest i never played Bullet Hell games actively or in a bigger way them just as a minigame in Yakuza or so. But the game just looks too interesting to just Pass it without looking into it i will give a short Review about it when i am able to finish it

Thoughts: What can I say! This game is worthy of the label 'phenomenal'! A clear labour of love for classic old-timey cartoons and the brutal difficultness from games of old. Cuphead epitomises the trial and error gameplay loop. Mugman is best mug! Now, brace yourself for the platinum.  Expert mode is no walk in the park. The increased difficulty on some bosses will surprise you. Bosses that were once pushovers become terrifying.  If you can stick it out and finally beat that pesky boss, you will genuinely feel proud that you overcame that tribulation.

 

Aesthetic, music, gameplay, across the board are amazing. A real treat to play. Highly recommend!

 

Difficulty List Log - Almost halfway through the challenge! Cuphead really did test my ability. I should relax for a bit. Should I play an easier game or do some clean-up on a harder game? Maybe boot up Final Fantasy 7 Remake and familiarise myself with the game again, on HARD difficulty? We will see ?

@Jennys_Trophies Yes you can do Love Bird on a second list. It will not void your OCD badge since the OCD badge just depends on you doing the 10 from the OCD list in a row. But everything does have to be on a single account. No alt accounts.

Today I have gotten a new platinum for my 1-10 challenge list being my 2/10:

    

Pantsu Hunter: Back to the 90s (EU Version) (PS4)

Pantsu Hunter: Back to the 90s Platinum (58.59%) (Common)

 

Overall, it was a nice and short visual novel with many funny endings and gags. My issues with the game is that it froze once near the end when I paused the game and at a different part of the game, the cursor disappeared, making me unable to progress. So a word of warning to others, there might be a few bugs in this game.

I recommend the game as I enjoyed it but making sure you use a guide as some of the endings would be difficult to find out without it.

An update for my list. I completed Toem, which I got through PS Plus. 1/10 isn't really understating it, but it was short and a sweet game I really did like it. I was glad to have a shorter game after having completed the Danganronpa 1 2 Reload collection, which is so long. 

 

I've completed some other games in the mean time: Minecraft, Yooka-Laylee and Danganronpa as mentioned but all of them fall in the difficulty 3-4 categories, which are already filled I guess I should play some slightly harder games for the 5/10. And then very hard games for the 8-10 (I think I will make Crash 4 my 10/10). Anyway here's my list:

Dark Cloud finished! Even though I've never played this game before, it gave me nostalgic feels with it being a older PS2 game. Unfortunately though I wasn't that huge of a fan, the combat is very clunky and constant need for menu management slowed down the game too much in my opinion. But I guess that's what comes with a PS2 dungeon crawler. The game was pretty easy however so that was nice. 

 

Next up is another PS2 game, Sly 3! I platinumed the first two Sly games back in 2017, but my disc was used and the 3rd Sly game never worked for me. Now that's it's on the Classics Catalogue, it's time to go back and finally play it!

Jack N' Jill DX a pretty surprising time. It's a single-button platformer; while auto-running, you only control the main character's jump button. It was honestly a pretty good time as later, you have to bounce on enemies, wall jump, flap fly through spike-filled tunnels and more. While the trophy list is usual Ratalaika "play 10% of the game for the plat", I went through the whole game and had a lot more fun than if I had stopped at the end of the 1st world. If the game is on sale, I would say it's a decent time, but I'd recommend going not stopping at the end of world 1.

 

On the other hand, I have really complicated feelings about this game. On positive side, I really appreciate WayForward for going back and releasing a Japan-only 1994 Super Famicom Kunio game. Also, the weird meta narrative of the girls playing a game of their 1st adventure with the boys, in which they get shot, and don't remember it was pretty funny. On the flip side, boy is it an old 1994 SNES weak beat-em-up with all of the associated quirks: the controls aren't great (the guard is delayed and finnicky, special moves don't always trigger), the damage scaling is insane from the enemies, the game is pretty short but makes up by being punishing in certain spots especially the true final boss. I disagree with the guide's difficulty (would probably be around a 4 for me), especially if you don't save scum, but it's written as a 2/10 so it's counted as that.
