Am I going to rainbow again? Definitely! Am I going to trade away shiny Pokemon of the same color? NOT ON YOUR LIFE! I'm not even playing Pokemon anymore, at least until the Scarlet/Violet DLC drop after summer. So this next card will be completely fresh. I did my last two swaps, swapping Ni No Kuni for Gravity Duck(lots of sand in the picture which is tan) and finally Disgaea 4 Complete+ for Virtuous Western for the PS4(lots of orange in the background with the buildings and sunset). I do intend to try to bring back games for my second rainbow because there's no rush, so it will mostly be either a bunch of RPGs(since I am in RPG Mania and have 15 on the docket) or something else. No more indieware, these games will be slow-cooked to perfection. Oh, am I gonna show you the games? Not this time. That led me to swapping out everything. This time I will only reveal games when I pop the platinum for them! (And don't worry, the background is free domain so I didn't violate any copyrights.) You may be wondering why the colors are all in different places? Well, this is also Pokemon related, but don't worry, I won't be catching this time. Popular Post Zanreo Posted April 4, 2023 Popular Post Share Posted April 4, 2023 (edited) Finally got another update, just plated Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory for black: Finally found this game again after it had been hidden behind some books in a different shelf for months, so I decided to take a break from Ishin, get back to this and finish up the last few trophies. I've never actually properly played Kingdom Hearts before this, but I really liked it, and it's a pretty good rhythm game with great music! Outside of the 100000 enemy grind (which wasn't AS bad as I had expected) the trophies were pretty enjoyable to get too! Now, am I gonna try out the main series? (I'll use the PS4 version just because it's even more tan) After all of my laser focused hype, does the game live up to it for me? Well I'm gonna write a bunch of words that could answer that, so let's write some words. A prequel focusing on a fan favourite rebellious teenage girl, in a narrative adventure, whose subtitle references the plot of the original, and that plot point occurs exclusively in that future game, does sound a little familiar, but I'm sure that's a coincidence. Unlike the other game I'm subtly referencing, the main lead Zoe does actually have an arc that changes her into the person that we see in the original, which is enough to justify it's existence so far; she is the daughter of a major political power and can learn to trust in her home state or doubt them with a binary morality meter. There are two playable characters though, a new lead called Kaito who serves as Zoe's philosophical counterpart (and vice versa,) a member of workforce who has a dislike of the government, but whose morality meter can drift into a more moderate less revolutionary stance with differing choices. The story is fine, you can choose which order you play the portions of each act in, but this is the major problem as well, Road 96 was to a large degree a randomly generated roguelike, where story needed to be pieced together from parts that you could have got in any order, (Zoe's story was the only exception), it's not that a more traditional setup is bad, just disappointing for those of us that loved the RNGness of the original; it's very much like the other prequel who lost the original game's most interesting element. Oh crud, I forgot to mention that that every chapter has a musical, runner stage like that Annapurna game I've been wanting to buy, it's clear that this was the major focus since some of them are just so visually stunning, but you may hate them after you try to S+ rank them all like I have done. It's clear to see why Digixart have done this since the original soundtrack was acclaimed (so much so, I've just ordered a CD) but this game doesn't use any of those songs not even the best one, but the songs are still very good, don't get me wrong they are much more 90s and 80s than the original game which I suppose is more fitting. I do like the game, a fair amount, it's hard not to compare to the original though which is one of my favourite games of all time, maybe it's unfair. Sorry if I sound anal. Second, I decided to try to fill my second card with RPG games, making a RPG rainbow. This will allow me to re-introduce games I swapped out. Also, I will put in a challenge, no swaps. This happened the first time because I had a shiny Pokemon challenge on the first card and that was sort of a mistake, so this time I will only update like everyone else does, and reveal updates when I actually get good and get a platinum in one of the many long-winded RPGs I intend to platinum this year. (Mainly because I am also in RPG Mania 2023 and have to do so anyways.) That's not saying that it has to be all RPGs. If a game in other genres has a game image that saturates a color more than the RPG I was planning, it might be used instead. For example, has a lot of deep purple in it(and the logo which dominates is a yellow-tan color) so if I wanted, I could use this game for Deep Purple, Yellow or Tan, but I intend to try to get the platinum for the RPGs I had planned for those slots. If I can't do it in the time slot(due to lack of motivation[I have ADHD], obsession with another game, or elsewise), I can swap it off-screen. I play it so much and I'm getting trophies but...not getting anything 'done'. I did swap out one of my incomplete games, though, since DLC is allowed. Just have one battle to finish up for Stormblood. Also added in yellow since I was gifted Midnight Suns Digimon Surive - Deep Purple I want this game and Cyber Sleuth to have a child and be the perfect digimon game. I loved how dark it was, the visual novel aspect, the turn-based grid-based combat. I do wish there were more Digimon, though. And I wasn't a fan of the system to 'obtain' them by conversations, I felt like the odds were often quite low. I much prefer Cyber Sleuth's 'encounter it x number of times' system. Overall, though, loved the game and I hope there are more. Trophies were a bit of a bore, though, too many endings... And there are quite a few plot moments where the enemy is 'too strong' despite easily beating them in 1-2 turns. If a boss is supposed to be unbeatable...make them unbeatable. TMNT collection You may also find a game in the call of duty series or Siphon Filter series. Those have a few greens as well. I don't think Synth Riders is anywhere near Maroon (which is not the best "demo colour", granted, but is really defined as "Brownish Red")... ...but I'd move Pistolwhip to Maroon, Synth Riders to Black, Jackbox to Brown and A New Frontier to Dark Blue and I think that would all work without losing any games! 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
