Blue or Light Blue would work - could also be a decent Orange/Red, but as you have those, I'd say Light Blue is a winner!

Thanks Doc! I think my blue entry will most likely be the Horizon Forbidden West DLC coming out next week, as those tiles are always blue and I think slightly darker that the background of the Dragoon image ?

April News:

Added several games to the gamecard.  They are:

 

Light Blue: Last Stop  An okay game, sort of a visual novel with a few puzzles.  

 

Tan: The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.  Another visual novel, but better than Last Stop.

 

Red: Virginia.  Man, I've got to stop playing these visual novels and get into something with a bit more bite!

 

Black: Detroit.  Really good game, but got a bit long in the end.  Glad I finally got that one off of my backlog.

kudos for like a dragon anyway dude. I could not face going through that sewer dungeon anymore so I’m still one trophy away from that plat. I’d love to go back and do it but I can’t stomach that level of grind so I’ve kind of accepted it’s gone forever. I’m doing Ishin at the moment and am just crossing fingers the whole time that the grind isn’t as much as that bloody sewer otherwise I’ll quickly walk away from this one too.

Thank you and yeah, Like A Dragon was a real grind. That millennium tower was no joke! Every battle felt like a boss battle that I had to go all-out for.

 

Though, if it makes you feel any better, I think if you can get past the robo guards at the beginning and bring miracle kimichi for the final battle, you can win without grinding every job to 50+. The first battle was by far the worst one. Personally, most of mine had a few jobs at 30, and 2 at 99. Probably doesn't move the needle to pick it back up, but hopefully it gives you an ounce of hope to finish it one day.

 

Also thanks, @DrBloodmoney for the response as well! I'll move it to Yellow once Arise is finished. I'm already really enjoying it so far! Everything that annoyed me with the battle system previously in the series was fixed, and I love the direction of the UI and art style in this one. I was afraid it would be too hack n slashy, but there's a good balance of strategy on when to use BGs, when to go aggressive, when to play defensive, etc. I'm hoping that I get a bit more variety in artes down the line, but so far, I'm having a blast!

So I realized last night that with my slight perfectionism towards my first Kaleidoscope card, I've actually already got a second card 1/3 completed. Whoops. ?

 

Once I get my shiny rainbow kaleidoscope I'm not sure if it feels like cheating to fill a second card with games I played before I finished my first card, so perhaps I should focus on completing this community event first, versus my current method of swapping between events as it fits my mood.

Haha, same here. I was being quite purist about the games I wanted to include, but having seen how relaxed the rules are, I'll likely be able to make up a second card full of some of the games I've previously discarded.

That's exactly what I am doing with my second card. Some of the games I had on there(Rogue Galaxy, Disgaea 4 Complete+) are going on the second card.

 - Rise of the Tomb Raider

 

@DrBloodmoney has given his acceptance as a white (see quote below), until I find another title to take its place.  For now, I'd like to keep it on the list as not only did I get the plat, but I completed the 5 DLCs, including a Co-op mode.  I enjoyed the game, and the platinum wasn't a bad experience overall.  I'll get to Shadow of the Tomb raider at some point to complete the trilogy, but for now I'm off to work on Uncharted 4 for blue?  Really need to get this one done by the 19th in anticipation for Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster.

 

Hope everyone's have a great month of gaming!  Look forward to seeing more progress and ideas for games to complete!

What's up, all you beautiful rainbow lovers?

 

It's been about a month, so I guess it's time to bother you all again with what I've been doing! Got three more down - Sayonara Wild Hearts for deep purple, 2064: Read Only Memories for blue, and Katamari Damacy Reroll for light blue.

 

Wild Hearts is outstanding. An incredible synth soundtrack that works in tandem with addicting gameplay along with creative levels to tell an extremely charming story narrated by Queen Latifah, that's what we're working with here, and if anyone played this game and hated it, I wouldn't be able to help lookin at em sideways. It's just a great game, all I can say.

 

I'm not much of a Point and Click/Visual Novel type person, so I approached 2064 with some trepidation, but I ended up having a dope time! The writing was funny and entertaining, and I was pleasantly surprised at not just how many topics were tackled here, but how well they were brought up. Everything felt very organic, and I'm already eyeing VA-11 Hall-A just to revisit the world!

 

I bounced around on light blue games til I saw that Katamari's image has a light blue background, and given how long I've been putting that one off, it just made sense. Katamari is delightfully weird and a lot of fun, but approaching it from a trophy hunter angle gave me much less joy than the other two?

I reckon Pink or Tan would be best... maybe Orange depending on the surrounding games chosen. 

 

Maroon seems a stretch - but Maroon can be an awkward one, so maybe see how it looks compared to some others once your rainbow is more filled out, and get a sense of whether it feels fitting then?

You know... it's not as bad as the haters said it would be. It's not the second coming of Christ (get some Easter up ya, PSNP), but I enjoyed the characters. CDPR can write a decent character, I'll certainly die on that hill.

That makes sense! I saw quite a few people using GotG, so I'll probably do the same unless I see something already in my library I'd rather use.

So here is my second card. This is going to be filled with nothing but RPGs because (1) I am participating in Psy's RPG Mania event, and (2) I have a few RPGs I did for KYC2022 and I want to get them out of the door. So... here we go.

 

For my first entry is a fine sky blue with Asdivine Cross for the PS5. I think I spent most of my life on that silly KEMCO title and even with the paid boosters, it took a while due to the enemy skill set that the masochistic teen Chibi-Usa has and how annoying it is to learn enemy skills.

Another 3 games down...

 

Aragami- Awesome pure stealth game that I hadn't heard about until fairly recently. Had a good time with this one and I'll likely be picking up the sequel next time I can catch it on sale

Murder House- I'm not gonna lie, I bought his game on sale a couple of weeks ago because the cover image of a pink murder rabbit was hilarious to me and I needed a game for pink lmao. Not mad at it though cause the game ended being pretty good. It's a mixture of 80's horror snuff film with og Resident Evil 1 tank controls and a dash of hilarity. This game slaps and I ended up picking up the other game these Puppet Combo guys put out called "Nun Massacre," because with a name like that why wouldn't I haha?

Donut County- A cute little chill Annapurna puzzle game where you play as a raccoon that sells people black holes apparently, 'nuff said lol.

What's up fellow Rainbow heads? Ahhh, that one won't stick..... never mind, I guess I'll just go back to making silly comments about one side of a card looking more naked than the other, so without further ado, I am adding a RED to the list..... With the GTAIV DLC, The Lost and Damned....  And it's all Red, it just has a transparent background, so we're all good on that front. 

 

I had a really great time with that, to the point where I ended up knocking out the entire DLC in one sitting practically, seeing what Johnny became in GTAV really surprised me, playing this for the first time, as it seems like such a far cry from the character he is here, I also think the way the story wraps itself around GTAIV's story is very cleverly done

 

..... I'm very much trying not to turn most of my posts these days into an "Oh my god, isn't my girlfriend awesome" post.... I mean, she is, but I always worry they're a little tiresome for people to read. ?

 

But, I probably do need to say a big thank you to her, because @Redblaziken8 was definitely the one that gave me the big nudge (and I really did need a massive nudge ?) into finally adding GTAIV to my account after not touching it since I was an achievement hunter back on Xbox.....Even to the point where she ended up buying me the physical edition of Episodes from Liberty City, so it was pretty nice playing the game bought by her on my Red PS3 controller ?.... for the red part of the card for my Rainbow card..... Now I've said Red so many times it's lost all meaning....

 

So I guess I'd better say it's great seeing those slots get filled in (again, minds out of the gutter, you filthy degenerates ) and for the left side of my card to not looking so naked again..... For now at least.....

 

Anyway, it's been fun, as usual, and I'll see you all in the next one!

Game #6 complete - Doki Doki Literature Club. Perfect for pink!

 

 

For those who don't know, this game is not your typical romance VN and is not the lucky-go-happy girly VN... Okay, maybe it STARTS like that, but it definitely doesn't end that way! ? In a way, it reminds me of Madoka Magica where it goes from magic girl anime to horror. Very similar vibes here. It takes a genre and flips it on its head.

 

Without spoiling too much, Act 2 was messing with me good. When I started the game in Act 2 once, it said,

"PM died for this" instead of the warning saying it's not for children. PM refers to Paula who if you look at the files, was someone who was clearly working on bugs, glitches, testing, etc for the simulation. which is a bit bone-chilling since act 2 is where glitches start to really fuck with the game.

 

I also got really creeped out by the weekend part with Yuri and the poem sharing process with her and Nanatsuki

 

On top of all of this, I really enjoyed the game for the facade of choice.  A lot of people really hate this, especially in TT games, but the facade here makes a lot of sense because the game wants to remind you that you are in a game. Deltarune does this too in a way to foil it to Undertale and since then, I've had a larger appreciation for it. Because, a lot of the time, it's intentionally designed this way, and it's interesting to think about the why imo.

 

Last thing I want to mention is that there is a lot of really good lore about the game that can be found on the game theorists YT channel so if a horror game dressed up like a slice of life game interests you, definitely take a look (and play this first). Really brings the whole thing together. 

 

Up next will either be Tales of Arise or 13 Sentinels most likely. May be a while before I post again!
