Popular Post wolker4
I created a bunch of videos showcasing skips & shortcuts that may be helpful for your speedruns and trophies/achievements. They're all super easy to do but do not use these skips and shortcuts in a playthrough where you're collecting all the collectibles otherwise you will miss some of the collectibles. If my videos have helped you, please leave a like and comment, and if you find more skips & shortcuts then let me know in the comments and I will add them to the main post. Important Note: All the skips where you could clip through walls have been patched with the latest update (1.005). However, you can still do these skips if you NOT install the new update or if you downgrade your game to an older version. Village Fight Skip (Chapter 1) You can skip the entire village fight in Chapter 1 by shooting the church bell in the tower. First, go up onto the roof where you can find the shotgun, and then aim at the church bell that you can see in the far distance and shoot it with a sniper rifle. However, this skip only works in New Game+, as you don't have access to a sniper rifle at the beginning of a New Game. Farm Area Shortcut (Chapter 1) In the farm area right after the village fight, you can use a small shortcut. You can either shoot the lock on the barn door with a weapon or throw a grenade through the small window. Once inside the barn, you can pick up the Wooden Cog, go up the ladder and go to the room with the door mechanism. Now place the Wooden Cog there and interact with the lever to open the gate. Lakeside Settlement Area Skip (Chapter 1, NG+ Assisted, Standard & Hardcore) - Patched with Update 1.005 This skip can be done in NG+ on Assisted, Standard & Hardcore difficulty. It does NOT work on Professional because there is no auto save function and all you need is a rifle with a scope on it. Go to the end of the tunnel before the Lakeside Settlement area. There is a wall where you can clip through by using the auto save function. Get your rifle with a scope on it out and go to the same wall as I do in the video. Now walk backwards against the wall while aiming with your rifle at the ground and then walk a bit to the left so it triggers the auto save. Reload the auto save and you will be behind the wall If done correctly. Now just follow the path from my video and you can run straight to the end of chapter 1. Valley Area Professional NG Easy Strat (Chapter 2) In the middle of Chapter 2, you have to go through the Valley area to obtain the Hexagonal Emblem which is necessary to open the gate. This video will show you an easy strategy to complete the Valley area quickly on Professional difficulty. To do this, you will need a W-870 shotgun, a pistol, and a flash grenade. Village Square Area Dog Fight Skip (Chapter 3) In Chapter 3, if you kill the villager at the beginning of the chapter before he runs away, the dogs in the village square area will not spawn. If you don't kill the villager, four dogs will spawn and attack you. Ashley Skip (Chapter 5, Full Chapter without Ashley) - Patched with Update 1.005 At the beginning of Chapter 5, you need to escape the church with Ashley. However, there is a trick to lock Ashley inside the church and complete the entire chapter without her. This saves a lot of time and stress, as she cannot be grabbed and killed by enemies, allowing you to focus on yourself. This skip can be done on any platform and difficulty, and all you need is a rifle. First, climb up the ladder, then take out your rifle and walk backwards into the wall while aiming at the ground. Next, release your aim and quickly perform a quick turn and press the interaction button (climb button) at the same time. If done correctly, you will fall to the bottom floor then walk through the fence and you're good to go. Cabin Fight Skip (Chapter 5, Any Difficulty) - Patched with Update 1.005 At the end of Chapter 5, you need to survive a cabin fight but there is an easy way to do it. This works on any platform and difficulty, and all you need is a rifle with a scope. Step 1: Collect all the loot inside the cabin. Step 2: Take out your rifle and clip inside the back corner of the balcony (aim at the ground and walk backwards inside the wall while aiming at the ground). The enemies will pile up in front of you and not attack you. Wait for around 8-10 minutes, and then get out of the wall to trigger the final cutscene. Also, take 1-2 health packs with you in case you get out too early or the enemies push you out and you get to much damage. Cabin Fight Professional NG Speedrun Strat (Chapter 5) At the end of chapter 5, you need to survive a cabin fight and I will show you a speedrun strategy for this. My setup for the cabin fight is an SR M1903 Rifle (Power Level 3) and a Shotgun (Power Level 2). You can obviously upgrade your weapons more if you have the money. In the first phase of the fight, you need to get 17 kills. After the ladder cutscene, you need to get 5 more kills to spawn the brute. Once the brute has spawned, focus only on him and try to kill him as quickly as possible. Once the brute is dead, the cabin fight will end. Chainsaw Bella Sisters Skip (Chapter 6) - Patched with Update 1.005 In chapter 6, you must fight the Bella Sisters to obtain the Cog which is needed to open the gate. However, there is a way to skip the entire fight on any difficulty except Professional, as there is no auto save function on Professional difficulty. For this skip, you need any rifle with a scope. The first step is to shoot the lock and open the door, then destroy the two barrels and move slowly to the corner. Once you're in the corner, start scoping at the ground and walking backwards and then start slowly to move to the right while scoping. When the game autosaves, pause the game and reload the autosave. You should then be inside the wall. Quickly step back once, take out your pistol and aim while taking the same path as I do. Follow my path and stay near the fences to avoid falling under the map. If you fall under the map, you can reload the save and you will be inside the wall again. It's easier than it sounds. Mendez Boss Fight Skip (Chapter 6) - Patched with Update 1.005 At the end of chapter 6, you have to fight against Mendez, but there is a way to skip the entire fight on any difficulty. You need to crouch into the left side of the merchant, then walk backward, and while holding back, you must interact with the merchant → close →interact → close. If done correctly, you should be behind the wall. Now follow the path shown in my video. Cannon Shortcut (Chapter 7) In Chapter 7, you'll need to fight your way inside the castle. However, there's a way to save some time. You can shoot the weight holding the cannon down through the window on the stairs, which means you won't need to go back down and up again once you get to the top of of the tower. Garrador Skip (Chapter 7) - Not the Door Glitch In the middle of chapter 7, you have to fight against Garrador, but you can skip this fight. This can be done on any difficulty. I recorded this video on Professional NG. All you need is a Bolt Thrower with one explosive mine. Just shoot an explosive mine at the same spot as I did in the video and quickly run to the crank and open the gate. Water Hall Room Professional NG Easy Strat (Chapter 7) At the end of chapter 7, you have to pass through the water hall room, and there is an easy strategy to complete it quickly. My setup for this strat is a SR M1903 Rifle (Power Level 5), a Shotgun (Power Level 2) & 1-2 Grenades. Also, Ashley has the Knight Armor on. You can run past most of the enemies except at the very end where you need to defend Ashley. At this point, you need to aim for some headshots. This strat has been pretty consistent for me, but there is always some RNG in this game, so I advise you to make a save before entering the water hall room. If you don't have the Ashley Armor then you can take some Flash Grenades with you and throw them whenever Ashley gets grabbed. Sun / Moon Switch Puzzle Skip (Chapter 8) You can skip the full sun/moon switch puzzle by using the a grenade or the rocket launcher. First, enter the main room and hit the lever to open the door. Then climb up the ladder and you will see a metal gate that leads outside. Throw a grenade or shoot a rocket through the gate to the right side, which will break the weights and open the gate. This lets you sprint across to the next castle wall that triggers the giant fight, bypassing the entire puzzle area. Gallery Room Skip (Chapter 9) In chapter 9, you need to obtain a Lion Head, a Goat Head and a Serpent Head. You can get the Goat Head very quickly by using the Bolt Thrower with an explosive bolt and shooting it to the left of the painting behind the lever. The walkway will NOT go down, and you can run straight to the Goat Head. Alternatively, you can also throw a grenade or a flash grenade which is even better because it will skip the small cutscene. Ashley Part Shortcut (Chapter 9) At the end of chapter 9, you play as Ashley and can take a shortcut to the Mausoleum by inputting the correct clock time in the first clock. The clock time on assisted/standard difficulty is 11:04, and for hardcore/professional, it is 7:00. Double Garrador Professional NG Easy Strat (Chapter 10) In the middle of chapter 10, you must fight against two Garradors to obtain the unicorn horns to open the big door. My setup for the double Garrador fight is a SR M1903 Rifle (Power Level 5) + Scope, a Pistol and 2 heavy grenades. After the cutscene, you have to shoot the left Garrador four times, then wait 3-5 seconds and shoot the bell. They will run to the bell and be stunned for a few seconds. Now, throw two heavy grenades at them and shoot the parasite of each of the Garradoses once. If you hit your shots, the fight will be over and you can grab the unicorn horns to open the door. Verdugo Boss Fight Skip (Chapter 10) - Patched with Update 1.005 At the end of chapter 10, you will face Verdugo, but you can skip the fight by clipping inside the elevator door and waiting for the timer (3.5 minutes) to run out. Step 1: Freeze Verdugo and open the gate. Step 2: Run to the elevator and evade all his attacks. Step 3: Take out your rifle, stand with your back towards the elevator, aim at the ground, and walk backwards inside the elevator door. Wait for the timer to run out (3.5 Minutes). Once the elevator arrives, Verdugo will leave and you can move onto the next chapter. Dynamite Skip (Chapter 11) At the beginning of chapter 11, you need to obtain some dynamite to destroy the wall. However, you can skip this part by simply shooting the wall with the rocket launcher, which will save you a lot of time. This is a reference to a strategy speedrunners used in the classic Resident Evil 4 before they discovered air walking. Kill both Giants in 1 Second (Chapter 11) - Credits to Ferdinand357 In chapter 11, you have to fight against two giants. You can kill both of them at once if you shoot a rocket at the unarmored giant. However, it will not work if you shoot the rocket at the armored giant. Fire Breathing Salazar Statue Shortcut (Chapter 12) In chapter 12, you have to fight your way up the stairs in the elevator room. To make this section easier on any difficulty, you can shoot the small barrel at the back of the statues head while going up the stairs. If you shoot the small barrel the statue will then stop breathing fire. Kill Salazar in 1 Second on Professional NG difficulty (Chapter 12, No Rocket Launcher) At the end of chapter 12, you will have to fight against Salazar. One effective way to kill him quickly is by throwing two golden eggs directly at his head, which can be done on any difficulty. One golden egg deals around 70% damage. Alternatively, you can throw one golden egg at his head and finish him off with with some shoots of the Broken Butterfly. Wharf Area Skip (Chapter 13) At the beginning of chapter 13, you have to cross the wharf area, but it's possible to skip this section. First, run to the end of the area to trigger the cutscene. After the cutscene ends, go up the stairs and shoot the Brute's weapon. Then, lure him to walk into the laser so that the machine gun starts shooting at him. If it does, you can then run through the laser and open the door. I have recorded this video on professional difficulty, but it should also work on other difficulties. Door Skip Glitch (Chapter 14) - Patched with Update 1.005 At the beginning of chapter 14, you need to make your way to the Cargo Depot. To get there, head through the door to the left of the Merchant. Once you go through that door, you'll see a set of big stairs in front of you and a door where you can do the door skip glitch to skip most of chapter 14. However, before you do this door skip glitch, you should adjust some of your settings. You must change the "Normal Camera Speed", "Normal Camera Acceleration" and "Field of View" all the way to the right (max). Once you reach the top of the staircase, start crouching and walk backwards towards the door, counting your steps to 5. Right before the last step, release the left stick and spin the camera while spamming the X/A button. This skip takes some practice and is unlikely to work on your first try. Wrecking Ball Segment Skip (Chapter 14) In the construction area of chapter 14, you need to interact with the crane, which will trigger a short cutscene. After the cutscene, you have to throw some grenades at the wall and wait for the wrecking ball to do the final hit. Two heavy grenades should be enough to destroy the wall, and you can complete this section in under a minute using this method. Krauser Boss Fight Professional NG Strat (Chapter 14) At the end of chapter 14, you need to fight Krauser. For this boss fight I use a SR M1903 Rifle (Power Level 5), a Pistol, Body Armor, and a Rocket Launcher for the final phase. Before starting the fight, I recommend you to make a save due to the RNG that the game sometimes has. In the first phase of the fight, you need to shoot Krauser's head with your sniper rifle before he can shoot his first bow shot. Once you hit him, run straight to the crank and interact with it to open the gate. Move onto the second phase, where you should shoot Krauser in the head 2-3 times with the sniper rifle, then quickly make a turn and evade his attack by moving towards the mine. The explosion from the mine will inflict significant damage to Krauser, allowing you to finish him off with a few more shots. For the final phase of the fight, use the rocket launcher to take out Krauser. The rocket launcher costs around the same as an upgraded Killer7 and you don't need to focus on making a lot of headshots. If done everything correctly, the fight will be over and you can move onto chapter 15. AA Turret Shortcut (Chapter 15) - Credits to Gundam-J25 In chapter 15, your objective is to destroy the AA turret so that the helicopter can return and destroy the gate. Instead of running up the side of the building to use the turret facing the AA turret, you can destroy the AA turret with a rocket launcher or two heavy grenades. Once the AA turret is destroyed, run towards the gate and wait for the helicopter to destroy it after a few seconds. Sanctuary Approach Area Skip (Chapter 15) At the end of chapter 15, you must cross the Sanctuary Approach area, but it's possible to skip most of the area. This skip works on any difficulty and is very helpful as it allows you to avoid a lot of enemies. To do it, simply go to the laser and wait for the Novistador to push you through the laser. This way, he will get attacked instead of you. Duffle Bag Glitch (Chapter 15) - Patched with Update 1.005 At the end of chapter 15, there's a very linear section where you basically just walk forward. However, there's a glitch that allows Leon to walk a lot faster and hold Ashley like a duffle bag. This glitch can be done on any difficulty and any platform, and all you need is a rifle with a scope and a grenade. This glitch must be done in one go and does NOT work If you die. When you enter the Bulwark Gate area, go to the left and climb up the ladder. Take out your rifle with a scope and walk backwards into the wall while aiming at the ground. Then move a bit to the left, release your aim, and make a quick turn and press the interaction button (climb button) at the same time. If done correctly, you will clip through the wall and you can fall under the map, as shown in the video. It will take a few seconds to get you back up. This will trigger the duffle bag glitch at the final section of chapter 15. Continue playing until the part where you have to pick up Ashley, but before you do, equip a grenade. Then start the cutscene. If everything was done correctly, Leon will hold Ashley like a duffle bag and walk much faster than normal. I have tried it out with the Blacktail, Punisher and Matilda pistol. Its probably better to do that area legit without the skip in NG and only use that skip in NG+. Gundam-J25
You can blow the AA turret up in chapter 15 with a rocket launcher. Haven't tried lobbing grenades up there.

Popular Post Optinooby
These are great tips, but just for any new players reading, none of these tips really apply if you're going for All Treasures or playing Pistol only. These tips are pretty much aimed at pure speedruns or NG+ runs. I think the Farm skip still applies to NG and Pistol only as I shot the lock a few days back. The Gallery and Ashley skip cant be used though as you will miss treasures and a weapon. I havent got any further than that.

Undead Wolf
I was expecting these to be glitches. It's really cool that these skips were actually intended by the devs, especially the dynamite, wrecking ball, and AA turret ones. Thanks for raising awareness because I'd definitely like to try these out on my next playthrough. ?

Half an hour of trying with Red9 out of curiosity, didn't work either. Now I kinda wonder whether guns have some sort of a hidden range stat or it was just programmed to only work with scoped/rifle type weapons. Not that it changes the outcome. BestUsername----
For the Ashely’s clock puzzle it would be beneficial to include that the solution is for the clock to read 11:30 on Assisted and Normal and 7:00 on Hardcore and Professional. I think I've seen Distortion's save file get bugged out during the wrecking ball fight where enemies just didn't spawn and Ashley's wrecking ball kept doing nothing to the wall so it lasted forever. He did the door skip prior so that might have been why. Still it is a good trick that can definitely save a lot of headache on Pro NG. Just need to know which door skips can cause problems.
