Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #241 The Last Campfire The Last CampfireEarn all other trophies. Finally got around to playing this, it was a gem in my opinion. Though I'll say and it may sound weird, that I didn't love it as much as I thought I would but I still loved it. It makes sense in my mind at least. Only struggled with two puzzles, one I wanted to slap myself it was so obvious. The other I just couldn't do on my own. Most of the puzzles were pretty easy to do, and it didn't even require getting the little journal entries. Which is good as I missed two somewhere. But they had nice world building to them and I'm glad I got most of them for that reason. It has a nice art style, but I did have a lot of random stutters here and there. Every autosave, but also just sometimes moving too. idk, not a big deal but kind of annoying. The music was good. I liked the plot, even if a certain aspect of it was a little heavy handed. Plat icon is nice too.
Popular Post whodeygamer
#33: Astro’s Playroom I can say for a fact that this is the best tech demo I’ve ever played. Not that I’ve played very many games that are considered tech demos, the only other ones I can recall that would qualify are Nintendo Land for the Wii U and Aperture Desk Job for Steam Deck. I think the fact that Sony paid homage to all their past video game systems in this one game gives it the edge over Nintendo Land.

Valzentia
#95 - Monopoly Madness (NA) Difficulty: 1.5/10 Fun: 7/10 I quite like Monopoly and this was free with my PS Plus Premium/Ubisoft+ subscription, so I gave it a shot. Nearly every trophy here is more or less RNG-based, but it's very doable with patience. It's the board game on steroids, so if you don't like heavily modified board game spinoffs you'll probably hate this. It's more fun with friends than solo as well, being a party game and all. #96 - Pretty Bird (NA) Difficulty: 1/10 Fun: 7/10 This one was done on a dare from @Mikachu9947, but I quite liked Flappy Bird so I actually unironically enjoyed this one. Other than that, there isn't much to say about this one.

Not as good as the reviews seemed to indicate. The story is alright, but this game has plenty of clipping issues, the odd ragdoll moments on environmental objects and some stuttering. Elvick_
Platinum #242 EyePet & Friends Platinum PetUnlock all other trophies in the game Took me 10 years to finally get back to this. I loved the first one, it was super cute. This one however ruined a lot of the magic of the first. Granted, it's been forever since I've played the first but one of the sticking points is the fact that in place of the little portal that would open in the ground in the first game that would then produce any toys or minigames, it just has a curtain that covers up the screen and then random not-your EyePet animations fly around while it loads behind the curtain. How lame is that? Totally breaks the immersion. Which is evident from the first moments of starting the game each time. You load up the game, the camera does it's stupid thing (today I didn't bother to turn on my light and sat on the couch far away and suddenly the setup is perfect when you can't see shit and it looks like I'm on a potato, but when the lighting is good and you actually can tell what is happening it's "not ideal" and you should retry... what. No wonder I couldn't play Diggs Nightcrawlers in our old house's lighting when it was perfect. I should've just did it in the dark. I digress... Back to my point, to "summon" the Pet you have to like hold your PS Move to the ground and then it opens a portal. Which makes sense in the original. In this after you do it, which doesn't work too well/consistently it will then just cover the screen with the curtain. So why even have this? Just load up the pet from the first load screen instead of this useless element that doesn't serve any function since you ruined the original's ability to maintain a connection with your pet. The one positive of this one is there's no online trophies like the original so it's still obtainable. I had already gotten the original because I'm cool. Most of the minigames are conceptually neat, but control wise all the same. Point to move around. There's even one with a rocket that only moves left and right, which starts with you needing to hold your PS Move upright and shake it to get a big amount of boost to go further without collecting gas as you go. Instead of having you tilt the remote left and right to move left and right... move the cursor and then push the button (T or Move I forgot which). That's not fun. That's tedious and stupid. And counter intuitive to how you'd expect it to control. Every game does this. And some are not at a 2D camera angle making it really hard sometimes. For example the worst minigame (at least for the trophy related to it... actually I'd say it's the worst in general). For some reason the Frog Bop (Bopper trophy; collect points from each type of frog) has the least amount of time to do anything, in yet it's the slowest minigame to do anything in. YOu have to pick up little pads (2 available, one the Pet will be on). And then this allows the Pet to walk toward the frogs and close them to get points. Well, the problem with the trophy is that 999% of the time it won't even give you all 5 types of frogs in a match. And there's barely any time. And everything is so slow. From the movement of the Helicopter itself, to the Pet who often will move onto the platform you wanted to move somewhere else fucking you in the ass. One game I had zero of the purple frogs. Then the next game that was most of the frogs I got but it wouldn't give me the 200 frog. Then I had one which wouldn't give me the orange one until near the end 10s on the opposite side of the map, I get there but a 200 I get along the way then spawns a purple next to the orange so instead of getting that one it grabs the purple since it was worth more points (I assume that's how it's programmed) and time ran out. I had to play this tedious game 20+ times. Not only that, but often times the platforms won't be picked up and the Pet will be in the way so you can't see where the cursor is to place things so you can place them improperly behind it. It was a nightmare of RNG and bad controls and camera. Fun~ Meanwhile the other Helicopter mini game has you pick up blocks and it picks them up so fucking fast it made me so mad after playing the stupid frog one. And the menus, dear god the menus. Feels like half my play time was waiting for the menu icons to load. I don't know if I've ever seen a game with menus quite so bad before. And you have to shift through many pages in the store over and over and over and buy over 200 items and cycle down each page every single time because it doesn't remember your position since it kicks you out to have the Pet try on everything after you buy it instead of just letting you buy things quickly and try them on later. I would've platinum'd the game last night/this morning if not for that. Not a fan of & Friends. I still iked the original though. It's a shame they'll die on PS3 (and PSP, the PSP had a camera and yes I have it and EyePet :P) Almost 12 years since I've platinumed the original game which only took me 4 weeks. That game was a lot more fun in delivering the experience of an AR pet. This one feels more like a chore. Granted it's off a lot of memory, I'm sure the minigames in that were still janky as hell, but I can overlook that when it's immersive and I'm not constantly taken out of the experience with a stupid load screen. I'm sure nobody cares and most people on this site would've only played a game like this for an 'easy' platinum (though that trace minigame was stupid as hell, but someone on .org actually helped me figure out how that janky point system worked; oh and there's one of the tractor minigames with a ball and in co-op I lost to my non-playing self because the balls just roll on their own and it was bouncing all over the place and there's no way to pin them anywhere it was quite embarrassing to lose to nothing.) But I actually like games like this and this was such a disappointment when it came out, and it remains to this day. But, I am glad to have it off my backlog forever and now I never have to play it again. It pushed me over 55% completion too, so I'm approaching my goal of 60% slowly but surely.
Popular Post slender_adrian
#103 Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 Grind: 1/10 Time: 18 Hours (21 hours real time) Rarity: [Ultra Rare 1.4% / Very Rare 7.51%] Personal Milestone: 21st fastest achiever "Jackpot!" Devil May Cry is one of the first videogames I remember playing as a kid and up until this day the original DMC is one of my favorite videogame. Last year I got this plat for the ps3 version and since I was very familiar with it I decided that for the very first time I was going to do something a different, my plan was to get the ps4 plat under 30 hours since I didn't thought I could do it on less time but I was wrong. I haven't played DMC since last year so I was feeling very rust, so back to my ps3 I went, I played a bit on my ps3 to get used to the game again especially it's control scheme, I played until mission 8 I believe while doing the secrets missions available, getting blue fragments and farming red orbs. At that point I was confident on coming back to this game on my ps4, the only problem was one particular trophy, which made my life a pain back when I was going for the DMC plat on the ps3. This time, on my normal run I went for some specific requirements for that trophy, which are very hard to get later on. The original Devil May Cry is the hardest game in the series to play casually, that is if we don't consider the original NA release of dmc3, when I was going for my ps3 plat I had a hard time playing it on normal and I couldn't imagine how hard and dmd would be. But this time I wasn't starting from scratch since all of the knowledge I had from previously getting the platinum on the ps3 was there, and this time I knew a lot of ways and tricks to get things done faster and efficiently. Like getting every upgrade available on mission 4 or getting bosses pretty easily, especially Nelo and Nightmare, which in my opinion are the hardest bosses if you don't know what to do like all of us on our first playthrough. If I was going to do this plat under 30 hours, I was going to do it in two parts: The first one would be my Normal and Hard playthroughs and the second would be Dante Must Die. On my first playthrough, normal, my plan was to get all the upgrades and secret missions. Getting the upgrades that you must buy was simple, go on mission 4 kill phantom save and quit and so on. The secret missions weren't particularly hard, instead they were actually pretty fun. The one thing I was really going for on this run was a Shadow entry which is very hard and annoying to get on hard and I think is impossible on dmd(not sure). Other than that I played normally, I only died while doing SM01 and I didn't have any problems getting this run done, it took me 4 hours playtime and 5 hours RT. And now that my warming up was over it was time to go to the easiest and most enjoyable playthrough, my hard playthrough. Hard playthrough, nothing special about it, my main focus was I read you like a book trophy, which is one of the two hardest trophies in this game. At the beginning of this run it was very annoying getting some of these entries you need, especially the sin scythes and any other enemy that flies somehow. But there was a point were I was actually having a lot of fun on this run, fighting Nelo was pretty cool, I finally got my revenge on him on Hard, this time kid didn't stand a chance. A simple run and very boring getting those entries but in the end this was my favorite run, this run took me 3:30 hours and RT 5 hours, at this point I took a break to prepare myself for Dante Must Die difficulty. Dante Must Die... by far one of the hardest difficulties I've seen and that's only cause of bosses in my opinion, normal enemies on dmd aren't a problem, they can be easily defeated, there might some tricky areas involving normal enemies but if you can breeze hard, normal enemies in dmd shouldn't be to much of a problem, besides that, you can skip 90% enemy fights, it is really not necessary to fight most of the time unless you're a S rank freak. With that said... bosses, well they are awfully hard and that's the biggest threat on this difficulty, they can easily kill you in very few hits, Phantom can 2 shot you and Nelo kills you in 4 hits and lets not talk about Nightmare or Mundus. So how to dmd? Well there are 2 ways to get this mode done, one being the hard way, playing and getting good, and the second is by using items. If you want to get dmd done the fastest and easiest way possible just get enough items to help you out with bosses, but keep in mind that once you start dmd there's no turning back, since you can easily get stuck. So after a long 21 hours, I got this plat under my mark, which was 30 hours, I'm just another mortal and I don't go for ultra hardcore challenges or games but doing this Devil May Cry Platinum challenge was awesome! This platinum was very fun, totally love this game haha I finished it a thousand times now but its always good to come back and revisit Mallet Island once in a while. DMC1 fans know what's here hehe: Spoiler Edited September 16, 2022 by slender_adrian

Popular Post Jelly Soup
#159 - Astro's Playroom Tried it on a whim, had been told how good it was since I got my PS5. Was surprised at just how good it was. Spot on platforming, cleverly hidden collectables and a great OST. I wouldn't mind having a copy of those start up jingle remixes. Really fun going down memory lane, seeing all the series references and old hardware. Got a double jolt of the nostalgia goodness, my nephew, who just turned 16, didn't know what half the stuff was. So I got to nerd out and over explain, with personal stories and offhand knowledge, all the junk and references. A true love letter from where Playstation started. Toss in some really cute controller stuff. The game starts out with the bots jumping into your controller and yelping at you every time the thing is shook. Normally i really hate motion control. Like, really hate it. Always sours a game for me at step one. But I stuck with it and found it pretty tolerable, that damn monkey climbing suit aside. One other thing, and this is such a stupidly minor gripe, one of the little dioramas from the gacha game got to me. The Playstation Home logo. Oh, god you know what it is, make Sony stop forgetting it existed. That dump rewards program thing with the digital unlock crap, a new version of Home would be perfect for that lasjdhflkjadlfkjalkdsjhgopiahjglkasdjl
