Has anyone else finished yet? As it stands now, even if the Third Elite wins this round, they'll still lose. The only chance they have is to convince one of the dormant Elite to try.

Congratulations to the Third Elite for winning the Final Event! It's a shame you didn't secure second, but winning an event is still something to be proud of. Also, congrats to the Fifth Elite for finally finishing an event above last place (I counted correctly this time, so no worries)!

Once again, congratulations to the Sixth Elite for an overwhelming victory! You all should've received your prizes by now. Congrats to the Fourth Elite too for coming in second. If you haven't received your prize already, you should have it within the next few hours.

 

Now that the Olympics is officially over, I can honestly say that this has been a pretty bumpy ride. We started out with 16 Elite, and by the end, only six brave warriors stuck it out (really only three since half of the teams pretty much stopped trying midway). That being said, there are two questions that I've been asked recently.

 

"Will you ever run this event again?" - The short answer is no.

"Do you regret creating the Olympics?" - The short answer is no.

 

While the Olympics may not have been the success it could've been, I view this event as a large-scale experiment for other things I'm planning for the future. For example, the Rarity Frenzy was a test-run of the Rare THL: Revival!, and rounds like the Filthy Bronze Round and Couples Synergy were experiments for original leagues that I hope to reveal within the next year.

 

I know a lot of people have had complaints about both individual parts of the Olympics, as well as the event itself, and I apologize. While I've run simpler events in the past, this was the first large-scale event I've run, and I can see now that I'm simply not suited for it (at least not yet). I tried making decisions based on what I thought was fair, but apparently, my opinion was in most cases the minority. I hope no one took any of my decisions too personally.

 

I hope at least some people had fun this month, and like I said, a lot of the Olympics will be crafted into smaller events, so please give me feedback if you have any (either here or via pm).

 

EDIT: In case I didn't mention it earlier, thanks so much to my admins and prize donors. This thread would've died in a virtual fire without you!
