Since yesterday I platted on my Vita: Senran Kagura Bon Appétit! -> 4 years, 3 months Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves -> 4 years, 8 months Kinda "ridiculous" when what was left for the platinum wasn't that much. Somehow gained motivation to do 40 more songs in Senran and finish the Master Thief challenges in Sly 3. It was not that hard as I expected. I also downloaded Danganronpa 2, but this one is going to be a bit more grindy, as well as moving on with FF7 Remake on PS4 which is really close. It leaving plus extra was a good incentive since I don’t actually own the game. I last played it while it was on ps now and started new game plus, but ran out of time before it left back then. For some reason I started a new game on Friendly difficulty though, I can’t remember why. Maybe I thought the game was too hard, but anyway I must have gotten better at the laying games since then because I found Ultimate difficulty to be a breeze. So I've only been able to get one game completed this month so far since I decided to try my hardest to get Iceborne done this month as well, sadly it's looking like that won't happen, maybe next month? who knows. Either way I finally did get a game done which is a pretty easy one. I don’t think I’ll get another one finished unless I manage to fit Catherine in in the next week. Anyway, I enjoyed Man of Medan, the first two times. I played movie mode with my partner, and shared story with a friend, and both times were without a guide so I didn’t manage to get any of the death specific trophies. It meant I had to play it another 3 times fully, plus a few partial playthroughs to pick up collectibles. I really liked seeing the different endings and how different the playthroughs could get, but playing through the first act and first couple chapters of act 2 became a slog because of how similar they were. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Had to save a touching moment from Ellie's birthday for the platinum screenshot. Considering Grounded mode wasn't required for the platinum, I just needed to do a collectible clean up run. Figured I'd do the whole game again on Light+ because I was missing collectibles from every act & it'd been a few years since I'd seen the story. So I bundled a Permadeath by chapter run as well; & there I was with just Grounded standing between me & 100%. Lo & behold, there's an excellent glitch to enable one shot kills & infinite ammo. & I'm not even ashamed to admit I went for that & polished off the Grounded run in a few days. So, I'm reporting a 100% completion! I'm guessing most gamers have either played at least the first game, or know enough about it already I'll skip the intro & jump straight into my thoughts on the gameplay/story. Enemy encounters were a challenging improvement from the first game. The AI in the human enemies, especially the Seraphites, proved the most difficult for me. Infected were easy before to kite around or distract in combat, but all my old tactics went out the window for the human enemies. Areas were huge. Almost too much to make it worth my while to explore/scavenge on higher difficulties. Surprisingly though, I think I was missing just 40ish out of the 200+ collectibles. Guess I did pretty good combing through on my first playthrough. Story. Yeah, story that's a never ending opera length. The story was a large reason I didn't care to do Grounded legit like in 1. I'll rant about the story in the spoiler below: Spoiler Frankly, the entire driving point of Abby's revenge is complete BS. I clearly remember in 1 clearing that last gauntlet in the hospital to save Ellie. & even though I was in the zone to get there, I stopped in the Surgery when the doctor pulled a scalpel. Because it was just a blade. I'd gone through bullets & bloaters, impaled by a steel rod. Were they serious in thinking a blade could stall Joel? Plus, this is probably one of the few remaining medical professionals left on the planet. How he missed out on getting infected during the outbreak considering he worked in the medical field, is a query for another time. But there is no reason to think Joel was not capable of incapacitating instead of killing him. & I tried just that in a subsequent playthrough (I must have played that game 5 times). I tried just walking up to trigger a melee struggle. No good. I tried initiating a melee attack. No good. I tried a non vital shot with my weakest weapon. No good. I tried going around by the nurses. No good. I have never accepted killing that doctor. So the whole basis for 2 goes out the window for me. Not to mention the length of this story is too much. As in, I'd be good if the game ended on Ellie's Day 3 when Abby catches up to her in the theater. Make Abby's Days Part 3. Hell I really didn't even see the need for the Santa Barbara chapter. It felt like a cram to get more drama out of the story. It wasn't enough time to flesh out the Rattler gang's story. Plus, why only show us what didn't await Ellie at the end, but leave Abby's ending open? It all just didn't feel worth 50+ hours of a Grounded playthrough. & letting it take up a whooping 100GB on my console. I have plenty of other games I can be putting my time toward enjoying. Shout out to the side characters; Dina, Lev, Jesse, Owen, Manny, & Yara. They were awesome. On deck (though why I bother planning when I end up just playing whatever): Root Double: I'm still reading bits & pieces. Borderlands 3: I reinstalled the game on my console, but not any of the DLC (though I have both season passes). I was able to squeeze out another game for this month after Tunic, and with 2 days left to go I got Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back done! I wasn't sure if I was actually going to get it done if I am honest with you, the time relics on some levels were really ball busters but after some time I finally got all of them and all of the gems out of the way! Need for Speed: The Run All 43 Trophies 1st May 2023 • Completed in 10 years, 2 months Not my favourite need for speed but enjoyable, made me want to try one of the newer instalments and see if they have went back to what made the originals so enjoyable. Dirt Showdown All 50 Trophies 2nd May 2023 • Platinum in 10 years, 2 months Really liked the Dirt game for some simple driving fun, always fun to be had but always get very repetitive. Bejeweled 3 All 12 Trophies 5th May 2023 • Completed in 10 years, 9 months Always hated these types of puzzle games, so this was torture to me, I just dont have the focus for these. FIFA Street All 35 Trophies 5th May 2023 • Platinum in 10 years, 4 months One of my all time favourite sports franchises, although I did prefer the ones back on the PS2. I remember the MP for this was really tough, but enjoyed going back to this one, hopefully one day they make something similar. Battlefield 1 All 51 Trophies 6th May 2023 • Completed in 6 years, 6 months A couple guys I was doing GTA V with were boosting this so I joined them for the DLC, was quick and simple. Used to enjoy the game quite a bit when it came out despite not being a MP guy. Did annoy me that the DLC went on offer a couple days after I bought it! The MP was good fun, so have been looking forward to the new MP they are supposed to be bring out. Was actually really fun playing this after getting so involved the with HBO series. Just joining in on the Doctor Who love here, I've been re-watching some of the episodes and it really is great. @kylebaptie would highly recommend if you have the time to spare, and even though the CGI of the first seasons of the revival is... not great, on the whole it's still brilliant!
