Trophies for Trophy Hunting

Welcome to this new trophy competition that I've called "Trophies for trophy hunting".

I feel like most of the active challenges/competitions here are mainly focusing on collecting platinum trophies and attaining 100% completion.

Instead of adding another one into the mix, I thought I’d come up with something new and this is the result of that.

This competition is one where I have set certain challenges to complete whilst trophy hunting. Think of it as trophies you can get for hunting trophies.

The purpose of this challenge is to find unearned trophies that meet the requirements for those challenges. Maybe those challenges are that last bit of motivation you need to pick up that old game and achieve that trophy. 

 

How do the challenges work?

For the month of April there are 40 challenges to complete. The list of challenges will be placed below.

You can complete challenges at your own pace.

If you’ve completed at least 35 of the 40 challenges, you can score more points by going for the same challenges again (round 2)

You can still complete the last 5 challenges from round 1 after you’ve started round 2 but you can not complete a challenge in round 2 if you haven’t yet completed that same challenge in round 1.

 

Points

You get 1 point per completed challenge.

 

How do we keep score?

If you’ve completed 5 or more challenges you make a post about those trophies and I will award the points.

At the end of the month if you have 3 completed challenges left that you haven't posted about, you can make a post for just those 3 challenges of course.

Participant with the most points at the end of the month is the winner.

 

How do I post completed challenges?

You post the name of the trophy with which you’ve fulfilled a challenge and the number of the challenge. Based on that trophy I will check your trophy log to see if you’ve met the conditions. (for example for the challenge ‘get 5 trophies in an hour’ you will name one of those 5 trophies and I will check if there are indeed 4 other trophies attained within the same hour)

For example: Completed: Challenge 9. Get a trophy that has the word egg(s) in the trophy name: Egg Hunt - Spyro the Dragon

 

You can only complete 1 challenge with the same trophy. So once you’ve named a trophy to complete a challenge you can not name that trophy to complete another challenge.

Trophies with which you’ve completed a challenge, can however still be used to meet requirements for challenges which require multiple trophies. (For example for the challenge ‘get 5 trophies in an hour’ you can use trophies with which you’ve completed other challenges, at least one of the 5 trophies must not have been used for another challenge so you can name that one to complete the 5 in one hour challenge)

For Example if you've completed the following 5 trophies within the same hour the post will look like this:

Challenge 9. Get a trophy that has the word egg(s) in the trophy name: Egg Hunt - Spyro the Dragon

Challenge 16 Get a trophy that has the letters F O O L S in the trophy name: Fool's Errand - Spyro the Dragon

Challenge 21. Get a trophy that has the letters A R I E S in the trophy name: Birds of a Feather - Spyro the Dragon

Challenge 12: Get a trophy that has the letters G R E E N in the trophy name: What really grinds my gears - Spyro the Dragon

Challenge 7. Get 5 trophies within the same hour: Pops of the Tops - Spyro the Dragon

 

How do I sign up?

Just comment that you will be competing and you’re good to go.

You can still sign up after this competition has started (April 1st). You can use trophies you've earned before signing up to complete challenges, as long as you've earned them in this month (April 2019)

Please mention what timezone you’re in when you sign up. That way I can check any time specific trophies the right way

There is no maximum to the number of participants.

You will be added to the leaderboard and google spreadsheet once you've updated your first completed challenges

This is my first time organising any kind of competition. So any feedback or suggestions are always welcome. Please feel free to post any ideas or improvements.

Challenges will be up for a whole month, and if this proves to be a succes I will think of new the challenges for the next month 

 

The challenges for April 1st - April 30th:

1.     Get a trophy from a game that starts with the 'A'

2.     Get a trophy from a game that starts with the 'P'

3.     Get a trophy from a game that starts with the 'R'

4.     Get a trophy from a game that starts with the 'I'

5.     Get a trophy from a game that starts with the 'L'

6.     Get a trophy every day for 7 days in a row

7.     Get 5 trophies within one hour

8.     Get a trophy that has the word 'east' or 'easter' in the trophy name (may also be a part of a longer word)

9.     Get a trophy that has the word 'egg(s)' in the trophy name (Axe and ex will count as well) (may also be a part of a longer word)

10.  Get a trophy which has all the letters B U N N Y in the trophy name

11.  Get a trophy which has all the letters S P R I N G in the trophy name

12.  Get a trophy which has all the letters G R E E N in the trophy name

13.  Get a trophy which has the word 'king' in the trophy name (may also be part of a longer word)

14.  Get a trophy from a game which was originally released in april (year doesn't matter) (it also counts if another version of the game or remaster was released in april)

15.  Get a trophy which has all the letters J O K E in the trophy name

16.  Get a trophy which has all the letters F O O L S in the trophy name

17.  Get a trophy from a game that is labelled with the theme: 'comedy' on PSNP

18.  Get a trophy from a game that you started in April 2019

19.  Get a trophy from a game from which you’ve earned your first trophy over a year ago

20.  Get 60 trophies within one month

21.  Get a trophy which has all the letters A R I E S in the trophy name

22.  Get a trophy which has all the letters T A U R U S in the trophy name

23.  Get a trophy which has the word 'super' in the trophy name (may also be part of a longer word)

24.  Get a trophy which has the word 'hero' in the trophy name (may also be part of a longer word)

25.  Get a trophy from a game that is labelled with the theme: 'action' on PSNP

26.  Get a trophy that has the word ‘days’ or the word ‘gone’ in the trophy name (the words day or daily will also count) (may also be part of a longer word)

27.  Get a trophy from a game that you started before April 2019 but is still under 20% completion

28.  Get a trophy from a game that you started before April 2019 but is still E or D rank

29.  Get a trophy that is awarded for finishing a game (finishing the story line/campaign)

30.  Get a trophy from a playstation plus game

31.  Get a bronze, silver and gold trophy from the same game

32.  Get a trophy from a game that doesn’t have a trophy guide on PSNP

33.  Get a trophy from a game that is part of a series that has at least 4 different games

34.  Get a trophy from a game in your favorite genre (You name your favorite genre this month, and that genre can't be changed as your favorite genre for the rest of this year. This challenge will be a recurring one)

35.  Get a trophy from a game that has no platinum trophy

36.  Get 4 PSNP uncommon trophies

37.  Get 2 PSNP rare trophies

38.  Get a PSNP very rare or ultra rare trophy

39.  Get a trophy from a game released in 2018

40.  Get a trophy from a game that has the same genre as the game from which you’ve earned your first platinum (If you don’t have any platinum trophies: the first game you’ve finished the story line/campaign from)

 

Important:

When going for challenge 27 and/or 28 please declare the game 24 hours before achieving the trophy, because the rank and/or completion may change after obtaining the trophy. You can achieve after I give you the green light or 24 hours after declaring. You can still change the target after declaring or you can declare multiple targets which can all be approved simultaneously

Idk if i'll be participating (not a lot of time and tight on cash rn), but i'll ask that one question that i think most community events get - how do i find trophies for that? Yeah, i could just search for trophies from current sales, but is there a better way? Or i'm just a whining bitch?

You can search for certain words in trophy names on https://psnprofiles.com/trophies as long as the words are at least four letters long.

If you have a lot of unearned trophies, you can sort them on alphabetical order in the trophy advisor on your own psnprofiles page. (assuming you still own most of those games)

I don't know what ARIES and TAURUS mean in this context though, can you explain that pls?

It is indeed themed around april
If your birthday is in April, your zodiac sign is either Aries or Taurus

The word king is because we celebrate King's day in April here in The Netherlands
super and hero because Avengers Endgame releases this April

Well, kinda, but there's still some things, i don't have backlog, so that doesn't work, and except for digging in the all trophies alphabetical, A, P, R,I and L are lucky if i got right trophy lists. And having B U N N Y letters and other challenges those type are on another level.

 

Not to say anything bad about the event though, it's a great idea and, what's nice, original, glad to see creativity.

Not sure if it's unclear but just to be sure: For the A, P, R, I, L, challenges, the name of the game has to start with that letter instead of the name of the trophy.

I know some challenges are harder to find the right trophies for, but you can always skip 5 out of the 40 challenges and go for round 2

It is the first time i'm setting up a challenge like this, so it will take some trial and error to come to the best version of it.
Should any challenge seem to be too hard, i will try something else next time

If you're asking this for challenges 27 and 28 'a game you haven't started this month' 

You've got to have started that game before april 1st, so yes in march 2019 or earlier

I don't have anything like badges yet.

What I meant is that you don't have to complete all 40 to keep scoring points.

You get a point for every challenge you complete. After you've completed at least 35 of the 40 challenges you can start your round 2. Meaning you can go for the same challenges to score more points.

So if there are challenges that you don't have the right trophies for you can skip 5 challenges and go for round 2 to keep scoring points
