IntroPhenom
Well if there's an impossible lair in the game I'm certainly not going to play it. But seriously, I like the look of this very much. 2-D platforming suits the characters well.
Kristycism
Sold! I know Yooka-Laylee gets a lot of hate, but I personally loved it, and will be getting this day one. Plus I can’t help myself when it comes to platformers (I prefer 3D but 2D is fun too). Looks like they’ve done a good job on it, the world’s seem quite vibrant and there looks like quite a large variety of worlds. Presumably the worlds will be less empty than they were in the original, now that they’ve switched to mostly 2D, which is one thing that most people complained about.
HellcoreFire
Who thought a sequel to this was warranted? The first one was so bad that even I never finished it and I always try to at least finish the story when I don't like a game.
Denvirus
I will get this to support Playtonic and the franchise, but I would have preferred another 3d game, or the promised DLC for the original!
zeit86geist
as long as they fix the bloody camera, im all in. def. waiting for reviews this time! edit// only 2d with 3d overall perspective. def. gonna pass! this looks like a high end mobile game. sad, a hopeful franchise, ruined. ghostehkins
So its essentially the mini-games from the first one spread out into a whole game? Interesting. I wonder if this is going to be sold for 60 dollars.
RuneEyesDragon
I wonder if the trophy list is going to be difficult. Considering it's just a 2.5 platformer with top-down overworld, it might be easy. Impossible Lair, my foot.

Sora9427
I'm really happy to see one of the Few Platformer in the recent years (Not considering Crash & Spyro being Remasters/Remakes), still gotta find the first one at good price but i'll surely get it :

EcoShifter
Having just gotten the platinum from the first game, this new direction is bad for being so different. This is heading in a similar direction Sonic did post 2006, even though with the new 2D sections (which actually doesn't overshadow the 3D, unlike the case in Sonic Generations, Sonic Forces, and Sonic Colors) Sonic Unleashed is one of the best Sonic games to ever be released. Looks like "Yooka-Laylee Colors" to an extent. Even if the 2D sections are well designed, to go from a fully 3D game to a what seems to be predominantly 2D game is jarring and stupid. (I blame all the overly critical consumers of the first game.) Mostly everything else looks fine, you have the tonics, different moves, varying environments, the platforming, the collecting, etc, etc. I'll have to see more of this to make sure they can either make a masterpiece out of what they're pursuing with this new style... or what they're doing here will surpass what they aimed to do with the first game (even though it's disappointing either way for no longer being of that standard 3D platforming style, like Spyro and Jak, that us 3D fans love), regardless of price unless it was $20 or cheaper, which it isn't. Speaking of which, the very inconsistent price tag among both retailers and versions of the game is extremely odd. What the hell is going on with that... Phlegeth
I'm excited, I was just thinking how I wanted a new platformer. The overworld really gives me a Donkey Kong Country 3 vibe and that's one of my favorite games.
