Ranting with friends about it is fun, not gonna lie. THE GOOD: - Gabriel's design looks good - Vampire Castle and Undead levels look decent - CD works as a nice frisbee - still better than DMC2 THE BAD: - on-crack camera - what controls? - B rate story on fast-forward - WHERE DID THE FINAL BOSS COME FROM? - poor implementation of game mechanics which are 6-7 years older - you won't get your time/money back I should've blocked you. Just kidding. Great write-up on the game, can't say I agree with it at all. As I've already stated, I legit remember having a blast with Lords of Shadow, and I'm not talking from nostalgia or anything like that. Sure, it had some rough spots here and there, but all in all, it was an epic monster-slaying adventure for me. I remember it more fondly than other hack n' slash games from the era. I really wish I could try out Dante's Inferno one of these days since that one has always been on my radar for a plethora of reasons. And if you say it's better than Lords of Shadow, welp, all the more reason to check it out.

Yes I legit was wondering how were you remembering this game fondly It legit worked like garbage for me and nothing really was redeemable. I really would have liked to have your copy of the game ? Yeah if you have the means, do try Dante's Inferno. It's actually pretty decent. Just...don't bother with the DLC ? Ok I have a very very VERY short update here about a very very VERY long game Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Tombs of the Fallen DLC Difficulty: What difficulty?/10 Personal impression: /10 This new DLC introduces 4 new tombs with deadly traps ready to plunder. Basically Eivor finds these illusory walls that he unlocks, hops inside and does the Tomb Raiding of his life. Tomb Riding meaning pushing some blocks to their place, putting an orb into an orb pedestal and avoiding the ultra deadly traps which means...spiky floors, spiky walls and gas, which barely scratch your life. It was stupid easy even for AC standards. The entire DLC took me 1 hour to complete, you only need to do 3 out of the 4 available tombs for the trophy. I'd say go for all 4, you will learn a little bit of history about Bretons and you will get a nice outfit that explodes on impact. Other than that... meh, a free DLC that nobody asked for. Back to the other games. THE GOOD: - you get back to Valhalla - new set is nice THE BAD: - the tombs really don't bring anything new on the table - you are again reminded how shitty the Valhalla parkour is - tomb puzzles so simple a toddler could do them - stopped me from playing other games
Popular Post Copanele
💯 No. 44 - Garfield Kart: Furious Racing Hardest Trophy: Super Mechano Cat - win all Gold Spoilers Difficulty: 6.5/10 - do not be fooled by the cute appearance, this game is hell Personal impression - 4.5/10 I have the strange feeling that I am cursed. Sometimes I have that urge to play an easy game, a cute and stupid game that will relax me or put me in a good mood. The moment I decide on a game to be my "easy to go" game, chances are that I will have a terrible time with it. Reason why I have avoided to go for "easy games" is because most of the time I get blasted by monstrosities like Garfield here. Garfield Kart Furious Racing is a...wait for it...Kart Racing game. Wowzies. The game is like a bootleg Crash Team Racing/Mario Kart/ any other kart game, with characters from the Garfield Universe. The way the game works is : pick a character, pick a car, pick a spoiler and pick a hat. Hat is very important. If you match the color of each item, you get a stat boost. e.g. Garfield + orange car + orange spoiler + sleepy hat = Initial D Garfield who will Deja Vu through the game. Now if you were to play this game like an online game or to have something to fool around with friends, this game wouldn't be so bad. You have enough map variety, the powerups are pretty fun and the controls are rather acceptable, if a bit iffy. So if you want to have a laugh at a super low price, sure go for it. Buuuuuut....we are on a trophy hunting site after all, so fun is not allowed ? All of the trophies can be achieved offline in single player. And unfortunately, in order to get 100% in this game, you have to deal with the AI of this game. Which I will have to say it's one of the cheapest AI I have ever encountered. The 100% demands are pretty straightforward: earn all the gold spoilers, earn all the gold hats, get all the puzzle pieces scattered around the world and do other misc stuff like perfect starts or whatever. The misc stuff and the puzzle pieces are pretty easy to do and shouldn't be an issue. What WILL be an issue is the gold spoilers. In order to grab them, you have to win all the races in a Grand Prix tournament on first place, on 150CC (hard difficulty). A Grand Prix consists of 4 gruelling races and you have to compete in 4 of the damn things. Now what can the AI do? Well for starters, the rubberbanding here is notoriously cheap. Doesn't matter how fast you go, how many lasagna boosters you use, how many powerups you hit the enemy with, they will always be faster and stronger than you. On Easy the AI is pretty dumb, true, but Normal and Hard the cheapness cranks up to 11. The AI will ALWAYS have the perfect weapon when racing you, always take the corners perfectly and pass you while you are turbo-ing. There's no beating the AI fair and square, it's like fighting tanks while on a bike with a lance. To show the perfect experience vs AI on NORMAL difficulty, I have the video right here: You don't even want to know how it is to race the HARD AI. You will cry. Also the physics in this game are sometimes broken. I fall off track even if I am on tracks, I get send out of bounds through the walls, get car resets randomly, it's a clusterfuck. So on top of having to deal with the stupid AI, you also need to know the track perfectly, or rather where on the track you can get glitched and be sent to kingdom come. Another video, since I love documenting this kind of stuff : Just for context - the corn field is a "wall" in this game, it's not considered Out of Bounds. So HOW do you beat the AI? Well i managed to find the perfect strategy for this game, foolproof strategy that will get you wins every time 60% of the time: Know the tracks by heart. There's no use even playing if you don't know WHERE you're racing. Use the dog. Fastest critter in the universe. Garfield is good on the final Grand Prix, but he's usually too slow. Learn how to drift boost. I think it's like in CTR, you drift, load up an invisible bar, sparks appear, release drift button to woosh. Save the homing pies in case the AI will get past you (and it will, trust me). Save as many pies as humanly possible. Pray. Find your favorite prayer and deity and go Umbasa faith +50. Really, I haven't seen such RNG since playing Mahjong in Yakuza. You are at the mercy of the AI, you will live and die by the AI. In some races the AI will randomly plunge into the abyss (very rare instances) OR somehow just won't get any powerups at all, but in most you will be bombarded by cream pies, springs, UFO's, that fkin perfume booster and so on. So yeah, I don't feel that I've won any of the races legit. I managed to master the tracks, get the perfect corners and have the proper weapons, just to be hit by a random pillow that puts me to sleep. Or lose near the finish line from a random homing pie, which honestly...what do you even do in these situations? So yeah, to hell with Garfield Kart. A game that got me so angry I actually slammed my controller to the floor, which is a thing that I never do since these darn plastic things are expensive. Not even Catherine got me this salty and that's saying a lot. So honestly, unless you are fooled by someone to give it a go or want to desperately prove me wrong, that the game is perfectly balanced and I am a fool who can't drift, avoid this game like the plague. Play something else. Crash Team Racing is miles better and I only played it for like 5 minutes at someone's home. You don't need this kind of stress in your life! THE GOOD: - funny power ups - if you like Garfield, you will like this one - chances are it's super discounted THE BAD: - hey kids, do you like pain? - the AI from this game will be used to enslave us all in the future - the music will get on your nerves when you restart the 100th time because FUCK YOU JON STOP HITTING ME WITH PIES! Recommendation: Anything else - play something else. Do your chores. Learn to play an instrument. Buy an actual Orange cat. Don't bother with this game. Tried it, that's a very poor strategy in this game. First of all being 2nd place doesn't prevent the 3rd place from blasting your ass with all he has i failed to mention that the AI will always prioritise you over the leader, except when the UFO power up is used. Second, you can block incoming power ups with a spring(if you manage to release it right before the moment if impact) . You bet the AI always has a spare spring that he perfectly uses. Sooo yeah... Popular Post Copanele
159 - Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition +💯 % completed Platinum Name: Guacamelee!Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy: Who put these here?? achieve 100% completion Difficulty: 3.5/10 Personal impression: 9.7/10 I have to admit, it's rare that I enjoy a game heavily recommended by others. This is basically because my moody game tendencies rarely help me go "hey, you guys liked this, I will definitely liked it too". Luckily, this wasn't the case with Guacamelee, one of the games that was heavily "advertised" as a hidden gem on this checklist of mine After coming around and playing it ... I have to admit, you guys were totally right. This game rocks! Guacamelee is a Mexican inspired Metroidvania where you control the Agave Farmer-turned-Luchador Juan Aguacate and help him in his quest to defeat the infamous Carlos Calaca and rescue his love EL PRESIDENTE'S DAUGHTER (she has a name but it's way more fun to yell "POR EL PRESIDENTE'S DAUGHTER"). In his quest he is added by the power of the Lucha mask, a mysterious luchador girl Tostada, the mystical old man-goat Uay Chivo and chickens. Lots of chickens. From the very first moments you get the impression that this game will be an unforgettable ride. The game is heavily Mexican themed, with the according colors and soundtrack, accompanied by some of the best references and memes ever. You really have to check every single detail in the background just to see the hilarious stuff that the devs left behind. In one hidden place there's even a QR code so blatantly dropped that I couldn't help but scan it. All I can say...well played devs, well played ? both me and my wife laughed our asses off. The humor is also in fair doses so I never thought they went overboard with it. Now the real meat of the game is the gameplay. The game is a hybrid between a beat-em up and a platformer. The beat-em up part is rather straightforward, but still satisfying - you punch enemies until they have a triangle above their head which is the indication that they can be grabbed, or in the words of almost-jedi master Anakin Skywalker "This is where the fun begins". You can grab the enemies and either throw them away for a large distance, kick them into the other enemies or my favorite, suplex slam them. Suplexing the enemies generates a shockwave and it's by far the most fun move in the game for me. I legit lost encounters because I wanted to stun the enemies just to boom shakalaka them and stun the surrounding enemies just to generate more shakalaka. Together with the new moves that you can learn from Uay Chivo (uppercuts, dashes, headbutts) you can legit string combos like in those sophisticated fighting games The enemies are also diverse, they hit a lot and hit HARD so you better master those sweet combos when playing on Hard mode. However, to everyone's surprise including myself, platforming was the best part of the game. It's not a secret that I hate platformers. I can't get along with them, jumping gives me anxiety and I think that Super Mario Bros is meant to torture children. Well I have to admit that this game has probably one of the best implemented platforming sections in a videogame. It forces you to utilize all the tools in your arsenal without going pixel perfect requirements like the insanity that is Super Meat Boy. The platforming sections turn into straight out puzzles, especially since at some point you can switch between living and dead world (dimension swap), some objects existing only in one dimension. It was endless fun trying to figure out how to cross a seemingly impassable trap room, or how to get to that out-of-reach chest with my precious life upgrade. I think I had the most fun when going after the Tule Tree Orb, considered to be the game's hardest section. Indeed, it was tough, but it also was so fun to slowly put the puzzle pieces together and do a flawless run. I honestly have nothing bad to say about Guacamelee. If anything, probably a downside (if it even can be called like that) is that it doesn't feel like a 10/10 game. But really, that is IT I really loved the game and will definitely give the second game a go later on. Thanks for the recommendation everyone THE GOOD: - the setting is amazing - really missed a Central American themed game - tight combat - best platforming I've experienced in a game - all around full of charm THE BAD: - uh...makes you want to play the second game ? There's no real bad thing about this game. Recommendation: Salt & Sanctuary Metroidvania combined with Dark Souls mechanics and lore. If you liked Guacamelee, you'll like this one too Edited December 24, 2023 by Copanele

DrBloodmoney
Yo @Copanele - I haven’t quite made up my mind on it yet, so this isn’t exactly an ‘endorsement’ as such, but I started a game yesterday that - at least on paper - feels like one you might want to at least have a wee look at - Gods Will Fall. It’s a sort of rogue-like dungeon crawler, but with a little ‘Soulsian’ flavouring around the edges, and a sort of Ryme-goes-Pagan aesthetic. Not finished a run yet, and it has a few negatives (slightly imprecise fighting at times, and a lack of enemy ‘lock-on’,) but has some pretty interesting ideas - throwable stolen weapons, a party of characters with different abilities, corpse runs for ‘lost’ party members - and a really interesting take on bosses, where their health bar is visible right from the beginning of an area, and you can reduce it somewhat before even facing them by killing more of the regular enemies (their followers). It's pretty good so far - yeah, that mechanic is neat - and actually deeper than I initially thought - it seems some levels also have non-enemy ways to reduce their health too - breaking monuments or pyres and the likes (though I've only found one so far!) There also seems to be a lot of milage in the random skill assignments of the group, and their 'personalities' - different ones have different relationships and fears and stuff, so will get buffs depending on who else has been lost, or different Gods they fear more and such - it's making different runs feel quite unique, even though only the enemy placements change in each one (the actual level layouts are static, I think) The one thing it really could do with though, is a damned enemy lock-on! It also makes sense that you didn't have trouble with the platforming in games like S&S. I'm sure you'll enjoy Guacamelee 2 as well! The combat is probably better (since it introduces different powers while in Pollo-form as well, making the chicken actually viable in combat), and what's great is that Hard Mode actually does not only affect the enemies, but also makes the platforming more challenging. Everything is still very manageable though, especially since the game is so fun that failing a section a couple of times is no reason for frustration

Especially since the platforming looks just as tight. ??? You know... I had written something along the lines of "Once you are done with Guacamelee 2, I feel confident in recommending Hollow Knight next" but decided to delete the sentence not because of the recommendation, but because I didn't want to put yet anohter game in your backlog ? Hollow Knight is the best Metroidvania I've played. Period. The platforming is very easy BUT tight, you are right there. But that's not what the game is about (except Path of Pain.. don't google that, let yourself be surprised), it's all about exploration and cool fights. Definitely give it a go

Definitely give it a go Hah the synchronization ? definitely giving it a go then. But will see what I will tackle next after finishing playthrough 153416 in Uncharted 1. For sure Hollow Knight will move up my priority list. What I will check however online is how to get a map the first time I played the game on a PC I was "WHERE DO I GO" x100. 8 minutes ago, DrBloodmoney said: I don't know if that was me or not... ....BUT I STAND BY IT! SoTC rules! Thank God it wasn't by you ? someone else from around these parts. But just like another game (which I won't name and also refuse to try and also it has a 5 at the end, Arcesius knows of it :> ), SotC might rule, just not in this kingdom ? we value gameplay and responsive controls here STUPID HORSE TURN LEFT ALREADY! ...ahem yeah. PTSD still there.

SoTC is like reading old, archaic poetry - there's majesty, grandeur and great beauty in there.... but it takes looking past some properly archaic stuff, and a lot of patience and forgiveness to get to it! ?

Yep that's pretty much the description that I heard apparently I was all out of forgiveness because...well you know my opinion about the game. Oh well, can't love them all ?

Definitely give it a go I have to wholeheartedly agree with you here, Arc!! Such an amazing game on pretty much every level. The platforming is not excruciatingly hard necessarily, so @Copanele it might be more up your alley because of that! Except for Path of Pain, but like @Arcesius said, just let that one be a surprise to you ? IIRC, I thought that area was optional tho? I could be mistaken, but at least I thought it wasn't necessarily required for the full 100%...

All I am hoping is that Path of Pain is not as jank/awful/please shoot me like Stormy Ascent was in Crash Bandicoot. If I have to do that kind of stupid shit one more time I might lose it
