Return of the Obra Dinn is a charming puzzle game created by the same guy (Lucus Pope) who did Paper's Please. You are an insurance inspector for the east india trading company and have to investigate a ship that mysteriously returned to harbor.  A survivor of the ship sends you a book to fill out as you investigate the ship as well as a magic pocket watch that lets you watch the last moments of a person's life.  You must then use the clues you gather to identify who everyone is and how they died as well as unravel what happened to the ship.  Its a really charming game for what it is and worth the purchase.  Its a really easy 1/10 platinum with a guide.  If you decide to play it without one though, it can be a good bit more difficult.  Maybe a 4-5/10.  I recommend playing through without a guide to start.  Definitely a great game.

Managed to get a good deal of progress done with this one.  I've gotten quite a few of the box gems and secret exit and really just need to clean up whats left of the few remaining bosses and worlds and then grind for gems proper.  After that its the time trials. Those will likely take as long as the rest of the game has by itself.  Oh well, maybe we can have this cleaned up by the end of the first week in November.  

 

As an aside, going through these games much quicker than I thought I would.  I imagined that FF9 and Mass Effect 3 would take a bit longer than they have.  I may end up adding some more games. This has been fun :).

Since Im making 0 progress at all I would like to switch one of my games. 

I've decided to drop Plague Inc and switch it with Riptide GP Renegade.

 

Also question for @MidnightDragon We have the option to switch up to five games. What about removing a game completely from the list instead off switching it out?

Yes I admit I bit more off than I could chew with my list, and my motivation seems to be at an all time low (again)

Also no updates from my side, lack of motivation is my main reason, and I keep playing games that are not on my list. I'm looking at you Killzone Mercenary with your 10000 Kill trophy and 1000 headshot trophy...

 

Apparently it's a semi-common glitch. I've heard all 5 of her jokes and the trophy didn't pop.

Finally beat Ao no Kiseki and hopefully just have a nightmare run left.  The game needs two playthroughs to plat anyhow because there are some NG+ only enemies so you can't get the trophy for the battle notes in the first run and also can't get the trophy for beating the NG+ special boss obviously.  Otherwise just have some random trophy wrap up, though a couple I'm not sure how to get them.  There is one that has a vague description of "Use the most powerful arts of each element" but doing that didn't make the trophy pop so I've got a list of every art and will just use them all until the trophy pops.  There's also one for beating 16 enemies in one battle.  The max that can show in a battle is 8, so this requires finding a monster that summons other monsters like crazy.  Tried doing this on my previous run and the best I was able to get was 10.  Maybe easy has a limit and nightmare doesn't have that.  That's my hope at least,  Otherwise it's just bonding trophies and 1000 battles (I'm at about 850).  Found out playtime doesn't carry over, so I'm going to have to idle my other file for nearly 50 hours, ugh.  I can easily do that while playing CS3 or while at work though (but have to have my power cable plugged in since my Vita's battery is going out).

 

Got to the final dungeon in Trails of Cold Steel 3.  Got a good number of the collectable trophies, but missed some profile info and I think I missed some treasure chests somewhere.  Just have to finish up the final dungeon and then do a nightmare run while wrapping up any of the trophies I missed.

Well, I have been gone a month and a lot has changed, but i have gotten some time into gaming aswell so thats okay. 

 

I finished CONTROL, that game was amazing but very tedious in the end to platinum. 

 

I have also changed a game to Spyro 3 because I remembered that I have this thing, where my 10th platinum was Spyro 1, my 20th platinum was Spyro 2 and my 3rd will be Spyro 3!

Back with another platinum after a slow month in comparison to the last. I wasn't expecting Steins;Gate to be such a time sink but it was completely worth it. I also bought and installed all of the DLC for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, excited to finally give it a proper try when the time comes. I find it crazy how the DLC is free for NA, but it's never once been on sale in the EU.

 

Got another 8 bridges done for both cars and trucks in Bridge Constructor, I'm finding it difficult to motivate myself to finish it through. I've also started my recursion of Transistor, which has been going okay so far. I'm going to play with 5 limiters to work on a trophy as well as ensure I get as close to level 24 as possible by the end of my second play through.

 

 Steins;Gate (PS3) - This one gets a 10/10 from me, what a phenomenal story. I'd go as far as to say it's the best story out of all of the games I've played throughout the years. I had nearly 45 hours on my save file by the time I was finished and it was worth every second. I won't go into much detail as I wouldn't like to spoil this for anyone but if this is in your backlog from the PS+ freebies definitely consider giving it a go, you won't regret it. Time-travel is the subject matter of this game and it's explored in great detail and even incorporates stories from the real world. It's actually very interesting to say the least. The first half is a little slow paced, with some sections dragging on a little, but it's chalked full of entertaining moments that will have you laughing out loud. The second half is where the game really picks up, and is where the game has some of it's best moments. Moments of pure triumph, moments of utter despair.. the game really becomes a whirlwind of emotions that doesn't stop until it's over. Some of the twists and very unexpected and keep things interesting. You'll grow to love the characters, especially Okabe (at least for me) and become invested in the world they themselves have created. It's not a story I'll forget for a very long time! I was also a big fan of the 'tips' section, it helped greatly with understanding the vernacular and some of the more obscure words (Chuunibyou for example). The soundtrack was great too. The text guide over on playstationtrophies.org is perfect and allows you to complete the game in an time-efficient manner - it would definitely get my recommendation. Could possibly be my GOTY..

I'm actually surprised how much the game catched me.

I finished way quicker than I was expecting it (planned for it to be a 5 day game, 1 chapter each day)

 

I think I made some mistakes in my playthrough, and I feel bad for the Toads to go to the farm

Even though I think I always choose the options that said nothing about them going there.

It worked for Colin, but I just think sending any fable who hasn't done anything bad "away" isn't a good thing to do

I also let Georgie die and killed that fat f*ck Tweedle Dee - maybe not the right decisions.

 

But overall it's a great game and I'm gonna replay it again, this time choosing the more aggressive options 

Sounds weird, because I already said I killed 2 guys, but most of the time I tried not to be the big bad wolf and just be a helpful sheriff

I found Detroit a better experience then Heavy Rain. Both games were fun in my opinion, but Detroit had the better story and better integration of the QTEs. It also got rid of the stupid "hold a button and move stick to move character" thing that was really stupid. What I didn't really like was that they tried to make a black slaves game by replacing "black people" with "androids." It got very distracting at times and kept me from enjoy everything the game had to offer. At lest I understand the appeal of Connor and I kinda want to play Beyond: Two Souls now, despite what people have told me.

 

I had already played Rayman Legends a year or two ago and I wanted to compare the two games, and I have to say that there really isn't a big difference between the two, but I did find Legends a better game then Origins. I am planing to play Legends again since I just bought it for PS4, so I'll tell you if my opinion changes after the replay.

 

I have no idea what I'm going to play. I really haven't been feeling up for playing anything. I'll proobly do my orignal plan and do Arkham Asylum, but I might mix it up with Darksiders II and The Coma.

The reason is that I have an unhealthy obsession with 100% completion, and I have 2 games on my account (Shanky and Overwatch) that I have no motivation to complete. Oh damn man, those damn unhealthy obsessions, I'm too far in to call it in and just start a new account, I'm trying to salvage what's possible and made peace with the fact I will never have a high or 100% completion account. Good luck on your new account!!!

Yep. I have an autistic level of OCD (not joking around). Good thing is I only had around 200 trophies and 3 platinums, so I don't have much to catch up on. Honestly, being able to let go of things like Shanky, Overwatch etc. is a breath of fresh air. Thanks for the good wishes!

Dude I wish you all the best with this. Mine has been ruined over the years by god damn server closures and stupid hacked trophies etc. I would like to try and pull the % back myself though.

Yeah mine has been ruined by server closures and playing mistakes... I did get my completion up this year to almost 70% finishing a lot of old games and buying old DLC for cheap in sales. I've also become more selective with new games and when I play them. I'll be satisfied if I can get to 85% at some point.

Yeah my next aim is 70%. These days I tend to finish the games I start so I don't have as many stacked up incomplete. My intention is to get a PS3 again and go back and finish off some old ones at some point before the PS5 journey begins for me.

Since my last Platinum trophy of October was not on the list, I decided to make a summary of all of the Platinum Trophies I earned on this list in October before I commit to anything else. I know the Backlog is going to last the rest of the year and some into 2020, but I want you to know where I've been:

Earned October 6 while house-sitting for my parents. Very long and boring but I do like the hub worlds and the liveliness of the theme park.

Earned October 7 while house-sitting for my parents. A very short and easy platinum but really goofy and you won't like it if you don't like Mystery Science Theater. Also, a lot of miscellaneous trophies involving hurling yourself from the tower to land somewhere.

Earned October 10 while house-sitting for my parents. It would have taken a lot longer had the game not had this broken glitch that allows you instant upgrades for your weapons very quickly. Before I fought the first boss, I had both Toan and Xiao's weapons to their ultimate level. Still, I do want to try to  buy Dark Cloud 2 and Rogue Galaxy and work on those even though they have annoying min-max animal trophies.

 

And those are all I got done. Blame Pokemon. However, I did most of the list in first month and I should have games that are very long and grindy to fill out the rest of the event time period. Can't get 50 games done in 2 months, can we? I do intend to try to get a platinum or two in November despite Pokemon Sword and Shield coming out on the 15th.

 

Sadly, no Castlevania for Halloween.
