breakXedge
Infinite didn't make me feel I was playing a Bioshock game, that's it. I like it, but it's so different IMO. Loved the darkness in 1&2.

I wouldnt mind if it was a little more like Infinite and less like the others. Infinite is by far the best in the series IMO, in nearly all aspects. To this date, I am yet to play another game with such compelling storyline and jaw dropping ending. Literally, that ending was jaw dropping and one of the best I've seen. I really enjoyed it, much more than 2 in fact. I am excited about a new world and a new Bioshock game. People don't dislike it. The fan base is pretty mucn split 50/50. Half prefer the older ones (1 & 2) while the other half prefer Infinite. I liked the story of Infinite alot more then Bioshock 2 and it was on par with Bioshock 1. Would love to play Bioshock 4 of PS5, would be glorious to play it on 60 FPS.

Joe Dubz
Well now, @ziggypossum... That idea certainly has me intrigued!! Also given the team that is working on it, this could be good ? I imagine no news on a release date yet tho, right??

POEman553
I read about the flipped border zone and I panic immediately. Why? Because I fear it's going to be some battle royale multiplayer bullshit where your character has to chose a side at the start of the game then you do endless matches to get plasmids and someone can become a Big Daddy in the match. I really really really hope I'm wrong and it's a Fallout style single player game in the BioShock universe. But this IS 2K we're talking about. I'm pretty sure it was confirmed already that this is just a new BioShock game, aka BioShock 4. It's not some random, off the wall spin-off no one asked for. I know, but I fear they would add the battle royale mess because they don't think 'a game with a story will sell' and 'look at the money GTAV made' and thinks the new BioShock needs that too. I have no proof, just conjecture.

Flip side world could be a very fun concept when performed well. but I am wondering in what (dystopian) setting it will play. as "flipside" is not particularly a setting and one of my biggest drawn to the bioshock games is their atmosphere / setting honestly. VigilantCrow
I'm curious if the game is going to borrow plotlines from the film Upside Down. Seems almost the same in terms of the picture bullet points; a mirrored but inverted cityscape, creatures like birds are shown to be upside down from the other side's perspective, the class system of wealthy and poor being separated by city etc. Edited November 30, 2021 by VigilantCrow

ziggypossum
Quote BioShock 4’s setting and time period have reportedly leaked THE NEW INSTALMENT IS CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT AT NEW STUDIO CLOUD CHAMBER Details on the in-development fourth BioShock game were shared by journalist Colin Moriarty during a Sacred Symbols video on Friday (currently published for paying Patreon subscribers). According to Moriarty, BioShock 4 will take place during the 1960s in a fictional Antarctic city. This matches with what VGC has been told by our own sources about the game. Narratively the game will be tied to the previous BioShock games, the journalist claimed, and developer Cloud Chamber is targeting a 2022 release. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/bioshock-4s-setting-and-time-period-have-reportedly-leaked https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-12-03-next-bioshocks-setting-and-time-period-detailed-in-new-report Edited December 4, 2021 by ziggypossum EDIT
mcnichoj
For people that saw the end event for the last Fortnite chapter, looks like they ripped off BioShock too now. They can't keep getting away with this.

You already have a city in the clouds why not go all the way! But seriously. I love this series and all the 3 games. They're each incredibly unique, fun, ambitious and different from one another. Infinite is an awesome game with some cool ideas. I love parallel worlds and you could do some interesting things with that concept. So I hope they don't do a full reboot which is a terrible idea. You have already wonderful foundation just continue to built from there and do something entirely new. Take chances and gives us entirely new and immersive world to explore just like Rapture and Columbia. Shouldn't be too difficult ? You guys mean the System Shock series? That was the predecessor to Bioshock. I guess they could remake it. Also, Prey is kind of like a Bioshock in Space. I love the whole series. I have 100%ed the trilogy on PS3, in the collection on PS4, and BS1 a 3rd time as standalone on PS4. I just hope 2K does it justice with the new game and doesn't make it another interactive casino / MTX infested shitshow.

majob
I'm hesitant since Ken Levine is no longer at the helm. Trends show that when a creator leaves a project, the project rarely does well going forward.

I don't wanna be a grump, but I can't think of any game right now where the creator left and the product stayed equally good or got better. Resident Evil perhaps, though that remains debatable, dependig on who you're talking to. I just googled Cory Balrog's involvement with God of War before 2018, and was surprised to learn that he was on the team since the original. I thought he was a new addition to the team for the reboot.🙇

Some might bring up Fallout but the OG Fallout is a completely different beast from Bethesda's Fallout. Their Fallout is basically elder scrolls with guns Edited March 28 by majob
