Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
Final update - or is it?! So I bit the bullet and did another playthrough of Watchdogs:Legion hoping that the glitched trophy would work. I meticulously let every thing play out, even sat through what felt like hours of final credits rolling and not skipping them this time. And finally when the post-credit scene appeared - boom! - it worked. It's a few platinums late, but it now sits at my 188th. My face while waiting for it to work properly and trigger the platinum: Spoiler So we have a little over 20 days left before the challenge and it's really rare for me to be done so soon. So I think i'm actually going to go into overtime mode, dip into my back-up list and get cracking on some low-intensity games! Next up, Maquette. It's good to see a fair few of you finish off your lists or getting really close - keep up the good progress everyone!
Popular Post SicilianDragon92
Disco Elysium (20%) > 32% Demon’s Souls (10%) > 37% > 68% Subnautica (4%) > 100% Wasteland 3 (6%) > 10% Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (8%) > 27% > 84% World of Final Fantasy (17%) > 32% > 65% > 68% GTA: San Andreas (28%) > 45% Tearaway (Vita) 11% Final Fantasy XIV (PS5) (18%) > 27% Maid of Sker (8%) > 53% Control (0%) > 33% > 100% Changes from last update in bold Update 5 This might be my penultimate update as I’m away for a couple of weeks from this Thursday. Going to take my vita and also going to use my second swap to sub in a game I’m intending on finishing while away (Tearaway, which comes in for FF9). 2. Demon’s Souls (10%) > 37% > 68% Finished my first playthrough after uploading a save just before the false king. Going to delete and download the save so I can get the good ending and finish up messing with character tendency for the special rings, forget their names. Seems I might have spoken too soon about the grind though. Unless I’m mistaken it appears a pure bladestone is required to trade for one of the rings so looks like I’ve got hours of killing the same black skelly ahead of me, sigh! 5. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (8%) > 27% > 84% Just now finished up the platinum, not a too bad trophy list really especially compared to some AC games (no online, no multiplayer, yay!) not sure why there was a need for four different collectibles but at least there is a bronze for each. Sort of wish there were fewer miscellaneous ones and a few more for finishing quests. As it stands only the main story quests count and the companion quests are largely pointless. Seems a strange decision. Only annoying trophy was the one for destroying 5000 objects with a carriage. I can handle a grind, but I can’t stand trophies like that when I have no idea what the current count is. Ended up doing laps of Buckingham Palace until it was done (It took me 23, yes I counted!). Dull as all hell. I didn’t own the DLC when I started but a couple of reviews said it was good and so I’m now waiting for it to download as I type. 7. GTA: San Andreas (28%) > 45% Showing its age these days but as I was a teenager in the noughties have a bit of a soft spot for the ps2 GTAs. Have already finished vice city despite it having one of the worst trophies ever conceived and fully intending on finishing this one soon. Hit a bit of a wall a few months back in the second city but this challenge has given me the impetus to go back to it. Almost finished with the main story missions after which I’ll start the cleanup. Have passed the last major hurdle anyway that I remember being the flying missions, and oh boy if there are any current people under 25s who think planes control badly in GTA5 then you are in for an eye opening experience if you fancy seeing what life was like on the PS2! As an example one of the flight school missions is to fly through a ring, do a barrel roll and then fly through another ring at the same height. I swear it took me 20 attempts. Plan is to get AC syndicate to 100%, finish Tearaway while on holiday and then anything else before September is probably a bonus at this point… This has been the first time I’ve done one of these challenges and I’ve really enjoyed it. Thanks so much and you can expect my list for the next one soon (might be slightly less ambitious next time though!).
Popular Post StilRh
Hi guys. Update time. It's been quite the difficult week at work and my health is still up and down, whilst I would normally lose myself in gaming to restore my spirits I've just not felt like it at all this week. I progressed a wee bit through Judgement and dipped my toes into Assassins Creed (I am really, really finding this chapter arduous and not very fun - I've just learned you can turn down the level scaling and remembered you can adjust the difficulty down so I may do that to move things along), I cleared a few challenges in Desperados and also a few missions in Cuphead. I'm not sure what's in store for me this week, I'd like to finish Nier, Aground and Desperados before the challenge ends as well as taking a big bite out of Creed or Judgement... I've noticed I tend to flag towards the end of these challenges but I would like to finish strong when my mood perks up. Popular Post Hisuiryu
1Week 10 Not a huge amount to talk about this week as a lot of my trophies last week weren't a part of this event. As expected I finished up Mass Effect pretty quickly - the amount they streamlined the trophy list compared to the original PS3 release is astounding, and the improvements in-game are very welcome. Overall I played about 20 hours to get the 100% (including ME1 trophies tied to the additional list), and after a ME break over the rest of the week I plan to start ME2 later today or tomorrow That aside, I played a little more Soul Sacrifice this morning... My Life is now high enough to play the Knight of Vengeance chapter so I should get that and maybe another Avalon pact or 2 done this week. I've also ordered the physical edition of Tropico's complete collection so I should have that in the next few days to finish up the DLC, as that's apparently the cheapest way to get a hold of it... Popular Post Heather342
Update 10.5 So it turns out that yes, I can storm through Death March difficulty on NG+ ? I only started my run on Saturday afternoon, and in 3 days I've managed to complete both Velen and Novigrad main and secondary quests and am now about to head to Skellige. I'd say I'm about half way through already. Maybe the plat can be earned by the next weekend update, and I can pull back some of this challenge completion! Popular Post ExHaseo
Finished up Neo The World Ends With You. I decided to power through it to try and make it onto the first achiever boards, and for now at least, I'm on there as 43. Pretty fun overall, but the plat was kind of a nightmare without a guide. The games helps out a lot more than other games tracking completion, which helps a lot, but it's missing some key tracking elements. Like it shows which enemies you've gotten drops from, and even gives the rarity of drops you haven't gotten, but it doesn't say where the enemies are. Even if you've encountered them already. Which created a big headache at the end. There's also just a lot of small missable stuff sprinkled throughout the game. You can go back to any part of the game through a chapter select, but there's no skipping cutscenes, only fast forwarding, which is also pretty annoying. Especially when having to grind out drops from scripted fights. I'm pretty proud that I was able to get it though. I'm hoping the game ends up doing well, so that we get more games in the series. Now to finally do Shenmue. On hard mode that fight is disgusting, I struggled with it a lot. But if you can get past the first phase (which is still pretty difficult), there's a little alcove in the back of the room you can hide in, and neither the skeletons or the Harvester can get you in there. Popular Post Heather342
Update 11 Slightly earlier than usual update from me this week, because today I finished The Witcher 3 and got the plat, as planned for my milestone 50th platinum ? I really enjoyed this game, and I would thoroughly recommend it if you haven't played it yet. The Death March mode I found tricky in a few spots, mainly in encounters towards the end of the game, but nothing was ever too difficult or unfair. Trophy progress The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - 91 -> 100% Remaining games on my challenge list: Dark Pictures Anthology Little Hope - 77% Assassin's Creed Black Flag - 18% (moved to Fall/Winter challenge) Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry - 26% (moved to Fall/Winter challenge) Two Point Hospital - 42% (moved to Fall/Winter challenge) Persona 4 Dancing All Night - 0% As my personal milestones of 3000 trophies and 50th plat slowed down my progress in the summer challenge, I've moved half of my games into the next challenge. I think I should be able to finish up Little Hope, and probably Persona 4 Dancing. Keep up the great work everyone, we've almost made it to the end of the challenge ?

Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
Overtime update 1 - I finished Chicory: A Colourful Tale this week and I have to say I -loved- this game. It took about 20 hours in total and I went into it expecting it to be a simple game with a straightforward storyline based on the marketing. But what I got was a wonderful, surprisingly deep and well written puzzle game that also acted like a fun colouring in book of sorts. All of the characters were brilliantly written and there were some really strong and positive messages about how we live our lives and how we should treat each other. The writing is really a huge call-out here, because it is so well crafted that it takes these little 2-D animal characters and gives them all distinct and unique personalities, they all share little bits about their lives and how they feel and over time, talking to them regularly, you really bond with them in the game. I was trying to figure out what kind of games might be similar in terms of dialogue and the two that sprang to mind were Undertale and Night in the Woods. In terms of Platinum challenge, it's really doable and once you have all of your exploration abilities earned it makes it so much easier to find all the collectibles you need to get the plat. There are also NPC's in the game that will tell you where any missing collectibles are so you don't even really need to use some of the online guides there are knocking around. A great experience overall in my opinion. In other news, i'm scratching The Pathless off the list as I thought it was on sale, so i'll likely wait for that to go down in price before I pick it up. Catch you in the next update folks! Popular Post StilRh
Hi all update time. It's been an odd week for me. Spoiler I saw my GP because my physical health was starting to affect my work and now thanks to extreme work stress, vice versa. With a mix of shame and relief I've been signed off as sick (as in medically authorised leave) for 2 weeks. I'm still a bit fragile but defo on the mend. I think gaming has been a big part of that (though time away from work to work through things with support of family has also extremely beneficial). Initially, I was so agitated that it was all I could do to load up a game before feeling overwhelmed and shutting my console off again but slowly I've build up to multiple, hour long sessions a day. I find that playing games has distracted me when I needed to not think or feel about the stuff I was going through and been a good stress release valve. Some gaming experiences helped me 'unpack' (or re-pack) things in a safe and controlled way and has done wonders for my perspective and outlook on recovery from physically illness and stress in general. Most surprisingly - It's done a lot to shore up my mental resilience, when I first felt overwhelmed by stress even simple decisions and very minor stresses would make me feel awful, but now with some exposure to managable chunks of 'healthy' stress like a challenging game segment or exciting story beat, I feel like I am returning to my old self and I still have a week to go In fits and starts I've made some work on my backlog but some of my gaming time has been spent with other games to give my spirits a lift (Hades is excellent, already my GOTY). This week I'll likely do the same, dabble with games on the side but try and do some of my list. Have a great week! Popular Post Heather342
Update 12 I've been on a bit of a platinum roll this week ? After completing The Witcher, I went back to finish up Fall Guys which I'd started a few months ago. I only had 1 trophy left which was to buy 50 items in the shop, after 2 purchases the trophy and plat popped but I honestly wasn't expecting it to be so soon! Once that was done I went back to finish up Little Hope. I only had a few trophies left, mainly ones around increasing relationships with certain characters. These were really annoying to get right, so ended up following a guide as I couldn't seem to make the right choices by myself. The last trophy for having everyone die at the ruined house was also weird to unlock, the trophy description was a bit misleading. After so many playthroughs of this game, it did start getting a bit tedious. Overall it was better than Man of Medan, but not as good as Until Dawn. Trophy progress: Dark Pictures Anthology Little Hope - 77 -> 100%
Popular Post ExHaseo
Looks like the event is over for me. I went to go play Shenmue and just wasn't feeling it. Then tried Jojo, and really wasn't feeling it. I then went through all the other games I have that are unplayed/unbeaten and nothing really stuck. Until I bought Hades, which I've been playing ever since. I'm going back to school next week and have a lot of stuff to do to prepare this week, so I'm just going to call it for this event. I ended up platting 9 games and boosted my completion by a little over 2% (which is a LOT for my profile), so I'm happy with the progress I made. It's been a lot of fun trophy hunting again, and I hope I'll have some more time in the future to keep on improving my profile. I'd really like to get above 70% completion again one day. But I'm actually going to be taking classes for my major next semester, and taking the maximum number of classes. I'm an art major and art classes tend to take the time of 2-3 classes because of all of the projects and independent practice needed, and I'm taking 2 next semester, and after that I'll be taking 4-5. Having to work on top of all of that means I just wont have much time for anything else for probably the next year or two until I graduate. Thanks to everyone here for being so supportive throughout the event. It really helped me to keep going. Good luck to everyone still working on the event, and to those participating in the next one! Popular Post Hisuiryu
Week 11 With 2 weeks left I'm inching closer to completion... but as I'm away for a week of that it's probably not happening again! I hoped to have ME2 completed by now but got wrapped up on some other things and I'm having a rough time with Insanity which slows it down too. I'll definitely be done by next week, and hopefully complete ME3 as well, but I doubt I'll finish up Soul Sacrifice or the Tropico DLC as well. As for what I have done - I mentioned above ME2 is a little slow going, I've died a lot so far, more than I remember ever doing on previous plays... I put this partially down to playing Vanguard for the first time, I've read that it's a lot of fun and quite powerful, but I'm really not finding it either of these things... I very much regret not sticking with my usual Infiltrator or Adept. Still, I'm powering through, all squad is now recruited except the last one and I've just done the Collector Ship mission, so now it'll be bouncing around to get everyone's loyalty (except Kasumi's who I have, because I'm not playing longer than I need to without the Locust SMG) I also put some more time into Soul Sacrifice. I've come to a conclusion on this - I don't enjoy the gameplay, but the story is compelling and I want to see how the ending goes... and I might as well stick with it for the plat. When I'm working through the story or side missions I'm quite happy to deal with the battles in between to see where it goes, but the Avalon pacts are dull as dull can be. Still, I've cleared all the story missions within Librom now, so I just need to power up enough to defeat Magusar to see the ending which I'm looking forward to. Also the guide on this website is not very helpful which makes things harder - thankfully there are other guides elsewhere. Have finished the one I swapped in (more on that below) so for now I have done all I can do. 5. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (8%) > 27% > 84% > 89% Not much more to report, am around halfway through the jack the ripper dlc, expect to be able to 100% this one before September. 7. GTA: San Andreas (28%) > 45% > 85% Finally started making progress after hitting a severe brick wall around the end of the second city. Just have a few grindy repetitive tasks to do but nothing that should stop me from finishing this before September too. 8. Tearaway (Vita) 11% > 100% If you own a vita, I would definitely recommend Tearaway if you want to be impressed with a singular creative vision. The papercraft world this game takes place in is incredibly well realised and the sound effects of paper folding and crumpling are as satisfying as popping an entire sheet of bubble wrap and then rolling it into a ball, spinning around and immediately landing it in a bin from across the room. In terms of the trophy list, it is not for the most part anything resembling a challenge. You have to complete the three hardest levels without dying, and while I didn’t manage any of them first go none of them took me more than about 5 or 6 attempts. There exists some debate about the difficulty, and I guess that depends on your experience with 3D platforming (and your patience for failure!). I would put it no more than a 3/10. The rest of the list is mostly collectibles and finding the present and papercraft models was fun, but could have done without needing to find every last confetti piece (tearaway’s version of mario coins), replaying a whole level multiple times when you are missing one is frustrating, especially when guides for the game are hard to find. Overall, worth a look for the visuals and sound design alone, story is ok if a bit aimed at children and expect some tedium towards the end when going for 100% That’ll be all from me for a week at least. Will start thinking about my final list for the next one now. Thanks.
