It has cosmic horror, but it is toned down to the point that it's not overly scary. I could call this a walking simulator as that's what I do most of the time in the game, but that's unfair, it's still an enjoyable game for its horror themes. I'm interested in seeing how the story ends, will finish this tomorrow. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana: So I won't swap this game out after all. Cleared the tutorial and got my second party member. But I did force myself to push through and complete all of the story mode in The Skywalker Saga, completing Episodes 5-6 two days ago and Episode 7-9 just now. I also grabbed the stud multipliers for x4 halfway through Episode 7 and x6 after the story(because the studs needs get exponentially more expensive with each iternation and you need data cards to unlock stuff). I have about 256 Kyber Bricks out of 1200 so I'm doing okay. I have also unlocked all of general core upgrades and got many of them to Rank 3 so soon I'll be able to finish those off and then start using Kyber Bricks to upgrade the roles. (I spent a few on some general applications but not much). I’ve finally managed to complete my first game. Yakuza: like a Dragon. I really enjoyed this game a lot. The story goes all over the place but is very engaging. I also really liked the turn based combat, even tho I usually find it hard to get into. It took me a long time to get ready for the True Final Millennium Tower, but yesterday I was finally able to beat it. Especially the leveling up grind took a lot of time. Next up I want to complete Police simulator. This shouldn’t take too long since I’ve made quite some progress already. I also want to play God of War. Have a good week everyone! 1. I was not looking forward to playing this initially but man oh man this game is so good! Basically you have to stealth your way through levels eliminating targets as you go, while picking up different outfits and disguises to gain access to areas. There are so many ways to go at it and kill the targets which makes this a lot of fun. What I did to get all the trophies was play 1 DLC pack per day, already had the first two done a couple years back and went and finished the rest of them this week. I would love to play the other games in the series but they have the previous instalments as added DLC, which would make it really tedious and repetitive. Sadly this game comes without a platinum which is kind of a bummer especially with all the work involved to get everything done. Still it makes for a good 100% Final Fantasy VII Remake - 34% Because I was focusing on Hitman, I haven’t really played FFVIIR at all. I will go back at it for a bit before taking on Splinter Cell! I might also go back to Horizon Zero Dawn and start working on the DLC again. I’m having a blast playing these games and knocking them off my list, it’s very satisfying seeing my overall percentage go up Which is making this a good start for the Attack on Completion 2023 challenge! The little challenges (instincts) were not as hard as I was expecting them to be and I managed to figure out most of them myself. Only a few took a couple tries. I love those games, and the way you describe your experience with the first is damn near the same as my own - put it off forever, then fell in love while seriously going for the completion. And now FF7RM? Thats some fine taste, my friend? I started Dead Space (as great as I remember), then got caught up in more of the online Red Dead Redemption, getting a lot of annoying stuff out of the way. Was on track to make a good deal of progress til my Dual Shock 3's analog sticks started acting up, though... so I'm either performing open controller surgery or hunting down a new one. On the bright side though, this was the perfect excuse to hop over to my PS4 and play God of War III! Almost done with the Greek trilogy, and then it's back to work! But I have to go to bed anyways as there will be a video charity marathon in a few hours and I need the sleep. I did get the trophies for clearing The Slice planets(turns out that Kimiji doesn't have ANYTHING so I just had to 100% the Wookie planet ), clearing a flying level without dying(the level where the Millenium Falcon evades the Empire by flying through an asteroid field) and maxing out all of the upgrades for one class(the C3P0 Protocol bot class). This week not 1, but 2 games have been scratched off the list. Driver: San Francisco (PS3) which I quite enjoyed my time with despite its age. Having tackled the multiplayer trophies pre-shutdown, it made sense to include the game for this event and (try to) completely finish it. There weren't too many dares, challenges, or missions that posed much of a problem, it just took a while to get them all done! Secondly, Sephirothic Stories (PS4) which I would say is a very average JRPG at best.. It wasn't so bad when I finally felt like playing it, but it feels slightly unbalanced. On the one hand, you have a couple of pretty tough boss fights that in most games of a similar nature you'd need to do a few hours of level grinding. On the other, the game gives you the option of continuing the battle(s) fully revived with the damage that has been inflicted so far, for what is a low in-game forfeit. I took advantage of it just a couple of times to essentially get the game done with.. Next week? I may start tackling Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (PS4), though I'm currently undecided as to whether start over with it or try to continue my previous save.. I don't really remember too much of the game from my previous attempt. God of War (PS4), 0%, still waiting to start this one 5. Outlast (PS4), 0% -> 12%, I’m working through the campaign slowly. Playing with family over the holidays helped lol 6. Grim Fandango Remastered (PS4), 32% -> 100%, EDIT: Just completed this one! 7. Claire (PS4), 0% -> 100% 8. Maquette (PS4), 60% -> 100%, I was enthralled by the story at the beginning but was very letdown in the end. This game could have been so much more in terms of story. BUT I thought the gameplay was cool, trophies weren’t bad either 9. Uncharted: Drake's Deception (PS4), 11% -> 13% 10. Super Stardust HD (PS3), 0% -> 30%, This one has been eating up my time. I’m not super great at it, but it’s addicting 11. Hitman (PS4), 0% -> 54%, The gameplay is so much better than the PS3 one… guess 20 years does make a difference! I regret starting this before I finished the HD trilogy because it makes it difficult to go back to the old games. Holidays, work, and games outside of the challenge have kept me from making any major progress recently. I did start Cult of the Lamb, a game I knew I’d enjoy but had yet to play due to glitched trophies.. I didn’t give it enough time because I’ve run into several already and I’m not even halfway through my playthrough. Killing a certain boss (+ not taking damage), unlocking all weapons, and converting 10 followers have all bugged out on me. I plan to continue this playthrough to see if anything else unlocks and then start again on a fresh save. I still adore this game, but it’s definitely one of those times where the trophy hunting experience is diminishing the game’s likability. Popular Post PeachyJacobs Posted January 8, 2023 Popular Post Share Posted January 8, 2023 (edited) Update: Resident Evil - 62% Heavenly Bodies - 60% Elden Ring - 10% Gotham Knights - 8% God of War Ragnarok - 5% Horizon Forbidden West - 4% I've made some solid progress on Resident Evil which has been great. Completed a blind playthrough to start and have since done the knife only and every nook and cranny runs. Slowly chipping away at Heavenly Bodies and Gotham Knights. I'm playing both in co-op so I'm not really in a rush to complete them. Resident Evil is questioning my trophy hunting a little though if I'm honest. Absolutely fantastic game. I really love the puzzles and exploration and inventory management aspects of it. But replaying the same game 7 times for my platinum is not ideal when I have so many other games to play and am a little time poor. The first and second! completion for me on this challenge in medal of honor 2010 and it's sequel warfighter. Medal of honor ? First plat of the year would be for Medal of Honor. Firstly, like I said in my previous update the only thing I needed to do was to level up from level 12 to level 15 for the plat. So I did. I did end up finding a boosting lobby and since boosting is litterally just trade capping the flag I just joined it to get it quickly done. Frankly I like this multiplayer, it reminded me a lot to battlefield 1943. To me with the 3 classes and very limited option it just felt like a fun do it every now and then arcade shooter to me. There is not much dept, it's mainly pewpew. The frostbite engine looks gorgeous though and it really shows in the multiplayer part. In my previous update I also told that I find the single player part to be a bit forgetable. The only thing I liked about it was that it was all kinda connected to each other. there is no cut like: Yo we are in the US and suddenly we find ourselves in Australia or whatever. Next to that I still find it weird that it used 2 different engines, but maybe this game inspired crossfire X which litterally did the same thing. ? I really enjoyed playing through the game in tier 1 mode though. Medal of honor: warfighter ? I wasn't expecting to get this plat so soon, but here we are. In my previous update I told that I have fully done the MP, but I didn't finish the SP yet. So bassically I finished my run, but next to that also the misc trophies, the hardcore run and playing the last mission on tier 1 mode. (So basically from unfinished to fully completed it). in general the MP is fine. I liked it less then medal of honor 2010, because I missed the arcady part of it. However it does look very stunning. Though I mainly did just boring grinding on the MP to get it done. The SP got a lot of flag for what it is in my opinion. Yes, if you purely look at it from a war and pewpew perspective then sure it's waaaaaay worse then medal of honor 2010. That remark from US to Australia, well it does not happen in the game litterally but it feels like that. I don't know what is going on most of the time and therefore I didn't feel invested at all. It does seem like they wanted to cater a bit to the personal implications of war and mainly the lost and burdens of soldiers. But this needed to have a bigger emphasis, because it feels like an after tought more then what it should be. Where 2010 has belly of the beast, warfighter has bump in the night. It is a one man army mission sure, but man the tension on this level with like enemies every corner in a relative claustrophobic space on a boat was amazing. Hardcore mode... well not that hard if you use the "exploit" = save scumming. I did die a few times, but the times that I died was the stupidest shit ever, so I don't regret doing it this way. ? I will get my redemption arc when I am doing wolfenstein 2 on mein leben somewhere in the future. Lastly, I got an unexpected suprise when I heared castle of glass from linkin park in the credits. The clip also mentioned been featured in Medal of honor warfighter as well as a clip that fits nicely with this game. I think it's a good song but bruh, why is this coupled to the flop medal of honor: warfighter and why is it litterally only used in credits, which also is just a boring scroll down one and after the song end while the credits are still going they just use there own in-game music. Like why even bother ? Babylon's fall I am starting to reach the end of the main story and with that I can do a lot more stuff, however until then I am still button mashing til I get carpal tunnel syndrome. Using a hammer at 1 side slot and a sword as 1 main slot has provided me no issues with the enemies yet. Switch I'll use 1 of my switches since I will aim to finish up dreadnought before February is over (it's shutdown is marked at 19th of March and I am already a good way into the 1000 matches completed). Also getting the 6 games done in 2 months is quite heavy (for me) especially if I combine it with dreadnought. Mostly I will need to play / boost for all those misc trophies still, but I am sure I will get it done. Dreadnought is currently at a 45% completion, so with that same logic of 33%-50%, I will offer up the Far Cry 2 slot.
