Update #3. I haven’t had many chances to actually sit down and play. Christmas is a time of organising and running around getting chores done for me. It’s also my oldest’s 6th birthday tomorrow so I’ve been trying to get ready for that too. I went to my parents for Christmas and while it was nice to see everyone, I was very jealous of my little nephews who brought their Xbox with them to play in a quiet room. I hope everyone else had a nice holiday rest though

The only game I managed to play was Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star. I was a big fan of the original when it first came out in PC and always meant to get around to this one. It was a bit of a disappointment though, the zany storylines were still there, but the choices were gone making it even more of a vn than the first one.

 

I did enjoy the radio sessions though which had fan questions being answered by the different characters and added a lot of backstory to the main pigeons. It was also nice and Christmassy, but I’m looking forward to getting back to Miles Morales and Titanfall 2 this week

Not much progress on the backlog challenge this week but I did make a little bit of progress on SR3 - it's kind of weird to go back to this one after having played 4 a couple of years back, part of me misses the crazy superpower stuff and I think after finishing RDR1 I just wasn't feeling SR3 at the time, started to get back into it now though so hoping to make some progress on that + the new GoW which I got for Christmas yesterday, so I expect these games will take my attention for a bit. I'm loving the new GoW so far.

Also planning to revisit Resi 4 this week and next, and probably clean up Erica as well so we'll see!

Focused more on some other games in my backlog last week like getting the 100% done in Dead Island on PS3, thought I might as well after having knocked out a lot of the trophies with a boosting group I set up. It was a pretty fun and chill game to go back to. Managed to get the 100% for Resi 5 as well as just had a little bit of boosting to do, big thanks to my guy @rjkclarke for helping me boost these in half the time.

Just noticed I forgot to delete the holdover paragraph in my last update, since I usually copy paste them so I don't have to reformat my backlog list. D'oh!

 

Anyway, that was quick! With a little adjusting - namely moving closer to my TV, which I'd been avoiding since my room is small and cluttered so if I get too close standing up I'll punch random shit, but it seems fine for sitting down - I was able to reduce the tracking jitters which seem to have been the cause of my VR nausea spike. Overall a gorgeous (by PSVR's standards, anyway), atmospheric puzzle game with a solid story. A bit simplistic at times, but it was fairly long for a VR game and IMO would be a great introductory title to VR for someone.

 

Anyway, what next? Probably going to pick either Stray, Manifold Garden, or Powerslave Exhumed back up. Along Together's also on my short list of PSVR games to play, so I'll probably get to it next month.

Yes, it's a minor update, but I finally got a monster transformation to Level 76 and evolved it to its final form. So all I have left are Finny Frenzy(my fish STILL cannot win Master Finny Frenzy despite having over seventy in Tenacity ) and the medal challenges, and I am sure that I will win Finny Frenzy Master Class long before I get those last few challenges. I still have two more easy fishing challenges in Rainbow Butterfly Wood and... the item only challenges in Mt Gundor and Zelmite Mines.

 

But those are the only two things I have left to do and I have faith that I can do this is I just spam the infinite lure glitch to get rich.

i like gta3 older version thats my next platinum for 15th platinum i unlocked this year only 2 platinum its low but the dream team trophie took most of the time and since i dident play anything else and with persona 5 royal that is also long game it cost me very long to finish after 2 times restart with persona 5 royal now i do more games not just 1 game at a time anymore but 2 ore 3 games now since playing 1 game can sometimes boring i do trophie hunting since since almost a the end of this year i continue with trophie hunting for me is 1 event enough i do 1 event this one with my new list i creat that are games that are reach able for to do in time for winter backlog challenge i got 1 question though if a game is not done in time for winter backlog challenge and i add also dark souls 1 remastered5% to the list i like this event its good that there are events because with the communitys gone on ps4 with the releas of ps5 it was weird without the communitys on ps4 its now my second year on this site and its fun

First game done:

 

Biomutant: I wanted to play this game before and I would probably play it again if it was the same situation but in the end the game was just ok. Beating the World Eaters and cleaning up the map took a little bit longer than I thought. The end.

 

 

Second game done:

 

Skylanders: It's the game I didn't know I wanted. Well, I got all other Skylanders games (including the next in line: Imaginators) and I thought why miss out on this one. Thanks to the Figure and Vehicle guide here on the site I looked into how much it would cost to get into this game. Not much, about $30-40 including the game. Anyway, it's a fun game (like the others in the series) but not the easiest, especially on Nightmare difficulty. I mean it all comes down to how many characters you can throw at the game. Thankfully I have plenty of those and I probably wasted 30 of them on the last level (5 chapters, 2 bosses). One more Skylanders game left for sometime in the future. To be honest, I'm going to be a sad, sad panda when I finish that up cause it will mean there will be no more.  

 

 

Started on:

 

Farming Sim: Just got into it on Xmas. I'm in the middle of buying/upgrading my equipment and fields which is the fun part. Then comes the grind for money/trophies which will get a little boring by the end but I've played enough of these games to know what to expect. I will play this game every now and then when I need something chill.

 

 

Next up:

 

F1 22: I haven't played this game since before my vacation in August. I knocked out the online portion back then and now it's time for the single-player stuff. I have to make this my next plat. Probably won't happen till next year.

 

Tales of Symphonia: Planning to jump back in on the weekend and see where I'm at in the game (I finished my first run, but I need to see about the titles). That also means filling out the spreadsheet I got from KazaneHime. Thanks again!

Update time - two more games chalked off.

 

Vanguard was a very average entry in the series. Multiplayer was horrendous, full of campers and horrible maps that usually boiled down to one or two chokepoints which made every match feel the same. Zombies was a bit strange compared to the rest of the series. I did everything solo which was a bit boring, but at least the trophies were easy for a change. Campaign was your standard CoD campaign - nothing particularly memorable but mildly entertaining for the ~10 hours that it took to run through it.

 

Managed to get Blacklist done on Christmas day! The four remaining missions only took us a couple of hours. I really enjoyed this game, glad I took a chance on it and got the multiplayer trophies out of the way before they shut down the servers.

 

My plan now is to return to Dead Space 2 and hopefully knock out most of the trophies before the new year!

I'm going to have to take a break from R&C. I followed a guide for Death by Disco and the trophy still didn't pop and I can't deal with going through a 4th playthrough.

 

In other news I have started going through Yakuza 0. Haven't gotten too far but have been working on a lot of the substories. I still think Yakuza 0 is one of my favorite games of all time.

So now I'm reaching the nadir of my initial list. I just have nine more annoying medal challenges to do in the Zelmite Mines and Finny Frenzy master class, but my fish is now reaching 80 in all speed stats so she should pull through with the right tank.

 

With the cusp of my completion of the list, and realizing that I will probably be done with the list before the month ends and have two months of downtime, it's time for the wicked to get back to work and add five more games to the list so I have stuff to do for the rest of the event.

So it's finally done! (Don't worry, I made sure not to submit this post until I actually popped the platinum. This post was not posted for a while as I had to actually WAIT for the Finny Frenzy contest to start, which took a while took for-freaking-ever! I don't like how the two events ten days of game time to come up.)

 

I honestly wish I could be more excited, but all I can say is "I did it again, I got the ultra rare Dark Cloud 2 platinum trophy."

 

Clearing Medalhead was not easy, the item only challenges were a nightmare and I had to farm one of the Zelmite Mines stages to steal elemental stones(which are the only things that can kill the Tiamat dragons in the final Item Only challenge level, and there are several Iron Ghost cannons that can fire cannonballs that can void the challenge if they explode in an enemy's face ) but I got them all... and found that I missed an Item Only challenge in Balance Valley. Luckily it was a very easy stage so I was able to clear it and get the trophy since I had been smart to get all the medals in Moon Flower Palace instead of missing one, but I did have a backup save in case I had forgotten a challenge there. Luckily, I did not.

 

The last trophy I got was Finny Frenzy First for winning the Master Rank race in Finny Frenzy and that was very annoying. I had to raise my fish to have 90 in the stats that mattered because all of the opponents have 80 in all stats. Luckily Finny Frenzy rotates with the fishing contest so I had plenty of time to feed my fish all the worms it needed to be super fast. After trying the third tank(Come out Fighting), I cinched the win and the platinum!

 

So with that, the platinum is mine and my initial list was finished before New Years' Eve, giving me several days to rest and get ready for the expanded list. Another three Artifex Mundi games(which are being used in the Kaledioscope challenge under various shades of green and purple ), a game from my list in the Kill Your Completion event last month(another LEGO game but it is very big and has 1600 collectibles as it covers all nine Star Wars movies; I managed to clear the first trilogy during the Kill Your Completion event so I only have six more stories to do) and a game I put on my Vita in hopes of it being a good exercise game. It wasn't so I am cross-saving and transferring it to my PS5 which has the game installed on it.

I would recommend dropping the difficulty down for your initial playthrough. When I did it I started on normal but so many encounters just took forever trying to ping shots on enemies then hiding for ages till they moved away. It got super tedious really quick. Once you finish the game you get access to the Shield Weaver armour, which is the best in the game. The Frozen Wilds DLC also has some really powerful weapons, and the Banuk Chieftain armour has self healing which is incredibly helpful for the ultra hard mode. Ultra hard isn't too bad once you have all this, and you can actually stealth past many of the encounters quite easily. Took me about 8 hours to run the story missions. You got this! ?

Time for my 2nd update!
First off I hope everyone had a good Christmas and enjoyed their holidays! 
It seems like this year is turning out to be one of the least productive ones for me trophywise, although I did get some stuff done that’s not part of this challenge but have been on my list forever. Due to my old PS4 dying on me a couple years back I lost a lot of savefiles/progress. One of them being my completed run of Horizon Zero Dawn. I got the plat but was never able to do new game+ because of that. I’ve ran through the campaign and now it’s ready to go again. Besides that I managed to get the platinum for Rainbow Six Siege(279) after six long years, ignoring it most of those years. I “only” had 4 trophies left and managed to get it done!

 

MediEvil 18% > 100%

When I finally decided it was time to get another game done, I couldn’t really choose what to go for first. It was a close call between Splinter Cell Blacklist and MediEvil. In the end an empty PS3 controller made the decision for me.

I already knew I was not the biggest fan of this game, and knowing I’d have to do a second (almost) mandatory playthrough for the lost souls kind of annoyed me…

But after having done the initial run, I kind of enjoyed the second one with all the strong weapons. The game itself looks nice for a remake, the gameplay and controls are a bit annoying and clunky at times (like the original) but the music and great voice acting kind of made up for that  I’m happy to say platinum 280 is done!!

 

What’s next?

Either Splinter Cell Blacklist or We Happy Few. Don’t really know yet. My PS3 controller is charged now so that’s not an excuse anymore.

Time for a well deserved little break first!

Hey loves.

TYhis week I've not played too much on my list due to work being especially exhausting. I've nearly platinumed The Callisto Protocol, having to get all the collectables feels like a major drag so I've taken my time with this. I'm enjoying/loathing the my second playthrough in parts. I should finish this on my days off around the New Year. Nom Nom Galaxy continues to go smoothly. I've finished all the levels, just some a trophy for all medals and the online co-op are needed now. Slay the Spire runs are going well. I'm consistently getting to the heart but I've yet to beat it - soon I hope

Off list I've played Evil Genius 2 as I loved the first one on PC and it's part of the PS Now range. I may go for the platinum depending on availability of guides and how grindy it will be to do everything.
