After 2 months of playing Crash 4 and 8 months of doing this challenge, I have completed the 1-10 Difficulty Challenge!!

 

While Crash 4 may not be the rarest platinum anymore, this was by far my hardest platinum I've ever gotten and one of my proudest. Thanks @Rebourne07 for putting on this challenge, I had a great time playing games that I'm not sure if I would have ever platinumed without some motivation from this challenge!

Another update:

 

9/10: King of Fighters XIII 

 

Came back to get this one done after finishing the online a few years ago. The story was kind of whatever, as it’s kind of expected with almost every other fighting game out there…except for Injustice’s surprisingly, I actually enjoyed that one lol. The trials and probably completing Time Attack with 30 characters are the main hurdles for the plat. Fortunately, in Time Attack I came across this weird exploit with characters that have long range projectile abilities (and the majority of them do), where you create some neutral spacing between you and the opponent, then you walk forward a few steps and then back a few steps then perform the projectile special move and this would hit them successfully about 80% of the time, and I would just repeat this until their defeated lol. The trials were fairly challenging, but fun. Luckily, only 200 out of the 360 (DLC characters included) are required for the plat, though I could just imagine a large drop in the plat rarity percentage if an amount as small as 20 or 30 more trials were added to the already 200, and where you may be running out of “easier” trials to do. Note that KoFXIII have been known to have some of the hardest trials (mainly each character’s last few) for awhile now and still holds true today. A great fighting game with some of the most awesome designed characters I’ve seen.

Done my 9/10 on the second list. It's amazing to see how simple game design can still have so many layers to it and be incredibly straightforward and fun and also dangerously addictive to play. Downwell probably has one of the most fun straightforward trophy lists I have ever completed with a few interesting challenges sprinkled inbetween. Beating it on hard was something else too, understandably it is a ultra rare platinum because of that. A high thumbs up recommendation from here, 10/10 game weirdly enough since it only a few bucks on ps store. Quite the steal.

 

On another note, I probably should go finish my first list with Undertale soon, hopefully can get it done before Armored Core VI comes out.

A quick update of my second list. 5/10 Final Fantasy VII Remake Platinum is complete.

It's a strange one because I'm not sure if I enjoyed it or not

 

Having never played an FF games previously the story went a little comprehensible at the end.

I did enjoy the normal play-through, characters and mechanics, But, the bosses on Hard Mode were a bit of a chore.

And, don't get me started on the Ultimate Weapon trophy - even with guides I nearly gave up after 7 hours on Bahamut. 

 

I prefer turn-based combat in RPG's and switching character mid-combat and struggling with the AI doing daft stuff nearly drove me to despair.

Personally I would put this higher than a 5/10 but maybe that's just me.

Still I am likely to play the next one if only to see if the story explains itself later on.

Quick update, I have finished 2 more games from my list and I'm onto Outlast next! The Last Guardian was actually pretty nice with a solid story + mechanics but the controls are so clunky it made it a nightmare to get it all done. Sonic is just your basic Mario Kart but with Sonic characters, still a fun racing game, most of the trophies popped out naturally while I was playing with my friend rather than having to grind them, so a 6/10 feels kind of a stretch but I'll take it lol

I've been coasting along most of the year just doing platinums in the 3-6 difficulty range. I haven't played anything difficult since Devil May Cry 5 in February, but I still want to finish this challenge. I've also changed my list around to include some URs, I don't care about any of the badges but I might as well use the URs on my list if I can.

It has been a little while since my last update. I'm participating in a Pokemon Crystal full item randomizer tournament, so I've been spending some time practicing for that. But in the meantime I have managed to reach Bronze tier on my 3rd list with completions of Bayonetta and Split/Second, both games I have played before on the Xbox 360. Huge shoutouts to @Destructor-8 who helped boost Split/Second's online trophies with me.

@Rebourne07 I just have a quick question.  For the badge - Mad Skillz - Platinum a Fighting or Racing game rated 8/10 or higher .

 

Does this mean that the Genre can only be either "Racing" or "Fighting"?

 

Or would the Genre "Hack and slash/Beat 'em up" also qualify for the badge as a fighting game?

Hi again @Rebourne07, Thanks for the clarification. I do have another query now tho.  So I submitted my first list earlier in the year which included my games from 1-8/10 with my 8/10 being Asterix & Obelix XXL Romeastered on PS4. I have since completed Vanquish for my 9/10 (tho not submitted it yet) and only need to finish up a 10/10 however i have also been working on some other lists in the background as well being that they all contain games that have a Spooky badge on them so i would not be finishing any of them until October. Looking at where i could perhaps earn the Repeat Offender badge i thought i might go for Asterix & Obelix XXL again for the PS5 stack so that i could earn that badge and i noticed that it also carries the Fighting Genre so would qualify for the Mad Skillz as well. I wondered why then i did not put down the Mad Skillz badge on my first list when i completed the PS4 version and this is where the query comes from. So it seems that since earlier in the year when i completed and submitted the PS4 stack the Guide Writer has now changed the Guide difficulty to a 7/10 instead of an 8/10. Also the PS5 stack has had "Fighting" added to the Genre which it did not have before however the PS4 stack does not have this on its Genre although the games are identical.  So being that the Guide writer has now downgraded the difficulty does that mean that my currently submitted list which is in the Silver Tier does not now qualify and i will need to replace it with a different 8/10 game instead?  If i am allowed to keep it as an 8/10 however, being that fighting has now also been added as a Genre would it now count for Mad Skillz as well?  I have added links below which shows the Guide was updated on the 25th June 2023 along with the link that now shows it as a fighting game.

Since Asterix & Obelix XXL was an 8/10 before, you can use both the PS4 and PS5 versions as 8/10 regardless of when you do them. And since at least one version has Fighting on it, I'll add the Mad Skillz badge to your first list and again to your second listif you end up doing the PS5 version.

Many Thanks,  I will post my updated list soon as i already Finished Vanquish for a 9/10 and am looking to do my 10/10 soon, I was hanging on with the update as i was trying to decide if i wanted to use Vanquish as a 10/10 on another list (which was my initial plan) as i was going to do The Witness as the 9/10 on my first list however i thought that by putting Vanquish on the first list that it would also get me the Masochist Badge as well as and tho i was originally going to try for that on a different list i may not get around to completing that one now so want to grab as many badges on the 1st list as i can.

Mortal Kombat 1 is a 3/10. This is a "preliminary rating" so if it changes then you can still use it as a 3/10 but also whatever he changes it to once the 5 million score tower trophy is figured out.
