Hello, I'm back again. I know most people are wondering who is this guy and why doesn't he understand the challenge rules. I haven't given up on my absurd challenge and haven't been idle in the last four months. I returned from hell with the platinum trophy for Diablo 2! Now I have to sprint to get through the last three games before the end of the year. Wish me sanity!

I got the penultimate update for my list. I finally completed Crash 4, which I started 2 years ago, and then it has been sitting on my shelf because I knew it would be so difficult. I am pretty proud of myself for completing this only a little over a month after my last update with Devil May Cry. Also it gives me hope that I can definitely finish this challenge. I do think this makes me eligible for the "Above and Beyond" badge (https://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/topic/319304-estimated-time-to-platinum/) and also puts me on the gold tier!

My 9/10 is currently between Divinity Original Sin and Lies of P, having a hard time choosing. Also so many good games coming out in the next months, so not sure I'm ready to commit to a platinum that's too long. I'm so close to completing the list so I will be going for it of course. I guess the easy and boring choice would be to auto pop Crash 4 on PS5 and put on 9/10 as well, but I really don't want to do that, I feel like it's much against the challenge for myself.

In terms of badges, this new list has a few so far: 

• Shameless – (Auto-pop 3 or more games on your list) – None of these are actually autopops, but the rules specify you can have two games with official completions times of 5 hours or less and one game with 10 hours or less. By those measures: One Night Stand (1 hour estimate), What Remains of Edith Finch (2 hours) and Ravenous Devils (6 hours) fit that criteria
• 'Murica  – (Platinum a game set anywhere in the United States in July) – 60 Seconds! Reatomized is set in the United States and I got the platinum on July 30th
• Rare Genre – (Platinum a game in the 4x, Business, Pinball or RTS genres) – I recently saw that Ravenous Devils is listed as a Business game, which is awesome as it's a really fun, short game. Definitely advise people adding this to their lists for October so they can knock out Rare Genre and Spooky badge (it's also a horror game)
• Rare Letter – (Platinum a game starting with J,O,Q,X,Y or Z) – Just spotted that One Night Stand fits this category.

 

Now, I'm not entirely sure if I'll be able to finish a second list, especially as it's mostly difficult games left. But hey ho, it's worth a shot ha. 

 

Edit: I've just noticed that Circus Electrique seems to have two difficulty ratings on the link I've posted – 5, and 5.5 ... obviously, I've gone with the 5.5 (rounded up to 6), but let me know @Rebourne07 if that's a bit dodgy.

I really enjoyed Solar Ash. I feel like there aren't a lot of games where the movement is the main focus, and it works well in this one. I know a lot of people were put off by it because of its short length and relatively high cost, but I enjoyed it enough that I felt it was worth it.

Thanks for letting me know! I dont mind higher prices if a game present a unqiue and enjoyable gameplay and story. I will take a look into it for sure then 😉

Update:

 

1/10: She Sees Red

 

A cool, short FMV thriller to sit back and watch with. The gameplay is almost non-existent as the only thing you’ll be doing is pointing the stick towards the direction of your choice and confirming with X. An ezpz that makes a great palette cleanser after previously doing a long and/or difficult game. Oh and if you like a nice amount of gore added to the action then this game will satisfy that too lol.

 

10/10: Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition (NA)

 

I originally had a different game in mind for my 10 spot, but since we’re down to the last quarter of the year and looking at the games that I may play next and their completion times, I may not get to all of them so I figure it’s best to fill in whatever I can. After sitting at 91% for a few years now  I finally got a turbo controller to finish off my last trophy needed ( The Hero We Deserve) for the platinum. Of all the trophies with mindless grinds I’ve done this may be the grindiest one, because of the ridiculous amount of xp needed to reach level 100, along with the slow rate of gain that it is, especially if you aren’t taking advantage of any xp multipliers. Thanks to the Hori FPS, it pretty much made the grind painless…and honestly, a turbo controller is probably one of the best investments you can make in the hobby if you find yourself often coming across trophies that require any amount of mindless grind. Starting from when using the Hori, it took about 20+ hours afk and most of it was while I was sleeping, the rest when I had to be somewhere else…it just benefits your time management so well. Anyways, I’ve enjoyed the game overall…the superheroes and supervillains you get to play as, the fun mini-game-like features in Star Labs, the challenge of “The Max” and “Impossible!” with the help of exploits from Doomsday and Solomon Grundy and the enjoyable story mode.

I finished my fourth list now in October! Inscryption is a really unique game and i had my fun with it. If you are into card games i would recommend it. Devil May Cry 5 let my fingers burn but I was able to finish it. I guess i was good prepared since i finish a lot of games where you werent allowed to take damage for a trophy so the S Ranks were managable for me. With thr last games completed i have now completed some more badges.

Sup guys. I'm doing some early brainstorming for next years challenge. I'll be swapping out several of this year's badges for new ones next year and I'm hoping to have some more variety and challenge in the badges. Any ideas posted here would be welcome, though please don't be offended if your badge doesn't make it in. I gotta keep the number low enough to not be overwhelming and have a lot of variables to consider.

 

Some other major changes I'm considering, but haven't decided on yet:

 

• Easy and Hard mode lists. 
  • Easy mode would be a list of 10 games that range from 3-6 in difficulty. Minimum 1 of each difficulty. This would open up the challenge to players that can't or don't want to go hardcore. These lists would be ineligible for any other badges so they'd show on the leaderboards as easy lists, but still allow people to participate and even hardcore players could put all the new AAA games that come out on a list since most of us feel the frustration of having too many 3's out there and only one 3/10 slot per list. 
  • Hard mode is inspired by @D-E-U-S-X's insane all 10s challenge and would be a list of 10 games that range from 7-10 difficulty. Minimum 1 of each difficulty. These would still be eligible for other badges. 
• Badges only earned on platinum tier lists. 
  • This one is for me. It's a lot of work to keep this forum updated and a lot of confusion around badges comes from me not being able to tell the difference in what badges are new from each tier level up. Keeping badges limited to platinum tier lists will greatly reduce the amount of time and confusion I experience in maintaining the forum.
• Addition of 100% games. 
  • @DrBloodmoney and some others have advocated for allowing 100% games to count towards lists. I think we'll start that next year. Thoughts?

Any other sweeping changes anyone wants to propose? Again not every idea will be accepted or implemented, but the more ideas the better. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

@Rebourne07 Sounds Solid for me from the first read. I guess it makes sense to give away some badges only for platinum Tiers to be on the fair side and that Not everyone is just doing the easier games.

 

Not sure if you want to Do this but i would find it kind of interesting if you include a Hall of fame for the event. Who got the most badges in one list / in total for a year / most lists completed / won each year. (Not sure if you even can Do this from the past Events or if this kind of hard for all the years you did the event)

 

I just started with the event this year so these side facts would really interest me from the last years to make my own Personal goals for the event as well. For me i wanted to see how many lists i can complete in one year as my Personal challenge. I dont know since when the event is already going from the past but some of those facts would be nice to read

 

But I can totally understand if this is some kind of hassle hassleand will be voted down because of the workload haha

Hall of Fame sounds like a great idea. I'll have to go over the past years results but I'll do that when I have some time.

Imo 100% games would be nice but it is your event so do what you think is best
