Platinum Difficulty Challenge 2023

I will join as it would give me a reason to actually play my games and will update my list during updates! 

 

Below are some of the games completed within 2023, but if they need to be new games, then let me know and I will do a completely new one!

Finally and waaaay later than i'd hoped i finished Call of Duty Ghosts PS3 for my 4th spot on the list. I had planned to use this game in July for the Murica badge but it is the hardest game i have finished this year. The campaign was easy but quite an entertaining show through some war between US Special Forces and Members of a South American Drug Cartel (all fiction of course). I know i'm in the minority but i do play CoD just for the story i'll buy them cheap to compensate that

 

The Difficulty stems from the Extinction Mode in which i alone or up with max. 3 others fight against AI controlled aliens and destroy their nests. The two hardest trophies are to complete 12 randomly selected challenges and pick up 40 items scattered around the map. I tried several times to finish a mission alone and get both trophies but it was impossible. I joined dozens of people in the last 2 months to play together but until today i never succeded.

 

I've started Puppeteer earlier this week and enjoyed it so far. My PS3 will be very busy in the next weeks as i'm behind schedule. My doubts to complete 4 lists this year increase every day but list 3 contains only one other game i'm unsure if i can complete it - that's Mirror's Edge. I'd be very happy about it (way more than CoD). We'll see....

Haha, uh, I'd say since there's no pre-established rule against how old the game has to be, then yeah! Just include a screenshot of the game's UR rarity in your post when you platinum it. I'll probably make a rule the game has to be out 3 months or something next year, but for now yeah that's cool ?

Finished some more games for my list. Final Fantasy 2 is done which was a big step in regards to storytelling in comparison to Final Fantasy. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredders Revenge was a blast with friends. They really caught the Charme of the old games and did a great job with the game.

Got a double bill going here, two plats back-to-back:

 

First was Lonely Mountains: Downhill, a lovely little surprise of a biking game, very relaxing gameplay biking down beautifully designed mountains with a few meaty challenges sprinkled inbetween. The game even hands out three free dlc's on top of the base game. A positive recommend from here, might buy the last dlc when it goes on sale.

 

Now for a contender for game of the played year and possibly part of the all time favorites: Rain World. My god, what a fucking masterpiece that I'll never recommend because of its uniqueness and high barrier to entry. This game is gonna sit on the top end of games I'll never forget, and I'm getting the dlc too!

Finally got an update for my list. Completed Devil May Cry after so many years - almost 5 years. For me this game has intimidated me for so long, because of the multiple runs on higher difficulties, Dante Must Die mostly. It sounds insane. And it isn't easy obviously, but it definitely helps saving items for the last run. Glad I finally completed it. I do like the game but I think it will be a while before I move on to the second game

Next game completed even though i'm a big fan of Dragon Ball Anime i wasn't hyped when Dragon Ball FighterZ as a videogame adaption was announced. It's your typical 2D Beat em up with Dragon Ball design. But when the game was added to PS+ Extras earlier this year i decided it's time to play it for this event the story is actually quite nice and is shown from three different perspectives. The 2nd part was the best as the villains Frieza and Cell are the main people appearing. The devs of the game put the humor from the characters rather well inside.
