CodGodFlame
I followed a friend's recommendation to keep Stellar Blade at version 1.0 instead of 1.02 and everything was fine until I turned off my PS5 to go eat now every time I try to start the game it says I need to download an update to play. the only way I was able to bypass this was to turn off the internet delete the game reinstall then turn it back on. do I have to do this every time I swap games? or is it because I have auto-updates on? Is it normal to have to do this? I'm so confused. Edited April 28 by CodGodFlame i posted it for the wrong game i dont know how to change it.

zizimonster
Turn off auto-updates for games and disconnect the PS5 from the internet by unticking the box somewhere in the PS5 settings.
Popular Post HONOKAPARA
The only reason to keep it at 1.0 is if you want the unchanged Holiday Bunny suit. (I think that's the only one that was changed?) Also the "Hard R" graffiti, lol. Personally, I'd rather have the improved input lag and NG+ that comes with the patch... 12

Grunking1212
So you sadly have to delete and reinstall the game if you turn your internet on and click on the game for whatever reason. Good news is the game doesn’t take to long to install.

The checkered red outfit is butt ugly, lazily censored. They just put an ugly bra under it. Meanwhile we can oggle naked "breasts" of Abby from Part 2 just fine, as she is railed from behind, but cleavage oh no Edited April 29 by Elvick_ 10 9
Popular Post BlindMango
Sounds like the recent Spider Man 2 update where they forced everyone to update. Basically the way it works is if you have the game installed on your console, Sony's servers send instructions to your console to not launch the game while it's on that version. The workaround is to be offline the whole time so the console cannot get that instruction, which includes not being in rest mode but having the console shut down. Like others said, if you have the physical copy of Stellar Blade and it is forcing you to update, then you probably have to uninstall the game, disconnect from the internet through the console's settings menu, then reinstall the game while not online. Then you have to be fully offline for the entire time you want to play the game on version 1.00 because whenever you reconnect the console online it will get instructions again to block you from launching the game after about a minute or two. I can see the reason Sony did this for Spider Man 2 because maybe they didn't want people tinkering with the dev menu in the game, but blocking you being able to play because of some graffiti and shirts? That's pretty wild... If only Sony put as much focus on the daily shovelware taking over their store as they did with this stuff Edited April 29 by BlindMango

The altruistic concern of getting treated like an American as your government would do to Americans is appreciated but not necessary. Americans are used to taking Ls from their government when it comes to civil and consumers rights. Us Australians are used to a better state of living. There won't be laughing because the ACCC has issued fines to Sony on similar matters in the past years. 10 minutes ago, MidnightDragon said: Is there no option to disable updates like on PS4? There is. Just keep PS5 offline, turn off automatic updates. Only go online while you're already in the application. Never be online while in rest mode. You can do a fresh install too from disc. 5
Popular Post Danyy___85
It's not just one outfit but like 7 or 8 of them... I will do 2 playthroughs and by that i will do my first one blind with the version 1.0. Then when i had my fun with it will toggle the update and will surelly play the updated version for a fresh new playthrough. I will get my physical copy today! This censorphip situation also is making sony handing out refunds like they did for Cyberpunk wich is wild! I hope they learn their lesson to stop censoring 18+ and Mature games. Even if it is something like covering up EVE more. But honestly Sony did worse before. But they deserve some backlash for this nontheless. I will still enjoy the heck out of Stellar Blade. 4

Imagine if this became standard fair for all games and how patches work for physical copies. This is genuinely an awful thing. So many games have broken trophies after patches, or broken features, or are made worse in many ways after they get patches and the best (and sometimes only way) to get things is if you are able to downgrade the version. Even if you have auto-updating games off it still downloads it so your settings don't mean anything. Frankly, they should let us choose which patches we want to install instead of forcing the newest one on us now. It may be more convenient overall, but it causes tons of problems too.

Popular Post Kittens Are Awesome
I'm a bit surprised a lot of people are missing the point here. It's not about skin, or some stupid reference that doesn't apply in Korea, that only a broken mind sees. If you are ok with Stellar Blade being censored, who's to say something you care about won't be censored next time? What if the power shift comes, and since you were already ok with censoring stuff, now everything you care about is black-boxed and removed? Most people only think as far as they can see. They aren't looking at how standards and practices used to remove something they dislike today can be used to remove something they like tomorrow. In any case, the devs and Sony knew sales would be gained from announcing publicly that Stellar Blade would be released uncensored, so they did so. Launch day came and that announcement turned out to be a lie. That's false advertising, which is illegal in the USA. Since Sony has a corporate presence in the USA, they can be held legally liable. I'm sure this will end up as a class action lawsuit one day. Edited April 30 by Kittens Are Awesome 19
