Popular Post RadiantFlamberge
Rolling Gunner (PS4) #25 You are the last star of hope Got all trophies (3.7% ultra rare, 17.86% rare) Difficulty 6/10 Enjoyment 10/10 This is a good bullet hell shmup with a medal score system and the Rolling Gunner weapon system (the Over Power DLC, which is included, allows you to play RG as a dual stick shooter). The RG is a satellite that can be positioned around your ship to fire at different angles. When the energy gauge reaches 1000, you can go into a powered up mode. It's best if you have a lot of enemy bullets on screen before starting this, so they turn into medals. During this, medals you collect will build up a red limiter release gauge. Hit the bomb button a 2nd time to use the LR once it's ready, but make sure to do it before the energy gauge is back to zero. For the difficulty related trophies (Casual, Original, and Expert) you don't have to get the true last boss. The other trophies such as the stage no-miss ones and the true final boss (one for beating the TLB, and one for losing to it) can be earned by playing on the Novice mode if you have trouble. The "Welcome to hell" trophy for challenging rank 50 is easier to get than it sounds. Just go to training and turn the rank up to 50, then start it. One that was a bit hard for me at first was the "Beyond the limits and become a king!" where you need to do 3 limiter releases in stage 1. Stage 1 is quite short, so you need to take advantage of recharging after a LR runs out. Just as the red LR gauge is getting low, have some enemies around that you can take out quickly for the large medals. Hopefully you time it right so you're collecting the medals right after the LR ends. RG's lead designer Daisuke Koizumi also has done Senjin Aleste, an arcade title for M2's Shot Triggers series. If it gets a console port, I'm buying. I'd import the Japanese physical version, since I don't trust M2 to release the game outside Japan (their USA lineup is missing most of the titles that appeared in Japan).

Popular Post Sunny
- Platinum 236- Ara Fell - All Trophies - I found this little gem completely by chance while looking through the sales and I'm so glad I did, Ara Fell is an RPG made in the same mold as the classics from the Golden era of JRPGs such as Seiken Densetsu, Final Fantasy and Grandia, I loved every minute I spent with the game, the story is the basic JRPGs shenanigans, average teen girl/boy and childhood crush found out they are the chosen ones to save the world, it's the same basic stuff but done right and it got my attention all the way to the end, it's really well written and the jokes are never too cringe since they fit so well with the character's personality, the gameplay is turn based battle system that felt to me like a mash up between Final Fantasy and Grandia while the exploration it's like most JRPGs from the 90's, the graphics are very charming, the sprites really well done and the soundtrack really well made, the devs went for the 16bit era which I really loved since most indie games are rather obsessed with 8bit, I'm by no means complaining as I also love 8bit games but I grew up with a SNES and games like Zelda, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 4 so this game was a love letter, lastly the platinum journey wasn't so bad, just complete all side quests while grabbing some collectables, but these are my favorite kind of collectable since they actually have an impact on gameplay as they bestow permanent buffs for everyone in the party so there's a good reason to hunt them down, you can play the game on Expert from the get go but I always play on normal first in any game I start to get the intended experience, the game is rather short so it wasn't that bad running through the game twice, all in all a very enjoyable journey that was very nostalgic and at the same time simple but didn't feel forced neither overstayed its time, if you like classic JRPGs couldn't recommend more, it's truly a hidden gem.

Popular Post Peaches
Dragon Quest XI. I gave up on the final secret boss after 10 rage inducing tries and bad RNG. So I just caved and used the 2D mode for the final costume. Overall, amazing game. My first Dragon Quest ever and I loved it. Reminded me of the old JRPGs I used to love on PS2 like Rogue Galaxy, FFX, and Kingdom Hearts. Now to wait for Dragon Quest 12.

Popular Post StraightVege
King of Gunlord #319 7th Fastest Achiever (6 hours, 58 minutes) Until recently, I had been completely unfamiliar with NGDEV, the little German development studio responsible for this homebrew side-scrolling shooter, but I'll certainly be having a gander at the rest of their catalog now. They delivered a competent throwback to the glory days of 90s run and gun classics such as Turrican and Contra here, without being excessively punishing. The game maintains a genuine retro feel, right down to the damsel in distress trope and broken English dialogue. Come to think of it, I'm not so sure that the latter was an intentional approach, but the hilarious intro scene makes a great first impression either way. Gordian is exactly the type of protagonist I would've found to be ultra cool back when I was a 12-year-old, resembling a cross between Master Chief and Black Panther in his "Gunlord suit" powered armor. Part and parcel of an old-fashioned game, his single-minded goal is to locate his buxom missing wife, Vanessa, so he hops into a futuristic spacecraft and departs to planet Kairos II. There, he'll need to defeat a generic big bad demon, referred to as "The Master," by blasting his way through ten mostly non-linear stages, swarming with biomechanical monstrosities created by the aforementioned villain for reasons. Gameplay is satisfyingly simple, with Gordian capable of firing various gun power-ups in eight directions, jumping, climbing ladders, rolling into a speedy ball form like Metroid's Samus, and clearing the screen with his limited "sideflash" attack. Additionally, he can whip out an alt-fire beam mode weapon at any time, which can both damage enemies through walls and destroy most incoming projectiles for defense, a quite important ability to make use of if you want to perform well in Gunlord X. My recommendation is to hold onto the bounce shot weapon (green pick-up) whenever possible, as it's pretty overpowered. Personally, I thought the "modern" control scheme was best, since it allows you to shoot by tilting the right analog stick. Exploration of the intricately designed, expansive levels is rewarded with extra lives and giant gems that grant more continues, so it's worth being thorough in your search. The game's challenges are varied enough to prevent stagnation, too, featuring a couple of fun shmup stages, one tricky auto-scroller, and a stage focused strongly on vertical platforming. On the subject of platforming, the controls did feel somewhat loose, causing me to walk off ledges and miss jumps more often than I should. However, thanks to the extremely forgiving checkpointing and continue system, I can't recall any frustration. It is very easy to overlook a collectible, though, necessitating a full replay of the level to grab them all again. Fortunately, this only happened to me once—pay close attention to those walkthrough videos! Run 'n gun veterans expecting a more hardcore experience might be disappointed, in fact, because Gunlord X doesn't apply much pressure on the player with its enemy spawns, while bosses behave in rather predictable patterns. I'm definitely accustomed to this sub-genre being a fair bit more brutal, but I'm rarely going to complain when a game is kind enough to take it easy on me, either. Indeed on the easier side overall, but no less enjoyable for it. It might not reach the heights of something like Valfaris, but Gunlord X is far better than its budget price tag could lead one to believe. Creative stages, plenty of solid blasting action, fair bosses, some good tunes, and the length is just right. Yeah, happy to recommend this one! Popular Post Eqill5
Platinum #65 - Super Meat Boy Finally glad to have completed SMB! When I first joined psnp and came across SMB, it seemed to have a reputation for being one of those difficult but popular platinum trophies, almost like, if you’re going to try your hand at something hard - start here. And it was tough there’s no doubt about it! It’s an excellent platformer. Fluid movement, tight controls, really fun and memorable levels. I also loved the transition from light and dark worlds. However....I honestly stopped having much fun when I reached Cotten Alley (the final world) and was going for Girl/Impossible Boy trophies. I put the game down whilst practicing for Impossible Boy twice. I couldn’t enjoy it for whatever reason, maybe I had been in the wrong mindset at the time, or burnt out from it, but after 11 months of no progress, I returned to it fresh, relearned all the levels and practiced, and practiced. The final trophy took me around 25-30 hours over the last 3 weeks to earn, sadly I haven’t had much time so it was mostly short sessions. I ended up enjoying a lot of the levels in this final world, it’s more fun when you aren’t dying all the time I’d read people talking about it but didn’t realise just how nerve wracking it would be. The nerves, man oh man... everyone that has done this will understand the adrenaline when you are only 1 or 2 levels away from the success of an Iron Man run. And for that thrill alone I would highly, highly recommend this platinum if you fancy a fair challenge!

Popular Post Edunstar84
I'm back, baby!!!! Arisen A testament to the knowledge gained from both worlds after many adventures and even more battles. Time: 91 hours So, last year I experienced massive game burnout...is what I would love to say, but I was actually on my PC playing Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds - the newest mobile mmo (don't play it! it's not as polished as Genshin). After playing that game every day for about 7 months all I can say is, in the end, that it didn't spark joy. It's also been 2 full months since I've played it, and I don't really miss it. With that said, I wanted to take a nice good break from gaming in preparation for Hogwarts Legacy. Only to find out that the PS4 version releases in April. OUCH!! That actually hurt. I would've gotten the PS5 by now if it weren't for the lack of systems, and it (still) being quite expensive. You can't roll up to a store and buy one anyway. Enter Tales of Arise! I weep and hang my head in shame for I, Edunstar84, could've easily finished this game ages ago. Where do I begin? To be honest, I've forgotten most of the story, but this is a JRPG. 2 warring nations/countries/worlds blah, blah, blah, and a group of strangers come together to save the day blah blah blah (pun intended). Anywho, the battle system was fluid and easy to jump right back into, which might mean that it was boring. I don't know really. I was really happy it wasn't complex because, oy boy, finishing and platting a game that you've taken a break from is difficult to do, especially when all you have left is endgame bosses. But what makes a great Tales of game? The art style is beautiful. I love me some watercolor. The skits were funny; not as funny as Tales of Hearts R or Graces f though. The characters themselves were ok. I liked Berseria's better (Hearts and Graces also). It definitely has the best world! Other than that, like I said, a typical Tales of game. So yeah, I know this isn't your typical review, but honestly, it's quite possibly the first time in a while since I've written this much in English. It's sobering.
Popular Post Thrillhelm
#2800 God Of War 53 hours of joy and awe. A staple platinum on this site (third-highest number of total achievers), 2018's God of War is the perfect example how a great road to platinum can look like. A lack of difficulty-related trophies doesn't mean its not challenging, and having many collectibles doesn't mean to be a boring checklist like in let's say Assassin's Creed. I enjoyed the story which neither had nor needed the over the top action from God of War III, that doesn't mean you won't see combat, in fact you'll see a lot and it feels so good, you have some weight in your punch, and as wise and caring Kratos is to his son, as brutal and unforgiving he can be when facing enemies. Great game, with awesome visuals, soundtrack, and most of all dialogues and voice-work second only to Red Dead Redemption 2. Popular Post slender_adrian
#111 Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Grind: 2/10 Time: 105 hours Rarity: [Rare 17.3% / Uncommon 39.24% ] "Take your heart." I have to say P5R really improves the original P5, I'm not a fan of this type of re releases of games I can get it on the situation of P4 and P3 but in a honest opinion this was a great game, it included a lot of good changes in the combat mechanics which are incredible fun and of course stylish. There's new confidants and new story segments, which I still think the story for this game is not impressive at all and very mediocre, if I had to pick between the P5 and P5R true endings I'll pick without hesitation the P5 true ending, I'll explain my problems with this game story and characters on the hidden section which will include spoilers. This is by far one of the best turn based JRPGS I've played, not for the story but for the mechanics and the overflowing charm this game has, it's a game super fun and it's accesible for anyone (that has 100+ hours and that likes reading in a videogame), there where moment's I laughed like crazy on a lot of moments which were genuinely good moments in the game, this is totally a must play, what else can I say about P5R, this game truly took my heart! Spoiler I said on my previous post of the P5 plat why I think this game's story is mediocre at best, same with the characters, to put it simply, mainly because is just the typical japanese you'll see in the most cliche shonen way, and I'm not saying this game should have a serious and deeper story or whatever, but I'm not a fan of this type of stuff, it feels so fake in my opinion. When I say the new characters and when I saw one of them was a councilor named Maruki the first thing I told myself was "I hope is not a Aizen character" (character which either is a doc or some scientist that uses a white coat which seems to be good and a god sent at first and then turns into a super evil villain, Bleach reference), and at first he was ok, I didn't have a problem with him until he turned into a Aizen character, he literally has the same hair cut like if that makes the character more evil. And there's the last palace and third semester which to make this quick it's basically a DLC for the P5 and make no sense whatsoever. You beat god deleted the metaverse and from nowhere Aizen Maruki becomes a new god and now he controls the metaverse and once you beat all that, the game just go back to the P5 true ending route, it's fun hell yeah but it doesn't make any sense. That's why I'll pick P5 true ending instead of Royal's. This is the type of stuff that put's me down with this game, and there's a lot more of this type of stuff, it doesn't ruin the game or something but it's not for me. So the plat... well basically all you have to do is beat the game and bam you got a platinum trophy, that's all. Yes you'll need over 100+ hours if this your first time playing. Yes you can play on safe making the game a graphic novel. Yes I played the same game for 300 hours 3 times. Just look at the trophies and don't forget to do stuff, I had like a month of free time in the end, like November and December, I maxed all confidants and I still had a lot of free time in the end, you don't need to do so but that shows how much time you have in this game compared to P5. The trophy you should focus is on maxing the stats, technically that's the """hardest""" trophy and you must keep an eye to stay on the true ending route. This is a walk in the park plat and very enjoyable which compared to P5 plat which is way "harder" and time consuming you can do everything in one go and you don't have to worry about the schedule. Totally recommend this game, but if you haven't play a Persona game, I'll recommend playing 4 first since 5 and 3 are incredibly long games and I can get if people get's tired, anyway awesome game, awesome anime and awesome plat!
