Popular Post JaM
*something something* Plat Rain Day #228 - 237 I really dunno if you can call Mecho Tales an "easy" plat, it sure is short but it tested my patience. I guess Xillia 2 is... Ok(?) I am still bummed that I was robbed of not hearing Saorin as Leia - Well at least I enjoyed ToX 2 gameplay than ToX. Into The Nexus is probably the shortest R&C game I've played so far but it didn't disappoint - I had lots of fun playing it. DQH less the unnecessary grind is quite fun game, I really wished that the DQ I-III will be localized since I really can't recall who is the caharacters are. The only gripe I have with Cyberdimension is Compa's not a playable character - and oh boy, that loading time whenever you start the game. Hinata is the best girl in Naruto -nuff said. I am still confused with how the endings worked in Root Letter, and as mentioned before, who would have thought that I would love this Visual Novel that has no harem . With regards to Batman, 2 things: Thanks PS+ and I am so glad I played it in PS4, that final QTEs in the end is probably a nightmare in PS3. Adam's Venture was surprisingly fun, glad that I got it feom a previous sale. Dig Dug is probably my least favorite game in Arcade Game 3-in-1. It reminded me how I sucked at it years ago - thank you backup save. Edited May 17, 2018 by JaM
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum # 143: Apotheon (May 13, 2018) Difficulty: 3/10 Excitement: 7/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 12 Hours This month and last month marked the biggest dry streak without a platinum since I started trophy hunting in the summer of 2015. I initially wanted to start God of War but grew a bit disappointed with how slow the game play is in comparison to past God of War games. So in place I decided to start a game I purchased two years ago, Apotheon, a Metroidvania style game that takes place in ancient Greece. This game was enjoyable, but the dozens of crashes I had encountered made collecting some trophies a real pain. Here you play as Nikandreos, a warrior who realizes the gods have abandoned humanity on Earth. Zeus has given up hope for you and all the rest of humanity, so essentially your main goal is obviously to kill off Zeus. Many gods and obstacles stand in your way, thus a Metroidvania game usually comes with many secrets, bosses and abilities for you to collect. You have one set objective at the start of the game, then you are in what I call the hub. This area serves as a place to explore, buy weapons and items at the marketplace, and enter doors to tackle the gods you are going after. Each area has three quests you have to complete before you can fight the god. Every god has a theme attached to them. For Artemis, for example, you have to fulfill three quests that involve hunting a certain animal, such as a dire wolf. Artemis is the Goddess of the Hunt, and her area consists of a forest with hunters and animals for you to kill. Poseidon is the God of the Sea, his area consists of traveling the sea by boat, and traveling to underwater caves and exploring a shipwreck. Hades is the God of the Underworld. As such, undead creatures roam the area, and his theme consists of a spooky underground with a river filled with the souls of the dead. Movement is controlled by the left stick. Hitting R1 throws the weapon you are holding, while R2 is the weapon's attack. You still lose arrows by hitting R2, since they and a few other weapons are projectile weapons. The combat and the controls in this game take a while to get used to, but they are not as bad as some reviewers like to claim they are. I felt in many ways, it's not that much different from any other Metroidvania game out there. The art in this game, done in a Greek pottery style was done well. Indie games tend to stray away from the traditional AAA experience which is to deliver amazing graphics. I don't care about graphics all too much if the game play is fun. Unfortunately my game crashed several times to the XMB when opening certain lockboxes, and even just saving the game here and there. My game crashed six times in a row opening up one particular lockbox I was having trouble with. Every time I would save the game there was a chance my game would crash, and this was very annoying to deal with. The music fits the theme of the game quite well. The voice acting was decent, not great but well suited for this type of game. The lore of Greek mythology is present here and it doesn't do a bad job giving descriptions to the player. But overall I just felt Apotheon was merely okay. It doesn't do anything too far out of the ordinary. You fight enemies, you fight bosses, you can backtrack and find secrets that may of not been accessible to you when you first encountered them. It's everything that falls under the Metroidvania category. The constant crashing at times prevents me from saying I can recommend this game. Apotheon is rather easy, as even with patch update 1.02 you can still utilize the Olympian difficulty glitch, which all you need to do is kill Zeus in his second form to end the game. It's fairly short, as I clocked in 12 hours on my save file while exploring and taking my time to experience what this game had to offer. Just don't expect Apotheon to run crash free. Popular Post Inuty
#93 Minecraft: Story Mode (PS4) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1 Time: 20 hours Finally my fiance and me had enough time to finish this Telltale game. For me it was not as good as other games from Telltale. 8 Episodes are just to much for one season. I would wish they put more effort in the Story for the first 5 Episode because the ending came surprising and after you Play Episode 6-8 you know that it was just a warm up for this episodes. Depending on my fiance we will start the Batman season 2 next.

Popular Post Mori
Part Blood Dragon, Part Machine, All Cybercommando (currently at 1.85%) Enjoyment: 3/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Trials of the Blood Dragon was a huge disappointment. The game has little in common with Trials Fusion (or Evolution). There are many (not fun) on foot sections with horrible controls; shooting sections on both - foot and bike sections; grapling hook, which was kinda ok. There is not a single track, that I would consider more difficult than a 'medium' track on Trials Fusion. RedLynx tried something new, I can acknowledge that, but in my opinion completely failed. If you liked Trials Fusion or Evolution, stay away from this game. It is not worth your time. Platinum strain (currently at 16.83%) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 A few years ago I stumbled across the OST from 'TTP' on youtube. It was such an amazing piece, that it stuck with me. 'TTP' is a puzzle game where you have to complete trials to collect sigils, which help you to progress further in the story. The trials can contain Jammers, which can open doors; red and blue laser beams which can open doors with red and/or blue locks, boxes and air turbines; sometimes there are also drones which move around and can block laser beams or mines which move around and can kill you. The game starts really easy and never becomes frustrating hard. Only a few of the very last levels are a bit more difficult and took me longer. I would highly recommend to play the game blind first, a cleanup run is done pretty fast afterwards. The story is fine and tackles some interesting questions like "what is a person" or "what is consciousness". Just don't expect something groundbreaking. Ascension / 2000th Trophy (currently at 2.02%) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 7/10 In Titan Souls you play as a boy with Bow & Arrow and your only skill is a roll + sprint. Your goal is to kill several Titans, each is different in terms of skills and weakpoints. One hit and you die, but so do the titans on their weakpoints. I really enjoyed this little gem. The OST is great, the fights against the titans are fun and engaging and when first playing blind it takes some time to find the best strategy to kill each Titan. The trophies are challenging, but fun to do. Since the game can be completed in less than 20 minutes, it never becomes frustrating. But I have to admit, that I feel a bit dirty after using the cross-save exploit during my Iron Playthroughs (you have only one life). If you enjoy games like Dark Souls (Boss Fights) or Shadow of the Colossus, I really recommend Titan Souls to you! Popular Post Gommes_
Ni No Kuni 2 #91 One True King I have to say that I am quite disappointed with this one. The story is nonexistent and Evan is way too idealistic throughout this game. The first one was childish and naive but actually aware of that. For instance, there was one scene at the bonfire when Oliver told Esther what happened to his mom and the moment was on the edge of getting tacky and embarrassing. But then Mr. Drippy jumped into the picture and pointed exactly this out and was lighting up the mood for the characters and the players as well. All the characters in part two are boring and add nothing to the story. Why are the old guy and Cecilius part of the party? Why did they get rid off the cutscenes even though some of the people who worked on that game are from studio ghibli? Why did they only implement 4 cities and did nothing with the last one in the sky? Why did the game begin with a boring brown dungeon and why did it take approx. 4 hours to actually see the first city? The skirmishes are kinda okay but that you have to play them in order to progress can be really annoying. The world itself was just plain boring. Why did they even implement the desert and the ice desert if it actually has no purpose? It seems like that the ice desert and the crash site actually do have a purpose but the player will not know until the dlcs come out. Why were so many "dialogues" cut out and only replaced by weird words? The constant repeating of "gosh" and "excuse me" are horrible! Absolutely horrible! Btw. who came up with the idea to chose this weird style of the over world graphics? Building the city and the new fighting mechanics were actually really nice and fun but besides that I was just so disappointed by that game. The unlikeable characters, the stupid story and the plain world kinda killed the game for me. In the first part I had the feeling to experience the world together with Oliver. And I loved that, cause it was new for him and me. They missed this opportunity with Roland and he was quickly downgraded to some bland character. And for me the weirdest part is, that building the kingdom was way more fun than the rest of the game. I mean we are talking about a jrpg and not about a strategy game here.
