Popular Post reaperveteran86
Platinum #338 Slide Stars Slide Superstar - 13,39% This game is a poor man`s Trials on waterslides. You can play as one of 20 "world famous influencers", from which I don`t know a single one (and I`m not sad if it stays that way), and slide/drive down one of 30 obstacle courses to reach the finish line. I liked the gameplay and had a bit of fun with it (even if some of the courses can get frustrating if you hunt for the challenge medals or collectibles) but the whole influencer thing is a bit of a turn off for me. I think, the game would be better if they swap the characters with some VTubers or cartoon characters. Platinum #339 Wild Arms 2 (PS4) Second Ignition - 16,78% First time playing this classic (because the PSone version never reached PAL shores) and I must say, I liked it, but the first Wild Arms is better in my opinion. The story was more coherent and the characters were more fleshed out in the first game. Here it felt as if they had too much ideas and don`t know how to fit them all together. Spoiler The game introduced a ancient evil in the intro, just to ignore it for allmost 2/3 of the game (aside from a new power for the main character) to focus on a terrorist group which is then defeated and then they introduce another world threatening evil and then when this evil is destroyed they finishing of the ancient evil from the beginning with the power of friendship and a scene that reminded me a lot of the genkidama/lend him your strenght scene from the DBZ final (I am not joking). And for some of the main characters the same thing. They introduce plotpoints that leads nowhere, then you finish a late game dungeon and the character says, my problem is solved and it isn`t mentioned again. The music is brilliant, like in every Wild Arms game and I liked the graphics. It has this 2D sprites in 3D environments look that only felt done right for me in PSone games (but this can be my nostalgia). The gameplay was good with dungeons/puzzles that require the use of tools to get through (like in the Zelda games), but the fights felt a bit on the easy side (for the most part) and there are a few "where do I go next to continue the story" moments. Platinum 340 Metaloid: Origin (EU) Catch Them all. - 20,51% The succsessor of Metagal, but this time you have to play the complete game to get the platinum instead of just the first two levels. Like Metagal, this is a Mega Man clone, nothing more nothing less. The game was fun, with a few fustrating parts, like the last and third to last boss and some parts in hard mode but nothing compared to the originals, thanks to a very fair checkpoint system and the option to heal yourself for (in game) currency. For the platinum the game has to be beaten to allmost 100 % with all 3 characters (one time on hard mode). One thing that I find funny is, that the developers named a trophy "Glade to know this achivement really worked!" for defeating the 2. last boss form on hard without using the aforementioned heal option and a mech suite is (positively) glitched as you can get the trophy on normal mode (but you have to beat both forms without healing option to get the trophy).

Popular Post RotatingCube
#138 Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom (PS5) This if my first game in the Wonder Boy series. I'm only familiar with the Adventure Island series which is kind of a spinoff and that obviously plays very differently. This one is a Metroidvania style game which is always a plus; that genre is one of my favorites. Gameplay is pretty good and I like the gimmick of changing monster forms plus the game looks very good visually. One thing I didn't like was that the traversal abilites were locked in Armor pieces. That means you have to constantly equip and unequip them as you go through different areas. I mean it makes logical sense but it doesn't lend itself to the smoothest of gameplay. It's like the Iron Boots and the water temple from Zelda all over again (if you've played Ocarina of Time, you know what I mean). #139 Balan Wonderworld (PS5) Ah the internet; the place where everything is either a 0 or a 10. That's about the range of opinions that I saw whenever I come across casual topics about Balan Wonderworld. Professional reviewers were more rational about it and scored the game mostly 4's and 5's. I actually personally would score it slightly higher as I didn't think it was that bad, mostly just mediocre. First things first, this game has a surreal sense of style similar to Nights which I thought was fantastic and the cutscenes for each chapter are well made. They actually look almost as good as the ones found in those theatrical digital animation movies. Each boss having its own unique music was also a nice touch. Unfortunately all that is undermined by some odd design decisions the makers used for the gameplay. For example, the game insists on using just one button for most everything. That basically made costumes very one note (if the costume can do an attack, it usually can't jump and vice versa) requiring you to use multiple costumes just to do the most basic things. If you lose all copies of a costume, usually you'll have to trek all the way to where you originally found it to get a new copy (which is annoying for the rarer costumes). If you want to recollect more drops or retry a Balan's Bout minigame in a level, you'll have to beat the boss of the chapter that level is in in order to respawn them. Things like that makes the game a lot more tedious than it really needed to be especially if you're trying to go for the platinum.
Popular Post Caldor2K2
Been a long while since I posted here, but since it's a milestone I figured why not. I had to think long and hard what I wanted for my 150th platinum but finally found my answer. #150 - Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy IV has been one of my favorite games going back 30 years now when it was known to the west as Final Fantasy II. I've played pretty much every version since then, and was thrilled to see the pixel remaster version come to consoles. The graphics were decent as was the rearrangement on the soundtrack. Trophy wise most are straightforward, with plenty of collectables to be found and missed. Need to RNG a couple of them, but the drop rates have been modified to still being a pain, but not impossible. The boost function was nice, helps speeds things up but if one is playing for the first time I'd have to advise against using it. Other Quality of Life changes include auto save, quick save anywhere instead of just save points, and a full map showing both world and local area. My only beef with the pixel remasters is the lack of extra content that the GBA versions had. FF4 IMO suffers the worst (Followed closely by FF2), simply because of what it added. It allowed you to swap characters out near the end of the game, and with 13 or 14 characters FF4 has the second most behind only FF6. The bonus dungeons had unique character related storylines for every character as well. If you have never played Final Fantasy IV or really any of them, with the pixel remasters on PS4 now might be a good time to jump in.

Popular Post StraightVege
Primetime Content Consumer Your life is now free of challenges. Congratulations #332 A long time coming, but I completed both Little Nightmares games recently, so I'll talk a bit about them in this post, although LN1 doesn't have a platinum. This series feels like the logical evolution of titles such as Clock Tower I played in childhood. When it comes to the original game... look, I can certainly see what all the fuss was about. The antagonists are a delightfully disturbing example of body horror, many intriguing metaphors in the story, the listing ship setting allows for clever use of the unsettling Dutch angle, while dynamically affecting certain puzzles via making objects slide or swing back and forth as the boat tilts, and the conclusion is still powerfully shocking. Unfortunately, it also feels like an indie puzzle-platformer made in 2017, with horrendously clunky mechanics that brought me frustration to no end, sabotaging my immersion. I kept trying to think of the exact game this reminded me of, and it eventually occurred to me: Unravel, which I didn't get along with for similar reasons. Perhaps my standards are too high, or I'm simply crazy. Six is a ravenously hungry little girl, just trying to survive in a floating slaughterhouse full of gigantic monstrosities who intend to devour her, an endeavor not helped by the fact that object interaction can be woefully unreliable, with wonky physics to boot. I lost count of how many times I exclaimed "grab/push/pull it, you fucking dumbass!" at my screen. Exacerbating these issues is the poorly conceived control scheme, where holding square is necessary to sprint, X jumps, and the triggers are utilized to crouch and grab respectively. Maybe I've lost something with age, but this setup felt so unnatural and uncomfortable to me. Then, there's the combination of 2.5D movement and poor camera angles, which frequently encourages you to plummet to your death from narrow beams and pipes, not to mention get stuck on environmental geometry at the worst times, such as when you're being pursued by the resident freaks. Checkpoints are pretty miserly, too, so you can lose a fair bit of progress upon death. Trial and error is part and parcel of this genre, so checkpoints need to be placed well, and considering they expected you to beat the game deathless in under an hour for a trophy, all of this is especially inexcusable. No way I was attempting that bullshit without save backups! An engrossing horror experience, but where it concerns the gameplay, I wasn't terribly impressed. Mercifully, the prequel remedied most of the problems I had, being much improved mechanically, while intensifying the stellar horror aspects. The control layout still doesn't suit my preferences, but when everything else isn't fighting you and feels snappier, it's far less noticeable. Grabbing functions as it should, you no longer have to lug keys around, it now seems impossible to fall when traversing narrow walkways, and the checkpoints are more reasonable. No irritating trophies, either! The story is obviously very abstract, yet interesting nonetheless, with one of the characters seemingly trapped in a time loop, doomed to become a villain over and over. Not sure what's going on with the object fixations people exhibit (hats, masks, shoes, etc.), but I have some of my own interpretations. In this instance, you play as a boy named Mono, solving clever puzzles in grimy, richly detailed urban settings alongside Six as your AI partner, which works quite intuitively. I rather appreciated how they conveyed the initial lack of trust, and eventual building of friendship between the two characters wordlessly, through expressive animations and the context of the scenes. Both the stealth and chase sections involving the grotesque cast of pursuers are expertly laid out and tension-filled—this game understands well that proper pacing and powerlessness make for quality horror. The threats this time appear to be archetypes that children often fear, like a strict teacher or unfamiliar doctor, suitably warped through a horror lens, of course. There's also a particularly brilliant segment taking place within a dark hospital, where you're attacked by mannequin enemies that become paralyzed whenever Mono's flashlight is shone upon them, thus you have to carefully maneuver through while keeping them at bay. I'm honestly too desensitized for scary stuff to bother me anymore, but I can nevertheless tell when a game is doing things right, and Little Nightmares II sure as heck is. Perhaps the only element I didn't enjoy was the bit of combat they implemented: occasionally, it's necessary to pick up a blunt object and clobber some feral school bully foes, but I found the timing for this overly tricky, which got me mauled to death a number of times. Those areas were fairly annoying, admittedly, but not enough to harm my enjoyment to a significant degree. So, maybe I wasn't as enthralled with the first entry as most people appear to be, but I definitely enjoyed my brief time with the second. In fact, I'd say it belongs on top of the puzzle-platformer heap, next to titles such as Limbo, Inside, and the Trine games. You'll surely be a fan of LN2 if you liked those!
Popular Post ZitMeatloaf
"What the hell is the current status of ZitMeatloaf's platinums?!" I hear you ask. Fear not, for I will tell you. #146 - 1979 Revolution: Black Friday "True revolutionary" Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 2.5/10 I'd originally picked up this game as a non-fiction title for the Platinum Every Genre challenge, but Unpacking filled that need instead. So this became my "Erotic" game. I don't know who the hell assigns these genres on IGDB, as this is the least erotic game I've ever played; Kirby is more erotic than this. Anyway, it's pretty bad. It plays like the jankiest Telltale game you've ever played, and personally I just didn't find it very interesting. #147 - Time Loader "Quantum Observer" Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 Moving on to a different challenge, I played this game to satisfy the letter Q for the A-Z Platinum Title challenge. It's a short time traveling puzzle game where you play as an intelligent robot invented by a paralyzed scientist, who sends the robot back in time to try and prevent the accident that paralyzed him. Spoiler alert: don't mess with the past, you'll screw things up. #148 - Zero Time Dilemma "Zero Escape" Difficulty: 2/10 with a guide Enjoyment: 3.5/10 Another A-Z Platinum Title challenge game, this time for the letter Z. This game is basically like the Saw movies: escape rooms with lots of gore and death. It was meh, not the type of game I'd normally play. The things I'll do for challenges, apparently. I knew this game wasn't going to be my cup of tea, so I used a guide straightaway to minimize the time as much as possible. #149 - Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel "Borderland Defender Round 1.5" Difficulty: 4.5/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 It was time for a much needed break from the bad-to-mediocre games I was playing for various forum challenges. While I enjoy participating in the challenges and it's probably inevitable that you'll play a few stinkers while satisfying the last few categories, it still feels really good to get back to a game you want to play for funsies. I've always enjoyed Borderlands, and this one didn't disappoint. I played as Claptrap and farted lots of rainbows. Good times. #150 - Dragon Pinball "Platinum Score" Difficulty: 8/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Bit of surprise, this one. I bought this game when it came out and earned all of the trophies on the first day except the ones for unlocking an extra ball and earning 15 million points. I had no idea how to unlock the extra ball, and couldn't seem to reach 15 million points no matter how many times I tried. I kept trying for several weeks and was having fun, but eventually resigned myself to the thought that 15 million points was beyond my abilities. Then a few weeks ago I visited a real world pinball arcade. One of those places where you pay a $15 entry fee and can play as much pinball as you want all day. It was a lot of fun and got me to download this game again. I looked up how to unlock the extra ball and with some luck, succeeded in doing that on my first try. Kept playing for the next few days and 15 million points was still looking doubtful until I finally had one of those games where everything just went my way and I finally scored 15 million points... on my first ball! It was a good feeling.

Popular Post Mr_Fluffy_Pants_
129 - Doom Eternal (PS5) Enjoyed the fast paced gameplay and it has a great soundtrack, however I’m not fond of games that make you do an entire second playthrough just for one trophy. Also I wasn’t really a fan of the platforming segments, although I suppose they do give some variety to the gameplay. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who likes the fps genre, and of course doom fans. Edited May 11, 2023 by Mr_Fluffy_Pants_
Popular Post ChilledBrandon
#23 - Marvel's Spider-Man Definitely one of my favourite PS4 games now I've played through it myself. Absolute joy from start to finish. I loved this game. A lot of great content I would have missed out on if I'd just done the main storyline, so I'm glad I went for the platinum. Usually I'm not one for doing every single collectible and getting 100% on games but the web swinging in this game made getting them a fun activity to do. I was constantly impressed with the level of detail that went in to this game even though you spend so much of it in the air. The City is gorgeous to look at and explore.

Popular Post Boomshanks
( 89) UNCHARTED: THE LOST LEGACY DON'T RUIN THE MOMENT Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 5/10 I must admit that at first I wasn’t that interested in Uncharted Lost Legacy since it doesn’t feature Nate, Elena and Sully. However, after some friends said that it’s still a good game I decided to give it a try. It took me a few chapters to get into it, but when I did it was just like any other Uncharted adventure. Which is to say, a lot of fun. The game features Chloe and Nadine and though they are not as fun as our original trio, they still work well together. It was an interesting choice, making Nadine a heroin, but I feel like they succeeded even though Chloe is the more interesting character. The game takes place in India, which is an incredible setting for an Uncharted game. Some of the locations are absolutely stunning and blew me away, maybe more so than any other game in the franchise had done before. To me the Uncharted games are a perfect mix of exploration, story and gun fights. The exploration is really well done and the story is interesting, especially concerning the history of the Hoysala empire. There aren’t that many gunfights in this game, though I found them to be more frustrating than Uncharted 4. I always try to beat the games on Crushing without using cheats, but in this game I caved in with certain battles because I got so sick and tired of the APC ⚰️. I think Naughty Dog is a great developer for trophy hunters, since they allow chapter and encounter select which makes getting a lot of the trophies a lot easier. There are quite a few miscellaneous trophies which are pretty easy to get. This time, there is an item which makes a sound when you get near a treasure. I really like this mechanic since it allowed me to look for most of the treasures myself, without needing a guide. All in all I did one playthrough on Hard for the story, then a clean-up and then finally the Crushing playthrough. Since the game was originally supposed to be DLC, it’s shorter than the other ones, but I found it to be the perfect length. I also really liked Asaf as a villain, though he disappears for large portions of the game. Uncharted Lost Legacy surprised me in a good way. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. In fact I would rate it at the same height as Uncharted 3, though 4 and 2 will always be my favorites. I would love to see a future game with Sam and Sully, but for now all of the main Uncharted games are completed.
Popular Post Hanzoadam
1000 persona 5 Royal PS5The Phenomenal Phantom ThiefObtained all trophies. Been working on this one the last few weeks, had to take some time out of work for mental health so has been a good thing to work on. Wanted to do a game I loved and with Persona 5 being one of my top 5 I thought I'd do royal for PS5, first time doing the 3rd semester I really enjoyed it even if it was very weird, (do have P5R on PS4 on release but was still so burnt out by the original P5 platinum ?) Game is super long about 100 hours if your reading it all, I skipped a lot of stuff I'd already seen in P5, so took about 60 hours. The platinum was a hell of a lot easier than the original Persona 5, felt it was a lot more forgiving with social ranks and had more ways to improve those stats. ?

Popular Post ShinigamiSensei-
#233: LOST SPHEAR Tale of Memories and the Moon All trophies earned. [27.32% UNCOMMON] Difficulty: 3.5/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Pros: Starts a little slow, but after a few hours the story shifts and gets depper and interesting. Every character has its own little story and development. The soundtrack and all that Old School JRPG vibe. Cons: There is no fast travel between locations, the world map is very poor, and there is no way to exit a dungeon without walking back to the entry. These Mechs called Volcosuits...they really feel like a big afterthought, they don't bring anything significant to the story or the gameplay to be honest, i just used them to insta-kill low level enemies when farming money. Popular Post Trancexistence
#58 - The Last of Us Part II 2,000th trophy milestone: Every Last One of Them Never a doubt in my mind I wanted this platinum to be my 2,000th trophy after doing Part I as my 50th platinum. I thought it would be nice to have them stacked together in my trophy milestones. I also combined the Permadeath playthrough with my cleanup for an extra trophy. Part II I thought was an excellent game. A worthy sequel, but I do prefer the original. It suffers from some questionable pacing in places and there are quite a few walking and talking sections that could have been trimmed down significantly. But that's the only downside to the game I can name personally. I enjoyed the gritty combat, the overall look of the game, and of course the amazing soundtrack. Story wise, I was a big fan of Abby even though she was a punching bag for people that disliked the game when it first released. Ellie, Dina, Lev and Yara were great too. The only character I wasn't a fan of was charisma vacuum Mel (Owen what were you thinking?). Will be coming back to the game at some point to clean up that last remaining trophy for finishing the game on Grounded difficulty but I need a break first. I've had my fill of misery for now Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Total Game Time: 60 hours
Popular Post RebelsHeart
Platinum #115 - Tiny Tina's Wonderlands After a year of not having played this I finally managed to get the platinum with help of @Legchomper and his friend! Which I'm very grateful for ♥ I dropped it cause of not being able to progress through the chaos trials. But they seemed to have made those easier in recent updates and you get to do 5 levels at once instead of progressing 1 at a time. For some weird reason my complete save file got reset and claimed I hadn't beaten the last 2 main missions yet. Sadly had to replay those, plus reintroduce my main character to the concept of the chaos trials again. It was easily fixed by just re-doing all of that. It's been a lot of fun going back to the Borderlands universe and play more Bunkers and Badasses with the gang. I give the experience and overal enjoyment a 8/10
