Raidou Kuzunoha XIV
I never brought a PSP because it didn't have enough games on it that I was interested in. I initially felt the same way about the PS Vita, but then I heard a remastered version of Persona 4 was getting released on it, which I was always somewhat interested in on the PS2, but never played. I also wanted a portable Playstation system, since while I could get enough handheld fix from my Nintendo DS/3DS systems, I'd like to earn trophies when I'm out and about as well. I don't regret my purchase, even though the Vita has lost a lot of good exclusives now, it's still a better system than the 3DS imo, in terms of its design and controls (much prefer control sticks over the circle pad). It's a pity it didn't get as much attention as it deserved, but it's still getting a couple of interesting releases for it now and again (Yomawari, A Rose in the Twilight and The Caligula Effect). syumisan
The main reason why I bought my Vita, I know this is an old tread haha, is for the Koei Games. Specifically Dynasty Warriors related. I saw that Dynasty Warriors next was released on it, I was happy! Then after that was Dynasty Warriors 8 Complete Edition and lastly Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3. Hahaha Such a Koei girl ♡♡♡♡♡♡ ♡♡♡♡♡♡
Sigma999
Steins;Gate 0 was the kickstarted to make me buy a Vita since the PS3 version of S;G 0 wasn't going to be localize and i got the system a few months before the game getting release on the West and ended up buying and playing other games in the Vita during that time . S;G 0 pre-ordered and got it right on launch and to this day my copy is still sealed and haven't start it .
DamagingRob
Had more games I wanted to play at launch than the 3DS, and I wanted a new portable. Pretty much it, and is what started me on the trophy path. Although, that didn't really kick off till a year and a half later, when I bought my PS3. Before that, I played a large number of PS1/PSP games on the Vita, and didn't earn many trophies. :/ Edited June 28, 2017 by DamagingRob

30 Year Old Boomer
I was intrigued by the prospect of earning trophies on the go. Plus, there were quite a few games on it such as Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Persona 4: Golden, and so on that made me go out and buy one. No regrets, even if I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get more bigger games that were unique such as Tearaway, Gravity Rush, and so on.

Golden Devil Gamer
Just got a Vita solely because of Persona 4 Golden, lol. Jk, there's a bunch of JRPGS and VNs worth playing that are on the Vita. Strangely enough, the games that encouraged me to get a Vita were games that I already played (P4, Danganronpa, Zero Escape, etc). But yeah, the Vita's a nice console and it's pretty satisfying to hold one in my hands. Also, I prefer playing indies on a portable console, so there's that. I also got a 64GB memory card since I'll be going digital only. On a portable console, it's nice to have all the games together, as supposed to carrying a bunch of cartridges around. The only games I'll be buying physically are imported games. Because you can't have a Vita library without games that you can't read. Though I can get SAO: HF localized version instead, since the translation job is so bad, that it's basically unreadable. Idk why, but I thought of a stupid Vita analogy. A Vita is like a loli. It's small and flat, underestimated but has potential, it's made for touching (the screens at least), and they both have a small niche fanbase, but the fanbase is strongly positive about it. Also, just like a loli, a Vita has two underdeveloped small round things that come out... yeah, I'll take the closest exit outta here.
NekoSlash
An offer for a bundle with the handheld and Little Big Planet Vita and WipeOut 2048. But if I had have waited longer, I could have got it for cheaper with more games...
Neapolica
Danganronpa and P4G for me, and later Atelier Plus games. I already played P4 on PS3, but the changes to the Vita version plus trophies were more than enough to convince me to play again. I love my Vita to bits now! So glad I bought it. 17 minutes ago, GoldenDevilGamer said: Idk why, but I thought of a stupid Vita analogy. A Vita is like a loli. Not sure whether to simply be baffled or recommend professional help at this point. I imagine that being a middle school teacher is something you hope to achieve some day soon? Bought a Vita to hopefully crack it one day and make it worth more than a glorified Japanese emulator. Mostly collects dust but has the occasional great game (Persona, etc).

There used to be a time when I actually cared about having everything physically, since it' nice to showcase all the games on a shelf. Idk when I stopped doing that, lol. Now I find going digital the most convenient choice, especially for a portable console. Plus, it's nearly impossible to find Vita games at a store. My only option is to get games from Amazon... and since a lot of games were never restocked, the prices for the games are ridiculously high. 7 hours ago, Paige-ID said: Not sure whether to simply be baffled or recommend professional help at this point. tpepper1985
I got it after moving countries, had sold my car and was expecting to use public transport so wanted something to kill time on the commute. I ended up getting a job with much better pay than I had hoped for so I had enough money to buy a car in the end anyway. Don't regret the Vita purchase one bit though have had it for coming up 5 years now and it still works great. Still play it a couple of times a week, it was my first ever handheld console and If they ever made a Vita 2 I would be there day one!

Maxie_M0us3
I wanted a Vita because of WipEout 2048, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush and other Vita exclusive games (that were exclusive before getting ported to PS4 years later...). I didn't like the PSP at all and I sold it to save on the Vita at launch. There were Trophies on-the-go too! I really love the design and what it's capable for a centered-gaming mobile device! 5 years later and it's still working great as before. Of course, it got scratches and lost its silver in some side corners regardless of how I took care of it. Although I regret my purchase sometimes because of the terrible support from Sony and they completely gave it up and their owners... Being bored to death can make me think of some weird things Honestly, Lolitas exist solely to make child pornography as legal as it can possibly be. People defending lolis remind me of the people who say the love between a 45 year old man and a 9 year old boy is true and just. I guess someone telling a person that the girl in question is DEFINITELY 18 makes it all OK. But the fact that she has the body of a 12 year old, squeeks like a 10 year old, wears little onesie pajamas with little panda bears on it, and acts oblivious/innocent to most adult interaction was never any indication of age or preference, lol. In relevant news, if the Vita would allow multiple accounts it would already be an extreme step ahead. Sony does great things, but they also do certain things extremely ass-backwards. I truly think that tech innovation no longer comes from Japan like it used to, but is completely in the hands of the west now. The entire way they handled the Vita is disgraceful. I think selling it as a console on-the-go hurt it. I don't want a console on the go. My console is at home. Give me something that appeals to me even if I'm at home with the option to turn on the PS4. Face it; many people state that they love their PS Vita only if their home console is unavailable. "I love using it if my wife wants the TV" or "I can play it while in bed or on the shitter". Using the Vita shouldn't require a particular situation in life. I want a gaming system that I turn on even if I have the option to play PS4 because it provides me with something the PS4 does not. Having a console on-the-go does the opposite. It provides you a PS3/4 when the PS4 is unavailable, but when it is the Vita goes away. Now it's merely an accessory. Nintendo understands this, and gives their handhelds niches and gimmicks that no other "toy" can provide. The 3DS being a perfect example, with exclusive series found only on it (Pokemon, for instance) and introducing 3D screens, double screens, cheap games, no stupid proprietary memory cards, etc. The Switch can't do what the 3DS can and vice versa. It avoids internal competition. Edited September 19, 2017 by Paige-ID
