I haven't posted anything in this thread for a long time, but there's a reason for that. Not because of real life stuff, but because I was busy working on a trophy guide for this game. It took me a long time to get it done, but it's finally published. As my first guide, I couldn't be any happier. I have another game in my mind that I'll create a guide for, but that's for another time.

 

Clearing the game without dying certainly wasn't an easy task, at least for the first time I did it. Despite that I had done several test runs before I started speedrunning the platinum and having a good knowledge about the game, it wasn't without fails. Mission 3 took me a lot of retries till I managed to clear it without dying. Man, how much I hate both the mini boss and the actual boss of the said Mission. At least it went much better when I did the platinum a 2nd time.

 

Other than that, I don't have much else to say, since it's a short game. Still, for a Wayforward Technologies game, it's pretty well done. A mix between Contra and a Saturday morning cartoon worked really well.

Beat the campaign on Master Difficulty during my first play-thru (legit). The coolest game I’ve played in 2022! People shouldn’t glitch the highest difficulty. It’s so damn good. Is it challenging? Yes, but plenty of generous checkpoints and the ability  to cloak in latter levels and evade dense areas make it doable.

That chapter was tense, loved that fight at the end of the chapter, missed a couple of things so I went back to a previous save file, someone on a different site once made fun of me for using multiple save files, but this proves to me that I am doing the right thing.

Cut down every incoming shell.

I do feel silly that I didn't understand it properly the first time, but hey at least I've learned.

 

 Banora Treasures
Collected all items and arrived at Angeal's house before the Banora airstrike.

And the goodies have also been collected, that was very much worth it.

Defeated all virtual data in the Training Room.

That was pretty tough but I really enjoyed it.

Prevented the Materia Room from being shut down.

That was a bit silly, I loved every moment of it.

Materia fusion is really cool! I don't completely understand it yet, but all in due time.

I had some devil's luck right now, I swear that this was the most surreal thing it could ever happen. Axis Mundi is the last stage of Babel, which is a pretty hard mode, thing is this mode is randomized in a way that you can get lucky or not, I beat Axis Mundi on my 3rd try, the first one I reached 80 steps, 2nd reached about 120 blocks and the 3rd one was the one, but what makes it surreal was how I was so screwed on most of the half part of the stage, I was literally on the last line of blocks still trying to climb and suddenly I got perfect patterns in the last part of the stage, seemed the game felt pity for me haha, meaning I had a safe climbing and effortlessly. 20 minutes in this last stage, and I was so happy that I finally got this platinum, those last moments where the most scared and anxious I've been in a long time haha!

 

Conclusion on Babel (Pairs): This mode is randomized and depending on your skill (I'm not good at this game, very average imo) and the RNG you get it can be a decent challenge or prove to be an impossible task, but is totally doable with enough patience and by just trying and trying you'll eventually get it. I got very lucky in the end but hey! I really enjoyed Babel, not doing it again in a while though since I have yet to finish Full Body, but for now I'll get some rest since this nightmare is finally over! (For now)
