delboy_rules
I think in this case, it's a matter of "better games to play." It's a nice game, but kind of bland so, when someone asks me to choose between Solitaire on Windows 94 and an actual trip to Las Vegas, I might consider playing Solitaire during my cab ride to the airport. Lol, that sums it up perfectly, thanks.

delboy_rules
Nice one. I bet you are glad to get that out of the way. That's 3/10 Plats now in this event. Edited March 21, 2016 by delboy_rules
Manuelito
Sorry guys for not being able to post regularly but in the last month or so I had so much to do. I'm disappointed because I spent 50€ on a game I'm yet to play and because joining this event was like stealing the place to someone that could've been alot more active than me. I also bought The Phantom Pain on sale but still haven't played it :/. I saw that 3 guys got the platinum of their game so congrats!
wtru9
Still steadily making progress through Rainbow Moon, although pretty slowly nowadays. I've come to the part where the game opens up the map, and instead of giving you a single objective marker it's given me more freedom in that I have to figure it out for myself what it actually is I'm supposed to be doing. It's nice to have that freedom and all, but now I'm playing in a state of perpetual doubt of whether I'm actually doing what I'm supposed to or I'm doing something completely arbitrary that isn't actually any help whatsoever. That being said, Delboy's updates got me to start playing XCOM: Enemy Within (it's been in my backlog for a little while), and damn are these Mechs fun! It's so satisfying to be able to punch thin men right in the face after all those times they crit me through full cover in Enemy Unknown!
Feral
I got stuck in Deception IV and got sick of enemies slaughtering me so I've gone back to Fallout 4. Probably go back to Deception IV soon and see if I can get past these bastards. Edited March 22, 2016 by feral611
delboy_rules
I got stuck in Deception IV and got sick of enemies slaughtering me so I've gone back to Fallout 4. Probably go back to Deception IV soon and see if I can get past these bastards. I watched the trailer and a review of the game (since I had never heard of it) and it looked quite fun. Looking at the trophies (and your experience) it looks like a really tough game to advance in though so I can imagine your struggle. wtru9
I noticed that you had started getting a few trophies. This thread would certainly benefit from another Xcom injection. You know what to do..... Actually since then XCOM: EU Plus came out, so I can play Enemy Within while at home and Plus on the bus (or the toilet ). It's a bit of a shame they don't have cross save, so I've kinda got two different games of XCOM going on at the moment If you think the thread needs a bit more XCOM, I'd suggest buying EU: Plus for the Vita, it's pretty good from what I've played so far. Not as good as the home console versions of course, but not a bad game for the Vita. Plus, I couldn't possibly take over the reigns while you still have more Xcoms to plat
Popular Post effdeegee
Although there does seem to be a bit of life left in this thread, I'm gonna go ahead and take it out back behind the shed and put it out of its misery by sharing my final thoughts and unloading some cashola on a few unsuspecting folks. To be totally honest, I didn't enter this event with much enthusiasm. Seeing the drop in participation from #2 to #3 was a bit of an eye opener but, it was almost expected so, it wasn't too bad. It did, however, make agreeing to do #4 a bit of a gamble, as I had no clue if it would bounce back, or continue to fizzle. My lack of enthusiasm came from extrapolating the data and then assuming that it would fizzle for shizzle mah nizzle. As already recognized earlier, we were single digit posts away from being the least active installment out of all 4 so, hooray for my super powers of being able to read graphs. I could have countered this by being twice as active but, I would have felt like I was trying too hard to carry the majority of this thing by myself so, I went total casual with the experience and made it more of a tiny part of my life, rather than a major focus. With that being said, I still had some fun. Frozen Synapse Prime was a new experience for me and I'm glad I got to play it. I'll be sure to go back and play it again someday, as well as look into future purchases of more polished examples of the genre, like XCOM. To the participants, as always, my thanks for entering and following through on your pledge to throw caution to the wind. Once again you've done a good thing by humouring and old man and his repeated attempts to make this a better, friendlier community to chillax in and talk shop about video games. I hope you enjoyed the whole process and like your games. To the viewers, it may not have been as much quantity as usual, but there was some quality for sure. Thanks again for riding along with us and we hope to see you again in The Lottery 5. We might even finally have to introduce viewer participation prizes, eh? Speaking of prizes, I guess I'll just get right to it: - delboy_rules wins a $20 cash prize! - Jiaho24 wins a $15 cash prize! - wtru9 wins a $10 cash prize! A big congratulations to all 3 of the winners! I'll be contacting you soon for some information. Well, that's all she wrote, folks. I'll make an official closing announcement 5 or 6 days from now, when the prizes are delivered. Thank you all again for your participation and we'll see you again on May 15th, 2016.
wtru9
Thanks for taking the time and running the event again Eff, had a great time reading everyone's updates and playing my own game. It was my first attempt at engaging a bit more in the PSNP community, and though I didn't post as much as some of the other guys, it's baby steps for this Shy Guy . Thanks to Delboy for suggesting Rainbow Moon, it's a nice game to pass the time with when I'm bored, and I'll go get that platinum someday . I'm also glad you seemed to enjoy Enemy Within (I was actually considering putting up EU instead of EW in my suggestions.... I think it's good I didn't as you already had that game ) I think I'll sum up my final thoughts on Rainbow Moon in the coming days, and I'll eagerly wait for the return of the Lottery for round 5 (even if I'll probably sit this one out... gotta give others a go, ya know? ). Also, to be fair, I don't think the $20 prize could have gone to a more fitting person
Feral
Congrats to winners I quite enjoyed this event and getting my arse kicked by a game that I would never have played if not for this. I watched the trailer and a review of the game (since I had never heard of it) and it looked quite fun. Looking at the trophies (and your experience) it looks like a really tough game to advance in though so I can imagine your struggle. It certainly is tough and also likes to trick you into thinking that you're getting good then knocks you down in the next mission. AffectatiousDonk
Another successful Lottery Eff, well done all involved. Enjoyable read as always and being exposed to a few names games also was great. Couch
I second, third or fourth the thanks for running messages FDG. I enjoyed my time here. I would've liked it if I participated more but I'm happy with the amount I did. On a side note, I did pick up half the trophies now for the PS4 version of Diablo which I'm stoked about. Should have 1 of the two versions platted by the end of the month lol. Looking forward to watching season 5 and congrats to the winners

MStalker58
Just want to say thanks to Eff and all of the participants for providing us viewers with some entertainment. As someone who enjoys watching this event but is always too chicken to sign up, usually the most interesting part is the anticipation for the games to be announced and seeing what game is selected for everyone. However, this time delboy_rules stole the show and had me anxiously waiting for his latest XCOM updates. Nicely done and I enjoyed watching the event from the sidelines.
Popular Post delboy_rules
Woo hoo, thanks effdeegee. I really enjoyed the event so thanks for hosting. I think I got lucky with being assigned Xcom: Enemy Within as it really is a game that is great for discussion. Especially when you assign players names. I am glad that people enjoyed my posts, I enjoyed posting them. Thanks to everyone on this lottery and all your kind words, you have convinced me to be more active in this community, so I am looking forward to the next lottery. I will bow out to let somebody else experience the lottery in all its glory (although if there is a spare space going....). Now to sign up to all the Project Platinum events ! @The Duck King - I am glad you enjoyed Rainbow Moon (I was a bit worried when I saw that had been chosen as it is a bit grindy). I might get the remastered version when it hits PS4 later this year (as well as the sequel), and thanks for giving me Enemy Within, I hope you have as much fun with it as I did. @MStalker58 - cheers. I look forward to seeing your participation in the 5th lottery.
DistantFox
Will past participants be able to participate again?
effdeegee
Will past participants be able to participate again? Yes. One of the options of this event is that past participants get to play a second time, only not in back to back installments. There's also a loose rule that, even if one is eligible to play a second time, it would be nice to give up the seat if a newcomer wishes to join.
Quikdrawjoe
While the quantity of posts may have been overall lower I would posit that the overall quality was higher. Except my posts but somebody's gotta be the funny one

I like this idea Eff, but perhaps you may consider a sort of power league for next time running concurrent to the lottery 5 but consisting of only past lottery players .... I'm feelin the itch to jump back in but don't want to take someone else's spot While the quantity of posts may have been overall lower I would posit that the overall quality was higher.
