BigPete7978
Given that we now have Final Fantasy VII on PS4 with trophy support, I was just wondering how many other people would love to see the rest of the PS1 era Final Fantasy titles released the same way, via PC port. Personally I think Final Fantasy VIII is the best in the series, and it is my favorite game of all time. BigPete7978
I came in here thinking it was a link to an announcement Sorry, wish it was. Just wondering if I was the only one wanting to see the games released, they are classics. Edited April 25, 2016 by BigPete7978
MesopithecusUK
I came in here thinking it was a link to an announcement Yea, same here. They really got me with that title! I'd love to see Final Fantasy VIII on PS4, it is my favorite FF
BigPete7978
Yea, same here. They really got me with that title! I'd love to see Final Fantasy VIII on PS4, it is my favorite FF Sorry for the confusion. I have edited the title so it doesn't look like an announcement, that was never my intention. Awesome to see that you like FFVIII as the best title in the series.
acasser
I liked FF8 and played it repeatedly. I'd definitely be all over that one were SqEnix to re-release it for PS4. FF9? Whatever. I could take it or leave it.
Griffon234
Yeah I'd love to see IX on PS4, it is my favourite FF and one of my favourite games of all time. I've played it through heaps of times before and would still love to do it again.
LetsTurnJu-On
Never played them, so I'm indifferent, if they straight up ported 'em I'd try them out. None of this remake split into 3 games (probably over 10 years) crap.

But yeah this topic is about a straight up port of the PC versions.
offthebone
I'd love that, honestly. I'd really love one of IX because I never actually got around to playing it.
damon8r351
No. If there are any Final Fantasies I can say I straight up hated, it's these two. 8 had a fucked up magic system, and 9 was weird and uninteresting. None of this remake split into 3 games (probably over 10 years) crap. This post is so Cobby it hurts. Anyway, I'd play 'em probably. I didn't play VIII much and IX would be cool to try out. I have VII waiting to be played and I'm looking forward to the remaster after the wonderful job they did with X.
nyonmyan
VIII had that awful Draw system and forced SquallxRinoa romance. How about IX and XII instead?
Waffle-Sensei
VIII is one of my favorite FF games so I would enjoy having it on PS4, not sure about IX though. I'd prefer XII or something.
skateak
I was just thinking about this the other day. VII made it's way over so I am sure it is only a matter of time until they bring VIII and IX too. I would buy them both. I am still hoping for the Secret of Mana PC port. MMDE
I love both games, but there's no doubt FF8 suffered from a broken battle system and some plot issues. FF9 is my favorite in the series though. FF9 is very likely to be released for PS4, seeing as it was just released for android and steam. What I really disliked about these re-releases is the addition of the cheats. They simply break the game, and can be very tempting to use for a lot of people. I really hope they make using the cheats disable the trophies. It's like max gil, max level etc. FF9 had one of the most complicated level up systems, even if it seemed so simple and easy to grasp. You don't need to really get it either, and most likely you will think you do, but there's things about it that is never really explained in the game and just ... hidden! Just couldn't get into the game, idk why. But I do know a lot of people that like it quite a bit.
Angel
Yes I would love both of them on the PS4 like VII, especially IX as this beautiful game is very special to me.
DamagingRob
I just finally beat both of these, for the first time ever, last year. \o/ But I'd still play them again, if they did this. Love 'em both.
Masamune
Don't really care for VIII (that Draw system... ugh), but IX, definitely. That's my second favorite next to VII.
Leenewbe
i have them all for my psv, but seeing the steam version of ff9 showed that the graphics are now a bit dated, also still holding out hope for a ff12 update. if not im good with playing them on my vita. ExHaseo
I don't care about VIII, it was agressively unfun thanks to the draw system, but I would love to see IX get released on PS4.
MMDE
but seeing the steam version of ff9 showed that they are now a bit dated Are you talking about graphics? Or gameplay? Usually when people say the game is dated, they refer to gameplay, and they say graphics are dated if they refer to the graphics. Graphics were awesome for the time, but very pixelated especially on non-CRT screens. Gameplay is still amazing IMO, and I played through the game not too long ago.
