For those of you who are relatively new to the forums, every year, on my birthday, I create a Holiday Special event, each one more extravagant than the last! The event is always right after Christmas, giving admins of the Trophy Hunters League (and now the Team League) a break during the holidays. If anyone wants to know more about the past of this event, look at the threads for Season One and Season Two. If you know me well enough, you should know that I never make two competitions exactly the same, and this one will be no different. For this competition, I took RNG, stuffed it in a bag, whacked it 47 times with a baseball bat, and shipped it to the other side of the world. That's right! There's absolutely no randomness in this event! And what's more, in past years, the winner was determined based on a team's total score, but not this time! This time, we're having a GRAND TOURNAMENT OF TROPHIC PROPORTIONS! Let's get down to the rules, shall we? Rules: 1. Each team will be comprised of two members. Players can either pick their partner or choose to join the Bench. If on the Bench, teams will be made on the start date based on the order people joined. 2. Base Scoring will be based on rules from the Trophy Hunters League (this means that if a game won't count for points in the league, then it won't count here!), but as always, anyone can join this event. 3. The event will start on December 27th, GMT. The registration will close at the end of the first round (That's right! People can even sign up throughout the first day of the event!). 4. The tournament will consist of five rounds, each 24 hours long. Between each round will be a day off for me to be able to count scores. 5. Players must sync within 4 hours of the end of a round. 6. The first round will be a preliminary round, where the top 16 scores will move onto the actual tournament. After that, brackets will be set up based on ranking (1st VS 16th, 2nd VS 15th, etc.). 7. Teams will have one Boost per partner and one Team Boost. A Boost will give a player double points for that round, and a Team Boost will give both team members x1.5 points for the round. Of course, teams can use multiple boosts in a round, which can stack. 8. Boosts must be used before a round starts. They can be used during any round, even the preliminaries. 9. Rounds may change depending on how many teams sign up, so stay tuned. If anyone has any questions about these rules, feel free to message me. If any team manages to overcome the odds and stop me from winning my third Holiday Special in a row, I will give EACH player of the winning team a $20 PSN card! That's right! If a game wouldn't count in the Trophy Hunters League, it won't count in this event. That means no games with a 50th competition time of under 4.5 hours, no stacking games, no Sound Shapes, etc. oooooooh more team competitions? let me just confirm my teammate and then we'll sign up. The dynamic duo cannot be stopped! You read our team name wrong. I'm not going to have as much time to play as I thought over the holiday season and I don't want to drag my partner down. My plan was to use a combination of three to five hour games and Sound Shapes but because of the Trophy Hunters League rules I won't be able to do that. I've talked to Redcar and he said that he would still like to participate in the event but would rather find his own partner than go on the bench. I really want to join one of the leagues (for real ) but I just don't have the time to commit to it . I still look forward to watching the event play out and I hope that Redcar can pull off a win . I understand. Just do what I do and slowly build up a massive backlog over the course of a year, only to go though most of it in a few seasons of a trophy league or two. Then rinse and repeat. redcar200 Posted November 18, 2016 Share Posted November 18, 2016 Question: Does the game have to be on the account for it to count once the event starts or does it have to be a brand new game not on your trophy list? Plus the game can't be less than 4hrs n 30 mins or no less than 6 hrs. I read the rules but couldn't find the answer to my questions. Thanks for hosting the event.
