Kill Your Completion v3. 0

 That is a joke, right? If you've ever seen Dragon Ball, you'd know there are Dragon Balls, and when you collect all 7, Shenron(the dragon in the image) grants your wish.

I know enough of Dragonball to know both that dragon and your avatar are from it, though I have never watched it, just heard stuff while my little brother watched. As such, I know Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Cell.

I did like that eye visor thing Vegeta and his partner had, I used it in a few drawings back then and I immediately bought one when I had the chance in Mass Effect 2.

Now Pokémon I actually know enough about though, one of the things I can actually school the youth on.

@Jaguargenie I almost bought Headlander in the last sale but in the end I went with other games. Glad to hear you're liking it.

Dang, I guess I did read it. Is my memory THAT bad?

Where can I find your review? I'll defo read it if I can find it lol.. And not sure stealth is cool, but if I want to exterminate controllers / tv etc not sure if that's the best way to go then...

That was actually a shout out to Billy to read my Headlander review from this KYC thread. Which he apparently did already. And already commented on. And neither one of us remembered...  lol

Dont have a review of Dishonored or Deus Ex for you to read, but they aren't both exclusively stealth. If stealth isn't your thing, you can play both as a homicidal maniac or something in between. But they are both built so well you have the option to kill everyone or literally go through the whole game with a no kill run (and a shiny trophy for it showing you did). I can't recommend them highly enough.

Damn, and I was thinking mine was quite large... Good luck with playing em all.

No ps4 yet? wanna complete all ps3 / vita games first? Or at least a big portion of it?

My ps4 backlog is also listed in the spoilers, but I'm missing more games for that system, that I'm still interested in buying at some point. Since I'm a cheap bastard I only purchase ps4 games once they hit a price of 20€ or less.

It's been quite a while since I've given an update and there wasn't much to add in regards to Deadpool or Firefly Diary. In terms of KYC3 I could talk about Nier and Conception II, while flashing back to KYC2 for a Red Alert 3 update.

Conception II

I finished the third dungeon and recruited the last member and boy is the game lackluster so far. After having played the Mementos dungeon in Persona 5 it became quite blatant why Conception II's dungeons feel so boring and repetitive. Every dungeon is broken between a hallway and a room full of enemies and there's nothing to get excited about. Despite the main dungeons being themed around the Seven Deadly Sins, each dungeon looks the same with just a different wallpaper. Contrast that to Persona 4 where one dungeon was heaven-like and another was a nudie bar and these dungeons were also randomly generated. Weapon selection is pretty limited as I haven't been able to change the weapons for the women, there's no need to buy many healing items since you could heal using magic and exit/return a dungeon to restore MP without consequence, and enemy designs are bland so you can't be amazed as to what a new enemy looks like. The character recruitment just feels like they throw a tool for the player to use, with no moment to shine or establish some depth for the characters. Freaking Koromaru from Persona 3 got a bigger celebration for his recruitment and he's a freaking dog. I'm poofed out of dungeon crawlers for a while thanks to Persona 5 so I'll have to ditch Conception II for the meantime.

Red Alert 3

Thanks to fang7744 for putting up with my screwups, we somehow managed to finish the co-op campaigns. All that's left for me to do is do a few more skirmishes but my goodness am I struggling with the 3-on-1 handicap match. I'll come back to it in a week after I get recharged.

Nier

Man, I had this game ranked #3 out of the ten I played in KYC3, but after completing the game I'm downgrading it to #5. I was hoping there would be a better explanation of how the world worked but I'm left hanging with a few questions like:

  • How do Shades reproduce?
  • Is there a system of reincarnation for the general population?
  • What was the point of the five year time skip?
  • Why did Weiss have to do that action in the end?
  • How does Ending D work when that was never hinted at before?

It's freaking sad that I know more of how FFXIII's world works despite not knowing its jargon yet I understand the verbiage behind Nier but not how its world works. While there were a few highlights like homages to Resident Evil's Spencer Mansion and obtaining items in Zelda, I would have preferred some build to either the world or some of the characters since the two best ones were Kaine, a vulgar woman, and Weiss, a sassy talking book. Boy was I disappointed and I can't recommend people to play this game if you want to be excited about Nier: Automata. Hopefully Nier: Automata makes me care more about the characters.

Once I feel in the mindset to properly play games again I think I'll tackle a few games from previous KYC events to at least finish a proper playthrough. Mirror's Edge One Piece: Unlimited World Red, Dead Space: Extraction, and Shadow of the Colossus seem like games that I'm not far off from seeing the finish line so those are possible choices. I would like to make some more space in my PS3's HDD so I could either clear out the shorter games or just add some of the beefy games for the next KYC that way I could at least chip away at them. Hopefully everyone has been doing well and may the lists turn out a few surprises.

Corrected the Nier ending that I'm referring to.

Sorry @Hemiak, I just went and played through two potential KYC games.

Shadow Of The Colossus: might not have been a KYC game anyway because I thought it would have taken me more time to play through. Still, I'm done with the game now and it's not even at 40%.

Retro/Grade: perfect KYC game - short to play through but it still lowers my completion; I'm done now and I have only obtained one single trophy (for completing the game on Beginner mode). Will probably go back some day and play Pro mode, but not harder than that.

Doodle God was awful. I played a game like that on my phone years ago and enjoyed it, but that's when I could swipe elementd to each other, the controls on PS3 are horribly slow - two books next to each other, go into a category on each, then drag elements all the way to each other... It's not worth your time or money. I got it for free and I still think I paid too much; I immediately deleted Devil and Kingdom.

Late Shift is cool, watched one version with my wife and she immediately wanted to see another version, and one more after that one. After that I took to a walkthrough to get the remaining trophies, but I still watched all the endings completely.

Thanks!

The Doodle games looked like cheap fun but if the mechanics are bad, I'll steer clear.

Late Shift seems intriguing with the storyline gameplay.  I'll add it on my radar list.

After looking at our trophy pages side by side I see far too many similarites. Although you finish more games than I do :P

I have about 300 unplayed games besides my 200ish backlog shown on here. Far too much to pick just 15 or so...

So I hit two KYC Hangover milestones tonight.

- I am now exactly 1% lower for my completion rating that I was at the start of the event. (74.12 vs 75.12)

- all of my KYC games are c or higher now (2s, 5a, 2b, 1c)

So now that I'm much closer to baseline, I can think about the next event a little. I would like some community input from people on the tentative stuff.

I'm doing a list of 6 (3 definite and 3 slots to fill) because I will do the KYC lite in July if Hem is still allowing that. So if anyone has suggestions on the last three from my list or would like to get impressions for themselves on something i listed, let me know.

Definite:

- Resogun

- Life is Strange

- Mad Max

Maybe (need 3)

- swindle (since there was so much love this past event)

- banner saga

- darkest dungeon

- shadow complex

- broken age

- tearaway unfolded

- salt and sanctuary

Thanks ahead of time all!

The Swindle was good fun if you like Rogue likes and a bit of a challenge. Salt N Sanctuary looks like a ton of fun. I hear good things about Tearaway.

I know nothing about shadow complex, banner sage, or darkest dungeon.

Broken Age looks terrible. (imo)

I'm looking into Swindle right now myself, only thing I can get out of people on here is rage about a random trophy.

Broken Age is cool, especially act one is awesome.

Those good things about Tearaway you have not heard from me as I was disappointed with it in this very event.

Well, there's always used game purchases, which is what I do often. Games are usually in pristine condition and prices tend to be reasonable. Skip gamestop and department stores and go ebay or similar.

Yep, this is also my tactic. except for 15-20 games on my list i have bought everyone of them in a sale or as a used game. Saves a lot of money

did you get @ least 1 trophy for your games so they show up in your list?? I've checked your games after your goals.  so your completion rate isn't of the games you've played/

But also from the games you own??

btw from the Netherlands as well ;)

The completion rate on your card i believe is the average of the games that you have started. The one in the statistics also counts the 0% games in, same with unearned trophies.

The trophy advisor gives a much higher number because it does include 0% games.

I had my own little project last year, doesn't make that much sense but i wanted to have no trophies above 90% rarity in my advisor. Which means that you have to play a lot of games for about 30 minutes, so i have about 70 E ranks just from that project. In the meantime i have even more +90% trophies there then i had when i started that project

hmm ok, I can get that challenge.. But still, you've had to boot up and sync all games first then right?

For a list like yours that's pretty time consuming as well :P.

I wouldn't know witch games have those 90 % rarity unless I boot / look em up first

Yeah, i usually install all games in my backlog to the list so that i know what i own. But now i've made a spreadsheet with all the games i have.

So after that i have deleted quite a few games because i already know that i won't play them in the future.

For the PS4 i now have an external hard drive so i won't have to de-install anything there. On the PS3 it is a constant puzzle to see what i want on my system

I think you can delete them, but then it shows as hidden trophies. And now you are only allowed to have 2 games on your profile with hidden trophies so technically for this site that's a no. But as i don't care about my completion i don't mind having those games on my profile

You can hide as many games as you want; it's flags that have a maximum of two. Feel free to hide everything on your tag, if it makes you feel better.
