A bit late with the monthly summary but I'm surprised to get some points for earning, didn't expect to from just 10 plats and a handful of other games played. My leave ended earlier on in the month which was fine, but free time was often taken up with other types of work & I did actually have the motivation to play, just didn't have the time. Started off with the 10,000 trophy milestone, what a worry. The theme of last month seemed to be multiplayer. Had games with Adam & Damage here (cheers fellas!!), did the FarCry 5 online with an old mate in public sessions which was a lot of fun, then at the end of the month played through Lovers in a Dangeous Spacetime with my gf which ended up getting me some fame points, great stuff. Anyone who wants quick points might want to consider Lovers, it's extremely easy, basic & fun. Takes maybe 2-5 minutes to get used to the controls & then it's pretty relaxing.

 

I was gonna winge about the Inksplosion Vita version but I ended up just having a few beers and getting as wonky as the framerate which worked out well. Last month I started Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion which has the most hideous technical problems where everything stutters & drops to a couple/few fps during the most hectic parts of the boss fights. Pretty much gotta just get a feel for the timing and do the parries 'blind'. I beat the game yesterday though & it's going to be really easy from here-on-in so I'm gonna try for the Platinum while I'm still enjoying it, hopefully it won't take too many extra playthroughs. Might get a backlog game done after that if the impulse is still there. I have tons of easy plats that never got a look in last month so hopefully there'll be time for that as well although I still don't want to have to deal with the #200 milestone.

 

Thanks to Matty for the completion rate stats that's pretty interesting to see. I did end up getting it to 60% which was a bit of a goal, a lot of that is artifical inflation from easy plats but I've been ressurecting a lot of old games as well & earning from those. The 60% range is really better than I could hope for, I won't even contemplate 70% if it ever happens it'll probably take a good while to get there!

I just finished my first playthrough of the Vietnam dlc for far cry 5. And it's a very nice addition. 

 

I've always loved games. Based around the Vietnam War. Must go back to my late teens and early 20s playing plenty of Vietcong on the pc. Great game. 

 

It will take 3 playthroughs to complete this dlc and it can be done solo or coop. Seems only the host gets trophies if done in coop though. The 3 playthroughs shouldn't be that bad as I did 1 playthrough completing almost everything and all misc trophies in a bit of over 2 hours. 

 

Not sure how hard the other difficulties are but once the misc trophies are done you can probably move through it pretty quick I'd imagine. 

 

Get on it if you have the far cry 5 season pass. It's well worth it.

So I gave up on GH Live after I realised I needed 600,000 strums in GHTV. After hearing about the server closures due for November, I've remembered every platinum cockblock I've had before and now I'm just fuck fuck fuck.

 

I don't know why I do this comp anyway though. Commitment is the one thing that just cannot

I tip my hat to anyone that can finish down well. That is a tough game. I played it a bit on the vita couple of months back. Fun game, and challenging but getting the plat would be a great achievement indeed. Good luck. 

 

I just finished myself a backlog for this month, saints row the third. Great game and really enjoyed it, but the mopping up of the challenges did take a while after I'd done the main game and it became a tad tiresome in the end. 

 

The DLC for the game was great. Short to complete and quite fun as well. 

 

I've started Mafia 2 which will be my next backlog. The story is great so far, I'm at chapter 5. Looks like the collectables may be a grind at the end and if I do the DLC there are a couple of trophies there I probably won't bother with as they are very grindy indeed.

Congratulations mate. Top 3000 is still impressive, we all started with zero trophies and had to work our way up. Some people have more time/skill/ability than others for many reasons. Be proud of it and we'll see you in the Top 2000 and beyond before long ?

Here we are with another monthly update. Quick shoutout to @damage_6-9 for cleaning up this week with a few quick platinums, looks like someone doesn't want to win his own $10 step-your-game-up prize ?

 

I've not been completely idle though. I have successfully ticked off my #02 backlog game for the month with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on PS4. What a fantastic game! Seriously, I put it off for years, having come off the painful online boost to level 50 in AC Brotherhood. When I found out you need to reach level 55 in the multiplayer, I thought nah fuck that. I'm so glad I gave it a chance.

 

I have also managed to finally complete all of the online trophies for the base game and expansions for Naughty Bear. This is one of those games where you watch the trailer and think it's the greatest thing ever, only to get it home and realise how shitty it really is an hour later. Don't even get me started on the servers, they are literally the most broken and buggy online games I've ever played. You get kicked back to the main menu every 10-15 minutes unless you get insanely lucky, which for the first time in 8 years I finally did. I guess eventually I'll have to re-suffer through the story again if I want that elusive platinum/100%.

 

I recently started Fallout Shelter a couple of days after finishing Black Flag. It's actually not bad. There's certainly a few things I wish I'd known going in, could've saved some money but money stops being an issue when you're set up. If you're not aware, it's free-to-play and there's a free pack available to PS Plus subscribers full of goodies that are actually quite valuable. I'm hoping to get this done before the end of the month so I really hope time-skipping remains a thing for now. I hadn't backed up my save in 2 days and I accidentally left the game running overnight when I passed out on the couch. Woke up this morning with all my stats in the red and empty. Hoping that's not permanent, haven't been brave enough to check, but I'll have a look tonight.

 

On a final note, I know it's a long shot but maybe, just maybe we'll beat France tonight in the World Cup. Good luck with your trophy hunting gentlemen

Just finished my second stack of Evil Within and it was delicious ? iv always had a love for this genre going back to RE1 on the PS1, but this has got to be one of the best survival horrors ever made.. Will be starting my third and final stack soon!

And that is June - gone! Who can believe we are half way through the year and nearly half way through this comp.

 

Yes, posting has been a little quiet from myself and a lot of people this month just gone; maybe a few of us are suffering from burnout? Now being in the middle of winter, if you aren't lucky enough to be on holidays somewhere warmer, hopefully you can get stuck into some games and share your thoughts and progress here. I have heard around the traps a few people are keen to have a shot at dethroning @Demon--Prototype in July...

 

Speaking of Demon, he has yet again taken out the title for June. His numbers are simply impressive... amassing 39 plats for the month, a backlog and some fame points to boot! Crazy stuff and well done mate! @Nitro was the only other competitor to pop double figure plats with 14. Only 3 of you didn't pop a plat for the month, so pretty good effort from the field. @fantrig99 only popped 6 trophies for the month, but one of them was a plat! Interesting stat for such a low trophy haul - and it was even UR but just not quite enough to earn any points for fame.

 

Demon's backlog was a very nice UR for max points in the backlog category as well, but couldn't quite manage the trifecta with @Gibbo_0113 coming in take fame honors for the month with a very nice 0.95% UR plat. Well done Gibbo, a very nice points boost for yourself. Demon was also able to take out shame for 2 months running... although that hasn't slowed down his scoring at all.

 

9 competitors were able to complete a backlog this month. It seems the early eagerness to complete the backlog has died off for most of us, but there are a few players who have managed to complete at least one every month and remain in contention for Gibbo's prize of completing their ENTIRE backlog before the competition ends!

 

With the exception of Demon, the scorecard is very tight in the mid pack with almost everyone still a chance for a podium finish given there is 75 points on offer every month. And as mentioned, a few people have stated their intentions of going hard in July so we could see a shake up of the scorecard!

Lowest earning month for me in a while. Had a number of extra days at work & it's hard to get motivated to do much afterwards. I purchased more games than I played for sure.

 

After sorting out Fallen Legion on Vita for the UR at the end of the first week I was pretty satisfied, loved the game despite technical issues & I'll definitely pick up & work on the ps4 version next time it's on sale. Made the first 10 earners on the leaderboard but not the first Australian. Said first Australian left some great tips in the subforum though so it was for the best.

 

After that I did Motorstorm Apocalypse which I'd had out in the active backlog long before the server closure announcement. The server situation was all the motivation I needed, did the online mostly solo which was boring as buggery but then I had the last bit of story & collectables to do which was great fun. First racing platinum, only took 10 years to do one. This is just the type of racing I like though, unrealistic as it gets, option of driving both motorbikes & trucks, plenty of drifting & airtime. Love that sort of thing wish there was more like that.

 

Only other platinums were Jak II & III done in the least legit way possible ?

 

Special mention should go to 'Invector'. I played every song in one go & that shit made me feel nauseous & on-edge. Cool game but the unatmospheric, gross synth sound that permeates most songs is quite the burden to bear. Sounds like a festering cocktail of STD's mutating into a new strain. I also noticed one of the lines was almost straight-up ripped from an old 70s song. Hopefully I can get over myself & get back to it though I do like a good music game.

 

This last week I had the impluse to do some Neo Geo stuff & got the 100% for Kof 97 global match & Kof 98. Those were easy, did Fatal Fury Battle Archives II afterwards and that was a total bastard thanks to some very SNK AI but it's all done now. Currently working on Fu'un Super Combo, don't have much experience with the games on that so it's been pretty interesting. I've still got Windjammers, AOF Anthology & Samurai Shodown Tenkaichi sitting around for future masochism. 

 

I was pretty hyped for Lumines Remastered & didn't spend too long thinking about grabbing it. It's been really nice hearing those tunes again but I've become quite poor at the game from not playing for ages, some of it's coming back now but I don't care if I platinum this one or not it's very enjoyable to unwind with.

 

Good luck to those who plan on grafting this month. Dunno about going that route but I do want to reconnect with my Occultruism. Got a build up of smaller titles I keep thinking about but have yet to play & tons of great stuff coming in the post.
