This post has escalated my gosh. Its a trophy for crying out loud. It would have popped whether people wanted it to or not. Yeah you guys put in a lot of work to get the trophy, but its not like the rest of the people who haven't are going to boycott and not play blackout. Just move on. I just read someone say "you dont deserve that trophy" like are you kidding? lmao

I agree. At the end of the day, this was 3archs doing. Be mad at them instead of being upset with those who popped it after the update.

You guys are fickle.

People complain that something is too time consuming and too difficult, then they complain that it's now a lot easier than it was before.

I can't feel sympathy for a lot of you because you guys bought into a multiplayer only game Day 1, and now the way to obtain a certain trophy has changed.

Jesus Christ. All of a sudden you hate Treyarch. But if they were to change back to what it was or made an apology of some sort I will bet anything you whiners would love them.

I hope some of you don't become parents.

I’m just bitter about the trophies unlocking for free. They should have just kept it somewhat the same (unlocking the outfit challenges to get the trophy)

But at the end of the day, what’s done is done. I’m gonna continue kicking boo-tay in blackout and collect all the stuff I can. Just wish the trophies weren’t tied into these lazy routes. I literally had someone on my friend list gifted specialist trophy for joining a game and the zombie characters trophy for buying an in-game dlc microtransaction, Wtf?

I don’t even mind people boosting to unlock trophies, we’ve all done it in some game or another, but damn.. at least have to put SOME effort in, not just log in and drop some dollar-dollar after watching everyone work damn hard for them.

Wait if you buy ultimas Richthofen you get the zombies trophy as well or did he have the other characters except for primis Richthofen and then he get the trophy for buying the dlc one

Considering how rough it can be getting some of these, isn’t it obvious? If a trophy is too hard, then accept its out of your reach or up your game and keep going. The idea of gifting a trophy that’s actually tough to get is an insult when for the first few months people have grinded their asses off to get it. It’s not just a case of RNG and play time, but it’s also a case of skill - seperate from the rest of the game. MP is one thing, but blackout is a whole different ball game. Getting a victory can be rough enough but getting a victory whilst having and item from a RNG loot crate dropped whilst also having 3 temporary perks on you and activating them before you get the win and before they run out.. well..

and that’s just one character, dude.

This!

Having spent the last couple of months with so many people dedicating their time to this and then they give it away for what is essentially more profit is what is wrong with this company’s ethics.

Treyarch used to be the exception, innovators in what was a stale franchise but now it’s literally just about jumping on the band wagon for as much profit as possible.

Firstly, I'd like to say that this is understandable for the anger that @steel6burgh has regarding this issue. Yes it is very unfair for all the players that have indeed grinded this long and really RNG endorsed trophy.

@cHuChO2484 also has very good points as I have emboldened below:

I don't have any complains, is still the easiest of the 3 character trophies IMO. They said that players that already unlocked those characters will obtain free skins so you can brag online how dedicated you are, I wished they increase the spawn rate of the character items because I have more than 60 hours in Blackout mode and I only found 5 character items and only unlocked 2 specialist which in my opinion are the easiest ones. A better option was as soon you find the specific character item the challenges remains active until you unlocked that character, in that way the challenge is still there but still will make you work for it. Oh and did I mention that the other 3 times I found the character items the partners killed me just because they wanted the item too?

There are round about 30 odd characters? And too unlock a single character, you have to do the following:

- Get the chance it spawns (RNG)

- Come across the item (RNG)

- Then proceed to follow the challenges (RNG & Skill)

- You are timed in doing so

- In a Battle Royale

- There are duplicates

And if you fail, that is it re-roll.

There are too many variables which go against you. It doesn't make it impossible, just extremely grindy and requires luck and skill level. I personally hate RNG and luck based stuff, if they had the challenges in the barracks to do like the Dark Ops and other ones, I would have a better time as I am far more in control of the challenge. It's only my capabilities that would hinder me and player base RNG is fair as you always get someone who's better and vice versa.

Just to say, I don't want it dumbed down, I want to be able to even experience the challenges fairly. I went on the game today after many months to get the trophy (cause CBA with these current variables) and I went and won the game too. All while pressing the fucking wrong controls since I'm out of shape lol. But I have had times where I would get the Woods bandana late game and the circle is closing in, I win the game, yet fuck you because of your RNG luck of finding the item too late as you need to fly a helicopter. And restart it.

The challenges should be permanent if they want to keep the RNG of finding it or remove RNG, make them permanent challenges that require the set. Currently it's both and it's tedious to even bother to challenge yourself. This is from someone who had Max Payne 3 Hardcore NYC Minute crash on him on the last mission twice. At least I could choose to do the challenge again.

This^ I remember someone arguing with me that they should be on a game for more than a day or two for the platinum. Yeah fuck off mate go play Mayo then lol.

But we shouldn't be arguing between each other. Treyarch made this decision and it's for profit. Make the microtransaction skins and make the default available so they can use it.

II really hate the RNG in this mode, even with the supposed increase of the item drop rate is still very rare to obtain some items, but others are in the same location such as the juggernog bottle or the letter from emperor are not trouble at all. They should never use RNG in those trophies, instead make people grind for those characters for example: To unlock Alex Mason you need to win 20 blackout games or to unlock Battery get 20 kills with cluster grenades. In that way everytime you get a win or a kill you're getting closer to unlock a character. Yesterday for the first time I found the tainted t-shirt for Alex Mason, I ended up winning the match with my team but I can't reach array because it was outside the circle. I wish they change how to unlock the characters somehow and not just give us for free, is not fair for players that already got them with a lot of effort, time invested and luck, and Im afraid that sooner or later they will end giving the other characters for free.

There is a video on youtube of a crate run around the array area that was made for the sole purpose of unlocking Mason so that when you drop in you can find his shirt fast and be close to the array before the circle starts to close.  Go to youtube and type in white tea shirt crate or supply stash run bo4 and it should pop up.  I found this crate run and method is easiest in duos as are most of the character unlocks that require wins or high placement.

Thanks for the information mate, I also unlocked more characters this past weekend and Im getting more confident that it is possible to unlock them all but I was also trying to get the locket from supply drops and of 16 times I opened up a box just 2 times I received the locket and with no shotguns near me. I think they also must include a shotgun in those boxes when the locket is inside.

Shotguns are literally everywhere in the game. You should have a shotgun way before a supply drop even drops...

That one you're best to just pick one up and hold on to it if you're wanting to go for the locket, try and get SG12 extend mag/barrel and you can just spray at people.

I never planned to Platinum the game, I just bought it to have fun and I decided to see if that trophy does pop, and yep. Popped as soon as I landed. I wonder if Treyarch realized what they did or even care.

I believe that they care or at least, are aware. In my opinion, COD has always made trophies easily obtainable for those who want to really play their games. None of the COD games and I've platinumed all of them on PS3, just 4 games on PS4 left coz I don't have PS4, were too difficult. I think that they had realized that the platinum in this game is TOO much, before the patch I would say it was harder to get even more than BO3 on PS3 which was a pain in the ass thanks to all those MP shit you had to grind, so they made the platinum easier. At the moment, around 120 people or maybe less, I can't tell for sure, are "screwed" by the developers because they had to complete the platinum in a long and harder way. But that can be said about every single game where glitches are discovered that make platinum easier. I don't believe that they should be angry at Wipeout HD or some other game that the patches made the game easier/harder. Just bad luck. I wouldn't be angry at the developers if I were in this position, I would just be mad that I didn't wait for some exploits to be found. Nowadays almost all games are unfinished and require patches to cover up some glitches or exploits. Trophy hunters in specific are more aware of that than the regular gamers. I only see a lesson for all of us here - don't throw yourself up on a game and waste pointless hours for trophies in the first month after the release, just wait for a little and see how it goes. Then you can play. Better be safe than sorry.
