After seeing multiple people play the Arkham games, I'm glad I got the chance to try them out myself. A fairly easy game both to learn and to play with the only real problem I had was when the Titans were added. Not that the Titan fights were all that hard, but trying to divide my attention between the charging Titans and the attacking goons on the hardest difficulty was what was getting me. Other then that, a great game that I would recommend to anyone whose still on the fence.

All I have left is doing the challenges, getting a 40 combo, and doing every move in one combo. I seem to be having some trouble doing the later 2, but I should be able to do the challenges easily. Probably not going to jump into City right after, expectantly since the Perfect Freeflow trophy is harder in that one, though I'm really curious on how much better it is by making it open world.

 

Not much to say about Caveman Warriors. I had fun with it, with the only thing I hated was the third level and the pits killing me in Arcade mode. Not a need to get, but a fun game to play if you need a short co-op game.

I really like Ratchet & Clank series, it will be one of my favorite of all time but I really, really f**king hate doing platinums in these games. It's my third platinum from the series, and I own every single game so there is still plenty to do, but the trophies are sometimes so annoying that I really have to force myself into completing these games, despite loving them.

Finally 150th platinum! I really wanted to play this game but its price in Poland was so high that I had to let it pass until one of my friends has finally bought it and I could borrow it from him :D. Fun game to play, not so much to platinum. I feel like this game can be compared to Saints Row or Deadpool, take out the humor and craziness from the game and you're left with something almost unplayable due to its dullness and repetitiveness. But because of the said things, you can accept the mediocre and boring gameplay to experience what fu*ked up things the authors have prepared for you. And in that sense, the game is worth to play.

I must say I'm glad that a Civ game is finally on PS4. I tried playing Civ 5 on my shitty 8 year old laptop and it crashed so hard it switched off after about 30 minutes. I'll be sure to grab Civ 6 when I'm distinctly less poor. Until then I'll play Civ 4, given it doesn't make my laptop harakiri.

...Finally! A platinum update! I finished off LEGO Jurassic Park this week and actually really enjoyed doing so. I was quite busy at the weekend so didn't make much progress otherwise unfortunately, but since I couldn't sleep last night I ended up playing a bit of Spyro the Dragon and reckon that could very well be the next completion to aim for. Also, per the announcement from @MidnightDragon I am taking the opportunity to drop Beach Buggy Racing - I can't face playing that rubbish right now.. ? This challenge is far from unachievable yet!

Time for a tired Monday morning update, I have my coffee, my water and my brain is slowly using the two to wake up.

I haven't posted here for a while and there is a single reason for it - Death Stranding. I feel like it's given me a Death Stranding of my own because this game has eaten my time and focus completely since I started playing. I'm about to cross the finish line though - I'm done with the beast of a main story and now all I need to do is max out my connection with two final outposts (known as 'preppers' for anyone not playing yet). Then it's a bit of 'admin' as I call it nowadays - read some logs, find remaining collectibles (should be fast now my zip-lines are set and road network is complete), make one of everything etc. 

 

This game is really divisive and it seems to be provocative enough for people to debate and argue. After sinking 130 hours so far, I think this is an honest to goodness masterpiece of originality and one of the most relevant stories of our current age. Kojima is really feels like he is making a few key statements about how he sees the world and some of its arguable problems and trying to get us to confront some realities in our own society. I don't want to spoil the last 5 or 6 chapters, because revealing who people are actually changes the meaning of the story and world you play in.

 

The character that Mads Mikklesen plays has an amazing story and I think even years on from playing this, i'll remember that part the most.

Not a fat lot for me to report back as game time has been so limited lately. Once it gets to the evening I am just not feeling staying up to play right now, hoping Xmas can give me a new lease of life on that front.

 

Played a bit of Watch Dogs 2 which I am getting into now. It is very different from the first one story wise etc but still good nonetheless. Also9 updated my MK X trophies from last week I believe, so much to do on that one. Hoping to get a few evenings where I can just put an hour or so in and make up some time.

After finishing the mammoth that was FF15 Comrades DLC, I understand why they took this and made it is own game.  It very much felt like a full game.  Complete with good combat, and interesting crafting system, and what I assume is a fun multiplayer component.  I actually enjoyed this section quite a bit more than I thought I would.  The weapon crafting is fun, with cool homages to older games, the fighting is solid, the missions and difficulty curve are all solid.  If I had one complaint, it would be that eventually you optimize out any of the challenge with a high enough level and optimized gear, but that's really my only complaint about the gameplay.  The trophies for this dlc are a bit grindy, 999999 kwatts is kind of annoying, but you can unlock an NPC who will sell it in game which is nice and grinding for the weapon you need this probably get there without to much time investment. Another one that took awhile was the lvl 99 chocobo, but I think this one was more annoying because the guide wasn't super clear about what you needed to do.  

 

Otherwise, I actually got to start the main game.  I haven't done to much of the story, just the prologue (if you can call it that), and chapter 1 along with some of the monster hunts and a sidequest or 2.  The main game seems solid so far, but I'm not deep enough to be extremely invested in the story, though after the end of chapter one, I want to see where it goes.  The game seems to be made up of several minihubs where you can fill in part of your map, do side quests in the area, buy weapons, and gather and complete quests.  An gameplay loop which while still fun, is a bit used but again we aren't very far in so lets see how it goes. 

 

Didn't really play a lot of Superbeat Xonic this week, but I expect to get back to it soon.

Hey everyone!

 

Another update from me. I got the platinum and 100% in the Messenger. Took me longer then I expected but I enjoyed the game a lot. It was not extremely hard by any means but it has some frustrating parts for getting collectibles. The free DLC they added to the game I also enjoyed. Like I said before I really like the humor they use in the game and also the retro jokes they make. 

 

I started playing Death Stranding, but I’m not that far yet. So I don’t have much of an opinion on it yet. I do think the game looks really beautiful so far, but that’s all I can say. 

 

Im not sure which game I’ll play now. I’m torn between Death Stranding and Dragon Quest but I haven’t decided yet ?

Finally got to InFamous 2, and have now beaten every game in the series! ...Not 100%'d, though, because First Light and I do not get along.

Loved the game aside from the good ending, and I can see why it was so popular. Definitely some huge QOL improvements over the first one, like the platforming being less wonky and a beautiful shard radar that'll point you towards the closest you're missing.

Great writing, and kudos for Nix in general - her character gave me the creeps.

 

Enjoyed BGE more than I thought I would, though I definitely wish the deus ex machina that popped up at the end had been hinted at more. Enjoyable but a little strange, hopefully the sequel proves to be as good or better.

Ran into a visual glitch on the final boss that covered the top ~1/3 of my screen for the entire "reverse" portion. That was fun, but at least I had a bunch of healing items.

 

 

 

Hoping to get to Dragon Age shortly, and Adventures of Mana towards the end of next month.

 

May have to use some swaps. Missed Until Dawn and Danganronpa last month, and since they seemed fitting for Halloween, most of my motivation has gone with it. Then there's The Order, which I can't seem to get into whatsoever. No idea what I'd replace them with, though.

Shorter update this time. No additional fully completed games yet but I did finish up my first playthrough (good karma) of Second Son and I did complete the main "story" of Crash Bandicoot: Warped so far. I'm really enjoying both of these titles, each of them in its own way.

 

Crash Bandicoot: Warped

The crash games are just so incredibly addictive. As soon as I start going for a certain gem or relic or whatever, i just can't stop untill I actually get it, which often resulted in hours of frustration, especially with the the 2 previous games. Crash 3 seems to be quite a bit easier overall though. None of the levels, apart from future tense perhaps, has really been that difficult to complete and the gold relic times do not seem to be as tight as they could have been imo. The abundance of vehicle levels makes it possible to knock out a considerable amount of them without the necessity of any powers as well which is nice, even though I actually didn't like most of these levels at all. 

 

Left to do:  Earn 42 gems (currently at 38)  Earn 30 gold/plat relics  (currently at 16)  Shoot the imposter (will need 100% for this, currently at 80%)  Get 99 lives (currently at 46)

 

Infamous Second Son

Absolutely loved this one as well. Playing this one alongside the Crash games couldn't have been more perfect since everytime the frustration tends to get the better of me I just switch to this game to relax and enjoy life. Everything just feels so smooth and great while playing this, whether you're shooting smoke out of your fingers, wallrunning up on to the tallest buildings of Seattle or holding your controller sideways to spray a DUP agent taking a sh*t on the wall. Infamous is becoming more and more one of my favourite series of all time since playing these games is just nothing more than pure fun to me. I had it a bit difficult to find some actual motivation for this challenge at first but as soon as I started playing First light a couple weeks back I actually started to have fun again. Let's hope this feeling will endure!

 

Left to do: basically just complete the story with full evil karma which will get me:  Contempt  revenge  Dominance  Rebellion (complete the game with evil karma)

Been thinking about which game to play next and if I wanted to make use of any of the swaps and/or drops. Guess I'll probably continue with Crack in time after these two titles and in terms of swaps/drops I guess I'm going to leave things for now. I look to forward to all my listed games even though I have to admit that some of their trophy lists have me a bit worried. Pretty sure completing them all before the deadline is a bit too ambitious but I'm not going to give up just yet.

And on top of that I've done the GoatMMO DLC for Goat Simulator (not part of my backlog challenge) AND played a little bit TPS with Fnee again after all of that.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season - Grand finale of the series. Speaking of the story itself, I rather enjoyed it, though the episodes were fairly uneven. Some lengthy moments and some annoying characters, but I liked the setting, and I liked the ending. And it's nice to see that whole Clem's story got a proper ending. Trophy wise it was different from previous games, they added collectibles and some misc and missable trophies, which was a nice touch. All in all, its was a good game and if i have to rate each season it would be like this S1 - S4 - S2 - S3.

 

WRC 6 - Nothing much to say about it. It was better then the previous games with better graphics and less frame drops but getting the platinum was so boring. They added some kind of in-game accomplishments which made this platinum unnecessary long.

 

That's it for now. Not so sure what to play next...

Same, it makes my solo gaming challenge much more social. I love the passion you guys have for games and the challenge. It helps keep me going  

 

Mid week update: I am on annual leave so I've snuck in a good 20 hours this week already. Much of that has been spent on the amazing (and not at all watered down for console) Civilisation 6, though I have came back to Atelier Ryza as I'd like it to be completed this week. I hung on for the DLC release but it seems the new stories don't have trophies tied to them after all. I am into the post game content, just a bit of grinding really. Seems a lot nicer to finish than other atelier games.

Death Stranding is hands down my Game of the Year with Control and Resident Evil 2 coming a close joint second. I thought this game was an absolute pleasure to play. But over 150 hours of it played and I'm ready for something else to play. I was going to move to MediEvil or Yakuza 4, but i'm hearing good things about Star Wars, so i'm going to be starting that from Friday evening onwards. Can't wait!

OMG, We've got ourselves an update!

Somehow I managed to earn some trophies yesterday in a game that is on my list

First of all though, I have been playing a lot, and I mean a lot of Fishing Sim World. The fishies in that game have taken over my life  
Also I bought Strange Brigade and I've teamed up with @Madmardigan_88 to play through it in co-op mode. That game is so much fun, it's pretty much just waves of enemies coming at you at certain spots you have to kill before you can progress. Add some puzzles in there and a hilarious narrator and you have Strange Brigade!

BUt anyway we're getting sidetracked... Here's the actual update:
 

I decided to go back to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Last time I've played it was 3rd of November. I completely forgot everything about the campaign and didn't even know I was already at mission 9 out of 15. After finding out there were only fifteen missions, it was time to get my first campaign run done! I can't really say I was impressed by the story, in fact I couldn't care less and just wanted to finish it. My memory of old Call of Duty games is that they were always like crazy rollercoaster rides. Each major event topping the last one. And I think that's what I missed...(stuff like the eiffeltower going down in MW3) On the other side, the major improvement was the sound of the weapons and explosions making the experience way more intense. I also really enjoyed using the Nightvision goggles and think the game looked at it's best while using those. Anyway to make a long story short, I finished the campaign and got some trophies along the way! And now that I did and typed this little update, I want to go back to it today and try and get the trophies I missed done and start with my Veteran run.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI (22% - 34%)

Multiplayer still isn’t working, even 6 days after release, no update from 2K just a generic "we're working on it". At least the Switch got the "Hot Potato" mode included in an extra patch for the game, can't really call it Hot Seat if you have to give the whole freaking console to the other player.

 I’ve cleaned out all victory conditions this week. Now I’m trying to do the leader specific things. On my way I’m hoping to get the more RNG-like trophies

Bit of a personal touch at the end. Even though I’m currently very motivated to make this parody thing in the Sunday Update series and get some overall progress in this challenge I might have to drop out for a few weeks. My grandma is probably going to die before Christmas and even though I don’t have the best relationship with my dad or his parents it breaks my heart to see him this sad and concerned. She's been brought to the hospital yesterday, after a few weeks suffering from her kidneys failing, not drinking much, only eating a bit. Knowing my dad’s luck she’s probably going to die on Christmas Eve, and I’d like to do as much as I can to support him and my grandparents before the time is up. So what I did is doubled my dad’s monthly pay with my own money so he can get a month of unpaid vacation from his job and spend as much time as possible with his parents. They live 6h away so it’s just not possible to drive there on weekends or after work. I’ll probably going to join him soon and gather as much of the family as I can get to have our own little Christmas, on whatever day this might be.
