(EVENT) DIDN'T HALF-ASS IT! A DLC EVENT - 2023

One small addition from getting Party genre trophies in the TrueTrophies Score Challenge. Frobisher Says! was free and the DLC was cheap enough that I used it for a quick 16 party trophies for this week's bonus objective. Got one of the DLCs done and the other I am one trophy away from.

Welcome to the event @wackt1! That is quite an impressive dlc list so far for the year. I have added you to the google sheet now with 33 dlc which shoots you to the top.

 

 

My monthly check will likely happen later this week or early next but with wackt1 joining we just smashed the 500 dlc barrier for the event in 5 months!

Another update from me! I finally cleaned up AC4 Black Flag after over 9 years ? So these are the new completions:

Finally have some new DLC additions to make an update this month. I completed Horizon Forbidden West’s DLC. Ultra Hard on NG+ was a bit harder than the original, but is definitely feasible with upgraded armors/ weapons. Unlike The Frozen Wilds, the Burning Shores DLC weapons weren’t must-haves for Ultra Hard. I recommend playing through Burning Shores in NG+ so you can earn tokens while completing the new content.

It's been absolute ages since I posted an update, but life has been a bit all over the place for me. I've been gaming plenty, but just not feeling social. I need to crawl out from under my rock and celebrate the few DLCs I managed to complete in the meantime. Since my last post, I completed the following:

 

 

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores. I came back to Horizon a whole year after earning the platinum to play the newly released story expansion. Burning Shores maintains the feel and look of the base game, but presents its story in a nice, small package. The campaign is pretty short, but there is enough exploration to do to justify the full price for the DLC. The final boss is actually more exciting and fun to fight in the expansion, so if you enjoyed Forbidden West well enough, Burning Shores is totally worth to dive into. The trophy list is pretty straightforward too.

 

Horizon Forbidden West: New Game+. After shaking the rust off in Burning Shores, it only made sense to jump straight into NG+. I do not generally enjoy the mode, because I don't like to replay the game so soon after completing it once, but Sony seems to insist on adding these to all their games. I have to say that not having Ancient Armor this time around makes NG+ of Forbidden West much more challenging. I was fully upgraded and had the best gear, and I still felt the heat in a lot of encounters. The cauldron in the Gemini mission was especially brutal for me. Contrary to my expectations, however, I managed to defeat the final boss on my second attempt after figuring out its moves. 

 

The trophy list is somewhat unusual in this DLC. In addition to the usual "finish the game" and "finish the game on the hardest difficulty", there is also a trophy for getting all NG+ cosmetics. Those you must buy with in-game currency, which is awarded to you for certain activities. That one trophy took a little too much effort for my liking.

 

 

Bassmaster Fishing 2022: Lake Seminole. Bassmaster Fishing is my "wind down after a long day" kind of game. I love finding a good fishing spot and just turning off my brain for a couple of hours. Lake Seminole is an expansion very similar to the base game. "Catch all species of fish" and "Catch 250 fish at the location" are very familiar tasks, but the DLC also adds a challenge of catching 100 bass. Not that difficult, if you have your gear and spots figured out.

 

 

Bassmaster Fishing 2022: Lake Jordan. I found Lake Jordan a lot harder than other locations I attempted. The lake feels like a ghost town, very sparsely populated by fish. I must say this is the only location where I did not establish a single hotspot. There were a few spots that yielded me somewhat reliable catches, but those dried up pretty quickly and depended greatly on the water temperatures. The most challenging task was to catch 50 catfish. For comparison, the base game asks to catch fifty across ALL locations. That gives you a clue how plentiful those can be. Not the most fun lake, to be honest.

So like I have a question about Killing Floor 2. The game got an update for DLC 3 with 1 single trophy and it looks like its getting at least 2 more trophies this October and December. If I complete the single trophy and return my completion to 100%, does DLC 3 count towards my completion or do I have to wait until December?

If I remember correctly from last year, it will count once for this event.

If they add another trophy to the same DLC3 pack and you submitted it before, it will still count as that 1 previous submission (makes sense).

So like I have a question about Killing Floor 2. The game got an update for DLC 3 with 1 single trophy and it looks like its getting at least 2 more trophies this October and December. If I complete the single trophy and return my completion to 100%, does DLC 3 count towards my completion or do I have to wait until December?

If they add another trophy to the same DLC3 pack and you submitted it before, it will still count as that 1 previous submission (makes sense).

HusKy is correct. It will count as one dlc completed if you did it before the extra trophy was added. It will count even if you are not doing the new trophy but will not count as an extra new dlc completion if you finish the new trophy.

So yeah that is a lot!  Added every game's DLC on my current trophy list!  Hope that's ok and I don't know if New Game Plus and update packs count.  If the wall of text is not ok I can fix that!  Doubt I'll finish a majority of this before the end of the year as my priority is the Summer Challenge currently!

 

No worries you are welcome to join anytime. Many of us have backlogs of games just as crazy. haha

 

I went back through your game completions for 2023 and found 4 dlc that already count and added you to the google sheet tracker. Hopefully I didn't miss any others as there was a lot to sift through since January. If I did just let me know.
