Popular Post MidnightDragon
Last update this weekend. Dragon Age II Dragon Quest Builders II (replacement TBA) Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition Wonder Boy Collection-90=>100% March 18 Swaps used-1/3 I got the platinum for Wonder Boy Collection today. Really enjoyed it. Took me a little longer than I hoped, but still went smoothly enough, I think. Now trying to decide what's next. The plat shot was a black screen, so didn't include it. I'm also going to swap out Dragon Quest Builders II. I've decided to leave my next plat to a Discord poll...I hope I didn't just make a huge mistake. Popular Post Vulpine9Tails
It's Saturday update time: 1. Marvel's Avengers - 4% 2. Hogwarts Legacy - 5% 3. Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning - 0% ***SWAP**** Marsupilami Hoobadventure - 0% -> 100% I decided to swap Kingdoms of Amalur because I think it's dumb that it is a remaster without the DLC included and I don't see myself buying it during this challenge. Plus it's kind of on the long side and don't want to rush this one as I know I will probably enjoy it more. Instead I randomly decided to start playing Marsupilami and was very pleasantly surprised. It's like baby Donkey Kong/Crash Bandicoot with a few hints of real challenge towards the end. It also has free DLC. Take that, Kingdoms of Amalur. So that is what I swapped out this time. 2/3 swaps used up now. I am hoping to also finish Cooking Mama Cookstar tonight or tomorrow. The problem is it's on the boring side for sure. And some of the timing is bullshit. We will see what happens. I am also sitting on quite a few easy/short games that I've just been putting off for no real reason but maybe this week I will get with the program. Edit: I finished Cooking Mama. It did not take as long as I thought it would, though it was still boring. the deviled eggs aren't actually as bad as the forum post on here says, as long as you use the touch pad to peel the eggs. Using the analog stick is just not possible in the given time. Hope everyone is having fun. Edited March 19, 2023 by Vulpine9Tails
Popular Post viech54
Update #2 Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart: 0% A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV: 0% Final Fantasy VIII: 0% Nightmares from the Deep 2: The Siren's Call: 0% Final Fantasy XIV: 0% -> 7% -> 22% Final Fantasy XIV: Cleared the ARR main story (the only story-related trophy in the game) and synthesized 1000 items as an alchemist. That's all for now. Really like the game, but that's just how progress is with this game. It takes a long time. I'm making good progress towards clearing 100 instanced raids and the 1000 levequest trophy (that takes almost six months). Maybe I should play PvP once for the trophy.
Popular Post neospoon
Update #1 It took me a while to get this challenge started, but I finally have a small update. Other games got in the way, Im looking at you Borderlands and F1 2016! - République - 1% > 15% - Gravity Rush 2 - 15% - Rage - 12% - Metal Gear Solid 4 - 7% - The Last of us Part 2 - 2% République After getting the platinum for F1 2016 I decided to give République a go. I’ve tried so many times to start this game but never really got into it… until now! République is a stealth game in which you take control of surveillance camera’s to guide Hope, the main character of this story. It’s a very interesting concept and it works pretty well. When I first started up the game, I couldn’t help but notice some of the voice actors that worked on this. To name a few, David Hayter, Jennifer Hale and no other than mister Howling Mad Murdock, Dwight Schulz! (Yes the guy from the A-team) It’s a slow paced game but everything I need right now. Pretty sweet to finally see the percentage on this game go up after 7 years! Hopefully I can finish this game in about a week’s time. I’m not entirely sure about the other games I picked for this challenge, but we’ll see as I go if something needs replacing. Have fun playing and keep the updates coming! Threw a few in that should be relatively quick, and if all goes well I'll start adding in some PS3 games that have been in my backlog since forever. ? Will likely juggle most of these with Death Stranding. Death Stranding (PS4) - 24% Mafia II (PS4) - 0% The Complex (PS4) - 0% A Plague Tale: Innocence (PS4) - 0% Hitchhiker (PS4) - 0% The Town of Light (PS4) - 0% First update! Death Stranding (PS4) - 24% > 37% Mafia II (PS4) - 0% The Complex (PS4) - 0% > 68% A Plague Tale: Innocence (PS4) - 0% Hitchhiker (PS4) - 0% > 100% The Town of Light (PS4) - 0% ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Death Stranding After around a month-long break from it, I feel I've finally got to grips with a lot of the mechanics, even though I'm still early game and still need to unlock a lot of things that will make delivering things easier, namely vehicles. The road to platinum will be a long one, plus nearly all the trophies are bronze so progress is extra slow, but I'm really liking how almost every action you make feels like an achievement, even something as simple as building a road or getting from A to B. It almost makes me want to keep a diary of everything I've done in each session! I also love how much the game encourages you to help out other players despite never actually seeing anyone else, only the structures they've built. Think it'll be the last one on my list that I'll finish but I'm not in a big rush atm. The Complex I had this recommended to me by a friend - it's an FMV (full-motion video) interactive game akin to something like Erica or the ones that were popular in the 90s. The story didn't blow me away (you're a scientist trying to save the life of a bio-weapons terrorist, with a little romance mixed in), but it's good value for a cheap and breezy plat. 8 playthroughs are needed to get everything, mostly because of the different endings, which might sound really tedious, but technically you could get the whole thing done in 2-3 hours as it allows you to skip previously-watched cutscenes. I just have a thing about liking Amnesia being my fastest milestone so I'll wait a little bit longer before wrapping things up. Hitchhiker The last of the updates is the one I probably have the least to say about. Loved the graphics; very similar art style to Firewatch or Road 96 (highly recommend both of these if you don't mind a walking sim), but this was just okay to me overall. The narrative has you hitchhiking with around 6 different drivers while there's this ongoing mystery about yourself and an argument you had with your girlfriend and whether what you're experiencing is even real. Not bad or anything, but not one I'm likely to remember. Trophy-wise though, there are a few puzzles but I got everything without having to look up a guide, so that's a plus! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thinking the next game to juggle with Death Stranding will be something a bit longer than those two, maybe A Plague Tale, then I'll see about adding something else.
Popular Post be_minor
Finally have my second game knocked off the backlog. I never owned a Sony system before PS4, so I decided to check out some of the classics from PS+. Platformers aren’t my favorite genre and the dated controls were frustrating at times; suffice to say, it took me longer than the recommended 8 hours to complete. I think I might be temporarily done with trying the classics out unless they get a proper remake. Next up on the list: I’ll probably give Biomutant some love. Even though I don’t have high hopes, I enjoy open-world exploration and collectathons. Ape Escape Biomutant - 1% Child of Light Gravity Rush Remastered - 4% Hogwarts Legacy Omno Spiritfarer The Artful Escape
Popular Post Darling Baphomet
Finished my first game of the event, Mundaun! Lovely, atmospheric little horror game (more just bizarre and creepy, as there's only one jumpscare throughout) that I was introduced to thanks to Grimbeard (Youtube game essayist I enjoy) doing a review of it. Also been working on Rainbow Billy: Curse of the Leviathan, and I think I'm nearing 2/3 of the way through the main story - hopefully collectibles don't take too long after. Have also made significant progress in Creed (goddamn workout, that game is) and should be able to finish it in one or two more sessions, so maybe a week or a bit over with how long it takes me to recover between sessions. Would also like to add World War Z and Grid Legends to my list. I'm sorry you didn't like the game. Anyways, no updates for a long time - I am going dark around 3 AM and won't be back with updates until either Friday evening(if I am not jet lagged) or Saturday morning, as I am going to fly to Orland and go to DISNEYWORLD! Kidding again! I'm not paying $10,000 for a park ticket. Actually I'm going to the competitor, Universal Studios, to visit the replica of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley so I can get into the Harry Potter mood to play Hogwarts Legacy. I had intended to actually go to Disneyworld so I could get the Disney vibe for Kingdom Hearts, but this is a good replacement as it gives me an excuse to play Hogwarts Legacy and work on the platinum. Wish me luck that nothing bad happens on the trip like, you know, the airplane crashes on a desert island. I'm definitely sure I won't be rescued by a very cute female genie like Admiral Nelson, I'll probably be dead. Third time the kid, I am sure nothing bad will happen, fingers crossed. Since I won't have any computer access(if I do get Internet it'll be on my dad's tablet or my phone and will mostly be Youtube videos), I will not be able to come to the forums from 4 AM (because the plane takes off at 5:53 AM and we have to leave for the airport two hours in advance to check in our luggage - we're only taking carry-ons and one cargo suitcase, which will have the PS5 in it since it can't be carry-on, my dad was lucky to get a deal on that) until 6 PM on Friday(because our return flight to my home will land at the airport at 5:30 PM and we'll be stuck in airport for a bit to get our luggage back, then I have to get home and unpack), so the computer will be turned off for those five days therefore any PMs I get or replies I get will have to wait. But I do intend to take my Vita and import some camera shots onto my blog to show on this forum.

Popular Post Buff_Cupcake
(Quick) Update 2: After a nice long St. Patrick's Day weekend I managed to knock The Evil Within 2 off my list, make some progress on Destiny 2 and get most of my Master difficulty run on Thief complete. The Diablo 4 beta was a complete write off for me. A write off, as in, a complete failure. I tried regularly throughout the weekend to log in but Blizzard were apparently having loads of login issues specifically with console players. So I ended up just giving up. In other news, I gave Powerwash Simulator a bash on my friends Steam Deck and I was so taken with it, I bought it and am using my second swap to add it to this challenge. OG Resident Evil 4 is being removed, but I will absolutely go back and play that classic at another point this year. Popular Post rjkclarke
Update #1 Observation (PS4) 0% Type:Rider (PS4) 0% > 100% ✅ Greedfall (PS4) 0% Yooka-Laylee (PS4) 0% Dreamfall Chapters (PS4) 0% Silence (PS4) 0% I am Setsuna (PS4) 0% Games Completed 1/7 Swaps Used 1/3 Well then, I am finally off to the races with my first completion - although strictly speaking I did this nearly two weeks ago, but I didn't have time to post about it after I did it, so I guess that's what I'm doing now. I could have started my list a bit sooner, but I ended up getting sidetracked finishing WWE2K22 from the last backlog challenge, then attacked my backlog a little more by nailing down the final few trophies in Warframe, so I was pretty happy with all of that progress actually. So if any of you haven't played Type:Rider before, then I totally recommend it - it's short it's sweet, it's got a decent amount of challenge in one level in particular too, if you have a similar amount of platforming skill to me.... Which to be perfectly real is not a whole lot, it might give you a little trouble anyhow. It's a very interesting little game, with a slightly educational twist too, and if - like me - you're a little bit of a word-nerd, then you'll enjoy reading through some of the information that the collectibles provide, about where some of the different fonts used in printing originated from..... Yes..... Yes I am a dork.... ? The comic sans secret level is hilariously unusual too, with some hilarious use of sound design..... I think, as you can tell, I'd massively recommend this one, if you can get it for a decent price - as the game is only likely to take about five hours of your time at the most. Anyway..... I might have busted out my first swap because.... as Edmund Blackadder once reiterated to Baldrick "We're not at home to Mr Cockup"...... Seems like a strange thing to say, but...... I actually indeed AM at home to Mr Cockup, because I added Sayonara Wild Hearts to my challenge list without actually owning it.... So, erm.... silly me? ...... I've replaced it with Yooka-Laylee anyway, and if it ends up going on sale, I'll probably throw it back on the list depending on how well I'm doing, completions wise. So I guess as I'm trying to juggle a few events, and tackle some stuff on my backlog that is too high for this event at the same time, I guess I'll try and manage how I do that by dipping in and out of here on the regular.... I'm still reading along though, as always and it's always great to read about all of your progress, so keep that up! Popular Post StilRh
Looks like Plats are back on the menu, boys! This week I platinumed Catan and The Forest. The former was easy, the later a real pain that involved jumping through all kinds of hoops (leaving console on all night, rubber banding my controller etc). I enjoyed both though. I made a little progress in Hogwarts Legacy as well. On the side, I've got a few more online trophies for Red Dead Redemption 2 but the magic is starting to run out now, I'm finding all but logging in and keeping my daily chain going a chore. I also splurged on Anno 1800 as I love age of steam empire/city builders. I might add this to my list in the coming weeks. This week I will 100% be getting Resident Evil 4. Before then I'll chip away at my listed games or maybe start Monster Sanctuary? I've also reinstalled Medievil as I rage-unistalled this some time ago and I saw a thread come up about working around the bug I struggled with. Popular Post Fanatixa1
Hi everyone, Here's an update from me. I've added and completed the Artful Escape. Been wanting to play it and during the weekend decided to start it. I was craving a story driven shorter game and I enjoyed this game quite a lot. The story is a bit crazy but I enjoyed it and also liked the music in the game. The platinum is short and easy. took me only a few hours. I played more God of War Ragnarok. I'm still working on the collectibles and finishing the side quests. This game is really long tho. I'm still enjoying it, but hoping to finish it soon too. There's still more then 50% of the trophies to get tho, so lets see. I started playing Dead Cells again and making good progress too. There's an assist mode which makes it a lot easier and I must admit I'm using it. Otherwise this game will take me at least 100 more hours. Like this I should be able to get the platinum soon. Will also try to complete all the DLC. Have a good week everyone! 1. The Artful Escape 0 --> 100% 2. God of War Ragnarök - 35% --> 47% 3. PowerWash Simulator - 38% --> 41% 4. Dead Cells - 32% --> 49% 5. Block-a-Pix Deluxe • EU - 32% --> 38% 6. Hogwarts Legacy - 2% Swaps 1/3

I thought in my head quick 10 mins each day, knock out a couple of gold and on to something else. As it turns out I am really out of practice at this now so I have spent all my time on it trying to just hit silver targets!!! Managed to finally get a gold last night so I will just settle for quick silvers as I get better at it so I don't throw the control across the room. Popular Post Heather342
Update #2 Hi everyone! I'm back from my travels and ready to get back into this backlog challenge. I came back from Barcelona last Wednesday, but then almost immediately a friend wanted help via shareplay to do the Babel towers on Catherine Full Body, it was an offer I couldn't refuse as I love playing Catherine ? So that was another few days away from my own games, but now I'm back and ready to go! So over the weekend I played Spiderman. I've been on a bit of a Marvel/Superhero burnout recently, so I was initially reluctant to play this game. But I'm glad I did, this game is extremely well made, the story throughout is fantastic and the gameplay is super slick and fun. Couldn't put it down and flew through the rest of the story, got the plat and finished the Turf Wars DLC. I'm part way through the Silver Lining DLC now, I should be able to finish that up today. Then it's just one more playthrough on the hardest difficulty in NG+ for the 100%. Once Spiderman is done then I'll be back to Legend of Dragoon. After talking with a friend in Discord about my eye strain issues in the VR2, we narrowed down that it's most likely my glasses interfering with the eye tracking that's causing the problem. So I made myself a contact lenses appointment for 2 weeks time and hopefully once I'm wearing lenses again that'll help. Then I can go back to climbing mountains and admiring the view with ease ? Keep up all the great work everyone, and I'll catch you next week ? StilRh
@MidnightDragon Catan was good. I first discovered Catan through xbox live arcade and so I compare every other Catan experience to this... Initially I found some the art choices jarring (uncanny valley portraits, a weird semi-realistic, semi-minature colony peices on the game board, felt too 'busy' not like the 'clean' XBLA version) and I would have liked a few things I've seen in other digital versions of Catan - a turn/dice log, custom rulesets, option to speed up AI turns etc. It was easy to move past these things and appreciate the game play. The AI was predictable but not pants-on-head silly, and in a few games it had me genuinely beat. I hope they'll use the engine to add the expansions as I've not had much experience with these.

I enjoyed the game, but you are right the grind for the platinum was killer. I enjoyed it too and normally I have nothing against a good grind, but it felt as if the developers tried to make the grinding progress as slow and tedious as they could on purpose. For example: Why have I level up my smithing skill to max. level and waste (a lot of) money and materials on it when the process to get one weapon from rank 1 to rank 10 is long and expensive enough on its own?
