Finished my second pink game!

 

 

Her hair is actually more red than pink in the game, but we judge this based on the thumbnail and that's pink enough for me.

 

Really fantastic game. Was surprised by how well the combat played. Granted, there are some very cheap, bastardly tactics that you can use and that the enemy can use on you which makes it feel a bit off-balanced, but overall, very unique for an RPG and very fun.

 

I will also say that the story is pretty cool and all said in rhyme which was actually super sick. I absolutely loved it and low key, kind of hope this gets a sequel someday!

 

Onwards to Twisted Metal 2!!!

My completion of Super Stardust Portable is counted as pink, despite the fact that the game could only be counted as orange. I hope this inaccuracy is corrected as soon as possible.

Finished up Moving Out 2 earlier in the week. It would count for either, so I'm gonna hold off choosing 🌸 or 🧡 for now, so whatever I complete next can put me at one on each side.

 

Sadly the other game I finished this month (so far!), Bleach: Brave Souls, doesn't have Ichigo orange on the thumbnail.

I'm throwing it under pink for now so we can get it on the board. We can change it later if needed but I think it only matters if you care about that type of thing. I don't think the number of orange or pink has anything to do with the badges this year (from what I heard, subject to change).

I'm back with my checks spreadsheet 5th orange and 7th game overall with Twisted Metal 2!

 

 

I'm not going to lie, for a PS1 game, the comic-styled cutscenes for this game are pretty sick. 

 

I feel like this game definitely played better than the first game and the maps were pretty cool, but I definitely think Dark Tooth was much harder to beat than Minion on the first game.

 

My tips for this (in case anyone else here is thinking of doing it cough cough @Starrk_01 cough cough)

 

Play normally the first time then skip to Dark Tooth every other time (this will reset yourselves to 3 lives).

 

First phase: Use the underpasses as cover and unload on them as he comes towards you. If your character has a good special, be sure to use it! Avoid the freeze and drive past him and refuel on health and missles. Ideally, you took 40% of his health and can heal up back to 75% after recovering.

 

Once you're stocked up, try and have a remote bomb on you and do the same thing. Unload under an overpass and then charge him and try to get him with the bomb. If you die, it's okay, hopefully, he's down to 20% or less.

 

It'll automatically stock you with some weapons charge him and finish him off. As long as you don't die, you're good.

 

Phase 2: stock up on napalm and missiles and sit up on top of the bullet train track. Get him to come over to you and unload. If done correctly, you can kill him in one go. If he kills you, it's not a big deal as long as he's below 50% (which is reall easy to do). Rinse and repeat on your final life to finish him.

 

You can lure him on the train track in the first phase too, but I found that he was a bit more finicky to do so, but if you can do it, it's a decent way to take him out too.

 

Remote bombs are great against him, so is napalm, but YOU need to detonate the bombs for them to be as effective as possible and personally found napalms and missiles more consistent to take him out without the game of cat and mouse and waiting.

and after my co-op partner for both the game, and through life @Redblaziken8 handily pointed out, and got it approved in here as an orange.

 

I'll throw on We Were Here Too as well..... And if you're looking for some co-op goodness for the event, this one absolutely fits the bill, it's a really fun little puzzle game that won't set either of you back more than about five or 6 hours.

Hello again friends, I've managed to achieve an online platinum this time, it's my sixth orange title (after all those Sam & Max games) it's Side Bullet.

 

 

This is a game that I'd only heard about after its delisting, but I am a pathological claimer of free stuff, I already had it. So what is it? It's the a 2D battle royale game that is kinda like Worms Rumble if the map was full of zombies, and if had approximately 0.2 players at any time.

 

The maps are all randomly generated and you can start from any point on the map, this has some pros and cons: you can't learn layouts so everyone's on a level playing field, but it also causes cases where you can be trapped as the map shrinks, as the only path to the safe part of the map can go on a long path through the poisoned path areas that had been timed out earlier.

 

The game is fairly dead, most of the lobbies are full of bots, and I only ended up getting the platinum because I recieved a message from someone wanting help with the "30 Parries" trophy (+10 revives after we did the first) which at this point is fairly impossible with the strict parry timing window and infrequency that the bots use the parryable moves and instead opt for using the guns.

 

There's bosses in the game which drop the "Launcher" weapons which are either the Minigun, Railgun, or Flamethrower and these are way too easy to acquire especially with certain setups. But it does make you feel unstoppable when you earned them, which is fun. 

 

But finally the biggest problem earning the Plat was the "two kills in one" trophy which requires killing... well you know. I have one PS5 so self boosting was a no go, and I hate asking for help; so the mission to get that trophy was a long and arduous exercise of luring bots together whilst looking for a railgun or grenade to do the job, but usually they'd kill each other before my C4 went off. Dr Google told me that there was a sniper that had bullet penetration, and after finding that for the first time I did it right away... so... USE THE GOSHDANG YELLOW SNIPER! SAVE YOURSELF MY PAIN.

 

Oh one more thing I nearly forgot. This game has an amazing tutorial. There's cutscenes and voice acting, it almost tricks you into thinking it'll be a proper single player narrative. Just look at this, it makes it look so much better than it is.

Orange - Car Mechanic Simulator is a PS Extra game I had been meaning to try. It was fun for the most part but can see why the platinum is UR as it gets pretty repetitive after awhile and the long grind to sell cars at the end is an added BS trophy that serves no purpose.

 

 

 

Pink - I started LEGO Movie 2 with my daughter but she ended up doing the majority of the game without me after school while I was still at work. Guess who got to do the boring clean up at the end though once she moved onto another game...

I liked the game, a lot tbh, i loved the aesthetics, music and the art style, the story is pretty solid too, gameplay is fun but to be fair it does get old pretty fast, I do recommend it anyway....

Now is time to play a pink game and it will be something special for me since will be my platinum #250

We will enter this into the spreadsheet tomorrow. While I highly doubt the rarity is going to shoot up from 10% to 80%+ in the next day, the game came out on Oct 17th, which isn't two weeks yet.

Pink #5 - Rush Hour Deluxe - 32.86%

Orange #7 - Minigolf Adventure - 18.64%

 

 

All three were pretty decent. Rush Hour is a digital recreation of a board game I had when I was a kid so there's a bit of nostalgia there, but it's a good puzzle game about moving cars around a grid.

Greak: Memories of Azur is a good 2D platformer. It feels quite nice to control, but the combat is incredibly simple and usually boils down to just getting on top/inside enemies and attacking until they die. I don't think the combat being simplistic detracted from the overall experience; it was still fun to play and the art style is quite pleasing.

Minigolf Adventure is also surprisingly fun for a game that was only 75 cents. Aside from a few wonky physics here and there, it's significantly better than I was expecting.
