LBP 1, 2, 3, Vita and Karting have all had their servers nuked over the last few years for various reasons so outside of the most recent Sackboy game, there are now no more LBP or LBP adjacent titles left with functioning servers.

Nah, you can just install APKs and play them that way

 

Note that the PlayLink PSNP series is missing some games, but the staff refuse to update it for some reason

I add, pedantically, that the plat/s is/are still available if you already had the online stuff done before the shutdown.

It’s disheartening, as I wanted to play LBP3 in the future, but can’t say I’m surprised since the VITA servers for respective games got their servers shut down similar to these events too. Sad news nevertheless…

It's guaranteed that both companies will nuke more servers this year, it's just a matter of when and which ones.

It's technically not shut down, as long as you can still log in, but since the matchmaking servers don't work, and it seems they won't be fixed again, it's impossible to play. That's why they are marked as unobtainable.

Not shocked in the slightest as it was obvious they were not going to fix a server for a 10 year old game plus Sony is lazy, shame they strung us along for 3 months.

Note: This was originally reported on last year by IGN. I just became aware of this because of a recent Facebook post where another development team was saying farewell to them. My apologies. 

 

Publisher/Developer Mimimi Games GmbH (a.k.a. Mimimi Productions) is shutting down. They made The Last Tinker (Delisted in 2023), Desperados III, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun & Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. The only game out of the four that was self-published was Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice was announced last year for PS4 but who knows if that will still be released. For what it's worth, they stated that there games will remain up for sale.

 

If anyone is worried that they will eventually be delisted, Shadow Tactics is currently heavily discounted on PSN until April 25, 2024. Shadow Gambit is also on sale until April 25, 2024 but is still quite expensive. Desperados III & Shadow Tactics are available to play for PS+ Extra members.

It is with a heavy heart that today we have to share the news that Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew will be Mimimi’s final game.

As we look back at our 15-year journey crafting games (and crying about it), we feel grateful for the incredible love and support we received from all of you. We cherished every game we made and feel proud of what we were able to accomplish as a studio.

At the same time, dedicating the past decade and a half of our lives working on increasingly ambitious games took a heavy personal toll on us and our families. After the release of Shadow Gambit we decided it was the right time to prioritize our well-being and to pull the brakes instead of signing up for another multi-year production cycle.

While this means that we won’t start production on a new big game, we will continue to fully support Shadow Gambit. We are already working on a patch across all platforms and have a big content drop planned for later this year, which we are sure you will love just as much as we do!

This also means we will be slowly ramping down the studio over the next few months. We shared this decision with the whole team at an on-site meeting before releasing this announcement.

 

We will be doing everything in our power to support our team, and we are now starting to reach out to our friends in the industry to find suitable new jobs for all Mimimis. If you have open positions and are interested in hiring our amazing talents, please get in touch via [email protected].

Thanks to the recent launch of Shadow Gambit, we are also able to pay out a bonus to all employees to help them during their transition.

It's worth noting they announced their shutdown for personal reasons, because they want to focus on family or personal project, not because of financial aspect. It's their own decision, not a decision forced by someone or something else, so I think it's safe to say their games will be safe (and well, it's not an EA studio so no really need to worry I think).

Out of all of the T2 sports titles with a listed shutdown, this one is the longest at 2 years, 8 months. WWE doesn't even get 2 years which is kinda grim.

That's just April plus the 6 months from the announcement, but it could be late September too, as the announcement on discord was made late March. Assuming they were made at the same time, it would be 5 months something, not 6 now.

With the exception of WWE 2K19 servers. I think they stood up 1,5 or 2 years more than that was scheduled because people were mad at 2k20 which was worst in all his aspects (which lead to 2k21 to be cancelled).
