Love that this game changes its story and the number of enemies in a level when you approach the game differently. Also love that the trophy forces you to play in both high chaos and low chaos since for stealth games I usually try to play stealthy and non-lethally. Decided to play in high chaos first so I can learn the level layout after all enemies are killed. I'm surprised to see how much different the last level is when I'm in a low chaos run vs high chaos. The unique artstyle made this almost 10-year-old game aged pretty well and I think it still looks good today. Also for a game like this the voice actors are surprisingly stacked. Carrie Fisher somehow has a minor role in this game. Platinum is overall pretty easy and straightforward. However I wish Mostly Flesh and Steel trophy is not in this game since I basically only used Blink/Bend Time/Dark Vision and didn't use other abilities due to this trophy in my high chaos run and couldn't use other abilities in my low chaos run. The 2 story dlcs are also not too bad but Dunwall City Trials is a completely different story. When you randomized a lot of things in these challenges it really magnifies the few flaws of this game. Only took a few tries to get By My Hand Alone but really had a hard time when I was going for Daredevil. As for Void Star I feel like if there isn't a glitch to despawn all assassins in expert Bonfires it would be even harder to get 3 stars. In the end I pulled through and I'm somehow the 23rd fastest to 100% this game yayy.

Didn't realize the final target of Kill Cascade is Jessamine until I got the trophy lol. Also Emily freaking out on the result screen is pretty funny.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

 

 

Love the combat in this series, doing perfect dodges and perfect guards is so satisfying, the new traversal mechanics like running up walls and gliding made exploration more fun than ever too.

The story and locations didn't have me as engrossed and awestruck as Ys VIII did so that one is still my favorite, but still a very solid entry in the Ys series ^^

The PS2 version, not remake. Overall it was fun, but man if it weren't for cheats this would've been a pain in the ass. I played through most of the game without the cheats, but with no in-mission checkpoints at all I got tired of dying and having to redo the entire thing. I had one where I died on the final part of getting to the UFO. So much wasted time... the only real annoying things were the missable trophy and needing to follow a guide for that. And the cow race, but I got it second try with cheats on. But it just wasn't fun what so ever to do. 

The humor is fun. It's neat to play a villain sometimes and I think this is a good example of that in a game/series. I wasn't a fan of the UFO sections because you take so much damage and it's hard to tell where anything is sometimes. Especially health drops. But with cheats that issue is gone. 

I had a lot of fun with it. It was a nice game to play with a relatively simple plat. Oh, but the pointless stupid grind for 50k DNA for no reason. You already max everything by that point of the grind, why? Why do games do this? Do they think we just want to keep playing when we've finished all the content? I don't get the mindset behind these decisions. It's not like this is a service game where they sell a bunch of DLC or whatever, where keeping you playing it longer means potentially more money for you. It's a one and done game from two (three now) generations ago. Just annoying. It wasn't "hard" to grind just tedious as hell [Cow BBQ made it easy, 300 every 30s-ish, just mind numbing).

 

edit; saw on some sites that people had issues with crashing, but it didn't crash once for me. I don't know if this was one of those PS2 games that launched with tons of issues and were patched after or what, but it was smooth for me. Other than the final level where there was a load screen to the final boss part that hung and I thought I was screwed, but I pushed 'x' after about 5 minutes and it put me in the game. :/ I don't know what that was about. That was the only real glitch I experienced.

PLATINUM #321 - BUGSNAX (PS4) 

 

Nowadays it's so rare for me to actually love and enjoy everything about a single game but in this case it's totally different. I see no flaws, I see no bad things, just wonderful things. I also love the Bunger is saying BUNGA BUNGA BUNGAHH BUNGAHHHH while he pursues me ?

When I started this game I didn't have many expectations believe me but as soon as I started playing I fell in love. I remember only playing like 20 mins and I already knew this was gonna be a banger. Super fun and original concept. I loved it...

 

It's for gems like this that I'm proud to be a gamer. I'm absolutely loved Bugsnax, everything is so colorful, so fun to explore, so cute... ...and scary.

What to say about this game, though fun in bursts the unfair rubber band, overly aggressive ai makes this a frustrating experience not to mention the insane carkour challenges on nightmare which took me numerous hours to complete. I don't regret I played it but never again lol. I'm definitely proud of the platinum.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection

 

An enjoyable collection of old school TMNT games. I enjoyed almost all the games, but one or two not so much. This was my first time playing the majority of them. Konami has hinted they may release a 2000s collection in the future. I'd be all over that! The fact you can save state and rewind is VERY helpful in many cases and the new enhancements were also a nice touch. My favorite is still Turtles in Time. Definitely would do this again and will once I have a PS5.

Trials Rising

 

I’ve just earned the platinum on my first Trials game.

As a noobie I had to adapt myself to handle the gameplay but after that the game is pretty fun I liked the level design,

there a lot of various tracks and even if you fail over and over, you still feel the margin of progress.

Collectibles weren’t that boring to pick up (I've seen worst), they are like mini-games inside tracks so it’s more enjoyable to do and it feels like secret levels sometime.

So I had a good experience on the game until I had to earn gold on the extreme tracks which was pretty frustrated (Hi Inferno 5).

Nothing impossible but it takes time to improve your skill step by step…

Also, I think that « Two Is Better Than One » is the worst trophy in the list because it forces you to take a subscription to ps+ to play with another player (thank you Ubisoft but not thank you).

Hopefully, I was able to make it by myself with 2 controllers.

 

Anyway, I was able to make it, it was fun to play so I had a good moment (and frustration sometimes) on it as a noobie despite some flaws

like grinding levels to unlock the next tracks for example...

But it was good ride.
