Popular Post Moridin83
# 279 Roombo: First Blood I had never heard of this game prior to yesterday, when I was looking up info on Justice Sucks, which turns out to be the sequel to this little gem. In Roombo, you play as a cute little psychopathic robot vacuum defending your house from burglars. You can hack anything electronic in the hours, dropping fans, short circuiting outlets, blowing up TVs, and generally making a big bloody mess out of any intruders unfortunate enough to cross your path. I described it to a friend as making and then cleaning up the world's goriest Jackson Pollock painting. It's a very short game, you can clear it in an hour or so. But for the $5 price tag, it's tremendously fun. The lack of level variety is a little disappointing, but even so, trying to take a better path to kill everyone quicker, or closer together so clean up is easier (I did mention you have to clean up your mess, right?), adds some replay if you want it. Throw in a linked trophy tile set, which is always fun, and I'd definitely say it's worth your time.

Popular Post Redgrave
#287: Preeminent Goddess - Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin A game about making rice? Have I got the perfect reference for this that I know no one else has ever made before. <--- Clueless This is once again another game I was interested in but it being on PS Extra made it more convenient to play it. I only briefly saw some gameplay of it around the time it came out but I didn't remember too much of it other than the rice farming mechanic. You basically play as the titular character Sakuna who is a goddess that is forced to be on an island with other humans, one of which I believe is a German or Dutch girl but I don't think they ever specifically say that. But it's got a nice cast of characters that mingled well together and I like that Sakuna grows to like them as the story goes on. As mentioned the game features a rice farming mechanic which is simple (depending on the difficulty you pick anyway) but fun and it's a nice twist where you level up through growing rice instead of combat for the most part. It also has some depth to it to where you need to watch the water levels, fertilize the soil with literal crap that you scoop up from the outhouse next to the house, toil the fields, and plant the seeds in a way that the game will measure your spacing with. I don't think I fully understood the spacing but I guess I managed it fair enough that the game deemed acceptable. On top of that there is also drying the rice and other tools that the devs looked into the history of and it really makes you think about how backbreaking making rice is even with more convenient machinery. So I guess the next time I accidentally drop a grain of rice on the floor before making dinner I will think to myself "Damn, some poor farmer probably got crippling back pains and other issues just for me to drop this single grain on the floor." Along with that, it also looks like someone put combat in this rice farming game. It's basically a 2D sort of beat'em up/hack-and-slash kind of thing and there are a lot of abilities you can use which give free range to customization. These abilities are the only thing you really level up in combat and they can be pretty fun to use. Early on some of the levels and bosses might beat you up a bit but once you level up more and get the better gear even the night time difficulty isn't much of an issue. There is also a mini-game where you kill critters named Aphids for another goddess that can also be fun but it also gives you probably the best weapon in the game that gets stronger the more enemies you defeat. The trophies themselves aren't difficult although the ones I think gave me the most trouble were the ones where you had to grow the rice a specific way. It took a few tries especially since the descriptions are kind of vague but it also requires a bit of patience and micro-managing. You also need a lot of stuff for the fertilizer that you will need to use. I also probably wasn't the most efficient either but I managed to get them despite not farming many materials. Other than that nothing in particular is really difficult. There is a post-game dungeon that has 100 floors but with the aforementioned weapon from the Aphid mini-game and if you're at level 50 it's really not hard. Plus there are checkpoints every five floors. The same goes for the Aphid mini-game and I only really struggled with the final five rounds mainly because you have to manage the magic meter some but as long as you use certain moves on a large group of enemies it's not bad. I did read there's a weapon you can make that restores your magic for the Amber (money) you get but I never got the option to make it and apparently no one online ever said how you get the option to either. Overall a pretty good game especially if you like a mix of farming and RPG mechanics. One last thing I will mention is I think my game glitched during one of the final cutscenes because there was a part where it just shows a white screen when I think it was supposed to be a flashback flash or something but nothing happened for a few minutes so I had no choice but to skip it unfortunately. I'm really not sure what happened or why it happened even but it was strange.

Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #303 Final Fantasy III Master of III Earned all trophies. That was certainly one of the RPGs ever made alright. Not bad, but just kind of there. I think I just prefer more defined characters to play as. the intro kind of tried to have them talk to each other, but after that it’s basically one of the four talking the whole game and the others just exist. V did it better in both systems and characters. But this is solid gameplay wise. I like that it sort of adapted the II “use it and it gets better” way of doing things. Only less individualistic, and on each job instead. Levels for jobs going alllll the way to 99 was a shocker, but once you hit 30 or so you really feel that difference as soon as you switch to a job. which is a huge flaw in the game, because it discourages experimentation. Not being able to reorder spells made me any to cry coming from IV which allowed it. By the time I got a Sage my minor OCD tendencies were set aside and my white magic was all over the placed mixed in with summons and black magic. I’d have done white magic in row 1, black in 2, and summons 3, but oh well… all over it was. I think a mix of this and Ii would produce some of my favourite mechanics. As well as the QoL found in stuff like V. I just like the idea of using something and it getting better because that makes sense more than just pure leveling. Story wasn’t as barebones as I expected it to be, and I actually got sad a few times. The idea of having guests follow you and you talk to them is neat. wish it could’ve been fleshed out more. im sure this would have taken quite awhile to figure out on your own back in the day. Not as long as the first game with next to no direction, but following a guide cuts it all outs I talked to all the NPCs (many repeat dialogs for soldiers), and the hints and direction are all there. sucks there’s so many missables in these as it would be more fun to play without a guide. But the idea of spending that time and then replaying it again to get the trophies I miss… no. music was good, I played with the Og as usual. Thank Yevon they patched it in. I love the new ost but it just doesn’t go with the pixel art imo. there was a lot of ambition for this game. Despite feeling very meh in the whole of it, it is kind of annoying how they just didn’t localize this one ever. II is significantly more weird in its mechanics, and they brought that over fast. 🤷♂️ I found myself struggling for Gil and a bit worried about how hard enemies hit for so used the Gil boost really early, and XP around level 40. I figure that either way back in the day I would’ve spent time grinding because I always did. But now I can just save time doing it. onto II, I’ve played this one quite a bit but always found it too much of a challenge or confusing to figure out after a certain point so this should be interesting. And FFI I did on Steam already so I already know how easy that one is. Edited September 5, 2023 by Elvick_

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#663 - Stranger of Paradise It would've been a very good game, if the item management wasn't so poorly done. Why would you enable sorting when dismantling, but not when equipping items? There's also some real unresponsiveness with the controls. The amount of times where I tried to use a potion and it would not let me, no matter how much I spammed it (and no, not while being staggered, nor was I out of potions), is unreal. Still, I enjoyed my time with it for the most part. Enjoyment: 7.5 Difficulty: 4.5
Popular Post shadaik
#100 Minecraft (PS3) Awarded all Trophies Here we go, plat #100! I had been thinking for some time what plat I wanted to make #100. Going back to one of my unfinished PS3 titles was always where it was going, but which one? Assassin's Creed III would have been a great one, but the servers seem to be a tad unreliable, so I went for the PS3 stack of my most-played game ever. That is something that warrants a milestone spot, surely! While I do love Minecraft, there is stuff I don't like and much of that is in the trophies, so I never got the plat on any of the older editions. The Ender Dragon is one of these. Some others are tedious, but those are easy enough to get playing on the tutorial world which has almost everything that is needed and applying some duping methods these old editions still have (storage block duping and rail duping). So, I did that over the course of the week, finally left with two trophies: 500 blocks on a rail and killing the enderdragon. Alright then, make 500 pieces of rail in the duper, get that one and then strategize on that darn dragon: First, go into the end without any stuff to see what the spawnpoint looks like. Then, go in with arrows, a pickaxe and some blocks to destroy the crystals that heal the dragon. And then, finally, the actual fight! One last time into the end, this time full diamond armor and sword (and a glass bottle for the dlc trophy of collecting dragon's breath) and in we go! Phase two did not go all that smoothly as I kept dying trying to reach the last crystal, but eventually that was done. There is quite a bit of DLC trophies left, but the shiny, shiny plat is done. Everything else I will do with time. After all, this is easily one of my favourite games ever. When I don't set myself stupid deadlines like "I want this plat by the weekend", this is just absolutely great. Why don't I write anything about the game itself? This is Minecraft. The bestselling game in history. I don't need to tell you what Minecraft is like. Horrible name for a plat, though. Popular Post SomervilleHBK
#37 Tron: Evolution (PS3) A third person action game with Prince of Persia inspired free running mechanics. This game is actually canonically the prequel to the 2010 movie. The game suffers mostly in atmosphere, I think. Whereas the aesthetic is so popular now either directly or through inspired adjacents like outrun and synthwave, the game feels hollow and lonely, and not in the kinda cool liminal space way. This felt the worst when taking on the multiplayer with just one person. No music, just the distant hum of crowd noise. Some of the elite enemies are asking for ridiculous amounts of time and technique to beat them, and the last duel with two black armor enemies before the final boss was about a 35-minute game of dodging the mini grenade spread that stops you in your tracks while avoiding smaller cronies and slowly chipping away at them using the corruption disc in order to maintain distance. Short game that can be run through in probably 5 hours, maybe 6 on insane difficulty. One of the movie(?) games of all time. Popular Post BlueDragonZero
Ultimate God Super meat boy forever Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 10/10 Time: 104 hours When I Platted SMB last year I looked into this game and was put off by the auto runner change but after seeing some good impressions of the game I decided to try it and had a lot of enjoyment from this. For how little a focus on the story this game has a decent amount of charm to it and there are some well presented cutscenes but the game is mostly gameplay focused. The auto runner aspect really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The only really annoyance was how to turn around off walls as you need to jump up the wall first and when your trying to do this quickly usually ends up in messing it up and then dying. The platforming ranges from not to bad to just straight up evil. If you stick to the light worlds then you shouldn't have too many problems but the dark worlds are a massive step up in difficulty. For any one even remotely knowledgeable about the trophies then you will know that the hardest ones are for Deathless runs of each world. I tackled these as I went along with each world and for the first 2 dark worlds this probably wasn't the smartest idea as i was still getting used to the controls. The light world version are all fairly easy and shouldn't take too long to discover decent strategies to get though easily enough. None of these took me more then 2 hours. As mentioned before though the big step up is the dark worlds and these are will be where you spend the vast majority of time. Out of the 5 dark worlds I spent 15, 14, 3, 8 and 11 hours respectably and another 8 on the special world so about 60 hours or over half the play time on just these runs. While I wouldn't say its as good as the original SMB this is defiantly a decent platformer in is own right and worth a try even if you don't go for the plat.

Popular Post x410xDragon
# 176 The Evil Within 2 (Learn to Survive) The sequel to The Evil Within was okay and improved on some things, but ultimately the first game remains my favorite of the two; however, this game was not too bad as again, it fixed a few things the first lacked. If you ask me, the first game outshines the sequel by a mile, though again, that is a matter of opinion.

Popular Post ippikitako
#19 - God of War [Father and Son] In the end, I really enjoyed this game. Lots of lore, I like that. The stories are nicely told by Mimir, often while chilling in your boat. Great "character", a talking head on your belt. Muspelheim and Niflheim were less my cup of tea. I saved the last Valkyrie to finish the game on a high note. Which was still quite the challenge due to my low level.

Popular Post Rias Gremory
Platinum #175 Prototype Remastered PS4 Milestone 175th 1st Ultra Rare Ultra Rare: 4.61% Difficulty: 7/10. Enjoyment: 10/10. Challenge: 10/10. Music: 9/10. Story Mode: 9/10. Widespread/Explosion/Violence: 10/10. Favorite Weapon: Bulletdive Drop, Cannonball, Knuckle Shockwave, Spike Driver and Groundshatter. Genre: Platform, Hack and Slash, Beat em up, Adventure, Action, Sandbox, Open World, Blood, Gore and Super Powers. Grind Difficulty: 8/10. Platinum Time: 6 days and 1 hour. Prototype Remastered PS4 Recapped and Summary. This is when I earned my first Ultra Rare Platinum Milestone back in late 2020. Now onto the business at hand. I am a huge fan of Supernatural Blood and Gore genre types like Prototype Remastered PS4. I really like the mass destruction, violence and explosion. It's quite fascinating and exciting when you think about it. Alot of people got infected and turned into monsters. I do recalled back in late 2020 and that I used a powerful weapon to fast kill monsters in a blink of an eye but I can't remembered what the weapon is called but I can say it was a badass one to remembered. The story mode was excellent and the missions was quite decent and I really loved the impact of each one. Weapon Upgrades, Collectibles and Completing Other Objectives. It took me a small amount of time to fully and mastered all weapon upgrades throughout the open world. It was pretty high and very expensive to upgrade each piece for each one. Like I said I have fully upgraded and mastered all weapons in the game. Gathering all collectibles was very exhausting and I have to admit that finding collectibles was tough and almost well hiddened in very small buildings throughout the game. It's uncanning even for me but I have collected ALL of them and got it done just like that. Doing side quests, clearing out platinum medals and kill every single bastards off the checklist and others to go on. I do like these type of challenges that are fun, alot of blood and body parts that are split into tiny pieces and again others to go on. Consuming Others and Clearing the Remaining Quests. As I said from before. Consuming others and marking them off the list was tricky and hard to find on each piece in the open world but it was a little easy for me but it takes a rough time to find all of em and getting the job done. I would of normally got the whole thing done faster then my old account did in the past but I had to conserved my energy and went slower then usual . Once again and like I said. The quests did posed a good challenge and well worth it however some of them were a little tricky to completed them but I always find a way to get em all done and I did it anyway. Platinum Trophy! Unnatural Selection Trophy! The Cleaner Trophy! Mankind Is Your Mask Trophy! Cleanup Trophy! Highly and strongly recommend this game! Next Platinum Goal: ???
