Popular Post Darghel
#197: Tagmension Master (MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune Vs Zombies...Geeze that's a mouthful) Difficulty: Easy, but boring and requires waiting Recommended: It's an easy platinum at least Total score: 5/10 Hey it's been a while since I haven't done a Neptunia platinum! Can't really ignore this series: the original Hyperdimension Neptunia on ps3 was my very first platinum, and ever since then I've grown attached to this series. Yeah it's mediocre and doesn't always hit the mark, but it's a guilty pleasure that I take some enjoyment out of it. Anyway, this...game - not gonna write the whole name! - is a bit different: it's a game made by another company, named Tamsoft, which is very famous for creating a game that probably not many know, and it's about a bouncing and fluffy thing that jumps around whenever you move...of course I'm talking about Guardian's Crusade! Who could forget about Baby and how bouncy he was!? Oh sure, they are also famous for other stuff nobody cares, like Senran Kagura and Oneechanbara, but pff: Guardian's Crusade is where it's at! Also give me Guardian's Crusade for ps1 classics please! Jokes aside, the game is essentially a "lite" version of Senran Kagura: you basically fight in micro areas and fight every enemy you encounter, which won't last more than maybe 3 minutes. Do that and the mission is over. Repeat for 12 chapters and you're done. In between chapters and "cuts", you'll see cutscenes of the story and the different interactions between the girls, which is probably the weakest part of the game: while I'm not expecting an oscar worthy story from the creators of Neptunia, I would at least expect them to use their characters properly, but instead, they're very barebone and hardly have any importance to the whole story, making their interactions boring. As such, you hardly see Blanc getting mad, or Neptune breaking the 4th wall, or Vert acting like the nerd that she is, as well as Noire and her tsundere-ness. Heck the story is so barebone that only when Uzume comes out the plot actually goes forward. That's how boring it is! Oh right who's Uzume? She's basically the Dreamcast girl. Gotta love her Jet Set Radio inspired attire! As for the gameplay you know the drill: go inside an arena, kill everything using all your skills, and win. Unlike Senran Kagura you don't get naked if you get hit too much - even though you have broken versions of your clothes to unlock - so again it's a very lite version of the game. The issue is mostly due to how limited you are with the Vita: lock-on is annoying and hardly locks on the right enemy, enemies can stunlock you easily, most characters feel mediocre and you'll most likely stick with a few, and the "tag" mechanic is barely there and isn't even required to win the game. Bottom Line, it's a mediocre game: it's mostly boring rather than unfuctional, and all I wished was for the characters to be fun or just be their usual. But I really had struggles to keep following and only a few times their interactions made me laugh. And for some reason certain cutscenes are in japanese even if you have english voice acting, which is weird but I give them credit for dubbing more in this game than anything they've done in the past 5 years. Trophy wise is where the game gets...annoying. You see, I was meant to get this plat days ago, but I couldn't do that because of the game's "daily quest" mechanic: in multiplayer (which you can do solo so hooray!) you get special daily quests that rotate, and only on certain days you get certain rewards or enemies...you see where I'm going with this right? I had to wait 1 am last night, get my clock forward to get the right quest (on sunday it rotates among all days of the week) and then get the right quest and finish it. Sheesh it couldn't be more annoying than that...oh wait it can: you have to grind certain parts to get the treasure, sometimes having to kill the same boss 10 times! Good thing Noire has a great tank-buster ability that does a lot of damage in few seconds! Do I recommend this game? Meh, it's on the Vita and unless you go on your way to buy it there then...maybe? There's no physical copy as far as I know, so you'll be stuck there - unless they make a port, which I doubt. I don't regret playing it, I played much harder and more frustrating - and more boring - games than this, and it's always Neptunia so I can't really hate it. But hey if you want a somewhat easy plat, go for it! And with that, 3 more to go for my 200th. Edited August 13, 2023 by Darghel
Popular Post DrunkenEngineer
Platinum #46 - Dead Space (August 12, 2023) Trophy Statistics The Good The fully upgraded Force Gun literally turns bad guys inside-out The UI with the diegetic indications was a literal game changer in 2008 NG+ reward unlock is a foam finger gun that one-shots baddies while Isaac says "pew pew pew!" Videogame version of a lived in future a la Star Wars and Alien The Bad Peter Mensah's fantastic casting was not carried over Sometimes the R2 haptics get in the way of rapid firing I remember how much of a tectonic event Dead Space was when it released in 2008. EA produced a game that looked like a mash up of Resident Evil 4 and Event Horizon and no one had any faith they would pull it off. I was surprised as hell when I played it on the X360, and the Dead Space remake proved that it wasn't just nostalgia; this is just a damn good game. Most impressive was the amazing sense of "lived in"-ness of the USG Ishimura. It's a mining ship, it's modeled as such, complete with ore processing zones, engineering decks, crew quarters, and other locations that actually make sense. No big deal in 2023, but back in 2008 many games weren't there yet. I'm relieved that the remake is very faithful and captures all those feelings I had at release. Dead Space is a game that really only needed a remake in the most basic sense; the original 2008 PC port ran terribly, and on console it was stuck on PS3 (and X360, with probably good back compatibility support). The gameplay is still fresh enough that it just needed the most basic of porting jobs. Maybe some graphics tweaks, but leave the rest as-is. And near as I can tell that was done, and done well. The weapons being repurposed mining tools, the introduction of limb dismemberment, and the lighting and effects all feels as relevant as it was in 2008. Isaac Clarke was a famously silent protagonist in the original, and while he's voiced now it's not near the distraction I feared it would be. The trophy journey is an easy one, though you will be tied to 2 playthroughs, minimum. "Impossible" mode is really just the hardest difficulty with one save slot and permadeath. Don't let it intimidate you, Dead Space is famous for long, gruesome, and awesome death animations and during those you can quit to menu and reload your last save. I definitely recommend stacking impossible with the "One Gun" trophy for only using the Plasma Cutter. Just like in 2008, not only is the Cutter one of the best weapons, it frees up ammo limitation and upgrade resources to only dump those in the suit and weapon. And then in NG+ the foam finger hand cannon is the perfect victory lap over all those monster closet jump scares. It made for a necromorph-blasting good time!
Popular Post shadaik
#98 Minecraft Dungeons Bragging Rights Ah, the haunted world of Minecraft spin-offs! Dungeons is often described as a Diablo light, which does kinda make sense, but I'm fine with that. It's a good formula that works, the gear and items do have some depth in that a low-level item can easily outclass a higher one for some time due to enchantments and stuff. Said enchantments are fun to play around with and can alter fights a lot. Leveling the world is basically optional, unlike many RPGs where leveling is meaningless because the world keeps pace by itself. It does have its moments of grinding. Getting gear capable of taking on the Arch-Illager on Apocalypse meant replaying the tutorial again and again so the merchants would reset with better gear because that is way faster than playing proper levels hoping for the right piece of loot to rng itself into existence. So I started up a podcast and did that for two hours. And then I beat the final boss once more, this time bringing in three beehives and hiding in a corner that was hard to reach with his attacks while the swarm did the work. Now, on to 100%ing it. And maybe building the first level in Minecraft proper. Fun: 7/10 Length: 7/10 Platinum: 3/10 #99 Black Mirror Every Trophy accomplished The dark story of David Gordon, heir of a Scottish family older than Scotland itself, and to its castle. What begins as a somewhat normal family mystery soon turns into a story about a family haunted by a magical artifact and terrible controls, both out to end David's life. As is every family member aside from his aunt, though it seems she would like to if she were physically capable of it. The puzzle design is quite good without veering into frustrating, the story is unfortunately just serviceable, the graphics had me believe this is a remake of its 2003 predecessor when in truth, it's a completely new game in the series, rebooting it. Bad controls and extreme visual darkness mar what is otherwise alright, but not memorable in any way, dragging this just below average. This sat unfinished for a while due to leaving Plus Extra, but I decided to bite and finish it when it was on sale recently. Fun: 4/10 Length: 5/10 Platinum: 3/10 And with that, #100 looms. I'm aiming for the PS3 stack of Minecraft to have that honour. Edited August 13, 2023 by shadaik

Popular Post Mr_Fluffy_Pants_
200 - Cult of the Lamb PS5 Really enjoyed this game, very cool art style and graphics. Unique concept (first game I’ve ever heard of where you manage a cult). Ticked a lot of boxes for me personally so I decided to make it my #200 platinum. A few months back I hadn’t really heard of (or at least taken note of) Devolver Digital, but now I seem to have noticed that I love virtually every game I play by them, and this one is no exception. I may look up a list of all their games and try to play all of them, much like I did with Annapurna after playing stray. I’ve always been a fan of city building or management type games, but what I haven’t been a fan of is rogue likes. Admittedly Returnal was the only one I tried, and the fact you had to start from the first level every time you die turned me off, and also I assumed all rogue likes were like this. Well cult of the lamb isn’t, and it has made me realize that maybe I do like some rogue likes lol My only complaint with this game is that the free dlc “Relics of the old faith” made the requirements for the platinum longer and more grindy. I’m all for dlc and dlc trophies, for a game I enjoy I welcome it. What I don’t like is when they change the requirements for the platinum. Because of this fact nearly every guide you’ll find for this game is now outdated and inaccurate, and I found it very hard to find information on. Thank god for this site because it’s cult of the lamb forum was literally the only place I could find how to unlock some of the things now needed for platinum. Big thanks to @Demek97 for making this post which helped me so much. Time to platinum: 25 hours Time to 100%: 27 hours Would I platinum this again? Yes but not immediately. Would I recommend this game? Definitely

Popular Post insaneeeRob
Closed File Foreclosed So this game was super short but fun. It's an obvious game inspired from cp2077 (the story, guns, skills, enemies, locations, etc.) Nothing too hard and the only thing you have to be careful is to pick all signals in one go. It was buggy too wich was annoying at times.
Popular Post mega-tallica
#238 - Jeopardy! (PS3) Difficulty: 1/5 - With using an answer guide, there's basically no difficulty whatsoever. There's one trophy that's a bit RNG where you have to pick the Daily Double on the first attempt but considering you have to play at least 50 games for the platinum, if you go for it from the start, you'll get it eventually along the way so you don't really need to worry about it. I got it around my 10th game. Enjoyment: 3/5 - I mean.... it's Jeopardy. Not really much more to say. I like trivia even though most Jeopardy questions I don't have the first clue what the answer is. It is very satisfying when you finally get that "oh, I actually know this one!" moment which is maybe only about 5-10% of Jeopardy questions for me. There is a finite amount of questions the game has so by the time you get around 45 games you'll start getting all repeat questions which makes the redundancy of having to play 50 games all the more boring.

Popular Post Mr_Fluffy_Pants_
201 - Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Great game, I used a guide by @Optinooby for this one which must have taken so much work, and that no doubt made my platinum journey so much faster. The amount of items / food / clothing / weapons / armour / shards in this game is unreal, and you have to get all of it. Definitely packed with a lot more then I thought it was going to be. Probably the most items I’ve ever seen in any side scroller. One tip I have is that if (your like me and) you find it a little hard in the first hour or two, upgrade your flame cannon to the max and that makes it so much easier. I didn’t have any difficulty problems after I did that, and that’s the only attack I used then for the majority of the game. If your interested in in this game I highly suggest using his guide to save yourself a pile of time, you can find it here: Edited August 15, 2023 by Mr_Fluffy_Pants_

Popular Post s3lf_loath1ng
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout This platinum was quite a journey. Originally I had some doubts if I’d ever really get the plat. However, because of the occasional in-game event most of the difficult trophies could be cheesed at various times. So today I was finally able to finish cleaning up the entire list. Overall, the game was really fun for a couple of afternoons. It was also pretty fun when playing with friends. However, the last trophy I needed was for qualifying from 500 rounds and that one turned out to be quite a grind. The gameplay ended up getting a bit repetitive and the fact that there was no stat tracking was also kind of annoying. Apart from the final grind, though, this game was a pretty fun experience. Popular Post No longer here
#206 - Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Enjoyment/Rating: 8.5/10 Difficulty: 4/10 (played on Jedi Knight) Time: 55 Hours PSNP Rarity: 33.32% PSN Rarity: 4.1% Respawn sure knows how to make great sequels (Titanfall 2) and expand from the first game. As a long time star wars fan, this game filled that void that the movies gave me lol. Overall I think it is a great improvement over the first game but it is without its' faults, however nothing game breaking for me. I was the lucky one where I had no crashes while playing this game, so I would say I played this game at a decent state, even though performance issues still showed. That is the main reason I waited so long lol. The game improves right away with quality of life improvements such gaining the same abilities back from first game, fast travel points, and better level designing where backtracking doesn't feel horrible like in the first game. The level and world design is honestly really good and the attention to detail on some of these planets feel like Star Wars at its best visually. The music goes well with anything you do so you will always feel immersed, definitely most immersive Star Wars to date! The exploration imo is a bit more interesting as they added more incentive such as more upgrades, stims, and pretty cool customizable cosmetics for your Cal. Yes I know cosmetics don't really matter, but some of the levels were cool to explore and were worth it because you would also find legendary enemies or a force tear to test your skills. the combat imo is also better with more stances/options, so you can choose whatever you're comfortable with. Personally for me, the last two stances you unlocked I used all the way, they made the combat more enjoyable! Some bosses were fun combat wise, so those stances shined then. The combat definitely has impact and the imporved dismemberment is a plus! Also added enemies and different designs allow the combat to be a bit more flexible. I absolutely love the traversal and set pieces in this game, it has def improved from last game it felt so fluid and precise, like a true jedi. Some of my favorite moments in the game is when you unlock a new traversal ability, while basic it allows for more movement and better transitions to where you go, makes the game better! While simple, the platforming and puzzles were fun to follow in neatly designed levels, so it never got boring. Last but not least, the story was good imo and I admired Cal and how he grows as a Jedi. There are some relevant Star Wars themes surrounding the story that I personally enjoyed, which made the game shine even more. I admired the writing for a lot of the characters in the game, shows how much they paid attention to creating a good Star Wars story! As much as I appreciate this gem, there are some negatives that keep this game away from a 9/10 to me. First the combat, while I did enjoy it, I wish they expanded more with combo movesets, its pretty basic, thank gosh the stance switchups allow for more options. Hopefully in the next game it can shine more and it can even innovate on a great foundation, make it more action or hack and slash maybe Second, some side enemies such as legendary enemies and bounties felt more of the same, again similar in the first game with recycled stuff, it kinda ruins the point for exploring if you're fighting reskins. And third, the very end of the game, while enjoyed the build up and set pieces, I felt it wasn't really a complete ending, but I get it, its the middle game of a trilogy, but still the void was there. There are other nitpicks such as some useless exploring areas, not much good force options other than pull and slam, and being only a few planets but only focusing on Koboh 70% of the time. The performance was fine for me, but the frame drops were there for sure with a little of screen tearing. Overall, prob the best Star Wars game I played in a long while (the other being Force unleashed). In technically, this is an S tier star wars game, which means I recommend any Star wars fan to play it, you might like it more than me lol. There are some issues with the game involving some plot (last 5-10% of game) and the side content, but they improved the exploration and traversal which made it a much more pleasant experience. The next game has potential to not only be the best Star Wars game ever made but also a must play game for everyone! The next game can easily be a 9/10 or above, but knowing Respawn they will find a way to knock it out of the park. Alright that's my review essay lol, I recommend it to any action/adventure enjoyer!
Popular Post JoaLoft
#315 - A Plague Tale: Requiem A Plague Tale: Requiem was next on my platinum chopping block. A game I was looking forward to after playing the sleeper hit, A Plague Tale: Innocence. It's still the 14th century, and Amicia and her brother Hugo are still looking for a remedy to cure young Hugo of the mysterious affliction he's suffering from. Throughout their journey in southern France, they will discover answers about the Macula (the disease itself), its past and if there is a way to stop it. The Mediterranean setting is brought to life beautifully, it provides for an amazing backdrop in this next chapter of the A Plague Tale adventure. You'll travel along the coastline of France, visit a few cities, take to the seas and even visit an island in the Mediterranean Sea as you follow the trail of the Macula. In terms of visuals, it's a very beautiful looking game. The voice-acting is mostly good, although some of the lines fall flat. The writers haven't exactly learned from A Plague Tale: Innocence where they struggled with the script as well at times. Gameplay is what you'd expect from an A Plague Tale game: you craft ammunition to throw by hand or with your sling, upgrade your equipment with resources you can find along the way and you also are equipped with a crossbow to eliminate enemy soldiers. The rats however, they still need a different approach: fire is your primary ally to keep them away as you dig deeper for answers throughout your journey. Thanks to modern technology, the sequel can showcase 300.000 rats at the same time! That is a staggering amount, but it shows in some of the more impressive set pieces where entire swarms of bloodthirsty rats destroy environments or come after you. The rat sections include loads of platform puzzles, but the parts where you must get past human enemies, like soldiers, they do give you multiple ways to deal with soldiers. Depending on how many enemies you leave alive after a section, you will gain points in one of three different branches: Prudence, Aggressive or Opportunism. Each of these approaches will provide upgraded skills depending on your playstyle, but it is possible to apply a mix of stealth and action to unlock multiple perks across different skill branches. Is it that much better than A Plague Tale: Innocence, I wouldn't say so: it's mostly a prettier game with more impressive set pieces. The mechanics still work fine and it's a unique franchise. If you didn't enjoy A Plague Tale: Innocence, the sequel won't win you over either. But I don't see why you'd consider this an unappealing game: A Plague Tale: Innocence was one of my big suprises of the past years, and A Plague Tale: Requiem delivers more of the same. More puzzles, more playtime, more to explore. But mostly, more answers. Amicia and Hugo's journey is a captivating one, and I for one am looking forward to playing a third A Plague Tale once it hits the shelves. Most frustrating trophy - Explorer Most of the trophies are not hard. Well, none of them are hard, to be fair. But I did want to include one trophy which might cause some vexation while you're cleaning up: "Explorer". This trophy will unlock if you open all the secret chests scattered throughout the chapters of the game. Just another collectible-type trophy, you'd say. The difference with other similar trophies is that there's no in-game counter to keep track of which ones you found in which chapters. So you'll be replaying all the chapters, finding the chests to see which ones you haven't found yet. Not as annoying as some other trophies in games, but it's still one which might require several extra hours in A Plague Tale: Requiem before you acquire the platinum trophy.
Popular Post Gooboid
After almost a decade waiting for this game to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Graphics and gameplay are solid but the writing has a weird disjointed feel as the dialogue is wrote for different replies from several playable characters. I'm hoping to recover the data from my old PS4 Pro and continue with my playthroughs of the earlier titles. I even have Escape Dead Island on PS3 to start at some point but I'm hoping the wait for a Dead Island 3 won't be too long.
Popular Post NeyZaku
Platinum #150 Crash Bandicoot 4 : It’s about time Time : 150 hours Difficulty : 8.5/10 Enjoyment : 6/10 Well well well, finally done !! One of the very first games I played in my life was Crash Bandicoot's Action Pack games on PS2 and since then I love playing platformers, so despite the difficulty I had to do it. On this game, levels are incredibly well designed compared to other Crash and I loved doing the Flashback levels and I also loved the concept of the abilities with the 4 masks (by the way my favorite level is the Castle Cortex where there are all the masks that are linked) BUT BUT BUT There are a lot of bad things to point out: - The N.Verted mode, it's a mode in which you play at the SAME LEVELS, but levels are mirrored, in addition to being completely useless, there's a guy who had fun putting on Snapchat filters all disgusting so that it makes you very nauseous while you play (in short, just a way to extend the playing time) - The levels where you play the secondary characters (which were actually good) BUT halfway through the level you are sent back to a level that you have already done, so with the N.Verted mode you find yourself doing the same level 4 times… - The 2D plans which are actually 3D plans, THAT IS ANNOYING, I don't know how many times I died because of that, it's really the worst thing I’ve ever seen in this game - Cortex. (yeah, I don't even need to argue) I would also like to talk about something terrible that happened to me, I had completed all N.Sanely relics, got all clear gems and all N.Verted gems, I also earned 29/38 platinum time trial relic. But I suddenly lost my save… Luckily I found a 1 month old backup in the cloud… I had to do again N.Sanely relics and collect all gems again on the last 6 levels and also all time trial relics again… That’s why I got my plat in 150 hours. And there it is, even though I spent hours raging on this game, I'm still going to miss it... For more than a month I've been playing it every day to progress little by little... what am i going to do aimlessly now..?
Popular Post Zach
#226 Life is Strange Remastered ^Ooof hopefully this platinum image is visible Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Difficulty: 1.5/10 Time: 10-12hrs This is one of those Telltale inspired games... but better than most Telltale games. This game is up there with the Telltale's Walking Dead Season 1 in quality. I'd give the TWD S1 game a 10/10, but this game is very close to the enjoyment level with me. The amount of choices when it comes to how it will affect the story in this game is unbelievable. The time reversal ability is absolutely genius. I cannot recommend this game enough to anyone who wants a story rich game. The reason I give this a game a 1.5/10 in difficulty, is because I only give a 1/10 to games like The Walking Dead Season 1 or NCIS, where you just beat the game to get the platinum trophy.
