Popular Post DrBloodmoney
160 - BATMAN: ARKAM ORIGINS - BLACKGATE (VITA) A fairly enjoyable metroidvania, not as good as its PS3 big brothers (the first two anyways, i avoided Origins on PS3 as i had heard bad things) but a solid title nonetheless. A bit of a slog for platinum tho - 3 playthroughs is a bit much, especially considering you are invincible after the first one!

Popular Post SirDave1988
# 30 - Dante's Inferno (PS3) Master of The Inferno Unlock all other trophies Very enjoyable hack 'n' slash game. The similarities between this and God of War are startling, in fact, it looks and plays almost the same as the first God of War HD collection. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just it kinda feels like a watered down version of that at times. Still, I really enjoyed it, the platinum was much easier than any of the first 3 God Of War games and I'm kinda disappointed that they haven't followed up with a sequel, I guess it must not have sold like they were expecting. Anyway, I have reached my goal of 30 Platinums before the end of the year, and that makes 20 in one year, compared to just 10 for between 2009 and 2013! Going to try to make it to 50 by the end of 2015.
Popular Post TheIncinerator1
Persona 4 Golden It's been a while since the last platinum, like 2 and a half months to be exact, but hey, was thoroughly enjoying yet another game added to the favorites list:Persona 4: GoldenShin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, or this vita remake, P4G, is what you'd get if you threw Scooby Doo, David Lynch/Twin Peaks, and your favorite"Power of Friendship" anime into a blender and added a tad bit of engrish-y pop music to the mix for good measure. The game's part dungeon crawler, kind of part VN, part waifu high school simulator and full Jrpg with it's story, characters and combat. In P4 you take control of a young high school protag who's just visited the small rural town of Inaba to stay for a while, when all of a sudden tons of craziness ensues from rumors about something called the midnight channel to odd murders popping out of nowhere. Soon enough your protag gets wrapped up in it all, and to make a long story short, forms sort of a Mystery Incorporated™-like group with the friends he meets along the way to solve whatever the hell seems to be going on in this otherwise average ass town. The gameplay consists of your basic Jrpg combat as you're dungeon crawling, and gives you a break in between to form bonds and friendships when you're not. You and the party you form fight with the titular entities known as Personas you get along the way which is kind of like this games' version of Pokemon, complete with elemental weaknesses and all. You of course, being the special protag/brotag you are, can use multiple personas at will while each of your party members gets stuck with one; A bit of a bummer I know, but it becomes something you eventually get used to. You can both collect and fuse Personas as you progess, level up, and form strong bonds with teammates and npcs outside of dungeons, which becomes vital if you want to take on later bosses and areas. The combat is actually pretty fast and fun, and due to the fact the game lets you see and approach enemies, you won't be bothered by continous and tedious random encounters that usually plague most Jrpgs making the combat tiring as a result. Fortunately too, the music that plays also helps the battles remain fun as well; get ready for most of the themes to be stuck in your head by the time you're finished with the game. The "forming bonds" element of the game was interesting, and almost where it starts bordering on VN territory. The bonds are called "social links" in the game and as stated above, pretty much serve to help in fusing higher level Persona's to back you up. If you fully MAX out a characters Social link you'll have the ability to fuse ultimate high leveled Personas. Otherwise than that, social link progress with characters is pretty bare bones. Say the right things to characters and they'll like you and advance a rank, say something they don't like and they'll still like you for some odd reason or occasionally reverse a rank.Story-wise and character-wise I can't really say they were bad. Similar to how I felt about Symphonia, I enjoyed it since they work for what they are. A few chuckle worthy moments and a plot that's not exactly winning any awards anytime soon, but pretty passable for a cheesy anime friendship Jrpg.I really don't have any complaints about P4G as it's pretty straight forward and once you get an understanding of how everything works in this mix of a game, you're pretty much set. The only minor problem I'd say I had with it was during my second playthrough I wish I was able to completely skip dialogue segments I've already seen rather than just fast forward through them.P4G is both my first Vita game and my first Vita plat, and I'm glad I started off with it from the get go as it's a pretty good introduction to both the series and this nice little portable I've owned for about 3 months now. I'd recommend this to two people (well, everybody too but..), new vita owners looking for a game to start off their collection, and Jrpg fans looking to get into one of the Shin Megami titles because I know I'm definitely interested in picking up another one as soon as I can. All in all great game, bear puns and everything. I'm thinking next in the works it's back to Tales, specifically: Edited December 8, 2014 by Inc

Popular Post amebapiko
Platinum Killzone: Mercenary I would say it's the best FPS or shooter in general on the PS Vita. It's gameplay is fluid and non-cumbersome, well it's Killzone so that's to be expected. You can't expect a game like this to have much of story, and that's obviously made up with the excellent gameplay. I remember the online to be pretty good too, if it's still active. Overall it's a very enjoyable game if you like the genre, the platinum is very straight forward with nothing that's too difficult. Bloodbank is obviously the most trophy but it's really not too bad with some music - I must have done Diplomatic Incident about 50-60 times, thinking about that makes my brain hurt but I guess music makes the pain 100% more bearable. Anyway, nice game, simple platinum - kinda glad I got it now.

Really easy going with great music, bosses, and characters. If your a fan of the older SNES RPGs/turn base combat then, you can't go wrong with this little game. Popular Post FluffyAssassin64
#32 - Far Cry 4 "Master of Kyrat" Obtain all the Trophies. Let me preface this by first saying that I LOVED Far Cry 3. I pre-ordered this game because of it haha. I went into this expecting a lot, which was both a good and a bad thing... The good and improvements over FC3: Beautiful, fully-realised world that really takes advantage of the PS4 hardware Incredibly fun gameplay that remains entertaining throughout the whole game A massive variety of guns, tools, vehicles and explosives to play your way Awesome economy with steady and addictive unlocks that encourage a variety of mission types and require you to get heaps of money and xp Pagan Min is an awesome villain; motivations of other characters as well as him really provide interesting insight into the world Massive variety of things to do (smaller missions) Outpasts and Fortresses are just as fun as expected; expect some awesome video recordings! Some funny and interesting characters ELEPHANTS Carry-able mortar launcher Grappling hook Himalayas missions!!! (very different to all the others, really take advantage of the setting and ideas to awesome effect) Amita and Sabal's bickering and different missions are genuinely agonising choices to make, as you can picture the other's reaction when you don't do what they want. The not-so-good: Repetitive mission structure that repeats many of the FC3 missions (burning drugs, epic music playing as you drive a truck, etc.). Also not quite as memorable as the Far Cry 3 ones (torching the drug farm, flying a helicopter with epic music Incredibly under-used main villain; see him once at the start, middle and end, and then he's simply a radio message at random points. Compare this to Vaas who was in your face the whole time and compelled me to continue the story Story itself was pretty dumb to be honest; little to no explanation for why anything is happening, and I didn't really care/know about anyone or anything haha. Formula starting to become tired; unfogging the map, pulling off posters, killing this dude, etc. 150 times is quite tiring Lots of weird and ridiculous characters; but not all in a good way. They can either come across as annoying or grating in most cases There's probably some other stuff I forgot to say as well Overall, I had a lot of fun with this game and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome experience on your PS4 (other any other console for that matter). However, the repetitive nature and similarities to the previous game (sometimes things that are even inferior) prevent it from being something truly special in my opinion Game rating: 8.5 Plat difficulty: 2/10 (if you do the story, collect everything, and experiment with guns, you'll get it no problems) Edited December 8, 2014 by FluffyAssassin64
