#176 Army of Two: The Devils Cartel

 

 

Zero brains were used during this platinum run. Guns, explosions and manly action, YEAAAHHH!!! Army of Two: The Devils Cartel is an incredibly grey game. The enviroments are grey, the logo is grey, even the trophy icons are grey. I wonder whats the favorite color of the developers? Probably purple... But anyway, it has no collectibles and takes about 2,5 playthroughs to platinum. The insane difficulty is insultingly easy and so very casual... If you get hit, dont worry your AI partner will get you right up. I was run and gunning through the whole thing. I was afraid it was gonna be annoying because I hate cover shooters, but gladly thats not the case. It's not exactly a good game, but it's not bad either. It's just very generic.

Snoopy's Grand Adventure

 

This game is good for what it is. It's a kids game, but the collectible trophies are deceptively simple. While most are in plain sight, a few are easy to miss. On several levels, found myself with 299/300 jellybeans and having to scour the level over to find the new one. Annoyingly, if you die (which is pretty hard to do, but still...) or quit the level, you lose all the collectibles you gained and have to start again. If you make it to the end of the level, the things you got are saved and you don't have to look again. You cannot get everything in one go. You will have to go back after you've gotten all of Snoopy's costumes. It was also a bit repetitive. It's not worth the going price right now, but if you can pick it up on sale, by all means. It's a short, fun little game.

There is no way that towel would stay up like that in real life! Even if you were running away from a maniac I feel like you wouldn't care if the towel fell why bother wasting energy to keep it held up!

 

Anyway, great PS4 exclusive, can't wait to see what Supermassive do next!

the thing is that this game is just a big parody/homage/satire of every teen horror movie, full of cliches, stereotypes, monsters, ghosts, killers, spirits, teenagers, etc the developers just grabbed everything from every horror movie and put it in 1 game, so the "magic towel" is just another parody made by the developers of some similar stuff that happens in some horror movies (can't remember its name but i watched one in which that happened lol)

 

sadly unless you are a true horror movie fan there are many people who don't get the point of the game, so that's why sometimes you see people making fun at its cliches, stereotypes, cheap jumpscares, etc but they don't understand that the developer's objective was to make this game the "ultimate interactive horror movie experience" so they had to put all the ridiculous things that happens in that movie genre

Yakuza 5, the only game where you can drive a taxi, hunt animals, play baseball, beat up people on the street senseless, and be a  teenage girl music idol. What else can you ask for in a game? But yeah the Yakuza games are really good, it's just too bad that Sega prefers to give us Sanic instead of these games.

I really enjoyed Until Dawn's story for the first half, but the second half felt like it jumped the shark way too much. But the more I played the story over the more I started to dislike the game as a whole. I hear they are making a VR game.

Platinum #20 - Lego Marvel Avengers

This game was...underwhelming. I enjoyed Lego Marvel Super Heroes to an extent, and since the MCU movies are among my favourites I had high hopes for this game but it didn't really deliver. I encountered a lot of glitches, the controls are awkward and often needed to be pressed multiple times before they'd work. Also way too much is assigned to the button which got insanely frustrating. This flying is really good this time around, it feels really smooth with all characters. But weirdly, the driving is even worse...I'm not sure what they changed but it certainly feels unbearable this time around. I almost never drove, I even used a flying character for the ground races. The grinding was boring as usual and I got quite lazy with it, but that's to be expected with Lego games. Unfortunately the story levels weren't really good enough to justify the boring parts. Overall it had its fun moments, but I'd struggle to recommend this.

Platinum #87: Hitman GO (Vita)

Was aiming for the leap year event. Had Dragon Crown ready but needed a few more hours than I had. Got Hitman go 5 hours before midnight...and missed by 25 min to get the Leap year plat.

 

Enjoyed this game very much, was waiting to pick it up a lot later. If this is good, then Tomb Raider GO must be amazing. Leap Year event was enticing, next time then. Have the 4 other Hitman games, going to try beating those one day.

I was kinda scared to play this because I thought DMD mode would kick my ass, but it really wasn't too bad once you work out a strategy for most of the boss fights.The hardest boss in this game was definitely the awful camera, which caused 90% of my deaths.

they didn't "jumped the shark", the game was supposed to be a parody/homage/satire of every horror movie, full of cliches, stereotypes, monsters, ghosts, killers, spirits, teenagers, etc... so they included everything that you find in every horror movie so they could create the "ultimate interactive horror movie experience" and they managed to tide up everything perfectly.

 

so sad that you are one of those who didn't got the point of the game, they weren't trying to create a serious horror game just a parody of every horror movie, and also the monster thing appeared since the beginning of the game when the twins were being chased by it.

Gemini: Heroes Reborn

 

 

 

For a budget T.V. tie in it was quite enjoyable. Never watched the show but it didn't stop me from catching to the story line here.

 

It played well with no bugs or glitches. It borrowed from a few games with the mechanics. It had parts Bioshock, mirror's edge and Dead Space.

 

If you want a quick but enjoyable game to play than give it a shot.

 

Next up is a replay. Excited to get Heavy Rain on Ps4 and replay one of my all time favorite ps3 titles.

When it comes to killing zombies, Jack was born ready...McReady.

 

Of course I love this game. I have to, since it's from a Finnish developer (Housemarque), and y'know...yay Finland!

But in all seriousness (okay, half-seriousness), Dead Nation was a great gaming experience for me. It's a very hard game to dislike.

Twin-stick shooters are always a hoot, and there were lots of similarities with the (still superior) Super Stardust series. Plus the zombies. Minus the space.

When deciding what version of DN to play, I went with Vita. This just felt like it was made for a hand-held. And Vita deserves more love. Go on, give your Vita a hug   

The story is non-important. You just kill the undead until they die...again. Can a zombie actually be "killed", since it's already non-living? Anyway, you waste them. A lot.

And by 'a lot' I mean a metric f**king ton of them. During the course of game I shot, burned, electrified, blasted, punched and kicked over 53,000 of those poor bastards.

The soundtrack is quite sweet. It ramps up in the more hectic moments, and gives you that extra adrenaline boost. Semper Fi, motherf**kers   

The only clearly negative thing I can think of is the overall online lag. That and disconnections. Btw, thanks to Cisele80 for a great co-op run, that was fun despite of the lag   

When it comes to recommending Dead Nation, I'd say yes. Even more so, if you fancy twin-stick games, Super Stardust mechanics and zzzzzombiesss.

Before I unleash my RNG, I'd like to play a title that's been on display here many, MANY times already...Hitman GO: Definitive Edition, let's get you done and done
