So... your going to obviously notice something with my trophy card now. A screwed up trophy list, and the game appearing twice.

 

I was having issues running the game on my PS4. No I don't know why. But I was. So a Discord friend of mine told me about a free upgrade to the PS5 version. I really wish I knew about this beforehand. Seriously. I do. How was I supposed to know about this? Seriously?

 

The point is... I transferred all of my stuff for this game (including my save THANK GOD) to my PS5 and I'm going to play the PS5 Upgrade instead. I suppose I should just be glad that all of the trophies I obtained up to this point auto-popped. Which I am. Obviously. It's just a screwed up trophy list unfortunately and extra trophies.

 

So yeah you don't have to scream at me lol. I won't be attempting the Platinum for this game twice. All further work for the Platinum will be done for the PS5 Upgrade version.

 

I mean... doesn't this make up for all of those trophies I missed out on after dropping Balan Wonderworld? Yeah... this seems like a valid excuse... ?

After taking a break from gaming for about a week or so, I've returned, with two projects. Although Atelier Ryza 3 will be my main project, I also decided to start something alongside that, which happens to be this. I'll start the former one within a few days, but for now, I'll be focusing on this.

 

When it comes to this game, I suppose I should explain a couple of things. First of all, I've never played any of the games in this series before this, although I've known it for a long time. The only media I've consumed is the 2016 anime adaptation based on this (anyone remember that), which I watched and thought it was alright. After several years, I've finally tried the actual game. Having played it for about 10 hours or so, what are my first impressions so far?

 

The answer? I like it so far. I usually don't play F2P games, but when I happened to see it in a PS Store, I decided to give it a try, but only when the time was right. Not to mention, the sheer amount of space it takes is insane. Then again, it consists of two games, so I guess that understandable. Also, since I'm playing it on the PS5, I don't have to worry about running out of space.

 

As for the games, PSO2 is my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but when compared to NGS (New Genesis), it lacks some features that has taken me some time to get used to. For example, you can't double jump, dash or dodge while attacking which becomes annoying in boss battles. On the other hand, I do like the weapon my class uses, which is the launcher. It's so overpowered that taking out enemies from afar won't be a problem. Otherwise, I've been enjoying it.

 

Then there's New Genesis, which is my preferred game, for various reasons. The story is epic, the game looks great, and the gameplay is much better. Besides the double jump and dash, you can also climb on walls and mountains with the wall jump, as well as glide. Woo! The latter is easily one of my favorite features.

 

This is going to take me some time to complete, considering how much stuff both games have. I also have to learn a lot of different mechanics and such, but that's fine. I'm taking my time with this. I'll probably share an image of my character later. I could do it now, but since I don't have any great looking outfits, it has to wait. I will say that the looks on my character is basic, since I'm not very good about designing those. He also resembles me a bit.

This remake was a little stumble for Capcom but nothing that bad or anything like that, the game is pretty good by itself and it's fun playing, looks great, and has an incredible story after all. I highly recommend it for anyone that hasn't played any Resident Evil game or for anyone that wants to play it for the story. After all this game has the incredible Jill Valentine as protagonist alongside Carlos, and I absolutely love Jill is my favorite female character in the series and this version of Jill still rocks. This game could have been much better but this is what we got and it's not that bad in my opinion, a bit forgettable but not a bad game at all.

 

Next stop: Resident Evil 4!!!
