And that's Biomutant completed to my liking and the Platinum trophy obtained. That's two Platinum trophies back to back lol. That ends immediately lol. Unless for some reason you don't count what I'm playing next...?

 

The second time in the last couple of months... the reviews are accurate. Unfortunately. Were there times I enjoyed the game? Absolutely. Were the graphics really pretty and the best I've seen in quite a long time possibly all year so far? Yep. Not even graphics can save games sometimes though. Story wasn't that great (generic apocalyptic story), characters weren't that interesting except for a few (some side characters, the MC you create/control and the antagonist (sort of). World was... okay but it was 70% forest and not enough variety (IMO). Graphics? Very pretty. Gameplay? Too many mechanics that I feel like I still didn't fully understand even after beating it. Borderline BOTW/TOTK ripoff (IMO. Feel free to educate me otherwise). I mean I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it. I did. At times. But I got too frustrated and had no idea what I was doing, where to go, or what order to do things in. Problem with open-world games I guess. I had to switch to Easy and the guide I used/got was useless so I stopped using it. Took me 20-ish in-game hours to get a 'hang' of things. That's too long IMO. Was it a personal skill issue? Yeah maybe but that's still too long for me to feel like I'm not struggling (mostly). I get too long-winded with these things. The point is... the reviews are accurate and I see why and understand why it got mixed reviews. It's still fun. At times. But it just doesn't succeed in most areas. plus there's that borderline BOTW/TOTK ripoff situation. But hey... I'll take an Easy Platinum. No matter what kind of game it is.

Next up for me... I'm back to playing my Nintendo Switch again. For one game only lol. The finale Ori game and the finale of the Ori franchise it appears anyway. I believe I read somewhere that Moon Studio is 'done' making Ori games so RIP. Unfortunately really. I guess. I could be wrong though so feel free to correct me on this. Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

Fea(s)ts! - Complete 100 feats

 

Let me say one thing quickly. Yes, Atelier Ryza 3 is still my main project, but I took a short break from it. I don't know what got me resuming this, but I suppose it was worth it, as I managed to make some progress, after a long hiatus. Don't worry, I'll return to the fantasy world after this. Like I said, I want to take it easy before tackling anything harder. After my previous project, I deserve that.

 

As for the trophy, I don't have much to say about it, other than how boring it was. Whereas completing feats in Resogun was fun, it was rather opposite in this. Sure, some of them did offer a good amount of challenge, but that's about it. Since I'm rather average when it comes to this game, I only chose the ones I was capable of doing, like a couple of speedrun feats. Some of them have a strict time limit, while others are lenient. I also managed to complete a couple of those that require grinding, which was more or less fun.

 

Now that I've managed to get the most boring part done, it's time to resume my main project. After that, I'm considering resuming this, since I managed to get some practice and knowledge about the levels while completing feats. That being said, it won't be easy, but I have hope that I can complete it once and for all. It's been five years since I started it, and I'd like to see it done before I start anything new.

Falz Hyunal, the Jet Black Beacon - (PSO2) - Proof of killing Falz Hyunal. If one who fights humans take a human form, isn't it because human forms are the strongest? *Restricted to single party areas.

 

 

You Made the Difference! - (PSO2) Proof of triggering a Photon Blast. Release the power that you kindled! *Not unlockable in NGS.

 

I also managed to make some progress in this one as well. Mostly story-related, but something that requires some effort as well.

Monster Monpiece is another one of those games I started years ago to get the online trophies out of the way only to get around to single player much later. Overall, the main card battle gameplay is fun. Once you figure out stuff like Aura Boost and Fusion, you can easily steamroll opponents. This is also helped by all the rare cards obtained from the online battles.

The main characters have a style and color palette that gives off a shoujo vibe and sort of reminds me of Blue Reflection. The relationship between May and Fia is cute as we see May go from someone who is very shy and has low self esteem to someone who has more confidence in herself and is able to bond more with Fia who learns to put more trust in May.
Can't talk about this game without bringing up the Crush Rub and Extreme Rub mechanics which are famous enough to have a gif of it in action on the game's Wikipedia page. Since May is basically who you are playing as, it's hard to see May as someone that is constantly rubbing up monster girls so it's out of character for her.
The main issue with the mechanic is that it is poorly explained. It gives you an explanation of the types of touching you can do and the mechanic's purpose which is to level up cards, but it doesn't go into much detail on how it plays. It fails to tell you that you can use the right stick to move the camera around which led to me during the first Crush Rub with Fia wondering how I was supposed to touch anything but her face and ears. Two of the types of touching are Poke and Touch which the game fails to explain the different between the two and how to execute them. At the end of the day you just Poke and Rub everything until hearts show up and the meter fills. What's also annoying is that some cards seems to get worse when they level like losing points in health and attack and getting nothing else. Like most gimmicky rubbing minigames, it gets old pretty quickly and you wish there was a way to just insta-level up cards.

The art on the cards also seems to vary and not match the style in the game, but I guess that's how it goes with card games since it's an opportunity to have guest artists.
I just wish a lot of the loli art was less....loli.
Overall, a cute and fun game and I wish there was a sequel to expand on the gameplay mechanics here. The battle music also slaps.

In Time Attack, defeat the boss in 30 seconds or less.

Best done on easy where the bosses recieve more damage. Spam Krysha's Heavenly Steps on the first boss.

In Time Attack, defeat the boss without taking damage. (7.4% very rare/23.76% uncommon)

You'll probably get this when going for Greased Lightning.

This was a pain in the arse, both these trophies popped at the same time, but I didn't get the Good Quarma cutscene, I just got a black screen - and it happened again after I repeated the level to do with raiding the vendos, so I had to repeat and this time I managed to find all the secrets, there seemed to be one I was missing and somehow this time with all 50 in the level saved - I got the ending cutscene with Abe finding out he about his mother [ the Mudokon Queen Sam] and where she is.   Real shame they left the game in such a glitchy mess.
