Bartle Test: What kind of gamer are you?

Just a bit of fun really.

Here's a primer on the Bartle Test for determining player types.

Now that you've watched that, take the test here, and let us know what kind of scores you got.

Edit: The test and the taxonomy were designed with MMORPG and MUD games in mind, so do not be surprised by the heavy leaning towards these game types in the questions.

______

I got:

Achiever: 40%

Explorer: 73%

Griefer: 27%

Socialiser: 60%

Seems fairly accurate to me, although I'm surprised the socialiser score came out so high. I'd have thought my Achiever score would be higher than socialiser.

As expected from the #1 Extra Credits fan on PSNP ;)

My scores were:

Achiever: 47%

Explorer: 73%

Griefer: 20%

Socializer: 60%

Though I'm pretty sure these aren't an accurate representation of my gaming preferences. I'm an exclusively single-player gamer and there is no way my socializer score is this high and my achiever score this low. Then again, as an exclusively offline player, maybe I'm not the target audience of the test in the first place...

I think you and I probably encountered the same issue. A lot of the questions set up a dichotomy which might have skewed the result.

But, then again, we do seem to enjoy spending time on forums discussing games, writing guides, etc, so maybe we are more social than we thought?

Haha, perhaps. We don't talk in games, but about games. :)

Achiever 53

Explored 27

Griefer 60

Socializer 60

No idea what I griefer is and if it was said in the video then there's a sad comment on my attention span, interesting how I got socializer though, since I'm not too big on the socializing aspect of gaming. Of course, as I was writing this, I realized I took a quiz online just so I could talk about my results with others, so maybe subconsciously I do enjoy socializing. Oh well, thanks for killing 5 minutes.

Achiever: 53%

Explorer: 67%
Griefer: 20%
Socializer: 60%

I expected Griefer to be way higher, based on how much I shit on people that play with me (ask Sir_bee, the_drag0n2, theguytom [a.k.a. SHUT THE FUCK UP!], Boooda56, etc). Didn't expect Explorer to be higher than Achiever either.

EDIT: Actually, high Explorer makes a lot of sense since I love to play stuff blindly to find out stuff myself. I had fun finding patterns and shit to help out people with.

Achiever 47%

Explorer 87%

Griefer 13%

Socializer 53%

Sounds about right I guess. My play style (organizer/coordinator/unifier with a love of pristige and guild powers, a collection of Excel spreadsheets to work out the exact game mechanics, and a general disinterest in the actual fighting) is not exactly covered. :P

I did have a chance to play a game as sort of the official Griefer once (more a "we can't program a good NPC so would you take that role?") and it was a blast, but I only enjoyed it because I talked the site owner into letting me RPG the role as well, instead of the original "battle interaction only" requirement. :P
